  1. Hans says:

No matter the circumstances we should have never allowed them to come back in the match!

Very disappointed with Lindegard. Should have saved at least tow of heir goals. Glad the result was irrelevant today, but would have been great for Fergie and Scholesy to bow out with a win.

  2. DiegoForlanDK says:

Didn’t think Lindegaard did too well either. While he wasn’t directly at fault for any of the goals, I think he should have done a better job of Lukakus 1st and 3rd goal.

But ultimately it doesn’t matter. What an absolutely empty feeling I have inside seeing Fergie walking out that dugout for the last time

  3. Marq says:

Wasn’t nice watching Carrick trying to do 3 man’s job. Scholes, Anderson & Giggs were not tracking back at all. Lets see what Moyes does about it

  4. Harty67 says:

Off topic somewhat but how about Brian Kidd on Sky talking about what’s next for him “everyone knows what Man City means to me…”!!
All from the man who was a United fan turned player and assisstant manager who often talked about his love for the club, but who has now become the living proof of The Docs old joke of having more clubs than Tony Jacklin (nothing wrong with that) and who became the original gun for hire yet he’s now a big City man!
Kiddo, you spoilt your legacy at United a long time ago but this latest one is the final straw.

  5. Doghouse says:

It’s some comfort to see that the young lads bossed this game so comfortably and it was only when the venerable Scholes and Giggs were wheeled on that we lost control of it. I love Scholesy and I won’t be remembering him for this performance, he had an absolute mare. Giggs was actually largely blameless, but the changes did hurt us.

Anders in goal, well he had one too. Best to have them when it doesn’t count. Understandable that his mind isn’t right, but he’s going to have to either shape up as a reserve keeper or ship out. It sounds odd but the backup goalkeeper for a club like United needs to be a great keeper in his own right and he needs to make piece with a secondary role and stay sharp for when he is needed. I get the feeling Anders wants to be a number one.

  6. Costas says:

Buttner will make a good left winger. And hopefully that will keep in front of the half way line…

He also did Ando’s job after a while, lol. Scholes retiredand I have a feeling Giggs will turn into a player/coach now. So the matter is pressing more than ever now. Tom showed a few encouraging signs out there and you could tell the difference that was made when he came off. But we are still short on numbers. And hopefully Moyes realizes that.

  7. Sparkz says:

Disappointed with the result and the shambles at the back but hey, last game of the season! Fergie goes out making history and entertaining!

I do agree that we lost our way after Scholes came on, but it wasn’t just him. Ando’s legs went after the hour mark as usual and the defenders all had a mare too.

In normal circumstances we would’ve taken the sting out of the game in the second half. But this wasn’t normal circumstances and we were just charging forward at every opportunity!

  8. Dan-young says:

I don’t care about the result .. the fact SAF’s last game was a 10 goal thriller is kind of suitable. his big day happened last week at old Trafford. however, as for united, note to self .. don’t put unlucky number 13 on a goalkeepers back, how many goals has lindegaard conceded this season?! im not blaming anyone atall but de gea would have saved 2/3 out of the 5 goals conceded. and buttners defensive positioning is a bit dodgy. be good to put him out on loan to a team like Fulham to get a bit of experience. other then that the game was great to watch!

on a brighter note .. united are currently sitting at 3/1 to sign bale .. and 2/1 to sign Ronaldo. exciting summer coming up!

  9. RedMotor says:

I read that there has never been a 5-5 draw in the premier league. So at least Fergie has bowed out to yet another piece of history!

So many memories. Thank you Sir Alex

  10. Dan-young says:

apparently bale has told skysports that he has offers on the table from united and real Madrid but has stated that he wants to stay in England if he leaves Tottenham .. im waiting for it to be published but its all over facebook

  11. Sparkz says:

I hope that’s true but I’m pretty sure that quote is fake.

  12. soccerisfootbal says:

taking off shinji and cleverley for scholes and giggs saw us stop tracking back for the most part as the game wore on.

for me buttner was at fault for most of the goals (either conceded possession,, was way out of position or fail to make a simple clearance or tackle or block when the ball was in the box) but lindegaard was terrible at organizing and he should have done better on lukaku’s 1st and 3rd. no way de gea would have conceded 5 today. worst part is the tame and cowardly reaction from conceding those soft goals. he has a goal in him but needs more experience before playing in our backline again.

i was surprised by the rio substitution not changing much in terms of organization. where was jones on the last goal? the positioning between the CB was woeful. normally those lollypop crosses get cleared but by rio/vidic but both CB were out of position and buttner failed to clear/block the cross properly. again lindegaard useless and just standing and watching everything unfold. unreal stuff.

but first half was excellent from the lads, particularly hernandez who was our MOTM by far imo (valenca in second place). valencia did alright running at chris brunt but needs to maintain that kind of performance vs actual fullbacks.

  13. soccerisfootbal says:

i meant to say buttner, not lindegaard, has a goal in him but needs more experience before playing in our backline again.

  14. wazzer says:

maybe instead of rooney and van pearsie we coupd have hernandez and van pearsie, spounds good to me

  15. lecho says:

Looks like in the last match of the season it was finally THE Valencia we missed :)

  16. GFS says:

    Well we started very well

Only conceded on goal in the first half despite having a really attacking line-up

Four of their goals came after Lukaku’s inclusion of which he scored three which shows us that we don’t handle players with power

Three of their goals came in the last ten minutes (its easy to blame Scholes and giggs inclusion) but anyway a more reserved manager would have put in a defensive/energetic midfielder instead of attacking ones be it old or young

We all know that we don’t have defensive midifielders but I would have moved Jones into midfield and send one of the experienced defenders into the field a bit earlier

Overall this season wasn’t not our best tactically but it was good in a lot of other areas I hope Moyes can improve this side of our game without taking the flair out of our game

  17. denton davey says:

Marq @ 19:59: “Wasn’t nice watching Carrick trying to do 3 man’s job. Scholes, Anderson & Giggs were not tracking back at all.”

Actually, “4 man’s job” since MrJones was regularly out-of-position.

  18. denton davey says:

Wazzer @ 07:23: “maybe instead of rooney and van pearsie we coupd have hernandez and van pearsie, spounds good to me”

Don’t forget KagawaBunga – he sparked the attack.

  19. Rukky says:

I think valencia is beta as a fullback. I dont like him as winger. He just plays a low canoon into the box hoping som1 get on it. Ps he is average!
