Manchester United won the Premier Reserve League North champions last night after title challengers Liverpool lost to Everton.
United were in a great position after beating Liverpool last week thanks to a brilliant goal from Gabriel Obertan.
This is the first time the Reserves have won the league in four years. Solskjaer has won both the Manchester Senior Cup and Lancashire Senior Cup for the past two years. They play the final Manchester Senior Cup group game against City this week for a chance to win it for a third consecutive year.
It is important to remember that this has been achieved with the likes of Tom Cleverley, Danny Drinkwater and Sam Hewson, who are all out on loan.
Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the team and coaches for their success.
“I’d like to say congratulations to Ole and Warren,” said Ferguson. “They’ve done a great job. henever we’ve appointed a new Reserve team coach, I’ve always explained to them what a difficult job it is because it’s subject to what I need. I may pull out three or four players from a training session or I might say, ‘these players can’t play for you on Thursday because they’re on standby for me on Saturday’. So it’s a difficult job.”

Man Utd News 24/7

Congrats!
Glad you gave them a mention Scott. Congrats boys, get used to the winning mentality!
congrates ole
A liverpool Result won manchester united the league
now doesnt that sound nice
Maybe we should use the Spanish system and put Man Utd B in the third or fourth division. They will fair well and be more competitive.
Well done Ole lad, now can some of these kids make the step up to the first team squad.
Congrats Ole and the team
@ Gorse hill Red
I agree with that idea it would help our younger players develop much better
just look spain and barca in particular, their youth players seem to be developing much better than here in england and not because of better coaching or facilities but due to the competitiveness they have at reserve/youth level.
perfect example Pedro- played in the second division for barca 2 years ago and is now plying his trade in a successful barca team and doing well 3rd top scorer he is.
Anyway Well done to the reserves they have had an excellent season. hopefully we’ll see some in the 1st team more often
if not i would welcome loan moves to promoted prem clubs, cause i really rate a lot of them and if wilshere can get games at blackburn surely norwood, cleverly & c.evans etc could do the same
Wow! No dearth of trophies this season… in many forms.
Hey btw, do u guys think liverpool may not overtly try to beat Chelsea, considering it might help us get the 19th title given we win all our remaining games. ??
Has it ever happened before that liverpool ‘s win helped us the title.
ajopaul
if we get 9 points
a draw will do
All depends if the fourth place is still up for grabs. No doubt if beating Chelski the Dippers have a good chance of fourth then the players will be well up for it regardless of what there fans want. No player will give up the chance of playing in the Champions League plus I doubt the owners will care if United win the league or not, there main worry is the balance sheet.
So I am hoping Liverpool win there next game to give them a chance!!!
ajopaul
they did beat blackburn in the 94/95 season on the final day of the season and had we beat west ham we would have been champions so you could say they trued to help us win the title but we couldn’t do what we had to on the final day of the season
^tried
@ajopaul
Stoke have a better chance of getting something of the rentboys to be honest. With ngog playing up front Liverpool wont be the same threat as with torres there. I wont be surprised if we see a lacklusture liverpool performance there or if Stevie Me fakes an injury in the last minutes of their Europa League game against Atletico Madrid next week
ajopaul; on the last day of the 94/95 season Liverpool beat Blackburn and had we beaten West Ham we would have won the league.
Anyway, congratulations to Ole Gunnar, Warren and all of the players that have played a part! Job well done! Hopefully we’ll see some of them playing for the first team during the next decade
@Curtis
Things have changed since 94-95 season. We have drawn level with liverpools haul of 18 titles and the rivalary has intensified. Liverpools mentality has changed too. Many fans want them to throw the game away so that we cant win the league. How pathetic is that
i can see ole being united manager in the future. i’m not sure if he’ll be chosen to be sir alex’s successor but surely after that i’m certain that he will be here.he knows the club very well ,he also know what it takes to be a united player .and ofcourse his footballing brain.
Even at a reserves league UNITED make MANCHESTER PROUD !! ( City knob heads please note)
Today the media enbarked her attention on who is going to be Sir Alex’s successor. Today Mr Moyes is the one singled out while yesterday it was Mr Murinho. Every thing the papers print on United is headlines cos United are the most loved and one of the most leading clubs in the world.( City Knob heads please note)
My opinion on this matter is neither of them. For me it has to be Ole’ Gunnar Solskjear. I beleive in continuation and I believe he is capable of doing a very good job !!! ( City knob heads beware)
Well done to Ole and all the lads! Solskjaer just doesn’t stop delivering for Man United does he?
@AIG
Hi mate. Exactly. Things are not as simple as they were in 1995. I thought that their fans might call for their big club mentality, but as we saw in a poll yesterday, 46% of them want their team to lose against Chelsea.
Hope to see some of you guys down at Moss Lane this week to applaud Ole and the boys on their success. Time to beat the Bitters again and celebrate in real style!
On the above, I agree with opinion that Chelsea have to think about Stoke first, with no Terry and a nervous keeper, I can see the big boys causing some problems. Dont be suprised if Chavski drop points this weekend. Fat Frank has described Scholes’s goal as a ‘big blow’ to them. It has clearly got in their heads. They only just beat Bolton thanks to some typically shit reffing decisions!
aig
any proof or links to fans wanting united fail rather than them getting champions league football
Liverpool will have new owners with new money coming in next season
the players will want the chance to get champions league quility players to play with them
its down to the liverpool players not the fat guy in the retro jersey on a laptop
if it was down to the fans united wouldnt of beating city as most gave up and wanted an overhaul at old trafford because ,althou winning a trophy already, this season has been bollox and we should have waved the white flag
but now there back praising Old Men like Scholes Giggs and Neville who somehow ater adding a week to there life and nolonger past it
the Liverpool players care more about the future of the club that they are apart of
than domistic history of the club that will be over soon
AIG – The point Curtis is making is Liverpoo done us a favour in 95, but we couldn’t beat West Ham. There’s no point in the dippers beating Chelsea if we don’t win all our games.
@ Costas.
Hi Mate. I saw the 46% figure, I don’t think many of them have the sense to realise the financial implications of finishing outside the top 4. Morons. They should be worried about the demise of their shit club rather than how their results affect us.
I doubt they will finish 4th anyway, I don’t think they have the squad to do it and I think Spurs have the momentum. Fuck City, I hope they lose to Arsenal and Spurs. Cunts.
@ghtt
with liverpool i am not sure about anything. Their mentality is worrying and so is their manager with his puzzling and ridiculous decisions at times like taking torres off when they need goals, etc. They will want CL football but as i said the other day they face daunting task.By the time they kick off against chelsea their hopes may already have been over. They are 5 points behind of spurs within 3 games to go while spurs have 4 games. City are in the equation too. Chelsea cant look past stoke at the moment and stoke are more than capable of getting something at the bridge. If we win on Saturday(we should) then chelsea will be behind by the time they play on sunday and under pressure. Pressure affects even the best of players.
as for the proofs or links look at the comment posted by @Costas at 11:49 >many of my liverpool friends here want them to throw the game.
@willie
we have to assume we will win all our games . It could not be enough even the. we are just talking about the scenarios that will help us win the league and winning all our games wont gurantee that if chelsea dont slip up
AIG
UNited beat spurs and liverpool win this weekend
@ghtt
check this out.
only 11% fans in this poll think finishing 4th is not a disaster.
http://www.thisisanfield.com/kopblog/
@stretfordender
Hi mate. No, they probably are not thinking about any implications. For them, the most important thing is to avoid United fans’ banter about the fact that we will have overtaken them as the most successful club in England.
My best friend supports Liverpool and he is one of those who doesn’t care what they do with Chelsea. The most important stat for him, is that they’ve won the European Cup 5 times. That’s their final bragging right. But at the end of the day, if Liverpool have something to play for, that might be enough. And if things go according to plan(we beat Spurs and Arse beat Shity), then Liverpool will have hopes to finish 4th as they head to face Chelsea.
Just to add to what Costas said, there was a dipper on talksport the other day and he wants Liverpoo to lose and Drogba to get a hat – trick, thats the mentality we’re dealing with.
Every time i raise the thought of Ole being the next United manager with anyone, its either seen as a quaint romantic idea or lunacy.
Given the fact that Ferguson says he is one of the smartest most intuitive players he has ever managed, the fact that he’s doing a good job with the reserves, and is doing this because Fergie wanted to keep him at the club, does this not point to the chance it might not be so far-fetched?
Yes, its “only” the reserves. But Fergie looks to Milan with their ability to retain a winning mindset and ethic over decades, passing down a winning mentality from team to team. Surely one of the best ways to do this at United is to keep the players involved in the running of the team.
For all Moyes’s ability, he doesn’t strike me as our next manager. Someone who lives and breathes the club, understanding what it takes to win at the highest level does.
My money is on Ole.
@ghtt
i see. United win this weekend and liverpool win too. Well then we are left with a scenario where spurs are 2 points ahead with 3 games to go while the dippers have 2 games one of which is against Chelsea. here are the fixtures of all the 3 teams. Can happen but for that city and spurs have to implode really badly. Add to that liverpools europa league travelling chaos
LIVERPOOL
Burnley v Liverpool,
Liverpool v Chelsea,
Hull v Liverpool,
SPURS
Man Utd v Tottenham,
Tottenham v Bolton,
Man City v Tottenham
Burnley v Tottenham,
MAN CITY
Arsenal v Man City
Man City v Aston Villa
Man City v Tottenham
West Ham v Man City
the one hope for liverpool is that spurs and city do have difficult games where there is a good chance that they can drop points
@parkenstein
I wouldn’t mind the idea. Willierednut mentioned a scenario with the duo of Ole and Hodgson handling the reigns. I could see that working until Ole has the experience to handle the job on his own.
@Costas – could see that working. Though Fergie’s career has shown that if they’re good enough they’re old enough. Wouldn’t want to see Ole’s legacy tainted by a season in the top job too early though. Imagine Fergie would be on the phone most days regardless…
@willierednut
Dear Lord…Well, we have tp put our faith in the FSW then(can’t believe I said that). He knows that his job is on the line. Especially if Atletico knock them out.
Campione, campione, Ole, Ole, Ole!
Now let’s see more of the kids get a chance in the first team.
i’m one who are definetly for Ole to take Fergie’s job. no mourinho anywhere near old trafford pls. arrogant without class. least we can assure ole”ll have harmony with fergie who i’m sure will still have much capacity to play at the club after retires.
Ole Ole Ole!!!
Costas – It’ll be interesting to see what team Wafa puts out against Chelsea, as someone said will Gerrard pull a hamstring that weekend.
I actually don’t think the dippers were meant to win against Blackburn in 95. You could sense the shock in the crowd and the players when Redknapps free kick went in.
Furthermore the dippers are well capable of getting a result at home. Lets not forget they beat us last season without the thug and ladyboy. AS I have said when we best Spurs and if Arsenal can do Citeh and the scouse win at Turf Moor then the Chelsea game will actually mean summat.
King Eric – Do you remember Barnes reaction when he scored that day, he looked quite happy, though Redknapp looked gutted when scored.
willirednut – Yeah true mate.
AND SOLSKJAER HAS WON IT! Congrats to the reserves.
King Eric & willierednut – let’s not forget how gutted Les Ferdinand looked when he put Spurs 1-0 up at Old Trafford on the final day of 98/99.
If someone was shocked to score then i dont think they will even bother to score now
They might not need to. I’d take 0-0.
AIG
I agree things have changed since then. But they only have 2 local lads in their team who maybe give a shit, the rest of them don’t care so won’t change their performance levels based on us over-taking them. But whether they are able to beat chelsea is another story.
Honestly I reckon we have a better chance of stoke or wigan stealing points of the rent boys.
Anyway it will all be in vain if we fail to win our remaining games, so lets rather keep focus on united winning our games as we’ve seen what happens when we become complacent.
I dunno why but i fancy the rent boys to self implode, lampard suggested that the late winner fucked them psychologically much like how the macheda (3-2) winner fucked liverpool last season. so lets follow it up by winning every game in front of us and hopefully if we fortunate it will have the same effect as last season- another title in the bag.
On the future manager theme that keeps popping up what do you guys reckon about the idea of Mourinho taking over when SAF retires with Ole as his #2. I see this as a real possibility as it will provide Ole the education and 1st team experience he needs, while also probably ensuring us continued success during the transition phase ( mourinho has proved to bring success everywhere he’s gone) and when the transition phase is over and Ole has enough experience the managerial prostitute mourinho is can fuck off somewhere else and leave Ole to run things for the next 25 years
lol
Well Liverpool with not finish forth or fifth for that matter so we can stop thinking about Shitty and Spurs.
And to be sure of finishing 6th they have to win all there games as Villa are 1 point behind with a game in hand which if they win tonight against Hull they will go 2 points clear.
The most likely scenario for me might be-
It’s not too far fetched to think that Liverpool might drop point at Turf Moor (they will be tied after playing midweek and due to all the travel chaos) and if that happens and Everton wins than even the seventh place might be difficult for Liverpool if they loose to Chelsea the next weekend. So they might have to get a point atleast against Chelsea just to make sure of the seventh place.
Everton are playing Fulham at home so it might not be much of a surprise if they win.
Everton win will take them to 57 points and if Liverpool draw with Burnley they will have 60 with 2 games to go.
Everton face Stoke away on saturday and liverpool have to play Chelsea on sunday. If Everton win and have 60 points then I am not sure what will the Pool supporters choose. Finishing behind Everton or seeing Utd take the 19th. As on the last day of the season anything can happen.
And just in case Pools loose at Burnley not unlikely given that the FSW will rest many of its players and even if he play them they will be tied. That will be the best possible thing for us-
1) Liverpool loose at Turf Moore.
2) Everton winning against Everton and then against Stoke.
Then just to keep 7th place in their in their own hands they have to atleast get a draw with Chelsea or they might risk finishing 8th behind Everton.
On the Topic.
Congrats Ole and all the Reserve Team Staff and Players.
Hopefully we’ll see a lot of you going on and having a great career at this great club.
@Curtis
hope so they are competitive
@Fred
lol. I would be delighted with it.
I wouldn’t like Ole to get the top job, it’s to soon for him.
@The Real AB – we don’t really have to worry about different scenarios and permutations. Liverpool want to be in the Champions League, not the Europa League. Their only chance of getting there is by winning their remaining games. It’s that simple. The best thing for us is Liverpool going into the game against Chelsea on a good run of form (i.e. having thrashed West Ham and Burnley) with the scent of 4th place in their nostrils (this will certainly be the case if we beat Spurs and City drop points at Arsenal.)
Congrats 20LEgend. He always makes things happen. About our future coach, i’ll love to see Mourinho take over from SAF AND Ole appointed his assistant with d intention of exposing him (solksjaer) to top flight management. We all know that Jose wont stay more than 5yrs but we need someone 2 be in charge during d transition years.Moyes is good enough to be a long term coach but someone brought up with d UNITED PHILOSOPHY like Ole is preferable. But he needs little training on top flight management and that he can get by being an assistant to a top flight coach. To the title race, lets first concentrate on beating spurs. Doing that will mount pressure on chelski and stoke might just do a little miracle on em. They are without Terry and drogba aint fit, so anything can happen.lets just keep our fingers crossed…. We’ll forever stay UNITED !!
@Fred
Mate you are right about us not worring about different combinations. To be honest I believe that if we win all 3 games we will be champions, as the way Chelsea have played lately they will drop points in atleast one.
But your point about pools having hope of CL qualifications I don’t agree with as they just can’t. It’s too much of if’s and but’s and all the pieces falling right for pools, it just ain’t gonna happen.
Pools will finish at best 6th as I can’t see Spurs, City and Villa, all fucking their seasons now.
And yeah I am backing City to get atleast a point at Emirates. I have put a bet of Rs. 10000 (1250 pounds) with one of my Arsenal fanatic mate.
Ole would be my choice for our next manager…he lives and breathes Utd! Look at Guardiola at Barcelona, he was their reserve team coach and now he is managing one of the best Barca teams ever…and he had no previous top level coaching experience.
Sorry. It’s 125 pounds not 1250 pounds.
@Chilly Willy
My thoughts exactly. We dont need an impressive CV, just someone who knows exactly what it means to play for United.
The Real AB – don’t count Liverpool out just yet. I think this scenario is definitely possible:
Spurs lose to United, draw with City, beat Bolton & Burnley = 71pts
Liverpool beat Burnley, Chelsea & Hull = 68pts
City lose to Arsenal, draw with Spurs & Villa, beat West Ham = 67pts
Villa beat Hull & Blackburn, draw with Birmingham and City = 66pts
But wouldn’t it be just like Spurs to bottle it and drop points to Bolton and/or Burnley? This is what Liverpool should be hoping for, so they’d better get the job done against Chelsea!
Can I just say, I know alot of people are pushing for Pep to be the new United Manager, but I think the praise is misplaced somewhat….
The man your ACTUALLY praising is none other than Rjkard (however the hell you spell it)
Pep inhertied the team he now manages completely intact, he didn’t build that squad. It was the Former manager who put them together based on their strengths. This current generation of Beautiful Football everybody drools over at Barcelona was built by RJKARD.
Thats still his club. INFACT, the only addition made by Pep was the BIZARRE decision to sell Eto, still one of the best in the world, and replace him with that other fella who, although talented, doesn’t really look like he can cut it at a BIgger Club (ring any bells?)
Pep was insane to agree to Mourhino. Very Naive. He actually gave Inter Eto AND he paid them. This isn’t a personal attack on Pep or anything, im just saying, people screamng over Pep would do better to prefer our own Ole to take the reigns when the Big Man steps down. If anything, Pep has shown that when a great manager puts together a great team, a complete novice with talent can take over and continue the success.
People clearly underestimate Rjkard and overestimate Pep. I guess they believe the media hype surrounding him . In my opinion, whoever takes over United will only deserve true praise once they’ve been in charge for a few years and taken us further forward. Look at Chelsea. Mourhino even said it himself when he knocked them out of Europe….
ITS STILL HIS TEAM.
Sure, take away 2 or 3 newer players, but the Spine and Heart of that Club is still Mourhino. This is even more true of Barcelona. ITS RJKARDS CLUB. I think its a little naive to want PEP at United.
As for me, I’d happily welcome Ole as our Manager, why not?
Pep has proved its possible for a player to make the huge step up, so why couldn’t Ole?
I wouldnt be surprised if he DID.
Just some thoughts…
@Chilly Willy & Parkenstein – FFS let’s give the job to Steve Coppell or Bryan Robson then, shall we?
Like I said the other day, does the name WILF McGUINNESS mean anything to you people?
Paul Parker – Yeah a good post mate. You raise some good points there.
I agree with Fred on the 4th place spot. Is it really that far fetched for us to beat Spurs and Arsenal to beat Citeh thus leaving the vermin summat to play for? No I don’t think it is.
“As for me, I’d happily welcome Ole as our Manager, why not?
Pep has proved its possible for a player to make the huge step up, so why couldn’t Ole?”
Wow, you just completely undermined your entire 8-paragraph rant about Pep being overrated.
P.S. Dismiss Guardiola all you want but I don’t remember Rijkaard winning 6 trophies in one year with this great team he singlehandedly assembled.
Also, Mourinho’s first title-winning Chelsea team were mainly built from players signed by Ranieri or stolen from United’s list of transfer targets. The only ingredients Mourinho added were Carvalho & Ferreira from Porto. But it would be ridiculous to dismiss Mourinho’s part in their title win. I don’t think Ranieri would have won the league even with the same players.
Fred
I agree with you, you can’t dismiss peps achievements based on the fact that he inherited his side he still had to get them motivated and playing well cause if i remember they were rather crap towards the end of rijkaards reign.
but as paul parker did suggest it does make it that bit easier if the structure was in place already. only manager i know to have transformed a club from the shit is roy hodgson in recent years and of course SAF all those years ago
so just cause he didnt build up from the ground doesn’t make him any less of a manager
Paul Parker – I just think it’s to big of a job for Ole at the minute, it has to be top manager who has managed at a top club imo.
I wouldn’t mind Ole as number two, to a more experienced manager.
Ole should take over from Sir Alex With Cantona as his number 2
Norman whiteside shoud be Uniteds physiotherapist(he has his papers) Denis Law should be our kit man and Paul Mcgrath should be our Groundsman
Mickey Thomas shuld also get to be our new Chief Executive
I hear he does wonders with Money, he always has a spare Tenner
GHTT – lol, Remi Roses as life president.
*Moses*
slightly twisting the logic there. just because they are former united players doesnt make them immediate candidates. i certainly wouldnt want Gary Neville or Nicky Butt taking charge.
but the fact that we have a young aspiring manager on the book, one our current manager rates not only as a player but as someone who thinks about the game, can read it and knows how to change it when its not going your way, one who is united to core.
when fergie goes, it will be the first change in manager in 25 odd years. having continuity surely has to be a good thing – the pressure will crush other men. and if it doesnt they will lose our respect if they dont play attacking, progressive football whatever the weather (Mourinhio).
it is not a case of keep everyone on the books, more one of nurturing the talent we have and giving them an opportunity.
and @ Fred – Wilf McGuinness is hardly a like for like comparison. the team he took over was fading to history – the European Cup winning team seriously on the wane. And before we make any obvious comparisons to the current eleven, rooney is still 24, Bobby Charlton was 33 when McGuinness took over.
Hahaha, to be continued Fred, I gotta step out the Office then im off.
But come on, Rijkaard was very very very unlucky.I don’t think he was given the time he needed. Lets be honest and unbiased for a moment….
Paul Scholes goal that knocked out Rijkaard’s Barcelona was a one off – something we’ll all remember. I was stuck in a pub in the middle of nowhere on the way home from God knows where on my own. Needless to say nobody supported United in there and it wasn’t exactly the Savoy. I jumped up punched the air and spilled my drink….. and quickly left lol.
The point is, Barcelona were VERY unlucky not to proceed at our expense. We played out of our skin but it was Scholes who did the impossible. This game is as much about Luck as it is about Skill. I think that Rijkaard was CLEARLY on the verge of big things – I doubt you would disagree?
The man built that team, I don’t think anybody can take that away from him.
But like I said, to be continued, I gotta go! Been busier then usual recently I’ve actually had to work.
http://www.trulyreds.com/20100421/get-to-know-emily-united-youngest-fan/
Nbelievable
Fellas, don’t get me wrongh, im not saying Ole should take the top spot.
I wouldn’t be disappointed if he did, mind you….
but what I am saying is EVERYBODY saying Pep should get it is a fool
He was an inexperienced manager who inherited a great team, anybody who dismisses Rijkaard’s HUGE ROLE in building Barcelona clearly doesn’t know enough about La Liga.
Ask Messi who made him the player he is today, and he will tell you Rijkaard. Everybody is wanking over Inesta and Xavi, but it was RIjkaard who brought them into the team and gave them the roles they are still playing today – you lot are wanking over Rijkaard and don’t even know it lol.
Pep when he took over is the equivalent of Ole now, get it?
@ GHTT & Emily…
Congratulations…..love the videos….
Just to repeat – im not saying Ole should take over the reigns.
I have no idea who should take over.
Its one of lifes great mysteries …and I’ve pondered it for years.
But PEPY ?
Nah.. I’d rather see Moyles, rather see Hodgson, or even Ole.
I don’t know who should take over,
but I do know it shouldn’t be the inexperienced Pep,
thats a naive choice IMO.
Paul Parker – If he’s that good, why isn’t he in a job?
http://www.trulyreds.com/20100421/get-to-know-emily-united-youngest-fan/
just to let people know as its not stated on that Costas Wrote that post about Uniteds youngest fan
Hodgson must be a dark horse.
@willierednut
He’s too old. We want someone who will be given at least 7 years to build another dynasty.
He’ll probably be the next England manager.
I’d go for Moyes, O’Neill, Ole, Blanc
Well done to Ole and the team!
GHTT – Didn’t know Costas wrote that, but we already know Emilys a star.
apparently, quite a few lads here would like to see mourinho take over from Fergie. just because he has the highest chance to bring us continual success? i’m disapointed i must say.
how about his brand of unattractive football? his low class arrogant who always wants to be in the spotlight & bigger than the club he manage? what different are we then compare to chelski? no soul, no class, no culture. didnt we got rid of players like beckham, big time charlie ince becos such attitude is juz not manchester united. so it doesnt matter as long as he can bring us title? dunt get me wrong, success is important, but selling our soul with mourinho
i’m confident it will not happen. this is manchester united. the next manager will be someone more down to earth, passion in youth development, will devote to the club & will be here for a long long time. mourinho my ass.
WTF is this talk about mourinhos brand of football. he ‘owned’ the same barca side that made us look an average team in last years final and played with a more positive side then we do against barca. 4 out and out attacking players.It paid of too. the football we have played in the last 2 years hasnt been the most eye catching so we cant pick out other teams saying they play boring football and all that. As for young players, after becks,giggs,scholes and neville how many young players have come through at OT?. hardly any. Jose has given the likes of santon and balotelli a good chance. He has most of the qualities that SAF has. Someone may not like it but i dont give a fuck about that. AT this point of time he is the best man to take over and continues SAF’s successful reign
Ole and Warren and the Boys.
Big well done on winning the Title.
@aig alex is god, guess u will soon change ur nick to mourinho is god. flow to where the glory is my friend. very obvious success means everything to you. nothing wrong with that, good luck to you. wonder how long have u follow manchester united & really wonder will u continue to be here if for the next decade we dont win another title? dont get piss off, think about it. only becks, giggs, scholes & neville? haha, that’s interesting. how about evans, fletcher, oshea, brown, gibson? becos they arent probably recognise as world class yet, the chances given to them doesnt count? anyhow, u r not alone, there are many others who like to see mourinho here. u are entitle to ur wishlist.
i dont see it happening.
lastly, mourinho my ass.
GHTT, loved the Emily tribute, and the wonderful ‘When Johnny goes marching down the wing, O’Shea ! O’Shea !’ with all the gestures. What a family archive you have there. Classic.
@GHTT
Congrats mate. You and Emily deserve it.
Good timing too. One day after her birthday.
Spurs are going to be tough as hell. I hope the lads play harder and better against them than they have the last two games.
And what does everyone think about Gary going up against Bale?? Three weeks ago I would have been shitting myself at this prospect, but Gary did well against Belamy this last week, who has pace to burn, and he also held his own against Ribery in germany (until the retarded fucking handball). So, maybe gary just knows with his experience how to deal with players who can beat him with pace.
@devilisred
i am actually a gloryhunter.last year i supported barca.maybe it will be inter next year if they win the cl. Saf himself regards jose highly and when he says that he means something. The number of young players isnt the same as those in the 90s there isnt a doubt about that.mourinho for 3 years with ole as assistant then ole can take over.that has and will be my opinion. The pressure mourinho has been under at chelsea and inter all he has been told is win us trophies at chelsea and win the cl at inter.he has done well so far.
Oh yeah and sucess is what i am after,that is why i am supporting united since 2002 when arsenal and then chelsea were on top not united.
AIG – Rubin Kazan beat Barcelona in the CL this season too, and it was Barca’s first team playing, and it was at the Nou Camp, and it was something like the second game in the group stages too, so not when Barca were winding down. They also drew with them in their other game.
Shall we give their manager a bell?
@ Aig,
okay, assume u got ur wish & mourinho my ass got the job. manager chooses their own deputy. Ole will not get the job. it will not happen. for ole to get the necessary exposure, it got to start next year under the wing of Fergie. he had proven his shrewness as a player, he has shown his loyalty & love to the club & he shows he can win games & championship (i know it’s just reserves!!). the club needs to put him up as assistant, & hope fergie will still hang around for at least a couple of more years. this will be the best arrangement in IMO.
@Scott
guardiola is a good manager but he will not leave barcelona unless something drastic happens. he has been barca all his career. He is in a ‘comfort zone’ there where players respect him because of his status at Barcelona especially under cryuff when he was the part of the ‘dream team’. There .have been some noises of him being unhappy but that was merely to get a new contract. I wont be surprised if he stays there for a long time
haha, nice one scott.
@DEVILisRED
That is fine too ole getting the assistant managers job now but i cant see it happening. it is highly unlikely that someone who hasnt managed a club will get the job. Its a high pressure job given the new manager will have to fill the boots of the ‘best club manager’ of all time.Mourinho may choose his own assistant, that could be the case but if we want ole as our manager which many want then he needs experience. SAF will stick around for 2-3 years more(thats what i think,the newspaper reports are rubbish). Someone else may come up by that time who may impress SAF. I have no problems with Bruce, moyes but everton and sunderland are no United. Will they be able to settle quickly enough???
Devil is Red – Will get slated by some folk but have to wonder about what you said. All I seem to read is posts praising anyone to the detriment of United. Fuck me its getting tedious.
Barca NOW Inter!
@Aig
read again scott post, u totally screw up ur understanding pretty funny.
i dont remember phelan having any managerial experiences, he still got the knod for fergie’s assistant. it all boils down to how the board rate ole & whether fergie think he’s suitable & ready. how quickly a manager settle alot depends on the fans sadly. remember fergie almost got the boots as well if not for mark robbin & the fa cup, no? if i think one is suitable to bring our club forward in the long run, i can accept some barren years. i know i can. can u?
DEVILisRED – That story about SAF getting the sack if United lost to Forrest is bullshit, edwards always denied it.
@king eric
surrounded by ABUs everyday of my life. their only joy of following football seems to be the detriment of manchester united FC. i can accept that & i fight them everyday, no sweat. fortunately, for the past 20years, i have come up top more often thanks to fergie haha.
but coming from our own set of fans, it sadden me i must admit.
@DEVILisRED
Well i answered scott as i interpreted it. If he meant something else i dont know
phelan has been in the managerial jobs since 1995. As we all know fergie will decide it but the early signs ole is showing are good and it looks he can do it at united. Fergie is happy with the job he has done.
talking about barren years well i have and many of us have seen some dark moments in 2004 and 2005.I certainly wont mind if we dont win for some years becaue ultimately we will get things right. There could be a transition phase after fergie and i dont mind it.
Saying that there will be some disgruntled voices if we dont win anything. just look at milan after they appointed leonardo. he hasnt done well and they arent happy with him. I just hope we are not that ‘short sighted’ and sack the new manager after one season id he dosent do well
@willierednut
true anot, only the board then knows. but 1st couple of years, we were really struggling. so i am not surprise if it’s true. i also do recall i have also read wide speculation back then (if my memory serves me right still) fergie will need to land the 1st divison title, otherwise another fa cup will not save his ass. we did not win the title next year, but we landed the cup winners cup instead. haha, one of my best year that year. btw, we beat barcelona that year for those mesmorise with them now.
Well done Ole for bagging the Reserve League. Only time will tell how successful you have been with the number of players that make a name for themselves at United. We’ve won this league in the past and very few players have broken through. Reading some of the comments on here all I have to say thank God none of you are going to be asked on who the next manager is.
@Paul Parker – Guardiola is too inexperienced but Ole is not? This must be a joke.
Well done to Ole and the lads, well deserved and beating the dippers to it, makes it even sweeter. I’m particularly glad for Ole, he’s United through and through. He could have left us years ago for first team football, but he knew being at United in whatever capacity, was the best place to be.
could anyone see ole being involved in the first team in some sort of capacity next season with a view of him gaining some sort of experience for eventually taking the job? i think in the not too distant future you would have quite a few of that 99 treble winning team as the coaching staff and i would welcome it with open arms!
Does anyone know where or what happened with Ravel Morrison???????
.. beckham into sheringham… AND SOLKSJAER’S WON IT … congratulations OLE
