Was Gibson always good on free kicks, or is this something he has added to his repertoire. The Cleverley goal is my favourite one though. Great piece of skill. They don’t teach you that. That’s instict.

  2. dougtheeng says:

Great goals, especially liked Cleverley’s one.

  3. KVN says:

SAF really needs to keep Cleverly and Welbeck as they ‘ve both shown they’re capable of holding a first team place, maybe not from the start but def on the bench at least. Plus given the new rules about 25 man squad plus unlimited under 21s it would work in our favour to keep them.
If we could buy one midfield player either Dafour, Ozil or long shot Sniedjer. But this young team has a freshness about it and as long as the seniors like Giggs, Scholes and Neville can guide the
youngster we’ll suprise a lot of people in EPL and in Champions League. This team is more than
    capable of winning the lot.

Cleverley goal was fantastic… not only great technique but incredible balls to even attempt something like that! Looked pure instinct!

Chico’s was a great finish and well excuted…. again difficult to do in the heat of the moment… as he had to wait for the ball to come down and then shift his body position to execute!

He showed great composure for his first goal against France in WC…. he looks like a natural predator!

All in all a brilliant performance and i was really impressed with them all. Disapointed to see Obertan go off with an early knock as i felt he is was really getting into his stride. Good to see Kiko up his performance too as was getting worried after the last game about his attitude!

Lastly while its easy to laud it up about the exciting young prospects iv gotta say i thought it was a Master Class from Giggsy again… he was brilliant.

Friendly, but as pleasing to watch as the game against the Wizards was infuriating to watch. No failures on the pitch this morning, skill in abundance and there’s another load in the academy. The futures very bright indeed.

I loved how Macheda was pressurising defenders right from the start, he had a bit of fire in his belly and looked like he’s got something to prove. Welbeck’s good performances on this tour probably woke him up a bit. After his first goal he was full of confidence, you could see it. Why doesn’t Gibbo take more freekicks?! And someone needs to tell him to lose some weight, people bang on about Ando but it’s Gibbo who’s piled on the pounds. Cleverley and Welbeck must stay, they have already come back better players after a loan move, took their chances and impressed, what else must they do? They look more than ready for the first team. Cracking finishes by Tom and Javier. Overall a game worth staying up for.

I was really chuffed for Macheda, since his exploits against villa and sunderland he really hadnt done much when he has played… and seemed to me like he was lacking in confidence after the injury.

Cleaverley should stay and battle for a place in midfield. His goal was superb.

gibson’s goals was class and hernandez i really think this boy is going to be special for united…. cue the transfer talk next summer from madrid!

  8. Buliwyf says:

What a great great goal from Cleverly!!

  9. rachelreddevil says:

i absoloutly shattered today but it was well worth staying up for this morning. much better performance by the lads. we had that experiance from vds brown fletch giggs and oshea and the youth from da silva twins (fabio was better then raf) macheda cleverley and little pea.

great goals al round macheda showed the composure he sometimes lacks
the freekick hit the inside netting it was so precise.
skill and genius by clev like berbas goal against wigan last year
and little peas finish was fantastic he started celebrating before it hit the net that showed confidence.
he had a chance sn after he came on showed he was hungary.

can’t wait to see these players develop into united stars

only drawback obertan injury but he shud be bk in a couple of weeks

Cleverly’s goal was a joy to watch, fantastic stuff. Is Hernandez going to have “Chicarito” on his shirt during the prem season or was it just as it was a friendly?

KVN, Mate you speak to much sense.Get outta here you are not welcome. lol
You are spot on about keeping them at the Club rather than learning bad habits and working with poor players.
I always think the way to learn is watch listen and mirror the good things you witness.
Great to see Javier get off the mark.
I cant recall who said it sorry, like a Micheal Owen in his pomp, playing right on the defence line spin turn, wham of like grease lightening. Magic.

My first time seeing United in the flesh and I must say I’m still speechless from last night’s performance (literally, because I screamed myself hoarse, lol). How I envy those of you with the ability to see them on a frequent basis. Well worth every penny and mile traveled. Starting to save for a trip to Old Trafford right now.

Very impressed with the youngsters. Wonderful work early on by Macheda. Gibson shocked me with that freekick. I was expecting a blast into the wall. Color me surprised. Only way to describe Cleverly’s goal is “jaw-dropping”. The lad had amazing control. Chicharito’s goal was sublime to say the least, he appeared to be a shade offside.

The atmosphere was pretty good. Never heard any sustained chants for United. At one point during the 1st half around the 30 minute mark, I got embarrassed because some idiots (fans) started the wave and that lasted for a few minutes. Totally stupid fan activity IMO. The lads were probably shaking their heads at the display of stupidity. Thank God that didn’t happen again in the 2nd half. Due to the high Hispanic population, Chicharito got a standing ovation when he entered the match and the place went bonkers when he scored.

The old men were impressive as usual.

Hi Scott – i couldn’t get the video either.

i’m also running firefox, like some folks above, which tells me i’m missing a plugin…

Gibson’s the oldest of the goalscorers at 23. Let’s not get too worked up, not like we’ll win anything with kids!

  17. LouisianaRed says:

Here is Chicharito beginning what we all hope and pray is a long and successful journey as a United player:

My 9 yr old son had the camera at the time, but you can see the ball going into the net (look @ the guy in yellow on the right side of goal) with the keeper looking back. Chicharito is covered by the guy in the Rooney shirt’s arm.

Scott let me know if you would like some pictures from the match. I’m not a professional, but I have a few decent ones.
