ROONEY looked rusty, but as game went on played better..

His goal helps England win the group

  2. WeAreUnited says:

    Not related to Rooney;

Sometimes I think that if we get Ibracadabra we vould get our number 7 and our “new” Cantona. He is very intelligent, whereever he goes he wins. No matter what.

And I know people will state that Ibra is arrogant…. Yes he is, but his teammates seem not to care, so fuck it, we could need an Ibra. I knwo we have Dannyboy Chicha and Rooney, but just imagine our team with Ibra, CRAZY!

Of course this is in fantasy land, the transfer for Ibra, cause he is almost 30, but if it was up to me, I would surprise the world and buy him!!!!!!!!!!! whatever it takes.

  3. Fred says:

Rooney the scapegoat. You called it, Scott!

  4. FletchTHEMAN says:

Cracking goal. Should have been 2 though.

    29 International Goal.

But Oi me. UKR should have had a goal as well. Still, well in to the United lads especially.

  5. bob says:

Massive respect goes to Gerrard tonight.
He’s really turned up in this competition.

Concerning England, well were abit crap but good crap:)
    C’MON ENGLAND!!

  6. Costas says:

    Good for him.

Liked what I saw from Iarmolenko by the way.

  7. Touché says:

The build up to the ghost goal was clearly offside…
Seriously, England had a decent game against a hungry Ukraine playing in front of its home crowd.

  8. Vidic says:

Every win under Hodgson came from a winner from a United player
    1. Young v Norway
    2. Welbeck v Belgium
    3. Welbeck v Sweden
    4. Rooney v Ukraine

  9. United Till I Die says:

Hardly Pele but that doesn’t mean he can’t drag England to a Final. Still has the first touch of a leper though??? Take tips from Welbeck and shake it off before August ta! Wouldn’t mind seeing him knockout Italy though, stranger things happen just don’t come back injured ffs!

  10. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Cracking goal?? LOL it was probably going in anyway. He couldn’t have missed if he tried.

Overall, Rooney played OK. He’s gonna need to get better if England stand any chance of getting past Italy, then probably Germany.

  11. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Cheats? ! Well done England

like gerrard said, we’ll soon see what England is capable of.

  12. Mikekelly12 says:

I think England and Italy are very similar but Italy are far better going forward!

  13. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Bring on Italy and Balotelli.

  14. WillieRedNut says:

I’m quids up for this result! Cheers wazza!

  15. Mikekelly12 says:

    Willie
Good lad. My 2-0 and 1-1 got fucked off!! First goalscorer at sixes is better than a kick in the bollocks!!

  16. FletchTHEMAN says:

@Phil. Well I aways try to give credit where do. You can be negative if you like. But the ball was pinging around like a pachenko ball and Wayne still had to get a head on it. Seen loads of misses from that range on balls that were better behaved as well.

So ya, cracking goal to our lad. Get in Wayne.

@Vidic. Well spotted. Long may it continue!

  17. WillieRedNut says:

Mikey – Cheers mate! This betting lark is hit and miss. You keep trying though. ;)

  18. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Being a neutral this year…well now !

I think England would have preferred Spain.
Despite monopolising possession once again this year….Spains weaknesses are well known.

    - Shit full backs (Alba  & Arbeloa)
    - Erratic centre backs that go walk about — Ramos and Mr Shakira
    - They have no striker – Torres despite 2 goals is no footballer.
    - They can’t shoot outside the box.
    - They get carried away with passing the ball into the net, its Arsenal-esque.
    - They unlike Barca can be attacked because they are wasteful.
    - On the back foot, very disorganised. Terrible dealing with long balls and can’t handle counter attacks with one-on-one situations ( 4 vs 4).

Spain are no Barcelona, they lack the full backs (Alves) and the striker (Messi)…Alba,Arbeloa,Torres,Cesc, are average replacements. They can be beaten. With Puyol,Villa,Messi and Alves out….I don’t see Spain winning this Euro’s…the smart moneys on the Germans and the surprise contenders are ….. Portugal????.

    ;)

Italy’s only apparent weakness is that they have no wingers and Ballotelli is a loose cannon that can get himself sent off. Ballotelli is wasteful, Italy are not.
    Italy look Massive this year.

Pirlo,Marchisio,Cassano,Cheillini,Motta,De Rossi,Bonucci, Bufoon are a scary spine. They can build a team around 4 of he 8 above and still be beyond decent….very impressive, they outplayed spain at their own game but in the old italian fashion which was refreshing to see.

England have got the tougher draw imo. France is defo going out. Germans will progress and the Portugal – Czech game could be an upset.

  19. fitz'em'good'n'tight says:

    @Clint-Iamyourpapii

Dont think so, england will be chuffed they avoided spain.
Spain are much better than italy. i fancy england to beat italy and france to do italy.

  20. fitz'em'good'n'tight says:

    and spain to do france

  21. subadai says:

    It’s a goal.

But, wow. Seriously. That commentator needs to cut back on the whiskey and cigarettes or he’ll be talking through a hole in his throat in no time!

How do you say throat cancer in Arabic?

  22. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    fitz’em’good’n'tight

    good points for debate…..

Let me make a similar one too.
Holland was tipped to get to the semi’s this year.

    Here have one for free….
“Greece should have went out in the group stages of 04″.

All is not what it seems to the naked eye, I’m telling you, England would prefer Spain. If Spain are so good, why did they struggle against Italy and Croatia?

  23. FletchTHEMAN says:

Clint I agree. One of the reasons no one has any confidence in England is that they just don’t get into enough late stages of tournaments. You have to get used to playing together to have the ability to play and that only comes with highly competitive games.

Lots of comments about the Ukraine right back. But the problem was really down to communication between Ashley Young and Cole. Cole kept having to track out to the wing because Young wasn’t doing it. Roy needs to sort that out, but I bet we don’t see the problem v Italy. This was a game England should have one with an arm tied behind the back. They did it in the end. As Costas and other have said, Greece should never have made the late stages in 04 but did do. All is posible in tournaments.

    Bring on Italy.

  24. FletchTHEMAN says:

*** England should have won ***

  25. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Fletch

Thanks….Young’s had a shocker with Cole, can’t see how they can fix it, the understanding isn’t there plus Young is used to playing behind Rooney for England often and recently he’s been pushed out wide due to lack of form but to no avail.

They can’t drop Young but him being there is doing them damage when he loses possession and then Cole fluffs it as a result.

I think Young will be the England scapegoat for this tournament but its unfair that he’s already been singled out when he doesn;t play this role for England often. The Rooney-Welbz is the way forward for club+country….it’s a shame top lads like Chicha and Sturridge will miss out more often as a result but at least it keeps the likes of Carroll and Macheda away from starting.

  26. denton davey says:

Clint @ 00:21: “The Rooney-Welbz is the way forward for club+country….it’s a shame top lads like Chicha and Sturridge will miss out more often as a result but at least it keeps the likes of Carroll and Macheda away from starting.”

    What ?

  27. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    What? Fucking What ! Indeed

    :P

  28. Marq says:

Young would have had an assist if Rooney didnt mess up that chance early in the game. They wouldn’t drop Young because he is the only winger they have who knows how to hit a cross.

Another thing I find hilarious is how they described Parker’s performance. Summed up in one sentence. He ran more than anyone else

Btw, someone suggested we sign Ibra? Sorry mate, we already have a better version of him in Berbatov

ROONEY takes time to regain his touch after all types of gamespeed-time taken from him. At 18 it took 2,3 games now within a half you see imprvement. Dick heads.

Look at the game full replay, here by ESPN. His spacial guiness on play by his movement after the deflection. A 24 yard run to get the easey goals dip shits. A U turn to then split to defendes to get THE FUCKING SITTER!!

RICARD CRAIUMS THRIVE HERE!. Thank god so few as per the norm.

  32. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

England are shite. Apart from some half decent football in fits and starts they are disjointed and haphazard. I’m not saying they might not get to the SF of Final or even win it but their football is crap.
The Ukraines were miles ahead in terms of technical and tactical ability. The first real test will be against Italy as I don’t rate France as a big team.

Well done Wayne for the goal – you did fuck all else. Welbeck was poor too as he seemed to have left his touch in the dressing room. Young got some decent crosses in but will we ever see him take on his man? An honourable mention goes to no-one. England are as bad as ever. The only thing they do seem to have is a bit of belief and bulldog spirit but I fear that won’t be enough against more ruthless sides.

  33. T. says:

As usual CLLC cheats and gets away with it. in his trial I guess all of the jurors will be white clansmen with funnylooking sheets and pointy hats, appointed by FA.

  34. bayoRed says:

Great night for us who love Rooney and England but Scott Parker, Milner????? England can do better than these two.

  35. bayoRed says:

Funny how commentators and everyone keeps making excuses for them.

  36. parryheid says:

So France would rather face Spain in the quarters than Italy.Tells you something that does.

  37. United Till I Die says:

Imo Young has been England’s best performer for the last few season’s now. I’d say his international form sealed his OT deal as he’s assisted, created and scored more than anyone else for England in recent games. Woy can’t drop him, he has the ability to deliver the killer ball or fire it home himself.
