And according to the Poland coach Lewandowski’s following kagawa to united – which I think is huge news!

  3. Red Indian says:

well taken goal, although i don’t think the defender on the line exactly covered himself with glory really.

  4. MJY91 says:

is it true that Robert lewandowski is going to Man Utd??

  5. inhouser says:

Has anyone heard about the Modric deal????

  7. Costas says:

Big deal. Lots of men score against Jordan. ;)

  8. Robbo says:

Mahesh, I was just about post the same thing.

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/1862/premier-league/2012/06/08/3157570/lewandowski-is-going-to-manchester-united-claims-poland-boss?

Here is the link. I suppose the site is as creditable as the Sun but it does have a quote (quotation marks at least) from the coach.

Inhouser, yes I think the last couple of threads have quite a bit of chat on Modric.

  9. Vilhelm28 says:

Was going to say the same Costas, are Jordan even any good ?

  10. Park Life says:

    Oi Oiiii!!! Nice1 Costas!

Kagawa’s going to surprise a lot of people next season! Can’t fucking wait!

  11. inhouser says:

In my opinion, in a moment they will be gone from Borussia Dortmund,” Smuda said. “Lewy is going to Manchester United, Jakub also somewhere in England, Lukasz Piszczek to Real Madrid. They have a goal and they want to grow.”

Am trying to decipher this(though in my view no manager should carelessly throw around such phrases) and it seems to me that in his view he sees lewandowski going to a big club sometime in the future in order to further his career.

This is what is what my signing-hungry brain saw at first:
ROBERT is GOING to Manchester United.

  15. Costas says:

Yep. The Jordan I am talking about is easier to break through than the country. ;)

  16. Jeet says:

@TonyBee: No, he’s worth his weight in gold :)

  17. Jeet says:

Ando is worth his weight in burgers, and is more expensive than Modric :)

  18. Alom says:

Modric already a Manchester United player according to Wiki last night LOL

  19. Alom says:

    LOVE the japanese commentary!

    “NIPPON!!!”

  20. mancdub says:

Didn’t Kagawa and Lewandowski have a big fall out a few months ago?
I remember reading an interview where Shinji was calling him selfish.

  21. raji adewale success says:

i wont modric bec modric is a gud playmaker pls sir buy modric 4 me

  22. iced earth says:

Fergie said ” one, two maybe three ” players will come in.
i don t belive all this rumours until it will be confirmed by the club,i don t see modric or Lewandowski join us
for now we have got a great player in kagawa, hope we can get a strong cm and a lb

  23. eric keane says:

‘D love modric at united to be honest. But not at 40mil or the other crazy figures!

  24. Mikekelly12 says:

For any semblance of truth in the matter and why you should take the Poland coach’s comments with a huge pinch of salt. Borussia Dortmund are back to back bundelsliga champions. They are cash rich and the club is run very well. They do not NEED to sell anyone. They have already agreed to sell Kagawa as he was in the last year of his contract. He also said Kuba and Piszczek were leaving. Now here is the kicker, do you really think the financially sound, well run back to back Bundesliga champions will sell 4 of their best players in one summer??? No, thought not!

  25. PeteyRedRed says:

    Jordi Alba please Fergie!

  26. MG says:

    If James were here…

James I’ve got M&S lingerie advert with a hot woman saying:

Love lingerie? Get luxury for less.

    Unfortunately I don’t wear lingerie

I know women who do though

  27. Mikekelly12 says:

    PeteyRedRed
Barcalona and Valencia and Alba agreed terms on a £12 move yesterday pal.
The Poland coach has reiterated his Lewandowski belief via sky sports. Think he must be craving the limelight!

  28. RedHound says:

    Mikekelly12

Exactly, as highlighted above his diction alone pretty much clears things.

  29. mancdub says:

I’m aware that bookies sometimes get things wrong but not very often.
Modric is 5/4 to sign for United which is probably due to all the speculation. If there was serious information circulating about a deal being imminent the price would be much shorter.
The one they seem to be convinced about is Baines who is best priced 1/6 to join us. Which makes the transfer extremely likely.
It’s not scientific but these people are in the business of making money. It’s in their interest to have the best information.

  30. Panderi says:

Keisuke Honda scored a hattrick.. We’ve obviously signed the wrong guy.. :D Also heard he is rated over 15 million by his club..

    15mil > 12 mil

    Honda > Kagawa :D

  31. Dr. Mico says:

Modric the creative midfielder who rarely creates anything and scores even less? At 50 years old Scholes will still be better than him.

  32. RedHound says:

God i wish i was Dr. Cal Lightman

  33. WillieRedNut says:

Skybet have Roland Rat at 1/3 to sign for United? Still think it’s BS. Levy won’t sell for anything less than 35/38mill. 8)

  34. Fred says:

From what I’ve seen of Kagawa, he’s more technically accomplished than any player currently in our squad.

  35. redcrab says:

We need to sign the commentator for MUTV.

  36. mancdub says:

    On oddschecker he’s still 5/4

  37. mancdub says:

    Yep best price 5/4 betvictor

  38. mancdub says:

Yep best price 5/4 victor chandler.
    Worst price 1/3 skybet.
    That’s a massive swing.

  39. MG says:

Any chance of signing Of Danger Mouse?

  40. Mikekelly12 says:

Any chance of Signing On….. Nope, he’s gone to Liverpool!!!

  41. Fred says:

Knock it off with this betting odds shit. Name one time when that has been a reliable indicator of a transfer happening.

  42. WillieRedNut says:

I’m 1/8 on to sink my anchor into a lovely lady at a cousins wedding 23rd June! Not the bride, though. ;) Shame Willie, shame……. ;)

  43. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Is everyone on about Modric now? Don’t need him need a midfield destroyer. That should be our number 1 priority instead of pissing away money on a striker. If Welbeck can stay in the team without scoring for 11 odd games then why would another striker want to come in just to sit on the bench.

Very clear to me pecking order is Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez and Berbatov. Anybody who comes in will obviosuly leapfrog Berba and perhaps Hernandez but there’s no way he’s breaking up Rooney and Welbeck.

We need one more midfielder and another full back. Keep the Berb and our business is done for the summer.

  44. mansuy united says:

@mancdub Found the article you were referencing with Kagawa criticizing Lewandowski for being too selfish. Anyone know what to make of this or have any background on the story?

    http://blogs.bettor.com/Shinji-Kagawa-Lewandowski-is-too-selfish-a150890

  45. WillieRedNut says:

Dangermouse not joining United…………Penfold could join, though? :)

  46. Fred says:

Of all the news outlets that reported that story, mansuy chooses a link to a betting site, just to annoy me.

We need an article from my favourite RoM contributer, Admin: “Where to put your money this summer transfer window”.

To NRD and everyone else who would prefer a “midfield destroyer” to a “pass master” like Modric, I remind you of Rob “Nostradumbass” Smyth’s famous criticism of the Carrick signing: “a Pirlo when a Gattuso was needed.” How’d that work out for us?

  47. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Fred- We need a destroyer to cover Fletcher. We get Modric as well we’ll have

Modric, Scholes, Cleverly, Carrick, Kagawa, Fletcher, Anderson. Only one out that list likes to tackle and not only likes it but does it well. Anderson has never been a DM his original position was behind the front man. The club is partially responsible for Anderson not producing by changing his role.

Good point about signing Pirlo when we needed Gattuso. However Fergie went and signed Gattuso the following year except he ended up having glass knees. Why wait a year when we can feasibly do it now?

  48. mancdub says:

    Fred
When a player becomes a stupid odds on price. Smaller than 1/5 to sign for a club that’s normally a good indicator. Hazard is good example. He went 1/6 to sign for Chelsea. That afternoon it was anounced he would sign for Chelsea.
I follow most betting markets. Always looking to make a quid.
I would never bet on a transfer but it’s a better indicator than the tabloids. I’d say about 30% of transfers that go smaller than 1/5 become reality.

  49. mansuy united says:

@Fred what does it matter where the quotes come from if they are in fact quotes? any insight on the matter or just hatehatehatehate? :)

Spot on pal, like when they had us odds-on to sign Sneijder, odds-on to sign Sanchez, odds-on to sign Benzema, odds-on to sign Tevez, odds-on to sign Ozil, odds-on to sign Ribery, odds-on to sign Ronaldinho etc. Rarely ever wrong pal. Honest as the day is long too, and are loathe to mislead the public in the interest of making money.

  51. Fred says:

mancdub – where do you think the bookies get this inside info?

  52. WillieRedNut says:

Fergie won’t buy a destroyer. He said as much, the other week. People on this blog bemoan the lack of midfield signings and the Glazer affect on purchasing players. Not saying the Modric deal will happen. Probably BS, given the source, but at least there is at last, attempts to bring in the quality the squad/team most certainly needs. As for the bookies? They react to large amounts of money being put on a player joining a club. No inside info. As Fred said, they had us favourites to sign Sneijder Hazard etc…..

  53. cho- cho says:

We definately need a midfield destroyer,y not buy Mvila.modric is an excellent playa just wat united need+ a striker dat scores goal for fun like luuk de jong , van wolfswinkel.united shud change the system 2- 4231. 442 leaves us xposed

  54. caleb ocheni says:

de guy is gud as ruud van nistelroo

  55. Fred says:

Willie – don’t rule out us signing a destroyer just yet. There are strong rumours that we’re in for this guy:

God I love the Japanese, the commentary is ACE!

Really excited to see Shinji turn out for us next season, hope he gets LOTS of game time.

  58. caleb ocheni says:

we need modric first bf any order signings?

  59. WillieRedNut says:

Fred – Soul destroying? Tried to open the link and it said, forbidden?

  60. fergie is the boss says:

I really think we have signed a gem in Shinji kagwa, we were all talking about WS, even though his goalscoring record has not bene quiet so good the past 2 years, what a bargain we have found. I really think when he settles he will score 15 to possibly 20 goals. If we can add perhaps a fullback, another midfielder and a striker, we will have the squad in place to not only challenge for the title, but even win it. I do hope we can sign modric and Lewandowski’, even if it costs us 30 million, we are needing a player that can hold the ball.

And we could see united start to really pick up consistent wins, and beat sides we should beat,

I am hoping for a formation change of 433 of
    DDG
    rafeal ferdinand vidic evra
    carrick
    modric kagwa
    valencia rooney young

or if we play a 442
    DDG
    rafeal ferdinand vidic evra
    valencia modric kagwa young
    rooney Lewandowski’

  61. Fred says:

That’s too bad, Will. It was a picture of Conan the Destroyer.

  62. WillieRedNut says:

Conan? He’d kill Ya ya, no doubt!

  63. slim says:

lol. transfer fever is well and truly in effect.
    anyone seen King Eric about?

  64. Devil310 says:

So I read…..”Kagawa Scores Against Jordan”

    - Shit, I didn’t know he played Basketball too!

    :D

  65. jonny says:

didn’t the bookies also pay out on us winning the title this year? #justsayin

  66. Fred says:

    Spot on, Jonny.

  67. King Eric says:

Dr Mico – Spot on. Playmaker my fucking arse.
