Best performance this season. Our players showed up and played Chelsea off the park. Webb tried to help them with a few decisions but it doesn’t matter the 19th is on it’s way home.

    Glory glory Man United!

  3. Macheda is GOD says:

    Fucking get in

    Park MOM.

    Champions.

Gibson and Obertan rested for Barca.

    Great day.

  6. Alpha_RS says:

Howard Webb somehow kept Ivanovic on the pitch and denied us x2 penalties but we don’t care.
It makes it all the sweeter! Get in there.
An absolutely awesome perfomance. The scoreline did not do us justice!

  7. Doghouse says:

Park was playing for his name on the team sheet against Barca, and he’s earned it in my view. He was absolutely superb. They all were. And how about the way Valencia destroyed Ashley Cole? Or the way Giggs was skinning players half his age? Or Rooney firing in shots like a field gun? It was an absolutely world class display.

  8. kanchelskis says:

I’d like to be the first to mention MICHAEL CARRICK on this thread.

If he can replicate that performance against Barca, we have every chance. I genuinely believe that.

  9. Costas says:

I think today we saw how we can match Barcelona. The first 45 minutes were a great example. Press them high up the pitch and hit them fast on the break.

ON another note, anyone notice Evans’ little touchline trick? Put Nani to shame. :D

  10. SingaRed says:

STR, any chance we can see a video of the celebrations at the final whistle? Thanks!

  11. Doghouse says:

Added bonus for today, was great to see Sideshow Bob destroyed. CFC and the media have been making such a noise about Luiz since they signed him and he appeared to be pretty good. But he got absolutely torn to piece today. If they hadn’t subbed him at half time we’d have had three or four, because when Alex came on they did much better. Torres also was a near complete non-entity when he entered the match.

The future is bright for us boyos, but for Chelsea? I think this will be their last throw of the dice, they need a hell of a lot of work. And while that’s happening I can’t see them in the running for the title.

This has been a hell of a tough season, but I tell you what, I reckon #20 shouldn’t be nearly so close.

  12. Twisted Fatboy says:

Evening you beautifull people you, That was a proper united display…. better finishing and we could have really made them look crap…. instead of just pedestrian, skill-less, thick mercinaries.

Has Ivanovic pictures of every ref naked? I believe he would need to knife someone to get a second yellow….. still who cares, Park, Giggs, Carrick and Valencia have made a good case for the final.

    BRING ON TIPPY TAPPY BARCA!!!!!!

  13. Whiteside says:

Disgusted by United today! To only beat Chelsea by one when it should have been about five – fucking bottlers!

Seriously though – fucking get in you beauty! Awesome performance we pissed on them and left no-one in any doubt who the best team in England is.

Barca you tippy tappy cunts we are coming for you – be afraid!

  14. Costas says:

Thanks for the support tweeps, old trafford was rocking! Great team performance! I even saw a #stayonyourfeet banner in the warm up hahaha!

  15. Jed says:

Congratulations, 2-1 flattered us a lot.
I thought the first 25 minutes, whilst we were awful, you were superb. Some of your counter-attacks were unstoppable, and Park is one hell of a midfielder, I’ll give you that- does he ever stop running :/
As for us I hope to God we don’t get rid of Ancelotti. He’s been treated like dirt, and yet despite this we’re still closest to you ahead of the shite from North London. What we DO need is a radical overhaul, get rid of Essien and Drogba, find a new midfielder to replace Lampard eventually.
Oh well, enjoy it! Most consistent team by a long shot, worthy winners. If there’s any consolation for me it’s that the scum from Anfield have been overhauled. Fuck their history…

  16. parryheid says:

How about that performance.Liverpool its United’s perch and you ain’t getting back on it.

Barcelona be worried were coming for you.

  17. socratestee says:

Great game. STR can you please give a list of players that will/can get medals after 10 games. Thanks

  19. Costas says:

    @Jed

Fair enough. Cheers for being gracious in defeat. If I were you, I’d want Torres gone though. :)

  20. DKB07 says:

How can no one think that Valencia was MOTM.
He destroyed one the best Left Back’s the Premier League.
Usually the midfielder occupies him, the wrong way round.
Valencia gave him no breathing space, even bloody Smalling could run half way up the pitch
If Messi plays on the left, which I doubt, you won’t see him the whole match.

And Giggs, have you seen a better player over the age of 35, EVER?

  29. Ibrahim Affelay says:

    @DKB07

I believe most of us here think Park is THE man of the match, of course with TonyV being a close second but i do get you when TonyV murdered Cashley Cole time and time again though

But please do check your fact. Sir Ryan Giggs is 37 and still kicking ass!

how many times we saw it today? valencia giving cover for fabio..then running the whole yards to yield the counter..

with Valencia in such form, i would love messi against him,

our strength is that our attacking front falls back when ball is in our court, and we are snap quick in counters..the same will make us beat UEFALONA..

i think the MOM should be given to EVANS for that lil trick or smalling for that great run :P Lol ha ha

  32. Ferane-Mauritius says:

    @jed
in your comment we can easily show you the distinction between your club and the united culture. You are talking about removing your club legends-we agree that they are lower qualiy legend as compared to the one united have- such as drogba, essien! Here the united culture is to keep all our legends since they are member of our family! This ir why we are so successful…

  33. sachu says:

@\sandeep do u think carlo will go i do like him never moans or groans abt anything and if they sack him i hope they choose fsw

  34. WFW!!!? says:

    Gracious words Jed.

Park was always going to play at Wembely.

That first 25 minutes are a heads up to Barca (*best team ever) tm. We will suffocate the midfield and then hit them hard on the counter.

    El Chicharito, El Chicharito
He’s gonna score us lots of goals

    El Chicharito, El Chicharito
He’ll even score them with his nose!

    Legendary performance boys.

  35. Ferane-Mauritius says:

    @Ibrahim Affelay
all our players were MOTM mate!

  36. Colbert says:

Ancelotti is a pretty decent guy. He conceded that we were the better team and that we will deservedly win the league. I think he’s pretty fair in his assessments most of the time. Unlike that French prick.

  38. Ibrahim Affelay says:

    @Ferane-Mauritius

if you put it that way Sir Alex Ferguson should be included too dont you think?

I agree with what Gnev said before replacing Sir Alex would be the greatest challenge for the club i mean he is the perfect choice for the cliche “living legends”!
but still check out this link http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/493148327?-11193

I almost inevitably find myself arguing tirelessly with the occasional opposition supporter who visits RoM, but your comment was a pleasant change. I quite like Ancelloti- it’s a shame he’s been made a scapegoat for Chelsea’s follies.

And yes, I hate the Anfield scum as much as anybody else.

At any rate, tough luck. Number 19 is ours. GGMU.

  46. CedarsDevil says:

Apart from a fantastic performance today, 4 things stand out for me…. Rooney kissing the forehead of Vidic after the goal, the camera on Sir Bobby clapping at the end, Hernandez crying after the final whistle and finally Sir Alex bowing to the crowd…

  47. dela says:

Piers Morgan’s predictions at the start of the season:

Chelsea will win the league comfortably.
Blackpool will be relegated by the end of December.
Real Madrid will win the Champions League.

What a deluded cunt. Who asks him for his predictions anyway?

  53. Costas says:

Speaking of Piers MOrgan, he finally saw the light:

“Most unsettling thought on how #Arsenal blew it? I think Sir Alex would have won us silverware from where were a month ago, incl the Prem.

As Ferguson fired himself up for the business end of the season – Wenger sulked, moaned, chucked bottles and made excuses.

This United team’s not a great one, but Ferguson’s instilled the hunger, desire & commitment you need to win titles. They deserve to win.

Can’t ignore the bleeding obvious. Look at Fergie’s body language in last few weeks v Wenger’s. Says it all.”

  54. CedarsDevil says:

Barca must be shitting their panties after today. Platini can only do so much boys

  57. willierednut says:

Fair play Jed. See, opposition fans can come on here, without being aggressive and give their views. A great team performance, but I’d single out 4 players for special mention. Vidic, Hernandez, Valencia and Carrick. Work rate hunger and desire unmatched today. I didn’t mention Park, because I ain’t surprised by Ji’s performance. He’s a 100% player every game. Very much under rated, but not by me and the vast majority of United faithful. Also, if United and Sir Alex Ferguson beat the great Barcelona on the 28th May, there will be no more doubts who is the greatest manager from these shores. He already is IMHO the best, but I’m a tad biased ya see.

  58. Alpha_RS says:

    @willierednut
Ji Sung Park – A Big Game Player…!

  59. Jed says:

    @Paddy
haha you had me for a second!

Cheers for the response, there’s no point going on opposition fans’ sites only when you’ve won, gotta take the rough with the smooth :/

    Congratulations to everybody here!

  64. Dave Mack says:

Berba hugging Hernandez at the final whistle ….class …. class ….. class!

  65. fergie is the boss says:

willierednut – I am sticking to this long term view on how I see fergie setting up united for the next phew years, that fergie wants schneider to fit into the giggs role has that little clever dribbling player, who can ling up the play with pace. I really think, united have played their best football this season, when its carrick cleaning up, giggs coming forward and being the extra forward with valencia park or nani out wide and rooney playing off hernandez. I do think fergie has found a 451 formation that mutates into a 442 when we break forward. Next season I can see

    ??
    fabio/rafeal ferdinand vidic evra
    carrick schneider/giggs
    valencia rooney nani/park
    hernandez

These I can see being united’s top 14 players that fergie would choose from. I do think fergie wants schneider has the berbatov replacement, if we need to rest hernandez or rooney, fergie can play schneider in the hole and playing off either rooney or hernandez.

    @ sachu..

u asked do u think carlo would go..

mate, the situation of rent boys maagers is that, rather than would carlo go, it is, will roman let carlo continue? :P

its not the managers that want to leave chelsea, its that greedy owner who wwants instant success..

success is built and not bought, most of the times..

yeah i do agree to ur point that carlo is good, even SAF says it a lotta times..

cheeers mate, have a nice sunday night or wateva coz its midnight in India and i m 3 hours away from ofc log in :P

good night fella reds, u make me proud :)

  69. Costas says:

    @willie

There’s one phrase you said months ago that’s always stuck with me. “Valencia is roasting Ashley Cole”. The sequel was just as good today. :D

  70. jellybean says:

Feel so good. Had a good feeling before the game, which never happens when we play our rivals. 19 here we come. And then Wembley. On the road to glory now…

  71. James7t7 says:

Well done lads!!! Impressive Performance by everyone… 1 point to goooooooo!!

  72. Fergie Mind Tricks says:

    Overwhelmed.

  73. Balaji Sivaraman says:

The stats at the end flattered Chelsea. It seems they had more shots on goal and more shots in general. But barring a few fine saves from VDS and their goal, I don’t remember them threatening our goal that much. In fact, even after it was 2-1, I was fairly confident that we could get the win. They just did not have the goals in them.

We should’ve murdered them today. Had a lot of good chances to kill it off. Not that it matters, we needed 3 points and we got it. All I am saying is that the scoreline suggests that the overall match was more closer than it actually was.

We proved we are the best team in England (by a fair distance might I add) and that we deserve to win the trophy. Not that I expect the ABUs to accept it but still…

Carlo Ancelotti deserves a better club than Chelsea. I have immense respect for the man for what he has done in spite of buying players he did not want and having players talk back to you like the cunt Luiz did today. He should be at a club where He is the most important person at the club and not some moneybag shitheaded owner.

Chelsea’s cunt fans are spoilt. The man has just won you a League and Cup double and has bought you from 15 to 3 points within the title and you want him sacked. Chelsea and Their Fans = Small and light headed.

  74. willierednut says:

Costas – I forgot about that mate lol. How many wingers have Ashley Cole on toast? Cole must hate playing against Tony v.

  75. PHZ says:

    I feel good :-)

  76. Jed says:

    @Balaji
I think most Chelsea fans who I know are 100% behind Carlo, only the Johnny come latelys and other idiots want him out. I do agree though that Ancelotti needs to be respected more by Abramovich, though he is used to meddling owners from his time at AC Milan. I agree to an extent we have been spoilt, though not as much as you have :p

  77. Zelh says:

Hernandez winning more premier league titles in his first year than stevie me in his whole carreer.

  78. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Jed, To be fair mate, I was talking about what I see on Sports sites and Forums and most of your lot have been calling for his head which I found surprising after what he’s done. As you said, the older Chelsea fans might understand patience while the new spoilt fans under Abramovich’s regime will just not give a fuck about it and want Ancelotti gone.

  79. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Zelh, LOL, that quote needs to be framed or made into a poster next time Liverpool visit us.

  80. rooneyisclass says:

I wonder what would happen if we wernt so average?
Fuck you,you media pricks, fuck you adrian durham who laughed at the thought of utd winning the league at the start of the season, fuck you scousers for being scousers, fuck you piers morgan, and fuck all you arsenal fans who had the quad won two months ago!!

  81. apostleUTD says:

Total respect to SAF. Team in peak form for the most important match of the year (till now). Now bring us la puta barcelona. Gun is still hot.

  82. DAVE RED says:

Most one sided 2-1 i have ever seen, we could and should have won by at least 5
clear goals, United showed a worldwide audience how they can play.

I havent heard Old Trafford so loud in years.

  83. willierednut says:

FITB – It’s still too early yet mate, to say who Fergie will go for in the summer. As for the manager, he adopts mate, simply as that. He can deal with most situations, like the Rooney drama. He has Giggs playing in CM now. Carrick has found his form again. Rooney playing slightly deeper and the lad Hernandez as the spearhead in attack. Hands down the best club manager from these shores. And, still willing to learn and incorporate that learning into the team/squad.

  84. brisbanefan says:

Great result for the boys today and also Fergie’s backroom staff.
On a slightly different note – with the total abject performances put in by Torres since his move to Stamford Bridge it may well be that a move away from Chelsea is on the cards.
Should Fergie make a £25million bid for him?
Would he be a good replacement for Berbatov, who I feel will be gone in the summer?

  85. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Also, I hate to say I told you so but… We were not favored by 99% of the popular pundits and we destroyed Chelsea in the end. Listen to the master (ME) when I say that we win when we are expected to lose by everybody else. 8)

  86. Utd4life says:

  89. The-Chelsea-Smile says:

I’d be pissed off you guys cant replicate that form against Barca & prove you dont just got a thing against Chelsea. You cant let a spanish club win at wembley.

  90. WFW!!!? says:

Carlo is way to classy to stay at Chelsea. Knows how to take it on the chin and keep his head up, unlike some of his miserable peers.

  91. MG says:

This post is being repeated on a few blogs I don’t know where everyone is – I am however back home from OT…

    I don’t know where to begin…

If you knock my club and you believe you can throw it down then you are wrong – there were 70 thousand plus Manchester United supporters at OT standing together relentless in one pursuit

If you think because we may have fallen and we won’t get back up then you are wrong

We are here – not only those of us that grace each and every corner of OT – all of us from wherever we are – we are all here – standing shoulder to shoulder for United

To all of you as United fans who ridiculed your own club – apologise – apologise for your fucking hypocrisy and betrayal – Manchester United will never die – United are never beaten – we may run out of time but we are never beaten.

To all of you who don’t believe – you don’t have to – do not now sing our praises because all along we have told you that if you dishonour our shirt we will come together to defend with everything we have got. To those that hate us – we do not despise you – to those that want us to die:

Manchester United lost a team that would have been the greatest of any generation – but Manchester United never lost there spirit – you cannot break our spirit – whatever you say to us means nothing – whatever you do to us means nothing – we are unbowed – we will not bow to no one – you cannot touch us you cannot break us – we are Manchester United

This belongs to every United fan that believes – we are taught many things in life but believing in United sets us apart.

Today I went home – today I went to OT – I like all of my friends – and you know who you are – I believed – I believed that today history and destiny would have to collide.

    Now we have redemption left.

To all of you that have been on my journey and I on yours – I say to you that today I wore the crest on my shirt and I knew that Manchester United would rise.

Manchester United rose. This shirt is not only a shirt – it is a symbol of profound greatness.

And within that greatness lies a defiance unmatched and unparalleled.

    For United

  92. brett1985 says:

So does anyone else agree that the list of matches where we were faced with a task and completed it is growing and growing?

I mean we were tired in the city/arsenal matches but apart from that games we’ve had to win, we’ve won. Schalke (twice), Chelsea (thrice), West Ham (when losing), Blackpool (when losing).

We may have played within ourselves but generally, when it has come time to deliver the lads haven’t let us down. It bodes well for Barcelona. I’d rather have faced a bit of adversity as we have and come back from it. The fact that Chelsea had a sniff before today and that we snuffed them out is a further boost to the self belief of the team, as opposed to having wrapped up the title weeks ago and then perhaps taking our eye off the ball.

    One word

    Momentum.

    We have it, Barcelona…

When Parky started the 2009 CL final against Barca I calleb it a sentimental selection, given he never made the 08 squad, but fuck me does he deserve it this year, won the game for us today in my opinion, pure class. Enjoy this moment fellow reds, , what a day, what a team!

  94. LA Red says:

    @MG:
I didn’t think my spirits could get any higher after today’s great victory. You, Sir have hit the proverbial nail on the head! I bow to you!

19 is 99% in the bag.

And Barca you’d better be very worried……….

  95. Devil310 says:

MG – fucking loved it mate. Thanks for sharing those words. Please do never underestimate the pleasure and honor to be able to see our United play week in and week out. Those that live far away and do not get to go see the matches how they are meant to be seen can only envy those of you who can. However, it is a good envy, as we know that many of you are shouting, singing and cheering our boys the way they deserved to be cherished.

The reds go marching on….and will always :)

This is one of my most happiest day in my life!!!!! :) I didn t watch the game, but when i heard on the news…i was UHHHHHH!
My joy will be complete if we win the CL.

If we win Barca…and get 4th CL trophy…then we are the greatest! With this squad it is a miracle!
And when i hear that players say: “We are good in Inter, or i dont know…Tottenham…” i would punch him in face! To work with the greatest ever manager in human history, you must be stupid.
Players should get in front of SAF s office and beg him to offer them a contract, and say that they will play for half price…but they are arrogante, they will think about Manchester United…pih! Go to hell!

I pray to God that we win Barca…the same way they won us 2 years ago. We can do that if we will have “our day”…just that eary goal dont break us. SAF deserve 5 CL…but if he take s this one, and we have 4 it is ok…
I want us to win not just because od trophy…but to brake this Barca, and the journalist that makeing religion from their game.

  100. Saad says:

It’s wonderful to see Berba celebrate with his teammates with genuine happiness. I hope he gets his chance for glory in the final against Barca.

  101. Kevin says:

I knew Ashley will have it rough. Barca will have a macth onn their hands, all their passing wont work with us

  102. willierednut says:

The Chelsea Smile – Fair play mate. We’ll try our best, to beat the drama queens to Wembley.

  103. Saad says:

Can someone please tell me what is the chant the crowd is shouting in the first video above from 0:46 onwards? I keep hearing it all the time but I can’t make out what they are saying, but I love it.
