17-year-old forward, Will Keane, scored the only goal of the game in our Reserves’ 1-0 victory over Stockport Reserves. Will, who is from Stockport, also has a twin brother in the team, who plays in defence.
Er, Keano, there’s only one Keano!

Oh, well taken goal by the young man.
I think pretty soon we will get a “Is this the day for Will Keane?” thread!
‘And bang!’ says Paddy, then he says it again, ‘And bang!’. Just about sums it up. Lovely goal.
Cracking goal by the kid and a great surname.
Was this the match Hargo was meant to play in or did I hear that was Thursday??
Cheer’s mate I got MUTV also. lol and it was a classic finish
He has a twin brother? The Da Silvas and now the Keanes? Are twins United’s new youth policy?
Not only do we have the Da Silva twins and the Keane twins but also the Brown brothers and the Evans brothers.
If those were reserves he was playing against then he’s freaking massive. but i dont think its a reserve game, as i dont think stockport play in the same reserve league…
It was from the “Manchester Senior Cup” -and was a reserve game -tho W Keane plays mainly for the youth team atm. Reminds me of a Clough-era Forest or Derby type striker -kind of “polished”.
@Fred – wow! that’s true (and we had the Neville’s)
And we had the “Two Andy Gorams”.
I watched it live this game and it was stunning goal! Keep it up young Keano
Dave Mack – Thursday mate for Owen Hargreaves.
This kid knows where the net is. Been a goal machine in his first season.
Good hit lad. And hell, if he bags a hat trick next time out maybe we can have a Kiko the sequel!!
Yesterday was a pre match I’d like to be I’m the dressing room for. United were bad and should have whipped that team . Possebon=very good and am I wrong in saying why hasn’t brandy got some sort of a first team call up. I understand loans and injuries but he’s back he’s united born and bred at least stick him on the bench. Oh a Cory Evans is a playmaker
Great goal
I’ve seen him a few times for the youth team and he looks a talent so does King and Kiko and Welbeck
future looking good in terms of one day having a homegrown striker
Will Keane is class! Any of you who watch the academy will know this but for those who don’t he is a great talent. He has an exquisite touch, great finishing, he is tall and strong for his age and I think (although I might get some stick) he is the most likely of King, Macheda and Welbeck to make it as a centre forward at united.
He reminds me so much of Teddy Sheringham but with pace. The way he scores goals (11 in 18 this year) and also brings overs into play. I would love to see him pushing for the first team next season.
Keano’s f***in magic, he wears a magic hat!
DB
gotta agree with you regardless of him making it out here.
i mean he has a great chance though kiko has it also one thing keano may have an advantage is that, no matter how good kiko may be,his future will always be in doubt and that’s not something new to us we already had lazio speculation in the tabloids.futhermore he will be temptead to play at home since he left at a young age.
welbeck case is a different one since fergi is still figuring out whether he’s a winger or a centre forward something that’s affecting his development.so will stands a great chance of featuring more for us.by the way what a finish
don’t forget the djemba twins
off topic but those at old trafford will have to know that the in black will be none other than massimo busacca and apparentley, he doesn’t take abuse so lightly.

sorry for that
Also the Owens
DB – Spot on mate. I said EXACTLY the same thing last night, he has the intelligence of a young Teddy. Great finisher. Has come from nowhere really and he could well be the one who makes it.
LOL on the comment “twins our new policy”. I enjoyed that
A good ball through to him by Rooney.
Rooney really does love to play in everything. lol.
i believe the #16 was given to him for a reason. BELIEVE IN DESTINY!!
@ RCWIS, hahahahaha.
Very nicely taken goal. We are blessed with the amount of talents at Utd; I always try to watch the reserves as much as I can; although work commitments always seem to get in the way. Brandy and Possebon especially are exciting talents and I hope they make it into the first team in the next few years. Would love to see Hargo play against City in the reserves on thursday. That will be a big step forward in his recovery and good news for us.
Fze123 – It certainly will be fantastic to see Hargreaves play on Thursday . What a game to come into as well. A Manchester derby.
Norwood, a legend in the making!
two nights, two games, both important but for two completely different reasons!
DB – Mate totally agree have been saying for a while that Keane looks a bit like Shearingham. At the start of the season when he just came into the youth team he didn’t pull up any trees. Looked average at best. But he has come on leaps and bounds. If you get the chance look for his goal against the little scum youth team at looserpool. It was pure utter class.
Couple years back in the youth team/reserves we were blessed with a lot of very good central defenders – Evans, Shawcross & Pique. Had average midfielders and not great forwards. Now it is the complete opposite great prospects in Midfield – Ravel Morrison, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, Norwood Evans and forwards we have Macheda, Petrucci, King, Wellbeck, Keane.
I love watchingthe youth team and reserves – seeing the younger players coming through.
