What excites me most is that we are firing on three major fronts and yet we still have NOT hit top gear! Rooney’s form isn’t 100% back yet and his touch is still absent… we played half a season without Valencia… our preferred midfield is not set yet and it’s influence has been somewhat non-existent this season… and Hargo is still missing!!!

I think if these four areas get answered soon… then God have mercy on the rest of the Premier League teams because I think we can crush them all, even Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

WR10s goals required great service. Take nothing away from him for the first. Great vision from VDS, but the prince formerly known as rooney had alot to do and the chip was pure pure class.
Second goal was a solid finish from the prince, but ooooomy, that cross from Nani was a peach.
Third goal was great forward play from the prince, holding ground and then returning the ball to Vida.
Captain Vida stepped in a fired past what seemed like the entire Vila team.
Loved the first, Friedel didn’t even look, knew he was done and dusted.
Loved the third, entire villa team knew they was done and dusted.

3 beauties earned us 3 beautiful points. Well done lads.
Hope Fletch is OK.
Carrick was a great today, as was O’Shea. Pitty both got slagged by some so called fans earlier.

I really loved the first goal and Vidic’s goal was fantastic you wouldn’t believe that’s a defender’s shot but in United I believe that VDS can do that :p

I wish Arsenal and Chelsea games didn’t end like that but this season we really shouldn’t bother ourselves with other teams’ results and just focus on ourselves and winning

Nani, Vidic and Giggs were exceptional again, whilst Rio and VDS were flawless.

The goal I was most happy with was the 2nd Rooney goal: it was just a simple tap in from a peach of a ball…. just like last season. They boy has still got it.

Vidic’s strike was one that said “HOW DARE YOU SCORE AGAINST US!”

Friedel always plays well against us for some reason – could have been a lot more and Wazza would have got his hat trick.

What people fail to understand is that this is the first game that SAF switched Rooney and Berbatov back to what they were last season – with Berbatov as a second striker and Rooney as our No.9 type player who got the goals – it suggests that either SAF does not have enough confidence in Berbatov to play him forward in squeaky bum time, or he thinks Berbatov’s all round game is better.

Either way, I would prefer Rooney remain as SS – he can link with the MF better and it keeps our pace high so we can dictate tempo.

And, unlike you, some people need more than one MOTM performance before they will start feeling the love for Rooney again. From what I gather, Scott wants Rooney to do well and start banging in the goals as much as the next guy, he’s only been criticising him because he hasn’t been doing that (until now) which isn’t acceptable after treating the club with such disrespect and demanding such an obscene salary. Scott has also highlighted the inconsistencies in the treatment of Rooney and Berba by certain fans, which is a very good point considering Berba’s attitude towards the club puts Rooney to shame.

A goal’s a goal, regardless of who it’s from. It’s not like Rooney’s doing it for charity, and it is way overdue as well. I was happy to see a goal go in, but that’s cheering for the club because we will maintain our lead. As a player for the club, Rooney has much to go, but that’s me. Some supporters forgive and forget more easily than others, and there’s no need to go around imposing your own standards on others.

I still remember, one or two corners before Vidic scored, I was thinking I haven’t seen a headed goal from him for a while, and his two arms flailing celebration… and he goes to score with a wicked strike, but only flailed one arm. Hah!

I dont like it when we have a dogshite of a team on the saturday and 10 of the 11 players are thinking about the coming Wednesday against Bayern Boxhead or Real Madras only to lose the easy match.

Because Berba is definetely a 442 striker and he NEEDS a world class partner. And also it seems Sir Alex himself put on a lot of weight in that partnership, which was not the case prev. seasons…

What I find curious about the ABU press is that they seem to think that because the LadyBoy ONCE got the better of Nemanja Vidic (several years ago) that he ALWAYS had his way with UTD’s defence. It’s not true – and their wishing for it to be so doesn’t change the facts but, like the FSW, they don’t let the facts get in the way of “fachts”.

Mostly, though, I ignore the ABU press – except when they’re having to choke on their own bile. Otherwise, they simply can accept the fact that “Not Arrogant, Just Better” is a fair assessment of the dominance that UTD have exerted in the EPL since its formation – eleven (going on twelve) out of 18/19 is tough for them to swallow. It’s a joy to watch them choking. No need to take them at all seriously.

Berbatov because he is a
footballer like very few
footballers. He has an air of
insouciance and when at the
peak of his form, an

second to none. The way he can
hit a pass or a shot with the
outside of his foot is to watch a
true artist at work.
The best footballers always
seem to have time and space; as
though the universe moves
slower for them than for the
mere mortals who surround
hem, and Berbatov has always
had that unhurried quality.
Granted, he won ’t be Mr
Consistent for any side. He
won ’t give you a seven out ten
performance week after week,
but such predictability is for
lesser talents.
In some ways he ’s a throw back
to the days when football was
more about skill than athleticism.
When it was a slower game full
of men who had talent to burn,
looking to beat the opposition
with flair and style. The likes of
Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles,
Eddie Gray and even George
Best, often created similarly
divided opinion. Like Berbatov
they would blow hot and cold
but then again, I ’d argue it is to
such rare talents that we turn
for the genuine brilliance in
football; the very inconsistency
an expression of the precarious,
the difficult nature of the game
they instinctively want to play.
Berbatov is a football artist. His
art may never appeal to the
masses but perhaps that is
always the case with real
brilliance.

Little disappointed as a daily RoM reader and a life-long United fan that its been nearly 24 hours since the kick off vs. Aston Villa and RoM published no reaction to our victory. I just feel if Berba scored two and not Rooney, we’d have seen something by now. And in my opinion, that’s pretty messed up. I mean I love it here despite a lot of the bias that I’ve had to learn to ignore (green and gold etc.) but this just feels wrong. Quick to criticize, slow as a snail to give credit where its due for Rooney, it’s exactly like Berba haters have behaved.

Or maybe I’m wrong, maybe it’s just delayed but considering there are new items on the blog since.. I’m just disappointed.
