Louis Saha could have had a hat-trick against Chelsea tonight, after scoring two and having his penalty saved. Saha got the better of John Terry for both goals.
Our away draw against Villa and Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat means we are now within one point of the blues at the top and have a goal difference better by two.
We’re coming to get you!

Man Utd News 24/7

I do miss him. Exactly the player we need. Well done louis.Embarrassed John terry for both his goals. Great form he has been in, 15 goals now for him this season in all competitions.
Well done Louis!! but you not going to get any against us next week!!!
killed terry fuck off 2 dubai
Well done to Louis. If he didn’t have his fitness issues, he would still be a hit for us. Brown and Evans better have their head in the game next week.
What a man. If he wasn’t so injury pron he would still be at United and we wouldn’t have wasted millions on Berbatov. Great point tonight – the hallmark of champions!
Can’t say playing over an hour with 10 men is the best preparation for the Milan game!
I loved him so much! There is no need to say anything. Fate.
I thought our performance tonight was absolutely first class. Considering we had 10 men for more then half the game, i thought we were unlucky not to have won. What great performances by Carrick, Fletcher and Rooney!
Chelsea are struggling with the set – pieces. I still think that despite what chelsea players are saying publicly, they still don’t understand their respective roles under Carlo Ancellotti at set – pieces. I have a feeling that ancellotti may not have realised the importance of the set – piece in English football before he took the chelsea job.
I think this is a potentially huge opportunity for United in the game at Old Trafford and I wouldn’t be surprised if we give them an overdue hiding! (dodgy referees notwithstanding).
As for Louis Saha, he was always a player who could change a game – this year he could turn out to be the player who changed the whole league!
We played brilliantly, which is why its so frustrating that we didn’t pick up all 3 points, particularly with Chelski getting beat! I thought Villa were a disgrace!
is it me or does saha really likes chelsea, always scores against them, valuable pt gained, nxt onto san siro
Giggs sent for an X-ray:
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_united/s/1192249_giggs_sent_for_xray
We lost our rhythm after he left. I just hope he won’t miss any game.
A striker so good he could keep ruud out fa cup final. But he had to be cut loose because his injuries became more than not, but 100% the guy is world class. I’d 6 people and 2 doctors and a porter aroundy computer for 2 hours . Much love Trevor
He is in good form. Thank you Saha! What a great favour; just hope we can snatch the 3 points when we play them though. We have been brilliant with 10 men; had Nani stayed on the pitch, we would have won comfortablly and would be going to to Wembly confident of winning the league cup. But given their inability to take advantage of Nani’s sending off, opting to play for a draw and just defend, I am sure we will give them hell in the CC final. We will never die.
Hopefully Giggs is alright and fit to play. We cant afford to have players out injured or banned at this crucial time, we need everyone. Thank God Rio’s back soon. Where on earth is Vidic???????????
Instead of constantly asking Fergie how awesome Rooney is, perhaps one reporter could ask him what the fuck is the problem with Vidic. We did work very well as a team, but it was a soft goal that Villa scored. Like many other soft goals that have led to our downfall this season.
all hail king louis
HAIL KING LOUIS
Man, today refereeing was utterly BS.
Thanks a lot Louis!
I’ve always had a soft spot for him, too bad he was so much injured when he was with us. He’s the complete forward in my opinion; athletic, intelligent, pacey, unpredictable, good in the air, good finisher and brave. Too bad it didn’t work out with us. Oh well, at least he’s done us a huge favor!
Thanks again.
FUN FACT: In Rio’s book he mentions that the striker he finds the most difficult to play against is Saha and the striker Terry/Carragher fears the most is Saha!.
Looks like Terry doesnt conquer his fears like he conquers his mates women
We were brillient tonight under the circumstances. If arsenal continue picking points they could overhaule chelsea to second place. It will be four in a row for us.
Agent Saha strikes again!!!
just a pity his long injuries came when United needed a striker, had to let him go.. Glad that he is performing again.
absolutly loved Saha when he was here, in terms of ability he is one of the best we have ever had, was just a shame about all the injuries! Happy he is doing well at Everton!!
terry was left standing for sahas second goal and was beating on the run for the first
point gained i think rather tht 2 lost nice one everton
funny how he was always injured at United but now seems to be injury free!
not the only one either…
Things change really fast in football.
Not much was mentioned about him when he left united because most of us were so excited about Berbatov’s arrival that we didnt bother that much.18 months down the line we feel he would have done much better than what Berbatov is currently doing for us and has not had a major injury this season and we let him go for free.what a signing for Everton.
I cant believe after seeing the highlights of the everton match how all over the place terry was.
the guy is getting found out big time these days playing away from home
aig – Louis said at one point that he felt United medical staff hadn’t treated him the best possible way. maybe he is just about right. or maybe he wasn’t that stressed at Everton and it helped him mentally to recover.
ghtt.. to be honest football wise Terry has been rock solid this season apart from this game, can happen to anyone once in a while (remember Vida vs Liverpool), as much as I hate the guy, he’s a good defender normally
@Corea
Did he?. i cant remember that.The surprising thing with him was he used to get injured most of the times in warm up before the game which puzzled me and then he used to be out for months.
tony
mate i know terry has been very good this season i just couldnt believe how found out he was yesterday. and about sahas injuries i think this is his best injury free season
Chelsea were there for taking in their last few away matches. They were just lucky that they played relatively poor teams like Burnley and Hull.
Despite our solid performance yesterday, it is ashame that we did not seize this opprtunity to go top of the league. Even more, we lost Nani for 3 matches, just as he turned the corner and has become a real team player. I think now we are a better team with him playing.
As for Saha, even he probably says, if only …..
Only if Saha could have stayed fit I think he would have been a real success at United. Saha is still a red. If you look closly you can still see that United top underneath that Everton one! Ran rings around Terry. British bulldog my arse. Brilliant 2nd goal too. Also liked Fabregas’ last ditch handball to keep Gerrards freekick out! It’s just a shame we couldn’t pick up 3 points.
The rags make me laugh with headlines such as “Villa held by 10-man United.” Villa held my arse. More like “10-man United held by Villa.”
Fcukin ABU’s take the pish.
Think the whole team looks better for 2 reasons.
1.The midfield is back to what it should be..in-form and with options.With Giggs,Scholes,Nani,Valencia,Park really fighting for two available places..cos Fletcher and Carrick are definate starters for me with VDS,Evra and Rooney.
2.There’s some of you that won’t like me saying this..and i’m not having a go…i’m stating the obvious..we look far more potent and far more solid without Berbatov.
I don’t wanna cause ww3 here…but i think it’s so obvious that we look better when he’s not in the starting 11.
well done saha,but next week united will eat u.
@AIG
hi mate, hope you are well. I don’t think we let him go for free… from memory it was £8million squids, but I am more likely than not completely incorrect.
Good luck to the lad – I don’t think he has set the world on fire at Everton, but is an amazingly gifted athlete if not very unlucky with injuries.
Those rentboys must be making boo boos in their pants at this stage.
@Muggaz
I am good mate. how are you?
It was undisclosed fee but many reports suggested it was not much. For someone with that sort of injury record dont think everton paid 8million for him. Must have been very less compared to the 12 odd million we bought him for and given his current form must have been a bargain for them.
He has done very well this season. 15 goals this season. that was his 7th goal against Chelsea. Loves playing against them. No comparisions but Rooney has scored only 8 goals in 40 appearences for United against the big 4 teams.
Not many people embarass John Terry for 90 minutes.Great mental strength by Louis to keep his head up despite the penalty miss.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1250149/Sergio-Aguero-puts-Chelsea-Manchester-United-alert-hinting-Atletico-departure.html?ITO=1490
@ AIG
yeah i’m good mate, thanks for asking!
I think that stat about Rooney is a little misleading – remember how many games he would have played out on the left against the big 4, and also how young he is, so we are considering games he played for them before he was even 21…
@Muggaz
Agree there. He was played on the wings but the arsenal game a couple of weeks back was really the first game in a few years i have seen him perform at the level he can against a top 4 team.He has shown increasing maturity adn was excellent yesterday after we were down to 10 men covering every blade of grass.
I heart Rooney.
Alright.
What is the point in talking about how good Saha is doing and how we could do with him etc? He was always fucking injured at United. He happens to be doing well over at Goodison but there is fuck all we can do about it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Its not like he is at the rentboys or any other title rivals though.
Cannot believe some of the negative comments on here since last night. There are a fair few. United played with TEN men away from home and had 60 per cent possession. Like Fergie says we gained a point and a goal last night. The rentboys as I have been frequently saying are fucking shit and its only a matter of time now before we usurp them. Unbeaten still in 9 now I think are United. Meanwhile the Chav’s have only won ONE in their last SEVEN on the road.
We’ll Never Die!!
Why do the press make up lies all the time ? Just read in the mail that we are lucky due to own goals. They say that seven have come recently and “that is more than Owen and Berbatov put together”. Is it fuck. Owen has seven and Berbatov eight. Lieing cunts.
Saha has always been a good player when fit. He’s great in the air and I sometimes miss having a player like that in our team when those deadly crosses come flying in. But Saha is injury prone and it looked like he was never going to get fit enough to get a good run of games in our squad. Besides, when he got fit he also had to break his way into the side. When he had done that he usually got injured again and the same process took over: Rest, recovery and then trying to break his way back in again. At Everton he kinda has a sure spot in the starting lineup. Good for him, I’m glad to see him do well and do us a favor at the same time. Just hope he stays quiet against us….
Now, whatever anyone else says…Man Utd will look onwards and upwards.
Think about it, if we had our full squad available, we are one of the hardest teams to play with, if not the hardest.
Go Man Utd! LUHG!
Re Redmod
Spot on mate with your comments about Berbatov. No argument he’s a classy player, but we’re at our most lethal when we go at teams at real pace, and in my opinion Berba just doesn’t fit into that style of play, always slowing everything down.
i know it’s not always easy coming on well into a game, but whenever he comes on, the dynamic seems to change – he just doesn’t seem to have adapted to our style.
@King Eric:
Hi mate. I think they are talking about Premier League goals. Berba and Owen together have 10. Our OG tally is also 10. Fergie sign him up!
But OGs are part of the game and sometimes they are more special than normal goals. Example? Last night our goal was product of a beautiful move. Villa’s goal was a product of piss poor defending by us. Evans’ only mistake in the entire game.
@King Eric
You’re referring to ABU’s mate.
They always talking shite. 20 man United had 60% possession against 11 man Villa but it was apparently Villa who were held by United.
Loved the close up on MOTD last night showing the United fan with the G&G scarf on AND the Love United Hate Glazer badge.
One of our’s doing us proud.
What andy said.
@andy
There is a reason Berbatov has started most of our home games this season and he has started 1 out of the last 11 on the road. In away games, we need fast players to play on the counter. Like yesterday. And it was a shame Giggs got injured because he contributed to that a great deal. Maybe Owen would have been a more natural replacement for him than Berbatov.
But in home matches, especially against teams outside the top 4, he is very useful. We don’t play counter attacking football there and he can unlock opposition defences with one move. I like Berbatov, but I don’t mind if he is used sporadically if it means he is used more effectively.
re Costas
Take what you say entirely on board mate, I suppose I just feel the games without him do seem more exciting to watch – we’ve been spoilt recently with the blistering pace we’ve used to destroy teams, so just want to keep seeing that really!
King eric
hi mate.they do it intentionally to wind you up.lol
what better can you expect from the tabloids.they said united ‘held’ villa to a draw.shows how much they know and how much they make up.
I have just realised there is other people in the world that i hate more than John Terry, Liverpool, Stevie G, Man City, Bellamy, Tevez, Sepp Fatter, Michel Platinydick, Fifa, Ueafa & The English FA!
Banks & Housing Association!
My Housing Association has made a mistake and taken money frommy account in December which made my account superseed its Overdraft Limit. in responce my bank has now hit me with total charges of £250!
If i kill someone under these circumstances could i blame my mental state & get a 3 month holiday in a padded room with Sky Sports, Xbox 360 Ps3 & a Sexy Nurse bringing me jungle juice 3 times a day?
@andy
Yeah me too. And one main reason for that, more than Berba’s absence, is in my opinion Nani’s emergence. Unlike Valencia, I think he is better equipped as a winger to play 4-5-1 or 4-3-3. In the form he is now, I think he will probably start at Milan.
@AIG
Lol, you noticed that too? And here I was, thinking how unlucky we were not to get all 3 points. I didn’t know that in reality we kept the Villa monster at bay!
@Costas
I understand where your coming from with Nani, he offers more of a threat with his shooting and trickery. Specialy his trickery as by the time he gets to the byline there is a striker & attacking midfielder awaiting the cross! Specialy in a 451 formation.
Valencia in a 4–5-1 for me gets to the byline more often but because he is quick and all about pace although he is whipping in great crosses there at times is only the striker in the box!
nani 4-4-2 -Not as defensive orientated and i find Valencia the better option of the 2. When Valencia crosses we have 2 strikers in the box!
Villa held by 10-man United
what a joke. as i understood it’s skysports.
King Eric – i was joking about our own goals some days ago while arguing with Berba hater
aig, Alpha , Costas and Corea – Cheers lads.
I have to say Stan “bird beating YSB dogger” the VILLA fan was praising us after the game so not all bad. He said that United sides down the years know how to get points in adversity and how this side were no different. He said that we used all our know how and experience to take the game to Villa. He said that we know better than anyone how to “keep the ball”. Fucking hell, Stan praising United! Whatever next?
@trevor
I agree. Different players for different systems. It’s good to know that when all of them are fit, there are so many different systems we can play right?
Unfortunately, we are not lucky with injuries or suspensions this year. As if the red card to Nani wasn’t enough, Giggsy is out for 4 weeks:
http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=%7BB4CEE8FA%2D9A47%2D47BC%2DB069%2D3F7A2F35DB70%7D&newsid=6646283
@King Eric
Ha, that is something. And to be fair to them, Martin Tyler and Trevor Francis were alson raving about United last night. “Held by United”…
@Costas,
Giggs for 4 weeks is a loss!
trevor @ 14:50: “When Valencia crosses we have 2 strikers in the box!”
THAT only matters if he can find them with his crosses. The evidence so far is that he isn’t exactly a carbon-copy of SirDavey of BeckinghamPalace in terms of his deliveries.
Well done Saha but, that delivery by Landon was brilliant. United really needs to start getting deliveries like that. For all the corners we get, we really are poor in that department.
Thank goodness Owen Ghoal is having a World Player of the Year season for us – is giving Rooney a run for his money.
The fact that we got rid of Saha for nothing still irks me. I all ways rated Saha as a player. He has so many attributes, he’s quick, powerfull, 2 footed, fantastic in the air, and his control on the chest when bringing the ball out the air second to none. Shame we never got to see the best of him on a regular basis.
Gary because of his injurys, its very easy to say oh what would happen if this and that and you fail to look at the bigger picture saha’s has helped everton beat chelsea, if saha was still with united chelsea would have won.
Gary, you’re out of your mind. Saha’s injury problems at United were absolutely ridiculous. He wasn’t right in the head – a hypochondriac by all accounts. He might be a fantastic striker on his day but he offered nothing to United when he was lying on the treatment table, which was most of the time, unfortunately.
