    Hi mate. Not really. He’s using that as an excuse to keep his fans optimistic. Like Ben Hibbs said on twitter, the Fabregas sale is similar to Ronaldo’s. The Nasri one, is a clear indication that Arsenal are considered a team in decline and players looking to win trophies don’t want anything to do with them.

    Well – I think the players have shafted him – tbh Costas he is what he is but his longevity should allow him respect – remember when SAF went through the crap regarding Chelsea and Mourinho?

    And now we have the same rubbish with city though we are the champions and not them – I’m merely looking at what these managers have given to football – at the end it’s the players on the pitch that should represent what the manager desires – sometimes our team lets us down as well – but we carry on because we know whats coming

    Maybe Arsenal fans don’t have that luxury that we have with youth – the only thing about Ronaldo was that he made sure we got top dollar for him – something Cesc isn’t doing – and ultimately thats sad

    As for Nasri – if it was purely for trophies then he would have moved for any other team than city – another player who is just looking at his pay check – in all honesty Costas 185,000 a week for Nasri? Mate between you and me he isn’t even fit to lace Nani’s boots – fuck his own – so it’s disrespect more than anything – Nasri owes a lot to Wenger – but of course when money talks then the bullshit walks – Clichy anyone?

    We all move on Costas – for us our fire now is addressed to Barca and finding a way to beat them – maybe the defeat at Wembley has hurt SAF so much that it was time to create a one last United to do that.

    Only time will tell – but one cannot also deny that Arsenal have an uncanny knack of having players injured at the wrong time – if that wasn’t the case they would have been more than meets the eye to coin a phrase ;)

    Anyway I’m off – be back later need to drop my cousin off at the airport

    I don’t want to sound like this all about trophies, but I do feel that Wenger(as much as I respect him) is the main reason why his legacy is getting tarnished. Not saying he should be trying to buy the Sneijders of the world but at least show that you acknowledge your routine isn’t working anymore. Shake things up a bit. When Fergie went 3 years without the league title (not 6 without one single trophy), he realized he had to change things. He sold Ruud, he reinvented his midfield, he bought Vidic and Evra. Wenger doesn’t show any signs of being flexible and that’s what’s hurts their fans more than anything. It doesn’t shock them anymore when their team falls apart every March. And Arsene’s answer to these players leaving? “United lost Ronaldo and look what happened”. Again, he’s deflecting the main issue.

    Yeah, Nasri is ungrateful and I wouldn’t pay him 100k, let alone 185k. But he does echo what Evra and others have said about Wenger’s Arsenal time and time again. Maybe he would have stayed at Arsenal for a lot less if he was confident that they were in a position to challenge for trophies.

    Morning mate. Oh yeah, I am a constant typo artist. It’s what I do best. :) I am in such a rush to post the comments that I never double check.

    What the Wes situation comes down to imo is what the clubs want. The only certain thing is that the player wants to move. But do United want to pay what Inter and Sneijder are asking? Not so sure. Do Inter need the money now that Eto is sold? Again, not so sure. Lets hope the issue is put to bed one way or another soon.

    A very interesting point raised by a guy on twitter by the way – The paper that said that Sneijder deal is off is Daily Mail and they say their source is someone from United.

    Fergie just asked them to fuck off the other day, I don’t think anyone from United will be talking to them anytime soon.

    I think that Costas is spot on. In my opinion SAF is playing the perfect game theory knowing the position of the opposition. True, the Eto money will be a boost for them, but Sneijder seems to have made up his mind and wants to join United. And what other club is out there to meet his wage demands? Two clubs could afford him, Citeh and Chelsea. However Mod will join Chelsea and Nasri will join Citeh. The offer will come. But it will probably be deep into august.

    Having watched the preseason games, and the testimonials, and even the Celtic/United legends game, I’m really, really keen to see some PL action.     I think its important to make sure the future of the club… players like Anderson (potentially), Cleverley (definitely), Morrison, Pogba and Tunnicliffe (who should get excellent experience on Loan) continue to get the development and game time needed for this. Like many I think that the midfield we have still has the quality enough to win the premier league, although remember this is essentially still the same midfield that was unable to win more than 5 games away from home, but i think the additions will improve that. BUT, europe is a different matter. If we go up against Barcelona, Madrid, without an addition like Sneijder then i’m afraid it’ll be the same old, same old. Because simply put – i belive we have excelent players that win premierships but Carrick, PArk and i believe Fletcher are nowhere good enough to compete against the VERY top which at some point to win a champions league you will have to. I thought Cleverley and Anderson have shown that we too, like Barca can produce a midfield which when faced with a midfield that is imposing, aggressive and relies on physicality (like Citeh’s), then we can beat it with skill and football awareness, which for me has been the most impressive thing about this preseason. Its wether this can be reproduced in the cauldron of a premiership which is becoming more physical and competitive.
