    I haven’t been to a game at old trafford in years. when I do get home to Ireland it’s usually only a quick visit to spend a couple days with family. Even before I moved to America in the early 90s the cost of flights + tickets for a game was outrages and very few people could afford to go over very often. Now a days you can pay 20 quid for a flight and comeback the same day so all my mates have season tickets. It diesnt stop me from getting up at 4:30 or 7:30am every saturday morning to watch every match. For now ill have to make do with spending close to $2000 following the Reds around the country on the Summer tour.

    Oh and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again our fans both home and away have been fantastic. As bad as a season as we have the fans at matches have done us proud. I definitely notice a big difference in the noise levels on TV.

    Yea mate, they all get the ferry to liverpool then a quick train. Always garenteed to see a few irish lads and lasses, good lads the irish

    The home fans are not usually the loudest used to winning to much so just expect the team to turn up and beat our opponents but this year the weve been pretty loud all; the season, the away following has always been the best in the country and will continue to be that

  5. united till i die says:

    @ tommy

    Our away fans are fucking brilliant every match Always singing for the full 90 minutes. My neighbors must wonder what the fuck is wrong with me with my TV up so loud every Saturday morning. Even the match commentators over here praise the utd away fans for their support.

    Really difficult to get one even as a ST holder, I avarage about 2 aways a season, thats the going rate for most ST holders, we get an avarage of 15kappalying for 2 or 3k away allocation, the allocation gets bumped up for cup matches

    Ive got the feeling LVG wont be announced today, Sky sources understand the Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) wants to have the matter resolved before the start of the World Cup

  7. united till i die says:

    It’s simply not good enough from the board that they have let this drag on for so long. They have had nearly two full months to agree a deal with Van Gaal. I understand the Dutch FAs position needs to be respected but a simple statement UTD saying LVG has accepted the job but will continue to focus on the national team until after the World Cup ends all this speculation. If they are still negotiating the deal at this point we have some serious problems behind the scenes.

  8. Tommy says:

    @United till I die

    Yep I agree, if the dutch go out early in the world cup, the finger will be pointed at United for dragging it out, Like you say a simple “we are pleased to announce Louis Van Gaal as the new Manchester United on a 3 year contract, we respect hes got a job with the dutch FA so we will be making no further comment” Would suffice

  9. Mark Reid says:

    @ Tommy agree mate think it’ll beTomorrow getting late in the day.I would imagine there’s some transfer hold ups too.LVG may want to announce some new players too.

  10. Tommy says:

    @Mark Reid

    Its only 1.35pm here so not really that late,. but the dutch had today and yesterday off and he was supposedly flying into Manchester to conclude deal, the dutch team fly out to Portugal for world cup training camp tomorrow so if its not done today then its time to get worried, the dutch wont want any distractions from tomorrow onwards

  11. Mark Reid says:

    @Tommy makes sense.

  12. wayne barker says:

    maybe it’s a done deal and won’t be announced till after the World Cup.I find it very unlikely Giggs would travel to Holland to discuss his future unless a deal has been done because otherwise Van Gaal would have no authority to conduct a interview and make any kind of decision .Once the announcement is made will become more of a circus and distraction than it is now imo.Who knows Dutch FA might have asked for the delay

  13. wayne barker says:

    just been announced
