Zibbie – i must have been watching another game which mahesh wasn’t watching, i thought cleverly had an influence on that game. He demanded the ball and linked up play. He’s not overrated at all but he needs to step up this season.
Rafael played very well today and his goal showed the brazilian flair side. Takes the ball with one shot and rifles it past the keeper. He’ll hopefully nail down that right back position.

Tom Cleverly over rated? He’s still maturing, come back in 2-3 years and then we’ll discuss it. He won player of the season at Watford and was one of Wigan’s best players.
He spent a lot of time injured last season and struggled getting fit so again how can you say he’s over rated. What grounds do you have? From what I’ve seen he looks pretty good and a great prospect.
He played pretty well tonight for GB.
@Samuel – I am glad you saw it that way, and I would love it for me to be wrong – but for me he’s just a few fractions slower, and less imaginative to make him anything more than a backup player for united. Put his side to side with even Kagawa and you can see what he’s missing.
I do not see TC23 as the kind of player who can dictate play, plain and simple. He actually does the simple things well, but has never shown that genuine spark of creativity and control. But that’s just me – but yes, if he wasn’t English he would have definitely had a more modest reputation – if he wasn’t at United, he again would have had a more modest reputation.

mahesh – As james21 said, cleverly still isn’t the finished article. Has had constant injuries and needs more games to increase confidence but tonight, he was one of the best players on the pitch. He needs to be more authoritative to exert more influence on games. Calling him overrated does not add up, no one said he’s scholes replacement yet.

Been saying this for a while and as much as I rate Clev the less he plays the better he gets. His absence was making people rate him up there as heir to Scholes. Tom himself even carried away with all that TC23 stuff.
Clev great ability great potential but yet unproven at the highest level.
Further on my point, he needs a season and he will put all doubt to bed. Samuel and James are spot on

Mahesh – to be fair I think TC is going to do just fine for us this year, as mentioned by Jamesy, he unable to get his fitness back in time and get back into the flow of the team last year but I don’t doubt that given 1st team time he’ll be back to the early season form we saw. I didn’t think he stood out much until near the end of the match when he started running and pushing play forward today but whether that’s due to the pathetic formation and managing style of Pearce or that he wasn’t “on” I couldnt tell you.

Clev did fine in my opinion. He is pint sized and when u consider de size and de power of those senegalese midfielders he was up against today, i tink u‘ll agree wit me dat he did well. If we look at this from a different angle, rafael & fabio was signed via one of the youth tournament that Man Utd hosted a few years ago.
If only we haven’t done that back then, and we’re on the look for a right back now and was particularly interested in Rafael, after his starring performance in the olympic game, he’d cost us in the region of 20M maybe more with greedy agent in between.
We have done a good thing by improving our scouting network and start bringing in talent from around the world at a young age.
SAF has a lot of patient to let this talent nurture through our academy and reserves and pick the cream of the crop to be integrated into the 1st team.
As such we no longer need all the 30M, 40M marquee signings every season to compete.
It gives that wee bit of extra satisfaction to create our own star.
I would love to see TC23 and Welbeck and even Bebe given the priority and opportunity to develop into a fine player at Old Trafford.

Rafa congrats. Read the reviews and many said he has a great game for Brazil. Really happy for him. I still cannot understand why he isn’t our First choice RB. As much a s I love Jones but he is not a RB. I hope Sir alex does the right thing and Makes rafa as our first choice RB.
As far as Tom goes I am happy eh is playing in olympics. He needs experience. He is not a finished article. He will be 23 this august so he still has time to be a top player for us. The only thing he needs is a injury free season. He cannot play 5 games and then miss 10 games. Thats why I ma happy he is playing in olympics.

I hate chelsea very much but have to say they have signed a real deal in oscar. I am not that impressed with their other signings but this Oscar lad is looking great. 25 million. I don’t know why we are not able to sign players at first go. Yeah we have signed kagawa who is bloddy awesome but we need to sign one more midfielder. Oscar could have been great. I hope we sign the Lucas kid. If we wait for one more season then he may join the virus or Barca.

In the game against argentiena I saw him playing as a central midfielder. I think that is his favorite position. He is an attacking player but can play like a box to box midfielder. He play is like that of Khedira. But you are right chelsea have made some poor signings. I said that from day one that chelsea’s tactics are baffling. They are buying every player as attacking midfielders. So I won’t be surprised if chelsea is one dimensional and does something stupid.

Sandy, Awesome compilation of Petrucci. Thanks for that. I was unfortunate enough to miss the first half of the match against Shanghai but that video did highlight everything about the lad.
That video showed all of Petrucci’s great qualities. The willingness to receive the ball and keep the play moving. And his chip pass which should’ve resulted in a goal also showcased his vision and creativity. He really does look comfortable playing with the senior members. Add to that is the fact that he got offers left and right when he was injured but chose to play on at United. Players like him and Tunnicliffe are who that impress Sir Alex most. They have a lot of talent but also passion to play for United. I am really excited for both of them this pre-season and hope they feature more in the regular season as well, now that Sir Alex doesn’t look like he’s bringing a new MF in.

I feel out of all our youngters Petrucci and Lingard look the most likely to be making more of an impact this season, although I really hope Tunnicliffe improves on his performances cus he could be a REAL asset to us. Obviously I don’t really see that happening this season but as always I’m ready to be proved wrong by our talented youth

Harish, Some of the good action/thriller films from this year are The Grey, Haywire, Raid: The Redemption, and The Hunger Games. Prometheus is a science-fiction film that I enjoyed though I cannot say the same for everyone else. And of course, if you haven’t seen it by now, Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is easily a must-watch.

Escape to victory, Chariots of Fire, The Damned United (Brian Clough Biography) can’t really remember any good football movies off the top of my head. With the look of things I think sir alex believes he can get one more season from scholes. I personally feel that would be suicidal. Anderson is one of the most inconsistent player in the world. Tom is highly unproven but I have high hope on him. I still would welcome a midfield signing. I know we may give the youngster chance. But honestly guys I don’t think we will see that many chances given to youngsters. We saw that last season , Sir alex is a bit afraid now to give chances to the youth academy players. I am not saying we will not see youngsters play but not that much. To be fair on SIr alex i think he did give chance to phil jones, Rafael,De gea etc. Apart from the blackburn gam e where he picked a horrendous line up he gave some chances to the youngsters. But I agree more chances should be given. With what I ahve seen from powell I have to say he looks better than Pogba. and is also One year younger than pogba so Powell could be the real star in the making. I AM confident we will see him in action more. I would like to see tunni,Petrucci and other young kids feature more.Petrucci seems ready to feature in cameo role atleast. Same with tunni.
