He’s not Van der Sar….he’s Won der Sar
Had the pleasure of meeting the legend. Top man as well has time for everyone
One-Der-Tsar.
And only one.
WELL SAID FRIENDS….
HE IS A GEM…REAL GEM
Van THE Man..
We all just knew what this magical sequence was going to end with. Brilliant. I remember being right behind the goal at Fulham when Van the Man played for the Londoners and he saved an ‘unstoppable’ volley from Ryan Giggs (in a 3-2 win for United). I thought then, this guy is very far from ‘past it’. Sign him up, Fergie, sign him up! If only he had done so a little earlier…
Absolutely fantastic goalkeeper. He has saved so many points for us.
I am proud to say…i had the pleasure of watching him play at OT
it will be really hard to get a goalie of his standard…love him!
Van Der Star
can’t wait to get home to watch it.
In my country Nigeria we call him van der save
Once again, happy birthday big guy.
Legend. What a keeper. Its also pretty cool to share a first name with him.
@Nnamdi: Cant say Ghanaian reds are that inventive but we love him all the same!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDWIN VAN DER SAR !!!!!! I’ll admit tears watered my eyes because of the last save. I am the happiest because we have the best goalkeeper in the world ever, and I am saddest because we will never have another one as good as him, it’s impossible. VIVA EDWIN VAN DER SAR !!!!!!
VIVA MANCHESTER UNITED !!!!!!
That anelka pen is one of the greatest moments in my life! Viva Red Army
Get me how happy Rooney is when he win Champions League
Happy b-day Van Der Sar, my you grace us as a goalkeeper many many years. Yeah he can
I remember watching him at Ajax, i said to my old fella, we should sign him. We had the great dane, who was a little bit better imo, but he was older and when his time was up, Edwin would be the perfect replacement. Well it turned out I was right for once, he has been the best keeper since Pete. We should have signed him earlier.
Happy Birthday Edwin.
Van Der Sar= Legend Forever.
That Anelka save will remain with me for eternity- the hand movements pointing which way, the save, the reaction- amazing
One of the greatest goalkeepers of all time . We are honoured to have had you with us . just amazing. Happy Birthday Edwin !!
check this out off topic but hilarious pic of you know who..re

we dont appreciate Edwin the way we should!!!!!
OLD IS GOLD thats van the man for you!!
he is a true legend
Can we replace him when he’s gone?
Happy Birthday Edwin!
Thanks for the saves!
Happy Birthday! Hope you make your big day all the more special with a clean sheet against the Spurs.
West Ham away in the Quarter-Final.
World Class VDS – always felt we should have signed him back in 1999 to replace the great Dane – would have saved all that heartache with the clowns we bought before getting this great man in 2005.
@Kings
I agree, we would have more trophies in the museum had VDS replaced Schmeichel rather than Bosnich, Howard, Carroll, Taibi, Barthez etc etc etc etc!
All the best, Edwin.

what a legend….. In our history-One of our best keepers
Next up Van De Gea
He is very much like Scholes a lot I feel. He is this very brooding, silent type who rarely says a lot and doesn’t grab too much attention for himself. IMO, he is in direct contrast to The Great Dane. It really says a lot when we can have two different characters on the field in one position, but still be regarded as awesome legends in their own right.
I still regard that save off Anelka as my favorite Manchester United moment. It was great because I started supporting only in 2000, so was just late for the most amazing night of 99. It was my first CL victory as a fan and it came off a wonderful save by Edwin. Thanks for that amazing moment and millions of more in the past and still to come, Edwin!
What a difference a quality keeper makes
I never really rated VDS that much, before he came to United, but he’s been a class keeper for United.
Happy Birthday Edwin!
Many Happy Clean Sheets!
Wish we had signed him earlier instead of experiementing with Howard, that ended in disaster. Happy Birthday VDS! Hopefully he can extend his Utd career to a further 2 years, he is still one of the best at what he does.
