Wes Brown has sung the praises of team mate Wayne Rooney, claiming nobody is better than him.
“I wouldn’t swap Wayne Rooney for anyone,” said Brown. “He was a great player when he first came to United, but he has got better every year and I think this season he has put himself right up there with the best players in the world. At the moment he isn’t one of the best – he’s the best. I know I am biased but there isn’t a weakness to his game and he has been scoring goals for fun. Ronaldo is fantastic, but maybe leaving United has given Wayne the chance to play in his favourite position as a striker and he has been unbelievable.”

Have to agree with Wes here. I personally don’t think that Rooney is the best player in the world at the moment but I cant think of a single weakness to his game.
He does do some silly tricks and loses the ball every now and then but I think I might let him off this one time lol
I concur : )
In world football at the moment – Rooney is head and shoulders above Ronaldo and Messi
Rooney is total football – the other two have issues with there game – notably defensive work
Rooney is that mad about football that you could put him anywhere and he’d give you 200%
You only have to look what the injury did to him and the team – we were on course for something huge but it just wasn’t to be
I hope he’s fit next year because I know whats coming…
I wouldn’t swap him for anyone in the world.
Yet, with humility, I’d be delighted if he could improve his dribling just like he did pratice his headers. Such progress would defenitely transform him into football’ s number one.
next united captain, rooneys all about passion.
would not swap him for anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn’t say he was a great player when he came to United. He was a raw talent. SAF worked his magic and channeled his development in to becoming the player he is today. I don’t think he is the best player in the world and I don’t think he will ever become so. Ronaldo and Messi are more skilfull players than Rooney and FIFA look at things like that before anything unfortunately. He is certainly up there with the best strikers in the world though.
There is a big gap between him and the other players at United at the moment in my opinion. Hopefully some of the other reds step up to close the gap.
Anyone else think that Michael Owen has been a help to Rooney? His finishing improving coincides with us getting Owen? Maybe not but certainly feasable. Just look at Wayne’s movement this season.
NICE TO HEAR FROM WES IM SURE HE IS GOING TO HAVE A GOOD BREAK AND COME BACK FOR THE SHIRTS NEXT SEASON ANYONE WHO KNOWS OWT ABOUT FOOTY KNOWS THE WHITE PELE HAS GOT IT ALL
@King Eric
I think Owen mentioned that he was helping Rooney out with positional play or something like that.
King Eric – That’s a good point that, it never really occured to me. He has definately added some more Owen-like qualities to his game.
Nothing wrong with being biased Wes.You are right on the money though regards him being the best in the world in his role.
I like the way while he has been at United he has dealt with the off field distractions, dealt with same.Married Coleen and settled down to become a model professional.
Also I think he is really quite shy and humble for someone of such stature in world football.
At the recent awards I personnally thought he looked embaressed at the praise being lavished on him, and almost saying its not about me! its the TEAM.
However looking forward to him getting England of to a flier against the USA on the 12th.
“Just enough education to perform” fucking Star*
@King Eric instantly reminded me that somebody mentioned it early this season, Owen is somebody who could even help the likes of Rooney!
I hope Ole could help Rooney too..
