really impressed with welbeck and valencia.
carrick should’ve attempt more shots from now on…
and really happy to see scholesy scored as well!

  2. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Is the action happening here or is everyone switching to emasculation mode watching strictly/big brother/i’m a celebrity/x factor or whatever testicle removal programme is on these days?

  3. orez says:

Good win. Rooney and Nani were bad but we still won comfortably, which says something. Also great game from Valencia and Carrick, both were absolutely outstanding. Welbeck and Rafael were good too. We just need to get Nani and Rooney back to some form. The upcoming games will not easy. Overall though it was important to go back to winning.

  4. Fred says:

HE SCORES GOALS GALORE, HE SCORES GOALS
HE SCORES GOALS GALORE, HE SCORES GOALS
HE SCORES GOALS GALORE, HE SCORES GOALS
    PAUL SCHOLES, HE SCORES GOALS!

  5. Mikael says:

orez: Wayne bad? What you on about? He missed the pen (badly taken) but he had two assists and he made some killer passes. Nani was a bit off today but far from bad. Valencia was amazing and Dannyboy looks great, hope he’s not badly injured.

Great three points and nice to see Tottenham draw at home. Just hope City can continue with their “bad form”!

  6. hsn666 says:

Welbeck- What a fcking player we have!!

  7. Lebomanc says:

Let’s just hope that wigan surprise everyone and win against city, or at least draw…

  8. Fred says:

#151 – With that goal, Paul Scholes enters the top 10 scorers of all time at Manchester United, surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy (150)

  9. FletchTHEMAN says:

Also impressed with our defense today. Evans had a very good game.

When was the last time we didn’t have a first team player from Ireland. Could in the reserves, but still.

  10. NotoriousRedDevil says:

    From twitter

Anders Lindegaard said David de Gea will be the #MUFC number one and best keeper in the world. But not until Anders “draws his pension”

  11. Fred says:

Wasn’t crowing after his performance against City, was he? #DDG #1

  12. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Thought it was pretty funny. Lindegaards sense of humour/personality is pretty cool. Neither of them have had good games vs cit-eh. Think Anders will start at l’arse lets see what he does in that.

  13. Costas says:

The other positive sign is that we ar egetting players back. Assuming Ando, Jones and Smalling are back next week, our only loose ends are Owen, Tom and Young.

  14. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Don’t forget Bebe Costas ;-) He’s our secret weapon in the Europa League!!!

  15. Costas says:

If Linde draws his pension around the same age that VDS did, then De Gea will become our regular goalie when he’s 34.

  16. Sandeep1878 says:

At 37 years and 59 days old, my Paul Scholes becomes the oldest English goalscorer for Man Utd in EPL overtaking Cedars’z Bryan Robson

  17. Costas says:

    @Notorious

But, he’s still in Turkey isn’t he?

  18. Gandalf says:

Gosh I hope Welbeck is not injured badly and will be available for next weekend… his movement was top class today.

  19. Costas says:

Fergie said Welbeck had a twist in his knee but he was going to be ok. I hope he’s right. Young’s injury at Fulham was more serious than we first thought and I hope that’s not the case here.

  20. ademiami says:

Great game today. Am happy for Scholesy. Nice game by the lads except for Nani. He’s been struggling with his form for some time now. Rafael had a monster game today.

  21. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@Costas I thought they cancelled his loan when he got injured if that is so if they get him fit Bebe will fire Besiktas to championship glory.

  22. Costas says:

    @Notorious

He’s still there I believe. It’s a season long loan and he should be back in February or March. Personally I’d love to have him back next season. The Daily Fail’s articles about him always cracked me up.

  23. Costas says:

    Rio Ferdinand:

Wow not feeling great..Concussion after a clash of heads I’m told..as I don’t even remember the game! Gonna chill,Goodnight world! 3-0 win!

  24. Devil310 says:

@Costas – good evening my Mediterranean friend. Rio played 15 mins or so after that clash, did he? and he can’t remember it? HA! Fucking genius! He was incense today…but Evans played well too.

  25. Sandeep1878 says:

Henry scored for Arsenal, Gerrard scored for Liverpool, Lampard scored for Chelsea and now Scholes scored for United.. oops who is Man City’s ? NONE because im talking about LEGENDS!

  26. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Unfortunately my feed froze when the clash happened. If it is concussion he’ll be fortunate to make l’arse game. NO TV or Twitter for a week Rio!!!

  27. Sandeep1878 says:

    Gandalf,

    hello pal,

read that welbeck twisted his knee but sir alex said he is okay..

for update we can rely on ever reliable Costas!!

  28. Fred says:

When Rio banged heads with the Bolton player, he was heard to exclaim: “#ooooooof!!”

  29. Fred says:

    My advice to Rio: #putyourfeetup

  30. seanmthered says:

Danny’s been excellent love him, United through and through, I miss seeing Chicha on the pitch though I hope his confidence hasn’t taking too much a beating still showed what he’s about this season helping us with 1-0′s but hope he’s improving his overall game and working hard in training. Knowing what a great lad he is i’m sure he will. UNITED

  31. slim says:

I simply can’t wait for Tom C to get back. His link up with Danny Welbeck is going to be legendary. Our Manchester lad is only scratching the surface. And to rub it in the scouse lad had one of his off day’s today.

Special mention to Carrick and Valencia, Carrick’s goal aside he was class today and retains my hope we won’t need to go look for this tough tackling midfielder to play his position. Put him along side an intelligent and hard working partner and watch them lock the midfield down.

Rooney with his A game and Welbs continual rise flanked by Nani and Tony V with Clevs behind is a very very exciting prospect

  32. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Valencia the man of the match by a million miles for me, Carrick coming close. How many fantastic times did put the ball into the box? And Carrick, if that brilliant pass he made to Welbeck actually ended up as a goal in the first half, that would have been pass of the season.

Come on everybody, let’s be happy, satisfied and pumped up. Do away with the ‘it’s not our best performances’ blah blah stuff. It’s better than losing at home, ain’t it. And what is Young’s injury? Slightly confused. The toe or ankle? I read Sir Alex talking about how Young was still bleeding.

  33. Costas says:

N’Gog challenged him for an aerial ball and headed the back of Rio’s head, the idiot. No wonder he was the joke of Anfield.

Hopefully Rio will be back by Arsenal, but I wouldn’t count on it. Smalling and Evans will probably be the partneship for that one.

    @Devil310

Hi mate. Hope you are well. Yeah he went on as if nothing happened. At times you don’t realize you’re concussed until you’re told. Rio is still a very healthy guy. It’s his back that betrays him time after time.

  34. Gandalf says:

thank you costas and sandeep! I think if welbeck remains fit thru the end of the season – we will do very well indeed. He is so exciting to watch, such a menace to opposition, we really missed him when he was out.
Sometimes knee injuries can appear innocuous, but they are such a pain in the arse… I can speak about it, I’ve such dodgy knees.
Gosh, I still many days think how much Ole would’ve scored for us if he weren’t injured! so many people affected by knee trouble.

  35. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Have I mentioned how much I love Welbeck? And that too being a Manchester Lad and all that. Fantastic stuff, I think the last time we’ve had a local lad make it as an established striker was Hughes? Honestly hope Danny becomes a United legend.

  36. FletchTHEMAN says:

Gibbo is doing well as Everton come back to 1-1 in a game that they well could shoulda won v villa.. Don’t watch alot of Everton. But when I realized Gibbo might have been sent in to bolster the StealthUnited team of world domination I thought I would have a look. Gibbo really does fit as a holding and attacking mid and was impressive at times. Everton play a good type of football at times. In next 2 months EFC host (H) ManCity (A) Chelsea (A) LFC (H) Spurs & (H)Arsenal. Good call by Gibbo and Fergie?!

  37. james21 says:

Lebomanc. Wigan might just put more pressure on that scarf wearing suarve hypocrite. Carrick and Evans both played well. Bolton never showed much and Utd did what they had to do. Enough.

  38. Tonka Norris says:

Valenzia was outstanding today. He has cause to be pissed that he didn’t get a few assists today. We have the luxury of two very different strikers in Danny and Chico and there’s times when you wish the other one was on the field. But Danny has earned the starting slot no question.

Scholes in the top 10! Deserved. Legend

  39. united.george says:

FletchTHEMAN, watched the Everton game as well, he does fit in well there…had a couple of good tackles and a great pass to cahill who could not convert…good luck to him, would love to see him succeed there.

The Berba situation is really depressing….Was hoping he would be brought in for Rooney, or even Welbeck, but yet again, no Berba.

  40. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Welbeck’s clearly up the pecking order, it’s gonna take some stuff for Chicharito to move up. And Berba too, though not sure why Berba was put back on the bench following a double and a hat-trick and not even in the matchday squad against shitty. Guess, he’s not being trusted for doing the job when it comes to the big games. DId read article on how Pea’s supposedly suffering from the second season syndrome. Well, he’s had more injuries than the last season, very constipated season in terms of appearances. So can’t say that. But he’ll come good.

  41. Sandeep1878 says:

    Gangalf,

DannyTheLad is gonna ber super star..

The last one was a legend in teh form of sparky from Manchester local and i have every faith and hope that Danny will be as good as him if not better..

i m sure lot of bloggers will vouch for me…

    Fred,

hbow are u pal? missed your posts and conversation :P

  42. Fred says:

Just read that the Spurs game is the main event on MotD tonight, and we’re on second. WTF?

Hi Sandeep! I’m great, pal. How are you?

  43. Gandalf says:

oh yeah, bale is DA MAN – don’t you know that Fred? the whole world loves arry and bale and modric and vdv and god knows what about spurs! they play the most exciting football and everything, lalala.
London media have some of the biggest spuds in the world!!!!!

  44. Sandeep1878 says:

    Fred,

    I m fine buddy :)

    Gandalf,

Yeah Bale the super star and arry the best manager!! :P

  45. CedarsDevil says:

Excellent win, thought Valencia, Welbeck & Carrick were terrific and it had to be Scholes eh? With Evans back I thought our defense was solid as well.

    Lebomanc

I read your comment and your wish came true, Scholes did score the first!

  46. parryheid says:

Very pleasing to watch today, lots of big performances all over the pitch.Players coming back over the next week or two, right at the toughest time of our season starting to look rosy loads of punch up front does it get any better.

  47. CedarsDevil says:

Epic! Bloody loved it and whilst I know I am modest but truth be told I am stunningly handsome!

    Cheers pal

  48. CedarsDevil says:

Have to pay my own tribute to an RoM legend…..

Not only is he a top bloke, proper RED, one of RoM’s top ranters, recently became a father and also turns out he is quite good looking (No where near as good as me mind you haha)

    King Eric I salute you

  49. CedarsDevil says:

Right, back to football….. I thought Rafael had a decent game, loved his link up play with TV and he did make a few ‘Brazilian’ type moves as he took on people.

Also nice to see the media’s champions elect being held at home, I said before they will not last the pace.

The bitters will be feeling the pressure now, a situation they have never been in before and will eventually collapse, mark my words. Fergie will wait for the right moment to pounce and then Mancini will do a ‘Keegan’

  50. Red Nation says:

Great decision making by the manager and great performance from the lads.
Carrick is boy wonder all of a sudden. Keep it up Mikey.
Scholes is no legend, he is a footballing GOD.
    Valencia has been awesome recently.
Rooney done well, missed two pens now consecutively perhaps its time to give them to Nani or Carrick.

We have done well to bounce back, no game is easy in this league and we should go on a good run of form now. Our away form has been stunning, hope we win all the toughies coming up.

Yes Rio you Granny keep the good work up ;)
Hope Welbeck is ready for the next game, we’ll need some of his magic to beat Arsenal.

Suprised Rafa played, lets hope he stays fit and doesn;t dislocated something.

Really happy about this win, its Scholes, he puts a smile on everyones face, I missed him

  51. james21 says:

Cedars. And he has a bonkers mate. Top bloke, Big Al. Signed your banner. Everybody seams happy except for me who needs a cold beer. The coach is 100 degrees. Send me your address by e-mail when u get 5. UTD UTD UTD

  52. CedarsDevil says:

    James

Done oh and enjoy the heat pal!

  53. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
Thought you’d like it pal. Legend of a band for a legend bloke. Great speaking to you today. Can’t wait for march to give you some drinking lessons.
    James
Your not wrong, Alex is a fucking legend, funny as fuck. That bloke deserves a stage to perform on. I hope we see more of him. King Eric, if you’re on, send him our love. Loved the fact we bumped into King Eric with a book! East stand material right there!!

    Well done United!

  55. izzy says:

Good ol Sholesy!!! one for the haters!!!!!!

  56. izzy says:

The only downside is that Welbeck pull his hamstring again????? this is ridiculous!!! reminds me of SAHA…

  57. izzy says:

Gibson has to go if SAF was to bring in Pogba into the squad more regularly… makes sense since we need him in the long term…. Pogba will be on the bench every week now….

  58. Costas says:

Until he leaves in the summer.

  59. izzy says:

Anybody else notice that the ref had a part to play in Carrick’s brilliant strike? The ref provided him with a great shadow dummy run…. LOL

  60. Costas says:

Or even sooner. Until Ando is back.

  61. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

The mere sight of him in sunglasses gave it away, I was sure he is funny as fuck! These things are just apparent….. Great talking to you fellas as well.

Oh wait, is this a United blog or a dating site? Getting confused here

    smartalex

Bonne soirée mon amour…. I bet you enjoyed the win as much as I did

  62. Sparkz says:

Welbeck, Carrick and Rafael were terrific…Danny is someone I’ve been raving about for a long time now, and I’m chuffed to bits how he’s coming along. Good finish, takes him up to 8 for the season…but more than that, it’s his all round game which is fantastic. Although he’s not as clinical as Chicharito, or as silky as Berba….he still combines their best aspects together. The pace & workrate of Hernandez + the ability to hold up the ball like Berba + a whole heap more….power, energy, link up play, he just makes us a much more vibrant team going forward.

Rafael also gives us a new dimension at right back, energy is a key word again. Going forward he’s better than Smalling, and providing he stays fit, he should be our main RB. But it’s interesting to see what Fergie does at centre back……..Smalling is a superior player to Evans…..but we look really solid with Rio and Evans at the back, countless games they’ve played together this season, and they’ve produced some of our best defensive displays. After Rio + Vidic, Rio+ Evans has been our most reliable partnership so far. And as the old adage goes….the best players don’t always make the best TEAM….the same can apply to centre back partnerships….

Rooney was patchy, some good moments, some really poor moments….but he’s a matchwinner….and matchwinners produce the goods even when they’re playing poorly – 2 assists does me fine.

As for this whole Lindegaard vs De Gea debate that goes on here……..people constantly say that Lindegaard got his clean sheets against weaker teams…but was De Gea not playing at home against Blackburn Rovers when he made an error?
And yes, he had Carrick playing at centre back in front of him in that match….but a few days prior to that against Wigan – Lindegaard was in goal, and he also had Carrick at centre back (plus Evra in the second half)…..and he kept a clean sheet. So that argument doesn’t hold weight IMO.

Saying that, I do believe De Gea will be our long term number 1 – but at the moment, Lindegaard looks a far better bet, so we need to give him a run

  63. izzy says:

    @Costas, a little optimism please! lol…

  64. Sparkz says:

Btw, someone explain the concept of concussion to me lol? How did Rio play the last 15 and not remember them?? Unless it was delayed concussion and it hit him AFTER the match.

And did I mention how over the moon I was to see my favourite player of all time getting on the score sheet again? Last Sunday was the best day of 2012 so far for me…..the legend returning AND us beating City.
Today was right up there as well, never thought I’d see him celebrating a goal again!

  65. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – I did enjoy it, and I’m still enjoying it! When Scholes scored I went beserk, and haven’t come back down to earth yet! To Paul Scholes! Salute!

  66. Costas says:

    @izzy

It’s not about being optimistic. Gibson left because we didn’t want to lose him for nothing next summer. It had little or nothing to do with Pogba. He isn’t ready yet imo and that’s why Scholes returned. ;)

  67. FletchTHEMAN says:

United.George. Cheers mate. I was impressed with Everton. They were very unlucky not to be in the lead in the first half. Kept it wide and no long ball stuff. Chalked full of United quality as well. Wish them all the luck in their fixtures, particularly v the other top sides that they are against in the next couple of months.

  68. King Eric says:

Gotta agree with Orez. Thought Rooney was poor today. It wasn’t his assist for Dannys goal. It came off wheater. What a fucking ball by Carrick first half and what a finish with his left peg. The lad is in top form at present. Welbeck is just fucking quality. Tony was superb and put some belting crosses in. Back to his best of late. Decent performance all round really. Scholes you legend. Great movement and finish.

Scott Parker “its difficult when you are at the top because everyone wants to beat you“. Fuck off you silly cockney cunt. Last time I looked they were third. Welcome to the real world son where every game United play is the oppositions cup final. Those Spurs lot really are believing their own hype. Do one.

Commentator on rentboy game “to all intents and purposes its Torres s goal“. What? He hit the fucking bar the daft wankers. NEVER in a single season have I heard such piffle.

    Well done United!

  69. King Eric says:

Cedars. Hello mate. Saw your picture. You look one big motherfucker my friend. Top lad. Oh that Alex is fucking insane. Starting sitting behind me and my old man couple of seasons back and he drove us mad. Doesn’t give a fuck. Some of the stuff he shouts is cringeworthy. However over the last season and half he has become a great lad and makes the day. A nutter. A good heart though. Bought Tom a full United kit and a little United monkey thing. Great meeting Mike and James and Mike 2 or Cuzzer. All superb lads. Anyone else who goes get in touch and get all Mancunia in Sam Platts. Take care Cedars.

  70. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Cheers pal, I was gutted I did not get the chance to speak with you on the phone yesterday, had a great laugh with Mike and James……Next time for sure.

Do pass on a picture of Tom in his United gear to the lads and they will email it to me. Should be a cracker.

  71. Booch says:

Hi Everyone Utd 2 be champions again

  72. ScholesForGoals says:

    @KingEric

Sam Platts… talk about volume, they’d give the Blaize a good run for their money. Those boys in Platts can fucking sing, mugging off scousers and city. My best pre-match drinking experience near the ground.

Wouldn’t mind meeting up with some RoM boys pre-game, I’m not gonna be there for the Stoke game but am bang up for a few pints for the dippers game if any other like minded posters are going to be there?

Anyone know how Welbeck is and if he’s going to be ok for the Arse game? Carrick and Valencia bossed that. Good to hear us loud as fuck against the Wanderers at the weekend. Scholes. Your awesomeness doesn’t even surprise me anymore! Legend, nuff said.
