    6Ws on the bounce? Right!
Welbeck’s poacher the difference? Can’t do the lads confidence any harm. Get in!

Rooney, Robin, Nani, Jones, Rafael, Rio, Valencia all rested? Very good with Spurs round the corner and a long slog coming up.

Minutes for Carrick & Fletcher! Excellent news.

Moyes lucky? Perhaps, but needed to rest some lads and Valencia suspended. Spot on or just enough, really doesn’t matter. A win away is a top result.

Fans need perspective. We lost this fixture last year and Norwich away has been a bit of a boggy for us.

All in all, exactly what was needed.

Bring on Spurs, bring on the new year.

Happy new year to all you reds. Stay positive.

The boy who’s been labelled by loads as a donkey who can’t finish to save his life, who’s assessed by these same idiots to be not United class, has scored again!! Hands up all you idiots!!

  3. Fletch™ says:

Right, and another clean sheet! Top confidence booster for the defense. Bit lucky? Naaaaaaa ;)

  4. Hammed Abiola F says:

    stupid playyyyy, just lucky

  5. Fletch™ says:

Crikey, Moyes says Rooney out with Groin injury.

Hoping it’s a roose and the lad was home with the family.

  6. Fletch™ says:

    Injury Update:

    NEW:
    Rooney (groin):

    Continuing:
Jones (knee) Rafael (groin) Nani (Ham String) Fellaini (back)

    Training:
    RvP

  7. UnitedFaithful says:

Good win considering half the squad is out injured, another rotation headache for Moyes as Welbeck has found his scoring boots, chuffed for the lad,he along side Januzaj are the type of players that we need right now, perfect balance of guile and graft.

    Our injury jinx continues

  9. united till i die says:

Just because wellbeck scores a couple of goals doesn’t erase his below par performances in front if goal for the last 18 months. He’s still going to be 3rd choice striker when everyone is fit. He needs to score regularly if he wants to be a starter on this team. He’s taken his chance well over the last 3-4 weeks but he has to do it for a entire season just like every other striker. As for Hernandez to me he’s so one dimensional it’s embarrassing at times.

  10. UnitedFaithful says:

‘Ideally we’d have given him 2 or 3 weeks to recover completely. But he has been so influential for the team’ Moyes on Rooney

So he will start against spurs I take it.Hope the gamble pays off

At least Welbeck is now the 3rd choice,a couple of months ago fans were wanting him to be sold :-D

  11. Fletch™ says:

Moyes: “I would expect Rooney to be back for Wednesday hopefully, he’s got an adductor injury in his groin.”

    via BBC.

Sounds like Rooney spent Boxing day in the punch bowl again ;)

Got to love our Roo.

  12. UnitedFaithful says:

Speaking to MUTV after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Carrow Road, the boss said: “I am hopeful and I think he will be fit for New Years’ Day. I just need to wait and see.

“He has got the same injury that kept him out at Stoke. It is an abductor injury to his groin, it is not serious but ideally we could have given him a couple of weeks or three to recover completely. But he has been so influential for the team and we want to get him back playing.

  13. UnitedFaithful says:

If Welbeck is considered our third choice striker he is progressing well,it will take time for him to reach the heights of Roo and RVP but he will be pretty pleased with the form he has shown in the last couple of games.Feel for Chicha but but his chances of starting games week in week out looks slim at least for now.He just gonna have to make do with sub appearances.

  14. Sparkz says:

This has always been a tough game for us. Lost last year, scraped a win the season before. And with so many players out, and having played 2 days earlier, this was always gonna be tight. Chuffed with the 3 points – hopefully results go our way tomorrow.

Think Moyes started with the wrong lineup/system. Hernandez can’t lead the line at all. He needs a partner (which doesn’t bode well for his future, if we’re serious about ditching the 4-4-2) and we looked much better when there was another body up there with him. However to be fair to Moyes he had no other option – Rooney and RVP injured and Danny needed a rest ahead of the Spurs game.

Evra and Cleverley looked tanked, absolutely shot to pieces. I think we’ll see Fletch start alongside Carrick on Wednesday, and possibly (but unlikely) Fabio/Buttner in place of Evra. Would be a risk though.

Welbeck obviously changed the game with his speed, dribbling and goal. But Vidic was a beast at set pieces, De Gea was excellent and Smalling had a great game. Obviously he’s not great going forward but defensively he was spot on, especially as Redmond is a proper little livewire.

  15. ThymmEde says:

Vidic is still our best defender, kudos to smalling. Welbeck is is now ready to bear responsibility, very important for his development. We need Midfielders. at least two. Moyes has my support

  16. FBr David Lee says:

Danny of Longsight just rams his way to goal. Onwards and Upwards!

  17. yugo44 says:

Good win but we need to make use of d january window

  18. Tommy says:

Great composed finish from Welbeck, hope he keeps it up, I would echo the chico sentiments he needs a partner up thei or at least quick players to join him in attack, he was always going to struggle yesterday!
