   Great goal and a solid performance from the team. Would have been a waste to go out at this stage to be honest. Shows how much we need Rio. Even though he seems lazy, but he brings some type of confidence. Also ans constant basher of Rooney I got to say that he covered O’Shea really good today.

   It’s not often at this time of the season when you say that performance is more important than result but I really felt that the performance tonight was the main thing. For the 1st time in a number of weeks we looked like the real deal again. This performance should give the players the confidence to go on and win as much as we can.

    39.6 yards to be exact. At first I thought (well, after I jumped around for 20 seconds) that helton shouldve saved it but what a hit. Ronny was great today. Whatever fergie said to him worked bigtime. He was chasing down players. Not in a carlito tevez style but there was the effort. Goal of the tournament and man of the match display. United also played much better tonight. Attacking, mostly tidy play and the defence looking back as it should be. Bring on the Gunners.

    The goal caught me by surprise really, because I took my eyes off the telly for a split second (the ball wasn’t even in the box) and then I heard “goal!” and I was like, huh? Then the reflexive shout of joy!

    He was asked about it after the match, on the Sky sports interview, he said…”It’s nothing,…I was happy inside,…sometimes I celebrate happy, sometime I celebrate….(he was looking for the word passion), I happy for the goal. He also said it was his greatest strike and that he hadn’t seen a replay of it. Asked about what SAF said, he said there is nothing. Asked about Refs, he said he has to respect the ref, they have a tough job, “sometmies good”, sometimes miss, I have nothing to say about the Ref etc. He also said that playing up top as a striker isn’t his prefered position
