Have there ever been that many own goals in a single match? and I’m curious to know what the posters on this fine blog think about the team’s performance today.

Oh and Scott, congrats on the awards, mate, you deserve every one of them!

  2. RedDuck says:

Well Portsmouth did score after all, wouldn’t have thought they would. What a stunning finish by Marc Wilson for our 5th :D

  3. United John says:

Just got got back from the game. Another quality performance, once again we seem to have hit our form at just the right time. Good day at Old Trafford; the minutes silence was well observed and there was plenty of anti-Glazer chants and a good showing of green and gold – even the Pompey fans were wearing the scarves! Was sat near the away fans so had to put up with Mr Portsmouth and his chums constant bell ringing and drumming which was the only sour point of the day. Shame so many of our goals were chalked off as own goals. Berbatov’s goal was quality and Diouf and Owen seemed to link up pretty well and were unlucky not to score.

  4. chrispiano says:

glad to see Berbatov score, he’s level with Anelka

  5. Drabik says:

There has been 3 own goals in a premier league match before. Sunderland were the unlucky team.

However, I don’t think the second own goal should be an own goal – carrick should get that!!!

  6. Mauly says:

@united john… Were they really wearing g&g, I was near the family stand and thought united fans were in there!!! Minutes silence was fantastic and that score was for the babes….. Also, nano looks like he is really enjoying playing at the moment!!!!!

  7. aig alex is god says:

The Carrick goal has been given as an Own Goal at the moment.May change though. Possibly will go to the Dubious Goals Panel.

Thats 9 Own Goals that have been scored for us in this season.2nd highest scorer.Fergie sign him up indeed. LOL

  8. IFECO 4 UNITED says:

Lets take it to aston villa, wat a great performance rooney 21 prem goals 9ice one viva united and glory glory to manutd, i love ALL united fans on this blog Have a nice sleep tonight.

  9. Costas says:

I don’t think I have liked a Berbatov goal more. He has scored more crucial ones, but this one finally had some anger and some venom behind it. Reminded me of a goal Forlan scored against Villa in a 4-0 win in 2003.

  10. ZD Casuals says:

Yeah, been getting some flack from friends who follow other teams about the 9 own goals stat, but really, it just shows we’re pushing to score.

In today’s game, if Pompey didn’t just sit back and stick a foot out whenever we were shaping up to shoot, maybe they’d be better off… if all you call defense is put your foot out whenever we shoot, of course the ball will be pinballing around a dangerous area.

  11. United John says:

@Mauly, yeah they definitely were! I suppose with all they’re clubs money problems of their own they found it easy to sympathize with us! Another anti-Glazer banner was taken down pretty quickly by the stewards in the East stand although there was a huge green and gold one up in the Stretford end for a good while before the stewards got to it!

  12. mickey O says:

I must say that i really feel sorry for michel owen. The lad is a top class player and just cant seem to get a start in the team no matter what he does!! I am really starting to wonder why he even chose to come to united as in my opinion he should be playing week in and week out and gettin regular first team football elsewhere! I admire owens work rate and im sure that if fergie would give him a few games, he would definitely score a couple of goals for us! Great game today! Top of the legue and where we belong! Come on u red devils!

  13. The Edge says:

This own goal thing is going to get mentioned far too much. Chelsea get deflected goals EVERY fucking game.

    TEAM BRIDGE

  14. IFECO 4 UNITED says:

    I LOVE WAZZA!!!_ROONEY

  15. Jandsdad says:

    @ Tha Edge

ur right mate, a goal is a goal no matter who scores it.

  16. the scottish wonder says:

The form Rooney is in reminds me of Ronaldo´s 07/08

  17. Doghouse says:

Unexpected bonus of today’s game is that I think we killed David James’ career as England goalie. Least we should have. He was pish.

I was also very happy to see Berba score. He may not win over all the fans and any player can struggle to be seen as value on a £30m fee but for my money he’s proven himself in recent weeks.

Not sure why anybody mentions own goals to be honest. In my view an own goal is usually a reflection of an unplayable piece of attacking football, nothing to be ashamed of if you’re the team forcing them to happen. Of course some are caused by out and out muppet defending, but most are just a result of desperate defences throwing bodies at the ball.

  18. Mame looks just like 50c says:

I agree, mame put pressure on them and they scored an own goal. Pretty impressive

  19. The Edge says:

once Diouf has settled and played a few games he is gonna be a beast.

  20. Tony Starks says:

ahem.. kind of off topic.. interesting on Sky Spanish Football they are saying Real look like more of a team and better without Ronaldo… how ironic, I was thinking similar thing about us last week…

  21. aig alex is god says:

I dont think we look better or anything like without ronaldo it is just that we are getting used to playing without him which is reflecting in the recent performances

  22. giggs11gerrard0 says:

Professional performance 3pts and Cheslea’s goal difference wiped out, i predict a draw tomorrow and we will remain top. Massive game at Villa on Wed now! If we win there it could really put pressure on the rent boys!

  23. Sir Alex says:

Berbatov was excellent. You might call him lazy but you can’t deny the fact that his touches are magical. Performances like these will certainly keep his United career intact. Well done Berba!

  24. Mean Lean says:

I hope Arsenal can beat Chelsea tomorrow then its game on.

We are in a great situation so fingers crossed the boys can push on from here.

  25. Doghouse says:

Slightly off topic but is anybody else finding the state of the bitters amusing? They bring in Mancini as some sort of saviour but look at the state of him. He tries to play Catenaccio against the good clubs while not being able to organise a defence and he responds to being a goal down away from home against relegation contenders by wheeling out a knackered old defensive midfielder. Got to admire that innovative approach to attacking play there, almost worthy of the Fat Spanish Waiter.

All that money and all they’ve got is donkeys lead by a donkey. Warms my heart.

  26. parryheid says:

own goals are a result of severe pressure and pompey were getting plenty .way to go united.

  27. Zainab MUFC says:

Today before the match , on Sky Sports News. They were Showing Rio Ferdinand enter the Old Trafford and he was sorrounded by the supporters. One lad put a Green & Gold Scarf around Rio, and it took Rio like 2 minutes to take it of.

Good performance by the lads, dont give two cents whose goals they are . There in the net, & that’s all that matters. Everytime Berba seems to start he scores, which Im pretty happy with. As long as Berba plays regularly then he shall score. I love the Rooney/Berba partenership it clicks, and Diouf looked dangerous when he came on. I just feel for Owen… I really do =(

  28. Fred says:

Doghouse, I agree. Typical Citeh. Mancini has now lost more games this season than Hughes did. I wonder how the “trajectory of recent results” is going down with Garry Cock and the Sheikh?

I had a good laugh at Adam Johnson trotting out the “this is a MASSIVE club” line at his unveiling the other day. :-D

Zainab, don’t feel sorry for Owen. He’s absolutely useless and brings nothing to the team. Both games in which he and Diouf have been brought on together, Owen has been completely upstaged by the man from Molde. Thanks for the derby goal, Michael and all the best for you at your next club, be it Stoke or Hull. :-)

One more thing, am I imagining it or did Match of the Day highlights edit out the anti-Glazer chants? I watched the game on a stream today and the chants were going strong for just about the whole 90 minutes. But on MotD all I heard was “we all hate Leeds scum” – I didn’t notice that being sung on the stream I watched! So did they replace the anti-Glazer chants with generic United chants or am I completely wrong??? (Probably the latter!)

  29. King Eric says:

United John – Yeah I thought the Pompey fans had the green and gold on. At points in the second half it looked superb when all the scarves were waving to “Love United, Hate Glazer”. Felt sorry for Pompey and the fans, I have never seen a more beaten team. United played well though especially second half. Some great passing and movement. Carrick was excellent and seems to be finding his groove. Played the Scholes role today sitting deep and allowing Fletch to bomb on who also had a good game. Evans played well and got stuck in and a great save off the line. Really impressed with the wingers whose pace and skill caused havoc all day. Chuffed for Nani, real buzz around him at the minute. Everytime he gets the ball fans now believe summat will happen and it usually does. Berba was sublime in parts and I only wish Valencia had finished off his ridiculous over the top ball. Great finish although Ben Haim allowed him too much space and what a ball with the outside of the boot to Toni. Really adds a different dimension to United and I was pleased to see him get a good reception when he left the field. Rooney was just Rooney. Awesome. Well United firmly back on track and playing the United way. Chelsea will be shitting bricks.

8 unbeaten in the league. last 5 home games TWENTY scored and NONE conceded.

What the fuck is up with Vidic? taking the piss now.

  30. King Eric says:

Doghouse – The bitters situation is amusing me yes. They would have been better with Leslie Hughes in charge. They will now be playing the awful Mancini Italian way. Tevez on a goal drought now. Must look at United and Wazza and think “bastard”. As I have said all season I really don’t think they will finish top 6 and the suave Richard Madely will be down the road. Cannot believe the cunts over at Wastelands are calling him “Bobby Manc”. Even dressing like the twat.

I just knew the dippers would get 4th, again I said this weeks ago. Spurs and Villa will do the usual bottling trick. I cannot actually believe weeks ago when we were dropping points and the likes of Citeh, Villa and Spurs weren’t some idiot pundits said that one of those could win the league. What are they now about 15 points behind? Not worried about Villa. Massively over rated who will just sit and try and counter. We will play a 5 man with Scholes back and just pick them off. We are on a roll at the minute. Best thing is we then have a good 10 days to recover for Goodison.

  31. Fred says:

King Eric, I’ve had had a rant about Vidic in the “Rio reacts to Berbatov miss” comments section. Check it out and see if you agree.

  32. Fred says:

King Eric, I too thought we would use the 4-3-3 against Villa but after Rooney AND Berbatov were taken off with half an hour to go today, looks like we might see 4-4-2. Either way we should be too much for Villa to handle – bring ‘em on!

  33. King Eric says:

Fred – Yeah again I had to laugh at Johnson also. What has he let himself in for? He was talking about their ambition and winning trophies. City will struggle now. You saw how they laboured over the team last week we despatched in second gear today. Tevez will go on a drought I don’t wonder.

Anyway where are all the noisy bitters that were infiltrating this site post first leg? Jokers of the highest order. By all accounts they had even booked tickets to London and Hotels in anticipation of the final! I read in UWS today that at the OT second leg Citeh had asked permission for the TV camera’s to be allowed in their dressing room after the game in anticipation of their celebrations! Fuckin priceless.

  34. King Eric says:

Fred – Yes unfortunately I do agree. Something is seriously amiss but what? Perhaps he is injured but Fergie said he had trained for the last 3 games. If it is an attitude problem then I am disgusted. I have to say that Evans and Brown have played well the last few games and with Rio back and Smalling to join and get experience I ain’t too concerned. A shame if he does leave. Thinking about it he has played fuck all this season. Does anyone even see him sat with the lads watching United cos I haven’t?

Also yeah the fact he took Berba, Wazza and Fletch off had me wondering if he was resting him for Wednesday to play in a 4-4-2.

  35. King Eric says:

Have to say the minute silence was fantastic today. Not a single noise inside OT aside from the cunts in the corporate box behind me leaving their fucking telly on and rattling cutlery about. Cunts.

RIP THE BUSBY BABES. LEST WE FORGET.

  36. Tony Starks says:

hmm… I think we are making a Vidic story where there isn’t one – I don’t see the need to play him today when there are so many important games coming up… and where are the quotes saying he’s leaving, his agent is saying he’s not…

oh and Villa are one of the most boring defensive teams in the league, we will need the brains of Berba to unlock them

  37. Go United Go says:

Ya Tony Starks, let’s focuss on what’s ahead of us rather than speculating on Vida’s future. Picking up on an earlier comment which said LooserPool will get the 4th spot. For me it’s rather them than the idiots from the wastelands. Love to see spurs or Villa pick that spot though…..

  38. Edge says:

If we beat Villa than we are pretty much set for the league I honestly feel.

Berbatov and Rooney- pivotal on Wednesday (it is Wednesday right?). They are the key. If they both start we will win. Villa, along with Spurs and City, have bottled the top4 challenge and now is a great time to play them.

Nani is on fire. Easily can play him and Valencia in the same team.

  39. Edge says:

By the way I am previously “The” Edge but the “The” was annoying me. I’m not U2′s guitarist. Although that guy is one of my hero’s and the coolest person I’ve ever met.

Don’t get your hopes up for an Arsenal result tomorow. We’ve seen that Chelsea are team mate shagging shite but Arsenal are worse. I expect them to roll over.

  40. redinrwanda says:

what a perfomance! Champions in waiting?!!!!

  41. Corea says:

Yes, i also share the idea that Diouf can be big for us. All of the signs are there.

  42. Costas says:

Why wasn’t Carrick awarded that goal? Lampard has made a career of scoring deflected goals.

As far as Vidic goes, if he was ok, then he could at least have made the bench couldn’t he? We will see how he comes along over the next 3 games, but the signs are not good at the moment.

  43. cantona7 says:

just woke up.. been partying last night after the win (5pm here, the game was at 11pm last night) arrghh headaches now…

anyway i also thought Carrick should get that goal.

Rooney+Berba = 5-0, Rooney alone upfront= 3-1. I wouldnt dare imagine the scoreline without Rooney.

hurm.. back to sleep.. cant stand the headache..

  44. socratestee says:

People watch Owen and complain, but i don’t know if anybody has seen how he has played in the last couple times he has played. He has linked up well and his movement is fantastic, also he comes deep. I hope people would look at his overall gameplay instead of the fact that he hasn’t scored much. United!!!

  45. aig alex is god says:

Vidic isnt going anywhere.it would have been meaningless to play him yesterday if he isnt fully fit which i dont think he is.we need him badly for our next 3 games

  46. Its in my blood says:

Not convinced about the Vidic situation at all.
As King Eric mentioned, when did you last see him sat with the lads?
Whilst i’ll certainly support him in whatever period he remains with us, there seems to be a developing aura concerning him and it’s not a good one.
The mere fact that his agent has again said he is not going anywhere is not enough.
Vida himself seems far too astute to come out and say he wants out. That would make his time here untenable. The memory of how the fans reacted to Ronaldo’s refusal to commit long term to us will be fresh in his mind.
Significantly for me, it was SAF who has given the biggest clues that all is not well with him. Remember the ” i couldn’t tell you , i just couldn’t tell you ” remark recently?
Since then it’s the lack of clarity from SAF himself re Vida that continues to fuel the rumours for me.
I hope he stays but if his heart isn’t in it, go.
    United > Any one.

  47. Corea says:

Vidic has done nothing in order to provoke such a mess so far. Wait for one single wrong move and they will biry you, Vida.
In this case we aren’t better than fucking tabloids.
Yes, punish me guys. You are all entitled to your opinion even if it is based on hard night’s dreams.
And of course, it’s doesn’t matter what he has done for the club till now. Teher will be another Vida and then another ans so on. Respect at it’s highest order.
    End of rant.

  48. Corea says:

    *bury

  49. Alpha_RS says:

    @Corea
Didn’t Barcelona want to sign Vida for £30 million last season?
I actually believe he is a better defender than Rio.
Perhaps if we still had Pique we could have considered letting him go.
I am not convinced he is going to leave at all. Rio, Evans, and Brown for central defense leaves us a bit low on cover. No way will SAF let him go.

  50. Wazza says:

I don’t think Vida warrants concern..He’ll be back when he’s at his best..Prolly rested in lieu of the upcoming bigger games…

And Berba’s goal was such a deceiver!! Who would have expected him to have a go from such a lazy possession of the ball?

  51. Alpha_RS says:

    @Wazza
Agreed mate. Still don’t rate Berba though. Still prefer 4-3-3.
Still think Nani will get even better too!

  52. Costas says:

In fairness, the tabloids do fabricate a lot of stories, but they did predict the sales of Beckham, Ruud and Ronaldo. I don’t know if Vidic will go in the summer or not. All I do know is that his current injury situation is extremely frustrating and it’s not doing Fergie any favors either. How many times has he falsely predicted that Vidic would be back for the next game this past month alone? 4? 5? When he got the injury before the Leeds game, he was supposed to be out for 10 days.

  53. Its in my blood says:

    @ Corea

Yes, i agree we’re in danger of behaving like the tabloids.
My point was really only an opinion, a gut feeling that there is something amiss.
I sincerely hope i’m way out with this, i’d be happy to be!

  54. Wazza says:

    Alpha_RS
We might have to tinker with that. As it appears now, Fergie is consolidating a 4-5-1 for outclassing teams with our midfield, something he has been attempting from quite some time. I take it the 4-3-3 is makeshift in our 4-5-1 but I don’t see us adopting a strict 4-3-3 anytime soon.

  55. Corea says:

It’s all about respect. He deserves some of it after some of the past seasons.
It’s just shows what a shocking world we live in right now. You don’t need to do much in order to turn into villain once being a hero.
    Disgusting.

  56. Corea says:

Its in my blood – it’s okay, mate. but as you said we are in danger and should be very careful because at one moment we can do this:

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
    (c)

  57. ganesh says:

hey does anyone know what music is playing in the background?? in the video

  58. Costas says:

    @Corea

Hi mate. Respect works both ways. This season, we are constantly hearing reports about Vidic’s wife being unhappy and teams like Milan or Real wanting to sign him. The club haven’t commented on the rumors at all and Nemanja and his manager have only denied them about this season. In the summer, only God knows as a friend of ours used to say.

That’s not too respectful towards the fans who named Nemanja player of 08-09 is it? What are we fans supposed to think? I don’t connect his injury to this situation. That’s just further incompetence by our “fantastic” medical team.

  59. King Eric says:

Costas – Hi mate. I wondered exactly the same thing. Why wasn’t Carrick awarded the goal. Much like last week I even think Nani should have got that goal at the Emirates. The keeper touched it in. How many times do keepers get touches? All the time. Thought Carrick was superb yesterday. Everything went through him much like the Arsenal game. Good to see him regain his form after some awful performances earlier in the season. Great record now at home. last 5 games 20 scored and none conceded.

  60. chrispiano says:

Well whoever said we get a 10 day rest before everton, not really mate. 6 days after Villa we’re playing Milan away and 4 days later Everton so I think Everton away is going to be difficult. Milan have had some bad form recently, hopefully they continue it. Pato has been out for a while now, anyone know if he’ll be back for the United game, I fucking hope not.

On Vidic: perhaps we’re making sure he’s fully fully fit before risking him, we’re about to have the 2 legs of the CL, Carling cup final and some difficult PL games theres no point in him coming back for 1-2 games if he’s going to be out for 3 or 4 weeks again.

  61. Doghouse says:

England have Bulgaria in their Euro 2012 group, will be entertaining to see what Berba can do against Ingurlaaaand (probably nowt, as the rest of his team sucks). It’s actually a pretty tough qualifying group, as qualifying groups go.

  62. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Hi mate. Doing some stats of your own I see? ;) Also, we have the best league record at the moment with 5 wins and one draw. Carrick and Nani’s(at the Emirates) goals should be awarded to them, I agree.

Carrick, as well as a few others have hit top form recently. Fletch, Evra and Rooney have been superb the entire season, but in the last few weeks Carrick, Evans, Nani and Rafael have also stepped up. Don’t want to sound boastful, but I really hope we set the record straight this Tuesday.

  63. Edge says:

This is when it matters and were delivering. I’m no good with fixtures, can someone tell me the next few league games after Villa and Everton. Thanks.

  64. Costas says:

    Berbatov against England. Nice!

  65. McQueen says:

I couldn’t watch the game yest and have only seen highlights. Was just wondering if someone could tell me how Nani did? Did he manage to take his form over to the left flank?? Seemed decent from what i saw but was hoping for an opinion from someone who saw the whole game.

As far as Vidic is concerned I’m inclined to be hopeful and believe that everything is alright with him. Let’s be honest, none of us really know and I don’t think there is enough evidence to start with the doomsday predictions just yet! I am confident we will see him back in action soon.

  66. King Eric says:

Chrispiano – Shit yes that was me. Forgot about the bloody Milan game sandwiched in between.

Costas – What do you mean in your last post about Berbatov. As for MY stats, no not really. Just repeating what they said on Footy First last night mate!

Yeah like you say various other players are hitting form at the right time, must be United’s training methods. Just popped on the blue half’s Manchester Evening News site. Hilarious, absolutely priceless. Are there a more fickle bunch of fans? They now want “Bobby Manc” tm out! Saying he has not a clue. Well like someone said last night not sure he has. Chasing a game away from home and he introduces……………………………………………Viera. Fucking Viera. The most amusing part is they actually seem shocked that none of their players display any “passion, fight or pride for the shirt”!!! The club is rotten to the fucking core. It pains me but I would much rather see the dippers in 4th than those clowns.

Talking of the dippers did anyone see Captain Stevie leading by example? Yeah proper getting stuck in to the fights. Also good to see his starfish routine has returned.

  67. King Eric says:

Costas – Ignore the bit about Barba. Just realised Ingerlund have drawn Bulgaria.

  68. King Eric says:

McQueen – Yeah Nani had a decent game again albeit not quite as effective on the left. I would like to see them swap wings although yesterday at times they did alternate the front positions. Berbatov dropped to the right flank and Valencia went inside.

  69. King Eric says:

Talking of Nani has anyone seen how he has bulked up? Really stocky now and his thighs are muscular as fuck. He rarely gets outmuscled on the ball. Really exited by him to be fair. I have been a critic but the signs are there. Starting to get people off their seats.

  70. chrispiano says:

    @ Edge
    10 Feb – Villa
    16 Feb – AC Milan
    20 Feb – Everton
    23 Feb – West Ham
    28 Feb – Villa
    6 March – Wolves

  71. McQueen says:

Thanks King Eric, that’s good news. I wouldn’t have expected him to be as effective on the left but it’s good to hear he still had a decent game which is a massive improvement on previous performances! It’s amazing what a bit of confidence can do to a player, I just pray that it continues because it’s obvious he can be a great player. I agree with your observations on his physique too, the guy is a bit of a beast these days! Similar to the transformation c. ronaldo went through in that respect.

  72. Belgo-Irish Red says:

I’m loving the video’s background music!

  73. Costas says:

    @KIng Eric

Yeah, Nani has bulked up a bit. But I have to say that his confidece is unbelievable. There was an incident near the tunnel in the first half where Neville boots a long ball at him and he took it on his chest and brought it down. Great stuff. Reminded me of Cantona.

I have to say though, that playing on the left limited him a bit. He is a right winger.

  74. Corea says:

Nani is starting again to show some signs of the player Ronaldo was for us. In terms of fearlessness, speed and technique.

Costas – hi mate. i don’t know what to say, pal. i think i’ve said enough.
i respect the player, he has been a brilliant player for us. He is made for this club and by no means i want him to go.
If i had the tools i would have thought for him to stay where he is. But i will understand him if he goes because the reasons for this should be really serious. And if he goes i will say a big thank you for what he’s done for this club.
It’s really depressing to hear comments about the players who are going to replace him, that he is the past etc. He is our fucking player.

  75. aig alex is god says:

Everton game is after milan?.i thought it was next weekend before milan.are they still in the fa cup?

    Sorry for saying this but,

    Come On Arsenal

  76. Taper Jean Girl says:

Is it true that if pompey go into admin before season’s ends our results are null and void?

  77. Fred says:

Taper Jean Girl, I don’t think that will happen. I think that scenario was made up by some scouser who used it as proof that Liverpool could still win the league (because if games against Portsmouth were voided, Chelsea, United and Arsenal would all be 3-6 points worse off, whereas Liverpool lost to them anyway!)

  78. trevor says:

If the everton Game is after milan i think this one is where we will drop points. I know we have a big enough squad but going to Everton who are a hard working team will be very difficult!

With regards to the Yellow and Green protest! All know im against it as i dont think the glazers have yet done anything to warrent it!.Come the summer if fergies spending is squeezed or they do something wrong i will join, Till then im happy enough!

There were some reports that the glazers were slated for selling yellow and green murchandice at the Mega store! That made me laguh, what would make me laugh even more is if Fergie does get a 100mil transfer kitty this summer and also The Glazers change the second kit to Yellow and Green that would make me double over in two!

I dont like the fact that the glazers have bought the club in debt, but the club is still in a very strong position. Lets all get behind our bloody team and be that 12th man! Not 11.5th Man and a 0.5 of a man anti glazer!

  79. les says:

i think berbatov is the best striker in the world

  80. Fred says:

Trevor, you must be a fucking WUM. Run along and daydream about all the big stars we’re going to buy with that £100m transfer kitty, you deluded cunt. Leave the real United fans to worry about what the fucking parasites are doing to our club. LUHG.

  81. King Eric says:

    McQueen – No worries mate.

aig – Hi pal. No Everton is the 20th as I am going.

Costas – I think our recent record in the league is won 7 and drawn 1. Championship winning form. Hull away, Wigan at home, Brum away, Wolves at home, Burnley at home, Hull at home, Arsenal away and Pompey at home.

  82. King Eric says:

Costas – Yeah that chest down and juggle near the tunnel was sheer class. Did you see Rooney’s ball juggling skills second half?

  83. trevor says:

    Fred

We have had words on a previous Thread! Your insults mean nothing to me! Have a lovely day!!!

  84. trevor says:

Bloody Hell. I missed the Juggleing!

Thats what happens when your watching on sopcast! 4 inch screen!

With broadband speeds there really should be a site you could join and maybe pay 5-10 quid a month and get all the matches in Good Quality so you could watch them on full screen!

Anyone know of any! Sopcast is alright as you can get to follow the game for free. If i found an alternative id bloody ditch sky and just watch online!

  85. aig alex is god says:

    King Eric

Hi mate. Thanks. So we do get a break before the Milan game unlike Chelsea.

Hope the gooners can get something today. I have a feeling they may get something today, they certainly have a good team. Only need to stop Drogba and they will get the points

  86. King Eric says:

Come on lads, no need to argue. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I see the Rodwell rumours have resurfaced.

  87. McQueen says:

So Trevor you do not believe Fergie’s spending has already been sqeezed? This ‘no value in the market’ stance I am not convinced about. It may be true for some high profile players but we should have strengthened our midfield more after making 80 miliion from the sale of one player. The Glazers will feed off this club like a vampire and will eventually leave us a pale shadow of our former selves once they have had their fill. The green and gold protest was a great idea where we CAN unite in protest without it affecting the team. It’s genius and I applaud the folks who came up with the idea!

Now… I won’t say this many times in my life, but COME ON ARSENAL!!!

  88. trevor says:

    @ King Eric!

Just ignore Freds comments directed to me! We have had words on a previous thread.

He feels the need to have a pop whenever he can, if it makes him feel better then let him!

  89. trevor says:

    @McQueen

Im not yet sure if it has or not, I have beleif in fergie, and i dont think he would stand for his transfer kitty being squeezed!

Come the end of the season and it is crystal clear it is squeezed then the glazers ownership has effected the club, I will then whole heartedly join the Yellow and Green! For now im against it. Although i respect their opinion

  90. Edge says:

Arsenal are shit. Matter of time before Drogba overtakes Rooney.

  91. hurr says:

    Same old bottling lolsenal…

  92. trevor says:

    @ Edge,

Arsenal have played fantastic attractive football over the years but what wenger fails to comprehend is that it is pointless! Winning is what the league & cups are about!

If for example Arsenal took on averabe of 20 passes to get into the opposition half. United, Chelsea would take 10.

  93. aig alex is god says:

Are arsenal so shit that they cant even put up a fight against United or Arsenal?. i expected them to do well because its a do or die situation for them but they are seriously shit

  94. bigphil2003 says:

Berbatov took his goal well, but overall he still didn’t inspire me to be worried if he’s left out in the next game. Carrick has come on leaps and bounds in the last month or so and is starting to show the form he hasn’t really shown since this time last year. Overall it wasn’t a brilliant performance but we scored five goals and din’t look in trouble at all so I’m happy with that! If we keep up our good form we will win the league, because Chelsea WILL slip up.

  95. Costas says:

    Shit, Chelsea are winning.

    @King Eric

I missed Rooney’s skills. In the second half I wasn’t paying attention to the stream all the time. By the way, if Rooney had got to the ball before the Brum defender at Birmingham, he would have scored in his last 7 Premiership games.

As far as our program goes, starting with AC MIlan, it’s a game every 3-4 days fir the rest if the month. The Everton game is 4 days after the trip to Milan.

    @Corea

I echo what you say about Vidic. I am not denying his class. However, if he is going to leave the club, I wish the club and him were more honest with us.

  96. hurr says:

Done and sealed! Looks like we’re have to do this ourselves…

  97. aig alex is god says:

United look to be the only team who can handle Drogba well. Liverpool and Chelsea struggle big time against him

Got my hopes up for no reason. Arsenal are shit. Looks like we will have to do it ourselves when they come to Old Trafford

  98. Edge says:

hate him so much. HATE the twat. His celebrations make me change the channel.

  99. DEVILisRED says:

pretty fucked arh arsenal, 2-0. that left back clichy is shit. we will win è championship ourselves. but quite disapointed i muz say after waiting for this game é past week. done & dusted below 30min well, so fucking glad i dont support arsenal.

  100. aig alex is god says:

Gael Clichy is shit. The way he defended for that 2nd goal was rubbish.

Credit to Drogba though. he seriously is having a great season as i expected after they way they went out in the Champions League last season.Wont be long before he gets his hat trick today.

  101. McQueen says:

For fuck sake Arsenal are shit! Chelsea are producing a carbon copy of our performance last week, soaking up Arsenal pressure without much problem and hitting them on the break. And Arsene Wenger is showing his inability to learn and adapt tactically. All his fucking tiny attacking players are out in force even though Chelsea have conceded 99% of their goals from crosses or set pieces! How long will it take him to get Bendtner on this time?? 70 mins again?! The man is a fucking fool!

  102. McQueen says:

I say without much problem… Arsenal were actually looking pretty good and were giving me some hope that they could do this…. until they fucking imploded! I’m guessing we’ll never have to hear about how Clichy is ‘better than Evra’ ever again anyway!

  103. Kings says:

I can see a pasting here unfortunately. I do hope I’m wrong. Just hope Everton give them a harder time on Wednesday. Tricky one for us Wednesday, but if Rooney is on his game then hopefully we can win. Maybe at last Nani and Valencia can give us good width and pace on both flanks, and with Evra (best left-back in the world!) bombing forward, Rooney should get plenty of supply.

  104. Kings says:

aig alex is god – without tempting fate, the only one who has contained Drogba this season has been Evans, didn’t give the fucker an inch when we played them at Stamford Bridge this season, so much so, he resorted to having fits on the pitch!

  105. aig alex is god says:

Impressive record for Chelsea though in the big games.

Played 4, Won 4. Hope that changes when the visit Old Trafford and Anfield

  106. aig alex is god says:

    Kings

Exactly. I think he has scored only 1 goal against us in that final of the FA Cup. Vidic bossed him in the Champions League Final which made him loose his cool adn slap Vida.Loves scoring against the gooners. 13 goals in 10 games.some record that

  107. 20legend99 says:

What a disappointment this game is. I hoped Arsenal would give Chavsea a run, but they really are shit. As said before, Wenger can’t adapt to save his life. I remember earlier in the season when they were dead on to win the league. Don’t even bother playing the second half.

  108. DEVILisRED says:

tot é defeat last week vs. ê champion will really fire them up. wow, how fucking wrong can we get. we give arsenal too much credit i guess.
é 2 supposingly greatest young prospects in clichy & walcott hype up over é past years r really shit ya. terrible. but amunia tops them all. that keeper is real bloody shit.

  109. denton davey says:

L’Arse fire blanks. Two possessions = two goals for the RentBoyz.

That twot, Captain of Englnad, did well to get the ball to Drogba for their first but can you consider that defending on the second ? What a disappointment – so far. From what I’ve seen, TheArse are pretty toothless – Arshavin had a great chance that Cech did well to save but only Fabregas/Diaby look like they might “do something”.

What does Theo Walcott offer ?

What can Nasri do when it matters ?

What can Sagna or Clichy do for the attack ?

Alex Song has been good in defensive/midfield but he was supposed to be picking up Drogba on the second goal !

This is just disgusting – no fight and no realistic challenge from the Gooners so far. Too lightweight, too much “faffing about” and no serious end-product.

Maybe things are getting brighter – Walcott just go injured; unfortuantely, it looks like he’ll be OK.

Once again, the ‘team of the future” disappoints in the present. LIke me, SAF will be pissed.

If I knew that the wimps from TheMosque would put in such a gutless shift, I think I would have stayed down by the pool, catching rays.

    I don’t expect to be sending a more up-beat full-time report.

L’Arse continue to deceive – no flattery this time around.

  110. Fze123 says:

I will not bother to watch the second half. It’s very predictable. So much quality in that team which Wenger cannot get to work. And I was thinking they would be out in full force today, they are like fragile twigs, when you step on them they instantly snap. It will be impossible for them now to come back when they are 2-0 down.

So many chelsea fans at stamford bridge holding up placards which say ‘We love you John Terry’ and ‘John Terry forever captain of England’ and some are even wearing blue T-shirts which say…’Team Terry’ of course. Very funny to see. I can’t believe their fans continue to support this player after all he has done.

  111. curtis says:

Ah we gonna have to do it all on our own as always so not a major worry..
but a helping hand today would have been welcomed.
thanks for fuck all wenger and your team of ballerinas

  112. aig alex is god says:

    Kevin Phillips for Arsenal please.LOL

anyways,i think we expected chelsea to win at Hull and possibly drop points today. things havent turned that way but they did drop points in 1 of those 2 games.

  113. Corea says:

Looks like they won’t help us and bury their chances to win the league.
Did they have those chances ?

I am more than happy to be in position we are now. Arsenal helping hand would have been a bonus. 2 points off the lead and much improved GD.
The best part of the season is still ahead.

  114. King Eric says:

Fucking Everton away will be tougher for the Chav’s . Arsenal frankly are a joke. Crap in defence and toothless up front. How the fuck are they losing as Rentboys are shite as well. Come on United make sure these cunts don’t win the league. We will hammer them at home. Fabregas is just a flat track bully. Never does fuck all against top teams. How the fuck are Chelsea top of the league?

Still not worried about them as reckon Moyes will get a draw on Wednesday.

  115. Corea says:

I was 50/50 towards Terry but now i despise the cunt.
He didn’t even bother to think about quitting captaincy. What a self-loving motherfucker.

  116. King Eric says:

denton – Spot on mate. “by the pool”? Where do you live in a mansion? Lucky sod. Incidentally what did you make of your favourite Carricks performance yesterday?

  117. King Eric says:

Corea – Also bang on pal. Beat them at home we are one point clear. Anyway as I say reckon Everton will get a point or 3 on Wednesday.

  118. Corea says:

King Eriс – cheers, mate. i was worried Chelsea will pull away from us during first part of the season but they missed that chance. The same happened last season. As long as we are in touching distance with the experiance we have in this situations we have the chance.

Come on Arsenal! Still believe they might snatch smth. I have no other choice as i am still watching the game.
What a cunt is Drogba. He never gets injuried. Ballerina.

  119. McQueen says:

Fze123 – to be honest I applaud the fact that they are standing by him and supporting him like they are. He is a hateful bastard but i know that, if he were United, I would look past his shortcomings and support him. Like we have many times in the past with our own players (although none have been quite as detestable as this prick I must admit). Still, we would support him too if he was ours, it one of the characteristics which makes our club and fans so great in my opinion.

  120. Jandsdad says:

Arsenal once again can’t do fuck all against the better teams when it matters.
Ok they have no strikers but they should read the rules that possesion doesn’t win football games but goals do.
Walcott has been ruined by Arsene wenger.

Suppose we shouldn’t expect any favours from anyone else and will have to win this league through our own hard work.

    COME ON UNITED.

  121. Jandsdad says:

    @ Fze123

I have to echo what McQueen has said there, although i do find some of the bollocks that the chav fans are doing i.e. team terry t-shirts to be bad taste.
If he was one of our own we would stand by him but I personally would feel a bit grubby @ doing it.

  122. Kings says:

Nasri wasted a glorious chance. All I hearing is Martin Tyler tounging Terry’s arsehole. He was lying injured on the floor and he was quoted as saying: ‘All the stresses off the pitch can take it’s toll and it’s easy for someone to pick up an injury so easily, diet and lack of sleep has an effect as well’. What the fuck? The guy’s a cunt for what he has done and still people are sympathising with him

  123. Corea says:

Rent boys are so lucky. We bombarded them at the Bridge also.

  124. aig alex is god says:

    @King Eric

I dont have any hope from Everton. pathetic yesterday despite playing against 10 men for an hour.Chelsea will be too strong for them. More worried about us getting the job done at Villa park.Villa will have 10 men behind the ball to prevent us from scoring and try to get a goal from somewhere.

Just as time is running away arsenal start to play better just like last week.Just a bit too late i think. Feels like a replay of last weeks game

  125. Jandsdad says:

    @ King Eric

seen you had mentioned the Rodwell rumours earlier, only just reading through now.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him coming but according to the report I seen Sir Alex is looking to play him as a centre back, seeing as we already have good young centre backs cant see it happening.Imo I don’t think he is ready to make the step up to United in the summer but it would show we are still committed to signing up promising young english/british players.

  126. McQueen says:

10 mins left? Asenal need to bring on Kevin Phillips

  127. Fze123 says:

@ McQueen, If Terry was at united and he shagged a former united teammate’s wife then I do not think I would be able to still show support for him. Maybe Fergie wouldn’t even keep someone like him at this club any longer, and would sell him when he gets the oppourtinity to. It’s not just this incident; everything he does off the pitch is disgraceful. It’s absurd that he still gets support and backing by chelsea fans after all he has done.

  128. aig alex is god says:

Well done to Chelsea and Drogba. He really loves playing against them. That should be it for Arsenal although after the dippers they have an easy run in till the end of the season.2 Horse race now. Will go down to the wire, too tight to call at the moment. Our position after the away games at Villa Park and Goodison will make things a bit more clearer.

Feel bad for Arsenal. They were good today but thats the way it goes. You dont get anything for playing beautiful football.

  129. denton davey says:

King Eric @ 18:08: “denton – Spot on mate. “by the pool”? Where do you live in a mansion?”

Nope. I’m in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It’s like compensation for being soooo fucking old. Right now, I’m semi-retired and taking advantage of having worked long enough to organize my life so that I can get away from the frozen tundra of Toronto in the winter for two months. Like John Lennon wrote – “living is easy with eyes closed”.

The so-called “battering” just ended – what a waste of time. Diaby just got worse and worse – the only guys with any fight on that squad are Niclas Bendtner, Alex Song, and Thomas Vermaelen. The rest of their smurfs are just too lightweight.

  130. McQueen says:

@ Fze123 Yes you have a point there, the Chelsea fans do seem to have forgotten Bridge and his service for the club quite quickly. But he did leave them for city! It’s true Fergie would not look kindly on these type of actions, you would’ve thought, who knows how he would’ve acted? But, at the end of the day, if your manager chooses to back his captain then, as fans, the best thing you can do for the team is get behind him aswell. The difference is Chelsea have no class.

  131. trevor says:

    Lads,

I had been arguing the fact that terry shit on bridge, Someone tried to argue last night that Bridge and that chick had finished & terry never had an affiar with her whilst she was in a relationship?

    Is this true?

Have the papers been libral with the truth?

I dont give a shit that terry had an affiar, i was more pissed that he did it to a fellow players bird!

When terry got the captaincy i thought fair enough, heart of a lion and all that! Then you get to hear more about him and he really isnt what you want as your national captain!

They all talk about rio’s chequred history, What chequred history. He got fucked by the FA for missing a dug test which he passed the following day!… A city player did the same thing 1 month prior and got a 16k fine, what did rio get?……… Erm 8 month ban!

Can i ask a question to anyone in the know!… Is any of the FA board actual footballers or previous footballers?

    If not why not?

  132. denton davey says:

sig @ 18:57: “Our position after the away games at Villa Park and Goodison will make things a bit more clearer.”

Yep; those will be key matches – UTD can’t afford to give away away-points after working so hard to get so close.

  133. Corea says:

Just to sum up the week.
    1. 2 horse race for the title.
    2. April the 3rd may well be title decider. What a game! How much i would love us destroying that team of basterds.
    3. We are top of the league regarding GD. A little victory. Who would have thought.

denton davey – cheers! have a good rest and bless us with your posts.

Arsenal played really nice football in the 2nd half but here you see the difference between us and Arsenal. We shoot the ball into the net, they try to pass it. As well as not having that quility in the team as we do.

  134. King Eric says:

denton – You lucky lucky man!

aig – Everton DID get a draw at the bridge. For derbies mate, form goes out the window. A much tougher prospect at home. Just don’t agree the Chav’s are too strong. Out played on their own turf for the second half. They are papering over the cracks. Sooner or later they will get a pasting. Cannot argue with the fact they won though. Arsenal are pathetic. All the fancy eye of a needle shit on the edge of the box just fucking welly it. At least the media will stop banging on about their “perfect football”. Well in a way that is good as only one team to worry about now. I really do despise the Rentboys. Did anyone notice the advertising hoardings? summat about “Join the CHAMPIONS”. Champions of what exactly? No wonder the players are so arrogant when the rest of the club is. Bigger liars than Citeh.

Kings – Alright fella. Yeah I heard Tyler banging about Tiny Tears. Perhaps if he wasn’t up half the night banging young bitches he would get enough sleep.

How come Anelka doesn’t get stick Berbatov does? He is fucking shite at the minute and Berba has as many goals despite playing much less games. 4 in 4 now.

  135. King Eric says:

Am I the only one not really worried about Villa Park? They are piss fucking poor and just another team hyped beyond belief by the press. Did they even have an attempt on goal yesterday? Reckon the Ginger Prince will be back to break them down along with Berbatov. We WILL get revenge for the earlier game.

  136. McQueen says:

Fze123 I still believe they are doing the only thing they can, supporting him. After all Bridge is a city player now, do they fuck up their own team just to respect him? No way. How would we, as rival fans feel, if Chelsea dropped Terry and their fans booed him? We’d be fucking delighted! It could completely fuck up their season! It is unthinkable as far as they are concerned really.

  137. King Eric says:

it wasn’t a replay of last week at all. United outplayed Arsenal on their patch. For much of the game Arsenal outplayed the Chav’s. They badly need a striker. To my mind Wenger has gone “stale” at Arsenal.

  138. Fze123 says:

@ McQueen, you could say we are a bit like Chelsea fans. Tevez left us for City too and we have forgotten his glorious service to our club quite quickly. I mean, how could we possibly brush aside his 5 league goals in his last season? We should give him some credit for all the running he has done for us.

Classless players + classless fans = chelsea. Don’t worry Fergie, we will do the battering at OT in april. I can’t wait to crush their title dreams. Tbh they weren’t magnificent today; arsenal played better against them than they did against us. But not good enough to get something out of the game. Now they’re out of the title race, they have to make sure they stay in the top 4 and not allow the bitters to take their place.

  139. Corea says:

Arsenal always have next season. If they win the league next season everything will be forgotten. A debt free club with big stadium.
Anywau just a little bit of soft thinking. Without Viera Arsenal are the club i would fancy winning the league if we went missing.

  140. aig alex is god says:

    @King Eric

Wont be easy mate. Villa will park the bus as usual and try to score on the break. They are no Arsenal who will give us chance on the break but will invite us to break then down.Thats the difference, Arsenal played to win last week and lost against us, Villa will happily take a draw.

As for Chelsea, how they are top of the league dosent matter, we were poor for nearly the whole of last season but won the League. Chelsea were rubbish under Mourinho but won 2 league crowns.its just about winning and staying top.Till the time Chelsea are there we have to take them seriously.

  141. Fze123 says:

Just want to say that Owen misses a dozen of sitters in every game he plays in, whereas Berbatov only missed one yesterday yet some fans still claimed he wasn’t “inspiring”. I don’t have anything against Owen but it would be better if fans judged our own players fairly. Berbatov will need to start against Villa, a team he’s made to play against.

  142. Doghouse says:

Chelsea should definitely be taken seriously because they are easily good enough to win the league. Simple reasoning for this is because they are better than all the other teams except us. By default that makes them the main contenders if we slip up. And we’ve slipped up a lot this season and need to play hard, effective football from here on in to win the title.

Thing with Chelsea is that they highlight just how good you -don’t- have to be in order to compete for the title. They’ve got attackers who will score ugly goals against crap teams all day long and a defence that against such crap teams can usually be relied upon to concede fewer goals than the strikers will score. That gets you the title.

Well if would if not for United. And Arsenal on a good season to be fair to them, though the current Arsenal team is lacking beef in my view.

  143. Gary says:

    @Fze123

To say Owen misses “A dozen sitters every game” is a slight ecaduration wouldn’t you agree? Those chances he does get are more chances than Berbatov manages to get in 90 minutes. Berbatov did all right yesterday, but I still much prefer to see the bloke out of the side. I heard all this from fans on here slating me saying “Well we will see how we do without him” (over his supposed phantom injury) well we played 2 games against City and Arsenal and completely wiped the floor with them playing at a high intesity and quick free flowing football. That is when United are at their best.

  144. mikekelly12 says:

We will win the league!! Heard a dipper on the radio saying he would rather we didn’t win the Prem than Liverpool playing Champions League football next year!! Now I realised this is their mentality, but didn’t think they’d admit it……maybe he is unaware half the squad would leave if this were the case. So funny!

  145. McQueen says:

Guys I have been looking ahead at key fixtures…

Our run-in’s (us and Chelsea) up to the game at Old Trafford are similar, our’s being slightly harder i’d say (we have the dippers at OT and we know anything can happen in that game). I’d be happy enough still being 2 points behind come April 3rd, imagine what an occasion that would be! Beating them and taking the lead in the title race would give us a massive boost for the remaining games.
After that game, we have shitty away, but on the same day Chelsea are away at Spurs. One key fixture that stuck out though is Chelsea going to Anfield in the penultimate game of the seaon. Imagine this for a scenario… the dippers have secured 4th place and have nothing to play for, with their great rivals on the verge of an historic 19th title… yeah, you see where I am going with this. Let’s hope it is in our hands by that point. We know this league can be ours’ if we play like we can, with heart and passion (and Rooney still banging ‘em in!). So let’s hope we carry it on at Villa Park and get the United juggernaut rolling because this league would be one of the sweetest ever and I want to taste it so badly! COME ON UNITED!!!!!!!

  146. Kings says:

King Eric – Hello mate. Apparantly someone (can’t remember off the top of my head) pulled Rio about his indiscretions, for fuck sake, they are tame in comparison to what that fucking bastard has done. Am I the only one who doesn’t notice his vile acts on the pitch as well? Jason ‘I wish I was Terry’s bitch’ Cundy was aggressive to the Sky Sports presenters in his defence of that twat, saying that what he does on the pitch is what counts and not off it. So I take it he fail to notice the time he pulled the red card out of the referees hand when we beat them 2-0 at OT in the 2007/08 season and when he rugby tackled Citeh’s Jo last season, not to mention him spitting at Tevez and calling him an ‘Argie cunt’ in the 2008 European Cup Final.

Yeah saw that banner as well mate – what the fuck!

Anelka is an overrated twat who is finished, it amazes me how he doesn’t get some deserved criticism for his shit performances. Berba can be frustrating, but I would rather have him than that waste of space. Did you see his delicious pass to Valencia 5 minutes after his excellent finish? If Rooney’s smashing 20+ goals a season, then I am content on seeing Berba getting 10 or 15.

Speaking of Villa mate, fuck knows how we lost against them, they are fucking shit and we should have buried them at Old Trafford. Hopefully Rooney, Valencia and Nani will run riot against them. I am glad to see Nani rediscovering his first season form and getting some of his confidence back. I was well pleased when we signed him and always wanted to see him succeed, but I must admit, I was almost close to losing my patience with him, but I am sincerely glad to see that he has proved me wrong. Yeah I agree with you, he certainly has bulked up, his roasting of Clichey last week shows that he has some pace, which I stated in one of previous posts indicating my excitement at him and Valencia giving us some pace on both flanks.

  147. Paul Parker says:

Drogba deserved a hat-trick, he won that for Chelsea single handed.

second top striker in the league with 17 PL goals to Rooneys 21 despite missing 5 games in the African Cup and not taking any penalties, Rooneys scored 4 penalties, so they’re even top scorers in open play. HE WAS THE DIFFERENCE make no mistake, because apart from his threat up front Chelsea were average as fuck today. they only looked like scoring through him. if Arsenal had a real striker with all that possession they would’ve beaten Chelsea today. Drogba’s 8min goal killed them off, can’t deny it. IMO it would’ve been a closer game and a better one to watch if he wasn’t there. he’s devastating when he’s in form, in fact, all the success at Chelski has been built on his back more then any other player they’ve had imo, so lets hope Everton do better at home then they did at Anfield, cos if not we might need City to do us a BIG favour at the Bridge, at least they have actual strikers to do the damage like Tevez, Bellamy and Ade. City did well at home to beat Chelsea last time, more of the same at the Bridge please. Eitherway, the run in this year will be cloooooose. We’ve played like Champions to still be in contention and ahead in goal difference, retaining the crown this season would make it a contender for our greatest Premier League title ever.
…Business as usual against Villa please.

  148. chrispiano says:

For the Villa game lets hope we play 4-4-2 as their CM’s aren’t anything to rave about so Carrick Fletch/Scholes should easily dominate as a 2 man midfield, Park on the left to track back on Ashley Young and Nani on the right. Berbatov + Rooney upfront so we can unlock the best defence in the premiership this season.

  149. mikekelly12 says:

As I said in my previous post…it wouldn’t matter if they needed to beat Chelsea to ensure a top 4 finnish, they’d still rather lose the match and come 5th than allow us to win the league! That doesn’t matter though, we win all our remaining games this season we win a treble AWESOME!!

  150. mikekelly12 says:

Regarding our tricky away ties, lets not get too bogged down, we’ve got great away records against them in the Prem:

    Everton Away – Won 13 Drawn 2 Lost 2

    Villa Away – Won 11 Drawn 4 Lost 2

Come on Reds, lets ave it!!!!

  151. McQueen says:

mikekelly12 – It would because their players are not their fans and playing Champions League football would be important to most of them you would’ve thought

  152. Fze123 says:

    @ Gary

We create more when Owen’s playing but what good does it do if these chances are not buried? The chances he gets are a result of lingering in the box and sticking to defenders shoulders; something that Berbatov never does because he constantly drops deep. Yet he managed to score the hardest chance of the game outside of the box yesterday. Luckily for us Rooney has hit form at the right time before the CC semi legs, so he became undroppable and the most effective striker in the 4-5-1. Think this is why we didn’t miss Berb too much. Berbatov still hasn’t found his form and his injury prevented him from getting much playing time. I agree that Berbatov does perform better against teams who park the bus as he is able to break them down, but he is still a crucial player for us even though he does tend to slow our attack at times. It’s not because he is lazy/slow as some fans seem to label him but he’s either creating space/holding up play. Personally I would never want him out of the side; he is a joy to watch.

  153. mikekelly12 says:

    McQueen

I know mate, it was a little tongue in cheek! The majority of fans would definately be cheering Chelki on in that game, but I’m sure the players are professional enough to put a shift in!

Felt like cheering you guys up after the chelsea game.

  155. kiko says:

    WHERE IS KIKO MACHEDA??????????????

  156. Costas says:

    @mikekelly12

Good point. Villa and Goodison Park are two of our favorite stadiums over the years. Last season was the first Premier League season that we didn’t win at either ground. It surely won’t happen again. In 17 years, we have won at both grounds in the same season 8 times.

  157. denton davey says:

King Eric @ 19:09: ” Arsenal are pathetic. All the fancy eye of a needle shit on the edge of the box just fucking welly it.”

That little pisser Nasri had a clear shot but was unwilling to use his left foot. It could have made for an interesting final twenty minutes.

  158. McQueen says:

@ mikekelly12 – you’d hope so m8 but I think we’re clutchin’ at straws here as I doubt it’d make much difference anyway, Chelski would still probably batter them! The only team they seem to play well against is us unfortunately, driven on by sheer desperation, defending their precious history (and it really is history lol) like a cornered rat!

  159. Pat says:

King Eric, before you call Cesc a flat track bully, take a look at Rooney.

Only 4 fuckings goals against the top 10 teams!

Cesc had 2 absolutely marvelous passes today that Nasri and Arshavin should have scored off. Arshavin’s volley saved by Cech and Nasri took his touch too wide.

  160. aig alex is god says:

    @Pat

Cesc is a very good player but i think he dosent influence the big games enough. Cant remember him having any good games against United and Chelsea.Rooney has scored twice against City(League cup semis),once against Spurs and twice against Arsenal. He was excellent at the Bridge against Chelsea and was unfortunate to end up on the losing side.Fabregas has been brilliant this season but games like United and Chelsea are the games you must stamp your authority in. Drogba and Rooney did that. Fabregas did not.The team let him down too, cant deny that

  161. aig alex is god says:

    @McQueen

Yes. The Liverpool game will be vital. The way we have played against them in recent games we cant take a win for granted. Also Torres will be back by then for them.Hope we are up for that one because in the last 3 games United have been outplayed and outfought by Liverpool.Players need to understand it is not just another game and show some fight unlike the last 3 encounters.

The fixtures balacne themslves out i guess for both us and Chelsea

We have Chelsea, Liverpool,Spurs-Home and Villa,Everton,City-away
    Chelsea have United,Spurs,Liverpool,Everton-away and City,Villa-Home

Chelsea have been good at Home this season but struggled away from home.United surprisingly have been the best away team in the league, ususally its Chelsea who are the best away team and United who are the best home team.

Love the commentary — “CarrickAH!”. Much better than Lou Moaning Macari on Setanta :) .

    http://www.tribalfootball.com/man-utd-defender-ferdinand-may-put-england-first-over-ban-appeal-626721

Rio consideres dropping the appeal. Is it good to have the captain of England in our team ?

  164. aig alex is god says:

    @Corea

    Hi mate. Good morning.

Possibly it may help us. The FA usually are soft on The England skipper, certainly were in terry’s case. He should not backtrack though, coz now the ban may get overturned now that he is the skipper and he may play against Everton. We Certainly need him for that game.

  165. Corea says:

aig alex is god – good morning, pal.
Maybe. But imagine for a second. Terry missed that penalty and now when England has the chance of winning the WC he won’t be lifting the trophy with the eyes of the whole country and the whole world watching.
    Silly proud mothefucker.

  166. Red Devil says:

Just a question guys…. Do Own goals by the other teams count in the “Goals For” column for United ?

  167. aig alex is god says:

    @Red Devil

    Good afternoon mate.

Of course they do count. United are top scorers in the league now with 61 scored and 20 conceded, Chelsea are 2nd with 60 scored and 20 conceded and considering we have basically played for most part without Rio and Vidic, that is impressive when Chelski have had Terry,Carvalho fit for the wholse season which is their 1st choice pairing.

  168. Corea says:

Red Devil – they do count in GD as the goals scored rather than conceded :) )))

  169. Costas says:

Morning guys. Getting ready for the second semester at college. :(

Anyway, I hope Rio doesn’t drop the appeal. The England Captain is not supposed to be the FA’s puppet. He has to get justice over this. Meaning that he should be cleared to play after the Villa game.

  170. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

    College?.whats your age mate?

  171. Red Devil says:

    @ AIG and Corea….
    Good afternoon mates
Thanks for the info….It would be funny though if the own goals would be credited to the goals for column of the team scoring the own goal. At least that way, the team scoring the own goal gets something in return for helping the other team win ;)

  172. Rooney22United says:

fuck arsenal.. bunch of useless pricks.. didn’t even try enough to keep Chelsea from going back to the top of the table.

  173. Corea says:

Red Devil – good question for the monday morning ;) ))

Costas – spot on, pal. also don’t think he should drop the appeal. that’s why i asked if heaving the captain if England in the team is a good deal.

aig – 27 i think. we are of the same age, our nickname starts with letter c, some people even confuse us after reading the posts in a hurry and we are afraid of getting married. :-D

  174. aig alex is god says:

    Corea

27,are you sure?. what are you doing in college at the age of 27 Costas?.

  175. Corea says:

    I thought we’d exchanged emails guys :)

  176. aig alex is god says:

    @Corea

i know about you mate. just curious about Costas, i thought he was working.

  177. giggs11gerrard0 says:

I know I am bit of a Carrick fan and people always dont agree but what is everyones opinion now?

He had a very slow start to the season but has really come into his own now!

  178. aig alex is god says:

    giggs11gerrard0

hi mate. Carrick is a good player and i have always liked him. Its just that when the team is losing you blame the midfield and its inevitable the likes of Carrick and Park who get the stick, when the team is doing well like now, Rooney is the fire and hence he will get all the credit. This way Carricks contribution goes unnoticed when the team is doing well and he is given far less credit than what he deserves.Agreed that he is no Xavi or Pirlo but he does what he ahs too and does it pretty well.Has scored 4 goals(?) this season too.

  179. giggs11gerrard0 says:

AIG totally agree mate he is no Xavi but when we play counter attacking football like we have recentley then it is great to have a player with two great feet in a range of passing!

I would like to see him in more positions like when he scored on sat, a player who can strike a ball as well as he can should be nothing ten a season in a side of our calibre.

  180. aig alex is god says:

    @giggs11gerrard0

Feel myself he should get more. he has got 4 this season and just 17 goals in 176 games is less for someone like him. Hope he can get some more thie season

  181. giggs11gerrard0 says:

Starting wed hopefully, I said in Jan to the lads I go the game with that if we take maximum points from Burnley, Hull, Arsenal, Pompey, and Villa then I think we will win the league. Everyone thought I was on crack!

Two points is nothing in a title race, they only need to draw and we win for us to be top on goal difference plus the have to come to OT yet!

  182. Red Devil says:

    @ AIG and giggs11gerrard0

If you notice one of the key difference in the last few games and the rest of the season before that, it is the quality of carrick’s passing….
Earlier on, he was lacking in confidence somewhat, and almost always passing either sideways or backwards…now you’re not gonna score too many goals if you just keep passing sideways….teams will just sit off you and allow you possession where it doesn’t hurt you in midfield, just like arsenal.
But in the last few games he has stepped it up, looked like the carrick of old and tried a few expansive passes….I think Sir Alex remarked earlier in the season that he too seems to start a bit slowly in the season and pick up speed later….Its about confidence for him I think….earlier, the focus for him was keeping possesion, now its about creating chances and openings…what a difference a change of mindset can make!
Well I hope the momentum keeps taking him forward, we could use a few assists and goals from midfield in this last part of the season.

  183. giggs11gerrard0 says:

Red Devil – I would say that is absolutely spot on mate! Big week this week with both us and Chelsea having difficult mid week away games!

  184. King Eric says:

giggs11 gerrard 0 – Morning mate. Yeah I also like Carrick and it appears that he has regained his form . Everything went through him on Saturday and at the Emirates. Controls the tempo in Scholes’s abscence.

aig – Hello mate. Yeah Costas is 27 or so. I remember him saying.

  185. Always Be Closing says:

King Eric, Chelsea beat us and the MerseyScum, that’s your dfference there. Even the game against us, if that was a draw (as the goal shouldn’t had stood) then we’d be on top.

  186. willierednut says:

Shud of knew arsenal wudn’t ave done us a favour, It was the land of the giants against the smurfs.

  187. Costas says:

HI guys again. Sorry it took me a while to answer.

    @AIG

They are right. I will be 27 this May. On the day of the Ch.League final. :D I actually got my degree for electronic engineering in the summer and now I am doing a post graduate program. It took me a while to get the degree!

  188. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Thats 6 years older than me.Will be 21 in March.Share my birthday with the worst player in Chelsea vs Arsenal yesterday. Theo Walcott.. Hope United give you the ultimate present on your birthday by winning the CL. Congrats on your electronic engineering degree and all the best for your post graduate programs.

  189. Costas says:

    @AIG

Thanks for the wishes mate. I appreciate it. Good luck to you too. I had a feeling you were younger than me. I thought you were about 18 to 19 though. 21 is still a great age though! What I wouldn’t give to be 21 again.

It’s funny but with the CL final moving to Saturdays, it’s the second time that it will be this close to my birthday in recent years. The one we won in 08, started on the previous day and ended on the first few hours of my bithday (according to Greece time anyway!).

  190. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Thanks mate. What a ball you must have had on your birthday in 2008.I never get to celebrate my birthday because it always comes during exam time :-( .

  191. Costas says:

    @AIG

My bithday usually comes before or during exams too. We have different exam systems I guess!

The good thing about 08 was that the final started on my nameday(my religion celebrates St Constantine on May 21st) and ended during my birthday. Yes, I celebrate two anniversaries on 2 consecutive days, but only get one present!

  192. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Ya. we do have exams at different times. We have final year ending exams(2nd semester) in march-april.When you have exams we have summer vacations. Great talking to you as always.

  193. Costas says:

    @AIG

    Same here.

  194. Red Devil says:

    @ Costas

Well done for the qualifications mate….congratulations and keep up the good work!

  195. Costas says:

    @Red Devil

    Thanks mate. Same to you.
