Two pitch invaders ran on the pitch as foster was taking a kick out and buried the ball in the back of the net…
The united supporters started singing ’sign him up fergie’… priceless
also fabio was booked for a foul that rafael committed.
they should shave one of their heads or make one wear a bell or somethin
Foster was too slow …he should have fucking lamped one of the idiots and sparked the cunt out.
we are in a deep trouble with the refs. they are taking their revenge on us following Fergie’s comments. That was a terribly bias refreeing. How was at 86′, Fabio got tackled from behind, no booking but at 88′, Tosic was booked for that soft tackle?
The ref turned blind eye to so many of Barnsleys’ fouls, but we got yellow cards for much softer challenges. This is annoying..
To me, so far Obertan looks very much overrated by our fans. That youtube video is the culprit.
Welbeck is so matured. He is more consistent than Macheda.
Anderson is developing a knack for beautiful defence-splitting thru’ passes.
I think Tosic deserves a game with the 1st team in the EPL.
Michael Owen’s goal was fucking class. Come on Fergie, give him a start this weekend.
i agree about the refs, they are against us more and more
It was a funny game. Welbeck’s Bolt celebration…The ref: Fabio was booked for a foul that Rafael committed
) The 2 idiots –> Fergie sign him up
United away fans are the best!
Btw, how big the squad at reserve level too. Gibson, Eikrem not even on the bench. Welbeck started ahead Tosic on the wing. Matt James? Petrucci? Brandy? Etc…And the two guy out loan Ljajic and Mame…
This fella was also good:

I agree that the referees will be particulary harsh on us from now on. Fergie’s comments about Wiley has given them the green light to do that. But, today it was the 12th red card in the last 14 months. It’s too much. We are not a team full of Vinny Jones and Dennis Wise type players. There is no excuse for so many red cards!
Could anyone get the Tosic shoot, that just missed? What a talented player the guy is. Really should get more chances. Welbeck and Ando were imense today. Owen, scored a beauty!
yeah that red card by Gary was stupid though.. from now on our players have to be extra careful..
@c7
disagreed, obertan was absolute class until he run out of gas around the 65th minute.
Just on the way back from Barnsley absolutly class tonight! Rafael in centre mid was shite but still what an atmosphere!
He’s big he’s bad hes Wesley brown the hardest man in all the town with orange hair beware come and have a go if u dare
@Keano that’s 1 reason why i say he is still not good enough.
Anyway he is an interesting prospect, though i wouldnt say he is in the wonderkid category..
Obertan is definitely the player we missing now. His running through the centre. No one player is able to do that in our team. Valencia run to the wide. Nani seldom run and losses ball on many occasions. As for the referee, i bet the chief is having a plan some where on man united. You will never know.
@cantona7
Is the lad not just coming back from Injury!.. I thought that a player had to play about 10 games before he was fully match fit and at maximum sharpness! Might be wrong but i know it is too early to judge the lad!
As for owen goal, really awesome. The turn he make, the run he created, the space he found, the time his shot, the goal itself = class.
Thought ando was brilliant tonight, albeit against lower opposition, but ran the m’field and some gr8 passing!
Welbeck is showing signs of brilliance, and wes solid at the back, just what we need to see from our squad tonight! Well done lads!
The Owen goal was fantastic – I love the netmeg and far post finish. Very quick on the draw
is anyone disgusted by the medias treatment of fergue yet benitez gets away with murder
Didn’t see the game as i now live in New Zealand and they don’t show the League cup games here. Listened to Mickey T’s commentary on MUTVonline though. Why was Rafael played in midfield, Where was Darron Gibson? Owens goal is class, i think he might get the nod ahead of Berba this weekend. I’d like to see more of Tosic, it’s a shame we were down to 10 men not long after he came on. Can anyone tell me, did Neville deserve a red as Mickey T thought not, or is it just refs against UTD again?
I am fuming with the medias treatment of the great man, and am I right a idioic man utd fan phoned up MUTV and wanted fergie rightis that right
did some man utd fan wanted fergie out is that right if thats true then thats a disgrace, we have been champions forever. some ppl have not realised that we have been champions and the trophy has failed to leave the club since april 2006 thats how long it was
Kiko is going to be a monster of a central attacker once he gets that final 10% development into his game.
Welbeck in my opinion is too haphazard and selfish, almost too much at times to benefit the team. The goal was nice but as far as game maturity is concerned, it seems that half these youngsters still need to improve in that aspect.
Kiko, Tosic and Obertan were standouts IMO. Level headed and will segue into the senior team nicely.
@manchuchu u taking the piss about welbeck he was fantastic great movement, quick, nice one twos! Yet u think kiko stood out along with tosic?? U must be joking
“Gary has followed through and caught the boy, not high but just above the ankle and in the present climate I think the referee was probably correct. We won’t appeal.”
anyone know when the carling cup draw will be done
Cannot stop watching Owen’s goal over and over again, can’t get enough of it. Fucking class!
Ando, Obertan, Welbeck and Tosic had a good game tonight. We shouldve scored more but midfield and defence was shaky at times.
Dint see the game but its good to see owen playing with a smile on his face. he seems content to wait for his chance at a run in the first team and it says a lot about the player when hes up for an away game in the carling cup against Barnsley.
United fans were great they never stopped singing . As always united away fans proved themselves as the best . I liked obertan , it”s kiko”s first full match i dont want to judge him but he had few good touches . But why we ere playing rafael in the middle ?? We dont need another midfielder for sure
Went to the match, loved it. United’s away fans are fantastic. Saw a few ignorant tossers doing the aeroplane! Don’t they know that two barnsley lads died? Thick twats. Overall a good performance, obertan did well for his first game.
I do like Macheda’s game tonight esp after the red card which affected Tosic’s game a little. Can anyone tell me not even Carling cup! Good performance from Anderson still can’t understand why he didn’t play on Sunday. Can’t wait till this weekend Owen – Berba up front?
Fuckin Hell. Best away in ages. Unfortunately I have got back to see the awful pictures of the snack bar which has marred tonight somewhat. The fans that ran on were I believe Barnsley fans. Great fucking atmosphere. Think Barnsley fans were in awe at our support tonight, it was fucking electric in the North Stand. Everytime I looked over they were never watching the game but listening to United’s songbook. Great to see Owen score and get a superb reaction. “Michael Owen is a red he hates Scousers”!
Also good to hear that Obertan has a song already.
cantona7 – Disagree completely mate. Obertan looked decent tonight for his first proper run out. Got two yellow cards against Barnsley players as they just couldn’t handle his pace. Great prospect. Like Keano said he ran out of steam after 65 minutes but that is to be expected.
After today, some things should be highlighted… Ando deserves play more in the first team, his pass to Welbeck from midfield was Scholesy type.
Danny is ready to play little by little in the first team, and Tosic should be seen a lot more than he is now. Kid is great, really great.
You don’t mess with the Zoran!!! Yeah!!
All away fans sing non stop. Away fans from just about every team are better than home fans. Thought people knew this by now. It sas Obertan’s first game, so I can’t judge him too much. He looked a pretty good player at Bordeaux (stop watching youtube), but people saying he was great tonight have no clue. He might be great in a few weeks/months/years, but tonight he was very average.
Dani – Agree mate.
I was under the impression we only bought Tosic so we could get that other kid whos joining in Jan. Either way good to see he got a game tonight, we have a lot of postions that are up for grabs at the moment so everyone should be busting their hump to get in the team.
Kind of impressed with Obertan.. He’s got the tricks but also looks to have discipline, he will do well when he plays with the likes of Rooney and Berba.
What was the idea behind Rafa in midfield?, that was a failed experiment if any! Was Gibson injured?
The boy Macheda has pace! He is a fantastic build for a CF, could be our Benzema!
O and finally.. what go on with De Leat, he couldn’t do a thing right after coming on!
Oh dear! Not going too well for the fascists is it! Ha ha. For those that said last week they preferred Ronaldo to Eric, I didn’t hear too many Ronaldo songs tonight did you?
Tony Starks – Is your username re: The Wu Tang Clan? Just a quick one about de Laet. Funny that people earlier today were saying “he’s too good for the reserves”. Some people really need to put things in a better perspective!
King Eric
well been busy all day and I have been sick I did not see the game so I cant judge, but I AM DISGUSTED HOW THE MEDIA HAVE BEEN ON THIS power trip to demorilise the great manager add the fact some bone head fan on MUTV wanting fergie out is a disgrace
how about real madrid losing to the team from the second division in spain??? so much for the team of the century…..even with benzema and raul, they lost 4-0.
King Eric – Tony Stark(s) the Iron Man! Wu Tang? yes that is correct…
It was just a light hearted comment about De Late, the guy was in a no-win situation today, coming on after the red card and with not much protection from midfield.
King Eric
my rule in my world we dont say the R word its over now ppl need to get over it he is gone he may regret it, I wish he stayed but oh well. we miss his penetration in atack because our attackers all go deep, but maybe you never know obertin could give us that dimension I have been banging on about. a bit of magic and control going forward
Starting strikes for every game should be Macheda and Owen. They make Rooney and Berba look like chumps.
Tosic is good. Got pace.
Macheda’s got some panache. Tricks, flicks, and an arrogance that oozes out of his pores. He’ll be a monster in a couple years
Additionally, Anderson is still about as overrated player that’ll ever be in our squad.
Can you name one top club that would have him in their staring lineup????
RedDeviled Egg
what has macheda done 2 be playing ahead off rooney why dont you stop living in fantasy land and wake up. has for owen dont make me laugh. macheda and owen makes rooney look like a chump you really know nothing off the game do u
RedDeviled Egg
I am not a great lover of anderson but mourinho and inter were interested in signing him
Welbeck might have scored but he showed a serious lack of positional discipline that would kill the team in a big league game. It surprising how some fans are giving him props and slagging off Macheda when the latter had a more subdued but much more mature performance.
Danny gave the ball away needlessly on more than one occasion and also took a couple of chances away from Owen with his selfishness where Owen had the better position to score.
All in all overall I think Kiko showed much more control and vision though he was not as much a firecracker in this game as Danny was. Then again we were playing Barnsley. In a big game the shortcomings that Danny showed with his selfserving nature might have worked against United in a bad way. Kiko seems to be a traditional holding forward in the vein of Ruud with equally good touch, strength speed and balance.
All in all very excited for the new batch of youngsters.
typical owen goal..reminds me during his dippers days..please mickey give us more of that n we’ll be fine..wonder why he looks like unhappy fella on the pitch till he scored
Obertab is what we are missing in the team. The run which pulls defender to you and create space for others. He is really adapting well. He shows no sign of fear and he seems to have play in the team for a long time.
yeah good win, wellback really impressed me tonight. he looks hungry.
the away fans were great tonight!! (except for the dickheads who wrecked the snackbar)
can anyone tell me what song they were singing for obertan?
michael owen… bloody hell!
welbeck doesn’t lack confidence does he? he needs to be selected more by the gaffer. how much more can he improve just playing reserve team football?
well done lads.i have to say our future looks bright.i love the way oberton plays.hope he scores many goals.welbeck and macheda should play more games.they are young and are improving greatly.one more thing welbeck shouldnt become a winger type player he should be used as a pure forward.he has the ability to score goals so he should be used in that way only.
fergie pls play tosic regularly . i feel sorry for that lad yeah he is too small but that boy has potential.
well done guys.for sure our future looks bright.welbeck and macheda should play more games they are improving with every game.and also welbeck shouldnt play as a winger he should be used as a proper striker.he scores goals consistently and he should play as a striker.
fergie pls play tosic regularly yeah he is small but that boy has got the potential.
sry for posting twice.
I love watching the younger lads and dreaming of them all becoming world class superstars ready to take the universe by storm… but thats not realistic is it? How many will make the grade at united and become regulars? How many established players will we buy in Jan if we go on a poor run and the papers and fake fans start to get in a frizzy about dropping out of the top four…. Then thats just another body in the squad fighting for mins that will soak up any potential these young lads might have, they get frustrated and then seek a move away and we sell for a percentage of what we purchased them for. It sucks, but thems the breaks me thinks…
Great goal from Owen, like everyone’s noticed. Love the way he nutmegged that bouncer dude that defends for Barn. Masterclass..
Does anyone else think the Zoran has dribbling ability reminiscent of Giggsy?
@King Eric yeah he is very good but i still think he is overrated by majority of our fans. He did very well today too but I just dont want any extra pressure/expectation on him.
I think i like Welbeck a little bit more because he is brave at expressing himself. But i love them both, Macheda and Welbeck. I dont dislike any of our players.
Actually there are lot of MU fans out there who think Fergie should call the day. But when i said Fergie’s the one who won the last 3 titles on the trot, plus 2 CL finals, they shut their mouth off lol.
@cantona7
i HAVE TO SAY OBERTAN IS VERY TALENTED AND PEOPLE RATE HIM BUT HE IS NOT RATED THAT HIGHLY ANYWAYS.I MEAN NO ONE IS RATING HIM AS HIGHLY AS NANI OR VALENCIA OR ANDERSON WHEN THEY JOINED UNITED.INFACT HE SHOULD BE A BARGAIN FOR 3 MILLION POUNDS.jUST 20 YEARS.CAN USE BOTH FEET AND HAS BLISTERING PACE.
what a goal by Owen
.Didnt watch da match cz it was late here in kenya…bt i lv wen micky scores,i lv it wen i hear dat macheda did wel cz hes gona be great,i lv obertan n da da silva twins, stil got sympathy 4 foster…bt i lv the kids, they r doin great…bt booking fabio cz of rafael!…ah ah ah,we got 2 lv n enjoy it!
@cantona 7…i dnt undastand thz guys calin 4 fergies’ head…they r bulshit n r nt utd pure fans….only wen sir goes wil they realise his worth…he is the king!!!…absolutely loveable!
Re Gibson:
He was out with an injury last time the Irish squad was announced and hasn’t featured for the reserves since. He’s not listed as injured anywhere I can see but I don’t think he’s been pushed down the pecking order.
No mentions of how solid Johnny Evans was at the back for us – on current form he has the edge over Rio for me. Wes Brown is a monster as well. Nev i´m sad to say has had his day, he hasn´t got the pace anymore. Owens goal was excellent and Anderson bossed the midfield. They should both get a start at the weekend.
Owen is a class-player, aged 29, and how anyone can think he is over the hill is way off the mark. That goal-take last night was so typical of him. He has done it so many times for England against superior opposition. He’s had some injuries, then played in a donkey-team at Newcastle (once Shearer retired)…yet there, his goals/game ratio was still high.
Come on Fergie, give him some more starts and the opportunity to get more goals and build his confidence again. Berbatov is a good player, but he doesn’t look like scoring regularly. Owen will get goals – and even more, when the midfield players realise how he plays best (like Giggs did v Man City). Alongside Rooney – its exciting stuff.
Welbeck showed promise but his positional play was not great and he got in Owen’s way on two occasions at least.
Enjoyed the game last night. I cant understand why people only talk about Arsenal’s youth. I believe ours is as good if not better. The twins are awesome, Welbeck and Macheda are legends in the making Anderson is just getting better and better and we have so many more who are not even getting the chance.
With respect to the game, I was pleased with Ando and Owen. A class apart. GABO seems to be the real deal. He provides something that we badly need in our team : UNPREDICTABILITY. You dont know what the boy is going to do next and I believe he’s got what it needs to be in the first team obviously with some development.
Ando should have played on Sunday and Owen is simply CLASS. And finally I know why Fergie said he will need to consider Welbeck for the World Cup. He’s already got a good record. he just needs to mature a bit.
Red Devilled Egg – Are you even a United fan ? Some of your views on here are baffling to say the least. Macheda looks Rooney look like a chump? Behave yourself son.
*makes*
Cantona7 – A lot of fans want Fergie to call it a day? They ain’t fans mate they are plastic glory seeking cunts. Disgraceful .
I thought there were so many good things last night I could forget the defensive frailties at times. I’m a big fan of Welbeck, and thought he was terrific, although yes, it’s true he sometimes sloppily lost possesion . His skill, energy and movement and courage on the ball are all very encouraging, and for God’s sake, he’s only 18. Macheda was quieter as some have said, but he looks a serious player. I was also delighted with Oberton (until he tired), although he does have a touch of the Nosferatu the Vampire about him.Let’s hope he feeds off Scousers. Tosic also looks stronger and bigger, less easy to knock off the ball. His curling shot was very tasty. I’d like to see all of them get more chances. Ben Foster seems to be gradually re-building his career, although he still seems to dither when the ball is at his feet, even when under no pressure.Just when I thought Gary Neville was maybe capable of getting more games all his limitations were there to be seen, culminating in his Mr Angry tackle. Red card was inevitable ‘in the current climate’. Yes, we all know what that means, but it was still a bloody stupid follow-through.Even on TV the away support was magnificent. But why the hell did some nutters have to trash the refreshment bar? What’s that about? Horrible stuff, no justification at all. Spoiled an otherwise good night. Kick ‘em out. Terrorising young women bar-staff is just NOT United.
Tried watching the game online but the streaming was rubbish. Highlights don’t show much from Obertan but all accounts seem to imply he had a decent game. Anyone at the game want to expand any more?
On Evans & Brown being solid at the back; they didn’t look great in the highlights, Barnsley had countless clear-cut chances that would have been buried by superior opposition. Highlights can be very misleading though and I think they both deserve a chance at the first team spots.
my point few days ago is proven.. Owen definitely deserves to start more often than Berbatov… yes, Berba is class but we have to be fair to Owen too, he’s a fantastic and a class player too, he has been performing very well. he needs to play more. Berba really needs to find a way to fit into this team… im not saying this just bcoz Owen scored yesterday, im a big fan of Owen and never really fancy Berba from the moment he joined us… coz he hasnt been performing well.
@Emmanu Daktari
I really had to make an effort to understand some parts of what you said.
red_boy, Berbatov plays best when he is partnered with Owen. Fergie should take Rooney off instead of Berbatov when Owen is coming on as a substitute, only if we’re already wining. Owen doesn’t keep moving into different positions, as Rooney does, so it’s easier for Berbatov to have poaching Owen playing just infront of him. How can you say Berbatov hasn’t been performing well? Remember that bicycle-kick goal against sunderland a few weeks ago? He hasn’t been scoring much but his performances have been immense.
yeah Berbatov has been our best performer so far this season. I second Fze123, SAF should take Rooney off instead! Again like Fze123 said, because Rooney has not realised that a centre forward means you have to stay centre and front 90% of the time. I said it before just after Owen joined us, Rooney can learn something from Owen, and this is one of the thing he needs to learn. And he can learn that by watching Owen from outside.
We really need Rooney to be the best, it’s really painful watching Torres better than Rooney.
cantona7
rooney earlier in the season was on fire and was way up to speed than torres he will be back. rooney is our steven gerrard and our best attacker thats why he will never be taken off. well if rooney had a proper striker that will get in behind defences we would see the best of him, look at rooney when he had saha along side him he has looked far better. its such a shame torres did not arrive in 2007 instead of the average tevez who we wasted a entire summer getting him. imagine they woulds till be our front two now instead of choping and changing rooneys patner.
@Cantona7: Are you bloody serious?! Berbatov our best player this season? That bloke hinders our team rather then improves it. He wouldn’t be a loss if we just terminated his contract. He cant our run anyone, he can’t out muscle anyone, he has no fighting spirit, he doesn’t score, he’s useless in the air for someone over 6 foot, all in all he’s just an embarassing waste of money.
Ryan Giggs and has been heads and shoulders our best player this season. Bloody Berbatov?!!! ha! What a joke!
Gary
some parts I agree with and I agree berbatov has been a waste of money, he just is not the right fit for united and I will say again he seems so veron like where its just hot and cold. long term I dont see berbatov at this club.
Theres only one Keano: He blows more cold rather than hot though. I would support the bloke even though he has limited ability (that being able to control a football, which is all he can do) but he is lazy. It’s not a clichy that he’s lazy, it’s a fact! As FSW would say.
Gary
he does not have limited ability that aplys to carlos tevez berbatov has many qualitys he brings to the party but not enough qualitys to be a top class striker. berbatov can also keep the ball bring others into play and create chances like a play maker, but what he lacks is the dynamic threat in the final thrid to score that 25 goals a season and cause defences nightmares that ronaldo etoo torres do a lot because of the mobility pace strength and power which is the reason why defences have to keep on their toes. if I was a defender I would rather play against berbatov than someone like torres or etoo.
OWEN GETS NUMBER 2
