Better than sex. Almost…
there just aren’t adequate words to describe him
Genius~!!!
Like watching porn.
sigh… end of an era
Can’t wait for tonight, gonna lose my voice singing for ginge!
That track on the vid is pretty tasty, anyone any idea what it is?
Absolute Genius. Precision passing, those quick feet, amazing screamers that would put Barca’s finest midfielders to shame. Bow to the master
The Ginger Genius will be missed
@Costes
Better than Porn!
pass porn!
if anyone is interested, the track is:
I’m Week
by Nina Kraviz
“Sobs” uncontrollably at what will be missed. Paul Scholes – Pure Genius, Absolute Legend.
Makes you see what Zidane, Xavi etc. meant….awesome…noticed that Sneijder has some similar skills…check him out on Youtube…
Sneijder passing….

My best player ever…was really sad when he announced his retirement.Hope he remains with the club in some capacity.Sucks that the english public only now have started to appreciate technically gifted players.Deserves more recognition than some of the puppets they have hyped up over the years.
What can I say that hasn’t been said before about this “genius?” – ingenious ?
Absolutely brilliant video….. He just makes it look so simple
I really wish his and Edwin’s testimonials didn’t take place this close to the new season. They are just reminders of what we will miss from now on.
@Robbinhood Savage
Heh, I guess so. At least Scholesy never got boring.
Paul Scholes = Most Complete Footballer Ever. Period.
It is actually difficult to swallow the fact that we are going to be seeing a Manchester United team line up without Paul Scholes and Edwin Van Der Sar. We spent the whole summer wallowing in transfers that we “almost” forgot this truth. And now that one testimonial is done and the other is lined up for today, it almost feels like cold water on the face.
Of course, thanks to a certain Scotsman, we are not going to feel any ill-effects, but it will take some getting used to seeing a United team without Van Der Sar in goal and Scholes pulling all the strings.
Balaji
I hear you my friend……. With time the pain will subside yet somehow the realization never sinks in. I still did not get over the fact that my own hero Robbo actually retired and that was a good 17 or so years ago.
I guess in a way its a reflection of how much we love our club
In America, he would have been one helluva a Quarterback. HAHA. AMAZING SKILLS
I agree with Ratbag, now we know why Zidane, Xavi, Alonso etc hold him in high esteem. He would be in my all time Man United team. A Model professional, pure class. Just watching this great compilation makes me realise why we fall in love with the beautiful game and to watch one of the unsung all time greats mix art and craft with such dedication and passion.
I really do hope he can mentor future generations at the club he has dedicated his life to. I cannot imagine a better mentor to younger kids at the youth level. I trust many will be inspired by the Ginger Prince.
I think previous generations are right to take about Duncan Edwards with breathless awe but I feel one day we might talk to our kids about Scholes in the same breath. Except we have the prove in such compilations as these.
Savour every pass….
The Left bank
Costas had it right; pure football pornography.
Now if he could man-manage Tommy C this season…..
Not a bad little player this lad.
The thing is if you look at the video closely, he uses absolutely freakish parts of his foot to create the angles on the ball. Unreal technique. And when you start thinking of the control on the trajectory, pace, dip, and spin you start running out of words. I can’t think of any other footballer who could create those long range passes with so little time and space on the ball. The other thing about Scholes’s game is that he always makes himself available to receive the ball. He makes those wall passes and then jogs over to the only spot where the other player can play the ball. If you don’t look carefully, you won’t even notice his art – it’s that smooth and easy, and he’s that good. LEGEND.
Our pass-master is now our past-master. These happy memories make me sad.
Thank you for being our Paul Scholes. I will always wonder at your marvels in my mind’s eye.
Genius
What a genius, he makes it all look so simple and relaxed.
I love the goal at 5.40 of the video. I know this is all about Scholesy, but from clips earlier in the video you see him create chance after chance and they get missed – well, not the chance at 5.40 he creates for Ruud, Ruud just takes it down and bang! Proper striker.
Jeet – Spot on mate. Also I think you appreciate him more in the flesh. The space he makes. The one touch football he plays. Always passing on the half turn. He has eyes in the back of his head. Unbelievable footballer.
Jeet – Yeah spot on with this line ” He makes those wall passes and then jogs over to the only spot where the other player can play the ball. If you don’t look carefully, you won’t even notice his art – it’s that smooth and easy, and he’s that good”.
ClaytonBlackmoresTan – Dont think for one minute I am comparing the two but I said a couple of weeks back, and one poster mocked me, that Cleverley seems to have that ability to pick up space and receive the ball with space around him. A very intelligent young footballer.
He was one of the best midfielder in the world, thank you Scholesy for your genius. UTD legend
Seeing how a legend like Scholes made all those crossfield pass just put a tear in my eye…
And still there’s ppl (United fans) debating whether we need another midfield general to wield to strokes..
As I put it in another thread, unless Scholes’ son can grow up doubly fast and take his shirt, we really need Schniejder…
Sublime
@ King Eric- honestly couldn’t agree with you more.
My Dad always used to say that the great players seem to have an eternity on the ball- then followed it with “that’s why you always look like your gonna shit yourself and why you’re a centre-half” Cheers Dad.
Seriously though, Cleverley has that air of time and space about him, cool under pressure and can pick a pass brilliantly.
Don’t want to overhype him but am more excited about seeing him this season than the new signings- also- he absolutely loves United. Game on….
Why have a couple of incoplete passes in the compilation? There are about 5 zillion more complete passes to choose from.
He is the greatest, simple as!
He looks even better when those nuts in front of him keeps failing to make the most of the balls literally given to them.
Scholes Gen18us!
He’s one of the midfielder in the world, thanks for your genius Scholesy. UTD legend
It seems one thing has been true all along,
You don’t really know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone,
Gon’ miss u Paul
Subliminal Paul Scholes!
Football has lost its favourite son.
Words can’t begin to describe Paul Scholes Contribtution to Manchester United and Football.
You may see others with great passing range past & present, buit nobody can eclipse the character, respect, likeability, commitment and all round ability of Our Ginger Prince.
To this day he plays down his influence on football and Manchester United being so innocently modest.
Great Player, Great Man
sigh
Scott you toerag, I was almost over him retiring and now you’ve broken my heart again.
Dear god! What a genius.
@0161 Jon:
Just about to post and ask what the track was. Thanks, old chap. Bought it on iTunes.
If you want a moment to sum up the class and quality of Manchester United, there it is.
Paul Scholes lurking with major intent.
I could watch him hit that Barca goal over and over and over again.
Genius
The more you watch football, the more you appreciate the Scholes. We’re gonna miss you son.
I miss the ginger prince already
Irreplaceable… The vision, the touch, the shot…the complete midfielder!
