Welbz: I’m happy Van Gaal got the job

Towards the end of last season there were rumours linking Danny Welbeck with a move away from the club. The lad from Longsight has been at the club since he was a kid and there’s no questioning his love for United, but with David Moyes as the manager, he was reportedly keen to leave.

However, with Moyes gone and Louis van Gaal in his place, Welbeck’s happiness has returned.

“I heard the news (about Van Gaal’s appointment) and I am happy,” said Welbeck. “He is a great man, a great manager. Looking at his CV tells you he has managed at some big clubs.”

Welbeck is currently with the England squad in preparation for the World Cup and he’s looking forward to his chance to show people what he can do.

“You have to keep your feet on the ground, remain focused and just make sure you play your usual game,” he said. “I just want to prove myself – to me and to the World to show everyone what I can do. Going into the World Cup is a massive stage to do that and I can’t wait.”

Good lad Welbz, hope he can improve his composure somewhat, always rated him due to the pace and power he has, defo worth having in the squad although i doubt if he will be a regular starter

another loan spell will do him a lot of good, if you ask me. don’t think he’ll ever jell in united. nice lad, yes…united material, no.

  3. Sparkz says:

Disagree, think he has HUGE potential. Defo needs to improve his composure in front of goal, but his all round game (hold up, link up, ability to beat a man, movement off the ball and work rate) – is one of the best out of all the strikers in the League.

Finally got this damn thing working through twitter. Just didn’t know how to do it. Couldn’t get it to work through the app.

Anyways I was previously on here as Mobi and before that scholes 18.

Now as far as welbz goes I think he should stay for at least two years..if he’s finishing has improved by then..brilliant if not then move him on. All things taken into consideration.. If we got rid of our strikers..#1 for me would be Rooney followed by chicha. Still 1 will deffo leave this summer and I have a feeling it will be chicha.

Huge potential? That has to be a wind up. He’s a laughingstock with opposition supporters but he’s in the team because he’s from Longsight ffs!
Good enough for England maybe, good enough for United.. Definitely not.
