I still think he may leave in the summer, even if he does not we need to get a defender in the transfer window. I really dont see Rio getting back to his old form again(would love to be proved wrong).Hope we also get the Akineev as a keeper.
But more than any new transfers what will help us to win is how the combination of rooney, berba, owen…valencia, obertan, park…fletcher, anderson, giggsy, scholes…play for the next 25 odd games.

Cathcart and Chester are good, but they are nowhere near Vida’s level. He is one of the best defenders, if not the best, in Europe.

In my opinion, 3 of the best centre backs in Europe are all at United. The only one that is better than Evans other than Rio and Vida is Metzelder.

Well Rooney is the ONLY player in our current squad i wouldnt sell at any price. well of course nobody would sell the legends Giggs, Scholes and Gary too.
Vida, as much as i love him, and i love him more than Ronnie, but Vida is not an Englishman, so i dont think we would be able to hold on to him till he retires.

On Cathcart, my Watford mole, aka ‘Groundhog’, tells me he’s clearly got great potential but he’s still very raw, especially in his positioning. He’s some way behind Cleverly in development.

I think that Tevez wants to go back to Boca Juniors in a couple of years and will make sure City have to sell him at a low fee. Agree with Giles Oakley, Vidic is not going anywhere so why is everyone asking ‘what would you take for him’. I wouldn’t take any player in the world for Vidic, he is the rock of our defence when fit and is as vital to us as Rooney is. Plus we we have a fantastic team, we don’t even need to buy anyone in jan as we have Lijajic and Mame Biram Diouf coming, and Hargo is close to full fitness. I hope Vidic stays for at least 2/3 years when the young defenders i.e Cathcart, De Laet, C.Evans are fullly developed and are ready to hopefully play in the first team.

people are entitled to their opinions, but vidic is a beast, and when healthy rio-vidic forms the best central defending partnership we’ve had since pally and bruce. these guys have been fairly off form this season to be fair, but let’s see how they do when they have time to heal up.

yeah watched most of the match.both wes and ben did well today but unfortunately for brown all the write ups in the gutter press will be his one lapse of concentration that let brazil score albeit a well crafted/taken goal.

I’ll be completely honest, I thought Brown was rubbish tonight. Just my honest opinion, I know he’s been out for a long time and just coming back, but that Nilmar guy had him running around like a mad chicken. Was a poor game overall from both teams.

Yep, Nani was on the right, and he had a good game. He looked far more comfortable than he has for us on the left. His movement gave Bosnia’s defence something to think about, even if there was slight reminders of the wingers that frustrates for us.

Honestly, after tonight’s showing, I wouldn’t hesitate to give him time there for us. Even with Valencia’s presence, it’s definitely worth a shot.

Agree with Bebeto, I would like to see how he plays on the right wing, even though Valencia has done enough to cement his place there. Maybe Fergie should try start him on the right in a carling cup game.
