Rio Ferdinand has spoken of the importance of Manchester United signing Robin van Persie, agreeing with Chicharito’s statement that competition for places will only improve the performances of our strikers.
“He scored 35 goals, he was their player of the year, their captain, and for us to take him and bring him here is fantastic news and I’m sure our fans are jumping for joy,” said Rio. “There are players who play in his position, who are now going to be thinking I need to up my game now to make sure I’m in the Manager’s thoughts and get in the team… we need to challenge people.”

I mean why in the world have we signed RvP. He only became player of the year last year. He contributed only 39% of Arsenal’s goals…what ridiculous figures for a top class striker…the only good part about the deal is we will be saving taxes on the wages we will be paying him…otherwise this deal makes no sense at all
