Patrick Vieira was interviewed by SportingIntelligence.com and asked which players would make his best XI from all the years he’s played in England.
Remarkably, Vieira’s team, which he couldn’t restrict to just eleven players, was filled with Manchester United players, some Arsenal players, and nobody from his current club, Manchester City.
“I would pick out Giggs, Scholes and Keane from United,” he said. “It would be hard to restrict it to only 11 players. Steven Gerrard would be in my team. I would go with Thierry for sure, Henry. And I like Andy Cole. I like Dwight Yorke. Bergkamp. Alan Shearer. David Seamen. Stam. And Martin Keown.”

Man Utd News 24/7

remember mr ambitious didnt pick too many united team-mates as well when selecting his best 11. wouldnt read too much into it. *yawn*
United vs City!!! Semis
Thanks for that loose ball that lead to the greatest FA Cup goal of all time, you lanky streak of piss.
huzi – Be great if it was Reading mate!
The incentive is there to play our strongest team, regardless of possible European Semis.
Wow to think that he’d actually pick up Keane. Well at least he’s man enough to acknowledge his arch nemesis was one hell of a player
Just because he’s playing for City doesn’t mean that he is deluded. On the contrary, he obviously has a calculating mind tand that’s why he is getting paid so well.
easy semi final draw, im sure city fans will moan about how utd always gets the easy draw…final, here we come.
Keown over Schmeichel? Strange.
Yorke Cole Shearer
Bergkamp Henry
Giggs Gerrard
Scholes Keane
Stam Keown
Seamen
ah, the oft-used 2-4-4 formation.
Regardless who he’s played for
Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Stam and Andy Cole HAD to feature in his best XI.
Nice to see some honesty!
Viera disrespects SportingIntelligence.com, waffling the names of legends from his time instead of considering the question and suggesting or selecting a team. This is an indication of his current condition, floating aimlessly away.
Ah, the rarely used 2-4-5 -formation.
