VIDEOS: Class of 1999 vs Class of 2013 – Part 2

Following up from last month’s video (which compared the ‘telepathic’ understanding between the 1999 and 2013 United strikers), we have two more videos for you from the same line-up.

First, it’s the outtakes from the video you saw last month, featuring a lot more ‘off-air’ comments and some hilarious misses.

Second, we have Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke discussing their strike partnership during their time at Manchester United and what it takes for strikers to be successful at the very top level.

  1. Hans says:

I think Class of 99 was better. In those good old days, even if lost a match we were left with no regretts as we gave a good go. This season, quite often, even when we won, our performances were not satisfying!

  2. RedLion says:

To be fair, in that year, players that were in good form and actually scoring got the playing time they deserved. Just ask Chicharito.

  3. James7t7 says:

Class of 99 was in a different league. Every position was in general stronger. No comparisson in my opinion and there has been much better teams to compare with 99 such as 08 and 94.

This team is doing what it needs to do in a much weaker lg but has a long way to go in my opinion.

But regardless of the team they are Man Utd and thats all that matters.

@Hans…Bang on mate. Exactly how i’ve felt this and to be fair the last few seasons. There is no doubt we are in a very privileged position to whine given where we are again but it’s only in the long term interest of the club to call a spade a spade. i’m tired of us going into a big match and playing like a small team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. we should make everyone else quiver and fear us, we could have easily own the Real Madrid tie on both legs if we gave it a real go, we had the measure of them easy. People don’t fear us, they respect us. They need to fear us, we have it in this squad and in every squad we have had. Buck stops with SAF sadly, he may be a master of creating good hardworking grounded players playing for the club but it needs to go more than that, tactically he has been poor consistently in my opinion.
This season is ours no doubt about it but i feel no great joy or excitement at that thought :P
