VIDEO: Valencia strangles Sterling

In England’s 2-2 draw with Ecuador this evening, Antonio Valencia was sent off for strangling Raheem Sterling after a horrible challenge from the Liverpool player.

Well worth the card.

Gwan Tony lad!

Surprised Valencia didn’t knock his front teeth out. Just one punch Tony. JUST ONE.

  2. m09538061 says:

Sterling is a prick getting Valencia sent off.If I was Valencia I would of knocked his head off
And people dont know why we hate Scousers.

  3. R McQueen says:

Go on Valencia! Should’ve choked that prick ’till he stopped breathing. Horrible tackle, in a friendly World Cup warm-up game too! Nearly ended Tony’s World Cup before it began.

  4. Xyth X says:

I can only blame Tony for being too lenient with the scouse bastard!

Should have knocked him out there and then.

  5. Tommy says:

Horrible tackle for that he desrved to to be stranled, he was a little lenient I thought, he should of strangled the life out of the bellend. In other news flaggon is the ugliest man I have ever had on my TV screen, what a vile looking humon, his mum and dad are definatly brother and sister

  6. gra mar says:

The type of challenge that could have put him out of the world cup, no wonder he went for him.
Red card alright but well earned for a change.

  7. EC7 says:

I can totally understand the reaction. Regardless of who dished out the tackle, it could have forced AV out of the World Cup. In the heat of the moment, that’s what’s going through his head. The tackle like that wasn’t warranted.

  8. WilliamAR says:

sterling connected with the ball first, it was a good old fashioned challenge in my view. Tony V over reacted and got the lad sent off. It’s becoming a joke that all slide tackles are considered bad now. christ rugby players get absolutely pounded and carry on. these fucking footballers are becoming a joke. bunch of fucking wimps. Sounds like people are slating sterling purely on the basis of the club team he plays for.

  9. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

I hope we all know that getting a touch on the ball does NOT automatically mean that a tackle is fair. There’s something called “Excessive force” and there’s an adjective called “excessively dangerous” Sterling’s tackle was absolutely BOTH. He caught him right on his leg and if Valencia did not raise up his leg, christ knows what would have happened. This isn’t about someone being a “Whimp” This is about someone trying to prevent a SECOND leg break 8 days before football’s biggest showpiece. FFS.

  10. BelfastRed says:

Tbf yeah he did connect with the ball first. But he also followed straight through. If tony v,s studs had of been in the ground it could’ve been a very nasty injury indeed. No need for such a rash challenge in a friendly either. Totally over the top. And i think he reacted the way most player’s would after the incident.

  12. Tommy says:

It was an out of control, wild lunge, simple as that, in a so called friendly game of all games, Nothing to do with being soft, I am all for hard tackles, but this tackle was just reckless simple as that

  13. Little Red Ant says:

I thought he was very restrained – wanted to do it but just pulled back from a full neck grip – maybe next time —- ooh I hope there is a next time!
