   Rooney has hit outstanding form and just at the right time. Hope he keeps it going against Madrid and Everton. Valencia has scored too against portugal. Granted it was a header from four yards out but hope it sparks his season into life. Crucial matches coming up.

    But Englands mf did seem to hold their own. That said, Ronaldinho should have converted after Jack Wilshere’s handball and the game would have been Brazil’s to loose. So you could say that England were a bit lucky to get the first goal and that changed the entire game.

    Taking nothing away from it, but that pen mis and Rooney’s goal changed everything.

    As to United: I thought the 4 lads did well and we can all be thankful. that there were no injuries or reasons to blame a united man. Smalling did very well at the back and Cleverley was an engine. Didn’t get enough credit either one. Rooney got a goal and an assist which is tops for the lads confidence.

    On the other side of the ball, I didn’t see anything from Lucas or Neymar that indicates we are missing much. Take a fit Anderson any day. Neymar virtually never tract back and was put in the shade by
    our man…..
