Tom F, the situation we are in is really bad my friend and i'm not making excuses. The 11 players that Wenger put on the field were the only players who were fit (save for Fabianski) accoridng to the Arsenal Website. Actually, looking at the team sheet i feel that 4 - 0 was a good result under the circumstances. So enjoy your victory.

What is worrying me is that if the injury situation doesn't improve we might get another hammering on Wednesday, Sagna and Clichy really have to come back. I have seen man-U struggle when they lost Vidic and i believe Arsenal will always struggle if they are to play without their first choice fulbacks in Sagna and Clichy. I also believe that if Man-U was to lose their first choice fulbacks they will struggle. Incidentally 3 of the goals came from flanks and the Nani goal Traore is the one who was trying to recover the situation.

Anyway, it seems that you like to kick a man when he is down (Rooney's yellow card and Nani's trick on Hoyte) so enjoy.

Where's Billy?- hahahaha, had me rolling around mate, top post!!
As for the gunners, both here on this blog and elsewhere (Austingooner take note)- wtf is all that crap about deserving to get roughed up with regard to Nani showboating?? The boy ran rings around you, showed himself to be far more talented than you- react by trying to step up, not throwing your toys out of the pram!
And seriously- the 5 point lead excuse is wearing thin, it's a saving grace maybe but you lost, were completely anihilated by your biggest rivals, that alone is the biggest talking point. You were outclassed all over the park, that 5 point lead has nothing to do with the showcase of football yesterday. Silly gooners.

Arsenal wanted to lose before the game start like the one against Spurs in the Carling Cup.They have too many injuries and they don't have enough players to replace the first team players.I'm sure Wenger plan that very well.He does not want to play the Carling Cup final in between the two games against AC Milan. If Arsenal won last night,MU is going to end up with nothing in this season. Wenger and Fergie are really good friends behind the media.

as soon as i saw the teamsheet, i predicted 3-0 to ManU. hoyte and traore are not ready for this step up [at 18 traore is allowed, time for hoyte at 23 to shape up or ship out, preferably both]

seeing united had this season's 1st choice defence out, while we played toure who clearly is drained from the ANC just smacked of a squad decimated by injuries. a bench containing no fit players just underlined the point.

we played as badly as i've seen, sure the pitch didn't help our style of football but that's merely an aside - not the reason for the defeat.

we all know how the game went, and no arsenal player turned up. we scored one perfectly good goal, but the way the game was going, a repeat of the 6-1 would have been a just scoreline.

the only upside is the knowledge we just aren't as bad as we looked, and at 5 points clear that's surely obvious to all those crowing at how arsenal are finished.

gilberto had ANOTHER nightmare, the poor boy's legs are gone, and it's a shame to see, much like when scholes came on. 2 great players with very little left to give. the difference is anderson looks more than capable of stepping up, while our replacement had a tantrum and is now at portsmouth.

i'm a little shell shocked, a little impressed by the united tenacity [the games lost this season featured nobody playing nearly as well as last night] and disappointed in the likes of eboue, who time and time again lets the fans and his team mates down. adabayor needs to not make a meal of things, as although his foot was clearly trodden on, he went down like an early ronaldo, and there's no place for that at arsenal.

congratulations to united yesterday, but for both there is a far more significant game to come this week, and a lot of games to play in the league.

i look forward to the league clash as i'm sure we'll give you a much better game, on the way to picking up a long over due title ;)

United were without Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Ronaldo, Neville, Tevez etc. Arsenal fans are only showing themselves up by talking about missing players.

I am a Utd fan, and thoroughly enjoyed owning Arsenal...hats off to Anderson, Fletcher and Nani as well.

What bothered me is Rooney's trick more than Nani's ... Rooney picked up a stupid yellow, He is an amazing player and his presence was undoubtedly felt, but that trick was stupid, instead he should have taken 1-2 of those extra chances and buried them past Lehman, best way of humiliating Arsenal than those tricks.

Nani's trick was great...but we have to understand, when a great team like Arsenal is down by 4 goals and you do those tricks, you are asking to be hurt.

As for Anderson and Nani over Scholes and Giggs, in time I agree, but we have to understand, Scholes and Giggs have put in consistent performances for years. Nani is developing into a team player and Anderson is just plain awesome.

All in All, Arsenal was owned yesterday.

Arselicked.

You aren't making excuses are you? Fabregas was playing wasn't he? What about Hleb? Who was at the back for your boys? Gallas? Toure? Right.

Who started for United? Park, Fletcher, Nani, Anderson? Oh I see what you mean.

Both sides fielded weakend sides in comparsion with what is usually on offer. Nani was mostly doing his tricks against Gallas, your Captain so don't start talking about how Arsenal lost in the dressing room. Nani is still young and new to this league, he has done pretty well I'd say. Also, Nani is similar to Ronaldo in the way that they both do 'tricks' and are both from Portugal. They definately do different types of tricks and dummies to get past players. Ronadlo does more work with the ball moving and Nani does his with the ball in one place, before losing a defending player and attacking.

Arsenal played a shocker yesterday and all credit to United for making them uncomfortable all throughout the game. United were also playing on the same pitch as Arsenal although you could be forgiven for not seeing Arsenal during the 90 minutes.

Arselicked I'd like to say, Move on mate, don't stay bitter and don't make excuses when your team play badly. It happens to us all. Adebayor was even rubbish at diving yesterday and what was that about the dirty Arsenal players fouling players off the ball and also trying to stop Evra producing kids.

you are a joke.

I hope this win over Arsenal can have a longer lasting affect than you'd probably expect from an Arsenal side that have learned to bounce back. If they continue to push on and like us yesterday, get over a bad result quickly their confidence will creep back.

Yesterday told us a few things, some being the fact that Arsenal still have a good few games away to bigger teams in the league, including us.

Also, Fletcher showed just why I mentioned in the Fletcher blog why I don't want him to leave. He is not happy but understanding at being out for long periods but still comes into the squad and performs. His run down the line and cross to Rooney deserved a great goal, his heders weren't too bad either.. he likes them, remember Chelsea at OT a couple of years back?

Anderson and Nani are showing their value more and more and Anderson proved yesterday that although all the talk about young midfielders centres around Fabregas, our boy Anderson out shone him again. Soon it won't be just the united fans that know we have one of the best prospects in a very young player, who I hope will follow in the footsteps of Rooney and Ronaldo and the like to become a United star for a good few years.

Shame we didn't get points from this, but the result against City is now gone and we can move on feeling our best, I look forward to our trip to France and the will be 'just loving it' when we play Newcastle on Saturday!!!
