VIDEO: Norwich 1 – 3 United (92/93)

Norwich has confirmed their place in the Premier League for next season so what better time to reminisce on a meeting between our two clubs from the first Premier League season.

Playing at Carrow Road, United went 3-0 up within the first 20 minutes, thanks to three superb goals from Giggs, Kanchelskis and Cantona.

Mark Robins, the man who “saved Fergie’s job” (but didn’t actually, apparently) scored a consolation goal for our opponents after signing for them for £800,000 at the start of that season.

Norwich went on to finish 3rd that season whilst United claimed our first title since 1967.

Thanks STR for sticking a nail in my head….. I was just about to go to bed and you post this.

Now I have to stay up and enjoy one of the hundreds of great moments we have as a club.

What I will lose in my pay for missing work tomorrow I will bill you. Love you to bits you United nut head

  2. hesselbom says:

I apologise for my lack of United history knowledge but who was the player, no. 8, setting up Cantona for the third goal?

  3. dan says:

    It’s that cunt Paul Ince.

  4. Costas says:

Counter attacking the shit out of them.

  5. james21 says:

Paul Ince is the number 8.
Carrow rd hadn’t been a happy hunting ground for us. Norwich always seamed to beat us. This game was classic. Bryan Gunn their keeper is still there behind the scenes. Really top Guy.

  6. CedarsDevil says:

I cannot believe Giggs is still playing since then!! Fucking magnificent

  7. CedarsDevil says:

Ince was no cunt when he played for us…… Do not give a shit what he did after he left, while at United he was fantastic

  8. RedLife says:

How fast did we hit them on the break? A team full of pace. we ripped them a new arshole.

  9. King Eric says:

Chuffed to be playing the likes of norwich and QPR again. Hopefully Forest too. This game was a huge game in the title race as norwich had been flying. We ripped them apart particularly this first twenty or twenty min. Counter attacking at its very best.

Some superb posts on the last thread by Kings MG Cedars etc. Seriously can’t be arsed getting bogged down with all this bitching about team and fergie. Some huge games coming up so would rather put my energies into those. Suffice to say what a cunt barclay is. Making out fergie the antichrist of football. Fuck off you Wenger loving cunt, United being big news has kept you and your fucking abu cronies in a job the last two or three decades. How the fuck he can compare fergie with that arrogant egocentric cunt mourinho is laughable.

  10. james21 says:

Ince was a great player and a good servant to Utd. He got a little big headed calling himself the Guvnor. Probably more down to us chanting ‘Paul Ince is the Guvnor’ This sealed his transfer to Inter Milan. He did gesture to the Streford end fans while at Liverpool so maybe some can justify calling him a cunt.

  11. Kings says:

King Eric – Hello mate. Yeah me and Cedars were talking about this fantastic game the second Norwich confirmed promotion. Loved that season mate. You should go on that previous thread and see what that clown David – who is an Arsenal fan – has to say for himself. Suffice to say he is digging a very big fucking hole for himself with his shit comments. I’ve had a go, Cedars likewise, I think it would be fitting if you nailed that cunt as well mate. Oh and that Barclay is an odious cunt. Fucking hope something happens to him mate.

  12. King Eric says:

Kings. Ha. Still chuckling at dave beasant, carl leaburn and legwinski. Quality. Some excellent posts to those gooner clowns as well.

  13. Kings says:

King Eric – Yeah Norwich, QPR (Hopefully they won’t get nailed with a points deduction) and hopefully Forest will be fantastic mate. Reminds me of Old school seeing those names in the Premiership again.

  14. Kings says:

King Eric – And Jason Lee mate – ruthless finisher in his pomp!

  15. King Eric says:

Kings. Hello mate. You beat me to it. Yeah those posts to David were hilarious. Keep it up pal. Just out with wife at minute so cannot spend long on here tonight. See you in a bit.

  16. Kings says:

King Eric – No problem mate. According to him we are a ‘Glorified Bolton’. Silly cunt.

  17. CedarsDevil says:

    james21

Not forgiving him buddy and all those wanting to call him a cunt may do so with pleasure. I would just rather hang on to good memories….

  18. NotoriousRedDevil says:

What a game! Brings back fond memories. Back then Ince was my favourite player. He may have pissed off all the United fans with what he did when he left Italy but when he had THE Red Shirt on. What a player.

  19. smithy99 says:

@CedarsDevil. – Agree with you totally on Incey mate. He was a fantastic servant for United. I loved watching him play for us. Always gave everything. He was part of the beginning of the domination and none of those players should ever be forgotten for the part they played.

  20. smithy99 says:

BTW – what a driving run from Ince to set that third goal up! Fuckin brill!!!

  21. CedarsDevil says:

    smithy99

What we would give for a Keane & Ince midfield these days hey? Although in my own dream world the perfect center pairing for us would be Keane and Robbo… Imagine that, teams would run off to their busses rather than face them 2 on the field

  22. smithy99 says:

Cedars – A midfield warrior….We sadly lack this kind of player these days. Robbo, Keano, Incey etc. :(

  23. CedarsDevil says:

Before I piss off to bed, imagine this lads and lick your lips

A midfield trio of Keane, Robbo and Sir Bobby

On the flanks we have Sir Ryan and George Best and up front its Denis Law and King Eric

Do not think we even need defenders or a GK with them lot on the pitch!

    Love UNITED

  24. smithy99 says:

    @Cedars…fuck me mate i’ve just done a sexy wee…………lol

  25. mufc4life says:

@Cedars the thought of that has a nice smile on my face..off to bed now before the realisation that i’ll never see that kicks in:(

  26. Alfie says:

norwich being back should be good for our green and gold campaign!

  27. Kings says:

zigoo – Great news mate. If we had Atkinson or Dean we would have been fucked – both are cheating cunts who have no shame in fucking us over.

  28. Harry says:

Now the haters will say Webb helps United when we beat rent boys :)

  29. carloc1978 says:

went to this game what a 1st half it was!

  30. devil without a cause says:

howard webb to officiate our match against the rentys…………
i dont know my ears are humming or it is actually terry crying her heart out……….

  31. rat1p says:

cmon howard do us a favour, glad to hear webb is the official for the “game of the season”

  32. Cockney Red says:

Raw pace destroying Norwich. How did that team not win a European Cup?

  33. Xyth says:

Why we cannot be ruthless like this now?!!!!

  34. Robbinhood Savage says:

seriously, we shouldn’t care who the referee is. Let it be Howard webb or Mike Dean, we have to win it fair and square and we should win it. We are unbeaten at home and i am sure the title will be ours at the end of the match

  35. rat1p says:

dont take the ref for granted against the rentboys, especially after a bunch of questionable decisions

  36. MG says:

The press are already fucking fuming that Howard Webb is in charge of United

So it would have been fine to have got Atkinson again :)

Good Morning Manchester United – I see now that we have Webb officiating Chelsea will not get fucked up decisions – even playing field – that’s all we want

Hallelujah – it also means that the in a roundabout way the FA have in closed doors admitted that the decisions have gone against us – and no matter what – they can’t touch Sir Alex for Sundays comments because he was right – he was right to say Vidic hand balled and he couldn’t do that – but the ref never saw it – he was right to say the ref saw the Mikey Owen incident but never gave the decision – it’s a laugh out loud moment again with the press back to their snarling best wanting Sir Alex docked

Yipeeeeeee! Bring it on – that’s what we want to be treated fairly and guess what all of us now now unlike the last time we played chelsea in the league that they can’t get away with it
