  2. Adeez says:

    nice goal

  3. evisu says:

Ibra + Berba strike partnership, oh man that would’ve been something!

  4. WeAreUnited says:

BTW Scott, Henriquez scored his first goal for Chile, could you put that one here too.

  5. WeAreUnited says:

Hart the Shitty boy like to concede those kind of goals.

Let us remember the goal, that is the goal of all time in EPL

    Falcao going to Chelsea

    Suarez going to City

    I say bring it on~!

  7. denton davey says:

I had to watch this twice – Ashley Young drove to the bye-line and THEN crossed the ball with his left foot. He never seems to do that in the red shirt.

  8. Marq says:

    @denton

Yea, this was one of his trademarks when he was at Villa, not sure why he is not doing it with us

  9. samuel - united WE stand says:

Denton – probably because he knew he had the beaten of the right back but i agree, he rarely ever beats a man in a united shirt which is disappointing for a winger. Needs to mix his game up and be more unpredictable. united spent 18mill and i think he’s yet to step up and at his stage, which is pretty much his peak, we need to see him.kick.on or players will take his place.

As for demanding scott to put up ibra’s goal. I don’t think so, this is a united orientated blog. Fans can marvel at other stars performances but the author doesn’t have to dedicate nothing.

Good finish from welbeck. He was superb throughout. Leading the line, holding up play, galloping forward with great pace, doing imaginative flicks to team mates. He looked confident as ever which is encouraging, considering the battle he has on his hands to get into the united team.

  10. AntiScouser says:

    @Marq

I’ll tell you why he’s not doing it. Big club-small player-syndrome. You can take A.Young out of Aston Villa, but you cannot take Aston Villa out of A.Young,

As for your question from one of the previous threads (who are the better wingers in the country?), you are presumably (and correct me if I’m wrong) toying with the idea that there are no English wingers who are better than A.Young (because there are undoubtedly better foreign ones, most notably in our club). Right? Ok, here’s my list of English wingers who are better than Young:
    -Walcott
    -A.Johnson
    -Sterling
    -Lennon
    -Ox

I can’t understand why we bought this limited player who had such an unreasonably high price. Sure, he’s gonna score a few, he’s gonna put in a few good crosses after months of trying, but when push comes to shove, he’s gonna be that player who played the Italy-England game this summer – playing on a level beyond his capacity which rendered him invisible on the field (literally), and chickening out and missing an ever important shot.

  11. Marq says:

That is a joke of a list

  12. Capitano says:

Walcott, Ox, Lennon????! “oh please! I would have young anyday over them!”

  13. FletchTHEMAN says:

Morning reds. Danny and Cleverley were class. Sweden only started to role after Cleverley got subbed.
Woy on Sky trying to pick the pieces out of complete humiliation

Gerrards 100th cap  Who was marking Ibra?
Greatest Keeper on the planet Joe Hart, ermm ditto.

  14. FletchTHEMAN says:

So Hart is in goal for Rooneys Goal of the Decade,

Now Hart is in goal for Ibrahimovic’s International goal of the year.

Greatest Keeper In The World. Joe Hart.

  15. Gandalf says:

@AntiScouser – young isn’t world class, but he is definitely better than the players you have listed. Seriously, sterling? come on man, the lad hasn’t even had a proper season yet. Give it three years at least and then judge him.
Ox and walcott are so over rated – I think Ox may become a good player for arsenal, that’s about it.
Lennon is so inconsistent – he has so many games for spurs where he is very average. Because he plays for spurs such form is deemed ok.
United player’s form is expected to be high every game – hence the criticism otherwise from us fans and the scribes. Lennon and walcott are not united material and johnson, sterling and ox shouldn’t even be there on the list.
Last season young scored two absolutely marvellous goals and even in the dreadful game against villa last week, he did his defensive duties well. He is just back from injury and I think 3-4 games will sort him out. He is a good addition to our squad IMO.

  16. Costas says:

Good goal. Both Young and Welbeck needed that.

  17. Costas says:

    @Gandalf

With that being such a fair, balanced and impartial list, I was surprised Stewart Downing wasn’t in it…

  18. Gandalf says:

@costas – LOL. yeah, charlie adam too, the lad has a great left foot you know :-)
scouse midfielders and wingers are sooooo good!

  19. redcitation says:

Thought Wellbeck did well. England missed Rooney. Hart is overrated. He makes too many mistakes as shown in this video – https://vimeo.com/53326741

  20. Costas says:

    @Gandalf

    Don’t give him ideas, lol.

  21. TheCANTONA says:

    AuntieScouser:
u need to fix your head if u think players on that list are better than Young.

  22. Jay says:

Welbeck seems more at ease scoring for England than he does for Manchester United, I hope he doesn’t become one those players that play better for country than their club.

  23. United Till I Die says:

Right, so one poxy overhead kick into an open net and suddenly Ibra has scored “the best goal ever”? Whatever helps you lot sleep at night haha. I guess England has to console/delude itself somehow, but for what its worth any half decent Striker would have got that shot on target. I’d be disappointed if any of our strikers couldn’t get that shot on target. I mean, it was a wide open goal ffs, even Carroll nearly scored a better overhead the other day and the keeper was on his line. I don’t see the big deal with one player putting 4 past England, half the strikers in our league could return to their nations and do the same thing anyway.

Greatest goal ever, what a load of bollocks. How about admitting the Keeper had a complete nightmare and Sweden were the better team. Same old England always lying.

As for Welbeck, thats probably the most responsibility I’ve seen him have for England. He was class for the full 90 and fully deserved his goal. Great experience for him.

  24. AntiScouser says:

Sorry, you’re right. I was completelay off. Young is Messi in the making.

  25. WeAreUnited says:

United Till I Die`, you know your my mate here and I tend to agree in many points with you, so don’t take it personally :D but,

Gotta say that you are now in the woods at this, you say half a decent striker would have scored that.

First of all, he scored 4 goals, whatever the importance of the game is, that’s not easy, when you play for a small team like Sweden, every goal was a master-piece, from the first-one, how he poked it. You know how hard it is, when you have played football.

Secondly, that overhead-kick, well no-one besides the greatest players would ever think doing that. A half decent striker, would have take it down and tried to score from the ground. Never to do a taekwondo overhead kick. NEVER. Shitty-hart made a mistake yes, but it’s not like Ibrakadabra asked him to make that mistake. Have you seen Ibras other goals that are in this scale? The karate-kick in the euros? against Italy and the other one in the recent Euros?

Don’t compare Carroll with Ibradakabra, in any case, is it a open goal or a penalty, a friendly game or a playstation3 game, it’s like comparing ManUtd with an Scottish third division team who is relegating from the 3rd division and going bankrupt.

It is one of the greatest goals ever, In the sense of the goal you can compare it with Waynes goal, and Waynes goal against shitty was of course a more important game and in that way Wayne’s goal wins it. Obviously But to say, that it isn’t one of the greatest is bollock mate!. In the case of importance, it’s 2/10, In case of the greatness f the goals 11/10.

A goal like that, deserves a recognition from every country and football fan. Why not admire the goal and admit that it is one of the greatest goals, instead of saying that a half-decent striker would score it. PEACE mate ;D

  26. WeAreUnited says:

As for this : As for Welbeck, thats probably the most responsibility I’ve seen him have for England. He was class for the full 90 and fully deserved his goal. Great experience for him.

Absolutely correvt, let’s all remember that Welbz plays at this moment in a different role for us, compared for England.

  27. Marq says:

    AntiScouser

I have nothing against you, but you need to appreciate things abit more. It is always easier to find fault with your own while drooling at others. I am pretty sure nobody here will agree on your list, if you can find anyone who even agrees to half your list, let us know.

For that matter, nobody here ever said that Young is a world beater, you made up that story for yourself, for reasons only you know, and you anger yourself with that story you yourself created. I don’t know what is in your head mate, but let it go.

In fact, the ironic thing is that maybe deep down inside, you rate Young higher than most of us do, that is why you are so disappointed when he doesn’t deliver, while for the rest of us, his simple contributions of crosses, assists, goals and even tracking back, however limited, are appreciated

    Peace out

  28. King Eric says:

Yeah Zlatan will go another 6 months playing like he is Billy Big Balls. Still not having him. Idol cunt BUT last night he was unplayable. Well done toff cunt Hart again. Dogshit but swept under carpet as usual.

  29. King Eric says:

Ha Ha Ha. Fag cunt Walcott, Lennon, Chamberlain , Johnson all better than Young? Yeah Ok pal. Yet more drivel from the scouser!!

  30. King Eric says:

Marq – AntiScouser never has anything positive to say mate.

United Till I Die – Hey up Paul Parker. How’s tricks? !!!

  31. TheCANTONA says:

Auntie is a WUM, see his pathetic reply @ 16:46 convince me he’s nothing but a WUM. best to ignore him…

  32. United Till I Die says:

@King Eric – Alright mate? All good can’t complain. Nice to read (the other day) that everything’s going well, time sure does fly, bloody hell! Take it easy pal.

@We are United – Im just not a fan of Ibram mate, and im normally objective when it comes to non United players so its nothing against him. He is a handful when he performs, but the title “world class” gets thrown about a bit too often in my opinion. For example nobody on earth can deny Ruud or Ronaldo 9 were world class strikers, but the jury is still out for many people with Ibram because truth be told he ain’t on their level. At least not in my opinion.

Gotta disagree about Sweden being a small team as well mate, they may not be France, Italy or Spain but they do play better football than England on a regular basis – regardless of who dons the 3 lions and who manages them. In fact every single time I’ve seen Sweden play England they’ve always performed better and deserved the result. Then again, perhaps you’re right. Maybe they are a small team and Woy’s men are simply microscopic?! Either way, they outplay England regularly imo.

  33. WeAreUnited says:

    @UTID

In the scale of those teams you mentioned, and brazil, argentina, portugal, germany, holland.
Sweden are a small team, they just have the right mentality that gets them always to the euros. And the big help comes from Zlatan.

You don’t have to be a fan of a player, to recognise that a player is a world-class beater. I never liked Raul, don’t know why, when he played, I just didn’t like him. but I knew that he is a world class striker and player even though I wasn’t a fan. When he scored crazy goals, I admitted him being a superstar.

Who is the jury? English media?
    Don’t look at his attitude.
Ruud had attitude, look how he left this club, Cantona had attitude, got red cards and attacked a fan, Zidane had attitude, look his early career and how his career ended. Ronaldo7 has attitude, just unlucky that Messi is at the same time and is a fairplay player. Even our new star RVP has attitude.
The common thing they have is their attitude and that they all will go down as one of the best players to play in this planet,
You can’t deny a guy that takes his Swedish team always into euros and world cups, and wins 8 titles in a row and manages to score in every second game a goal and every third game goals that we score in our dreams, you can’t deny that he is a world-class player.

To compare him with Ruud and Ronaldo, well one could argue that he is on their level, and one could say the other, so I’ll leave it with that. For me, Filippo Inzaghi was a world-class striker and some say, he played “only” in Italy and has “no” technique, like for our Chicharito, but they have that extra thing that separates them from the Carrolls and Zamoras and Gilardinos.
Zlatan does that, he scores goals, he wins you games, trophies, he produces goals to remember, he has won it in Holland, Italy, Spain and soon in France. That says it all.

As for England, well for me, they have always been mediocore, their best chance was when they had becks, scholes, shearer, owen etc.
Now they don’t have a chance unless United produce more players for them like Barcelona does for Spain.

    peace mate!

  34. WeAreUnited says:

i want to add one thing also, if Ibrahimovic would have decided to come and play for us, we would be happy and in awe, and when he would have played and scored these kind of goals, we would be saying these things, what the rest of the world besides England says about him.

    no hard feelings UTID :P

  35. United Till I Die says:

@WeAreUnited – course no hard feelings mate its a blog. Still not buying Ibra tho haha. He had one season with Barca and scored 13 goals, the rest of his career was in Italy or Holland. I doubt if he would’ve hacked our league tbh. Its nothing personal, bar Balotelli how many strikers arrive from Serie A and win EPL titles? I can’t think of any?

I trust you know RVP and Rooney both have better goal to game ratios than Ibra, and thats in England playing consistently with one club. They’ll both end the careers with better stats too, hence why I don’t see the song and dance about Zlatan or that goal.

Just compare him in Europe (33 goals in 98 games) to Drogba (45 in 85) and its hard to see whats so groundbreaking. Rudd scored 62 in 88 games in Europe, and 38 of those goals were in 47 games for United. We’d be making a mockery of the term world class by also using it to describe Ibramovic. They ain’t on the same level mate, the only thing they’ve got in common is they’ve both failed to win the CL, and thats only an injustice in Ruud’s case to be honest.

Just my opinion, but if we signed him back in the day I would’ve called it a big gamble by the manager. As crazy as Cantona was at least he was tried and tested in England before we signed him. Signing Ibra for a fortune would’ve been disappointing, as I would’ve wondered why the hell we hadn’t signed Eto instead – a player with a superior goal rate, a bigger medal haul and a better attitude. He’s has won everything, scorrf 130 in 200 games in 5 years at Barca, scored better than 1 goal every 2 games in Italy, and scored 42 goals in 92 games in Europe while winning 2 CLs.

Ibramovic isn’t anything special in my opinion mate, far from it. At best (imo) he’s a half decent striker and world class on his day, but he’s only done it in Italy, and he’s never done it season after season (after season) at one club.

We agree to disagree on this one mate!

  36. WeAreUnited says:

    33 in 98 isn’t that bad my friend ;D

haha, okey bro, no problem. l :P this can go all day long, so let’s leave it to agree do disagree on this one.

And as for Etoo, his 42 in 92 is close to Ibras haha ;D well I admit Etoo DEFINITELY is one of my favourite strikers of all time, If we would have get him instead of Berba, we would be talking about history. don’t get it how he didn’t go anywhere else after Inter.

My favourite strikers, can’t say for those who haven’t seen playing. Ronaldo9 is number one the rest are not in order.
Ronaldo9, Yorke & Cole, Etoo, Suker, Inzaghi, Crespo, Vieri, Ruud, Morientes,Messi, Ibra, Ronaldo7, Raul, Bastistuta, etc .

Anyway, I always respect your opinion mate!

Can’t wait for tomorrows analysis haha :P
