@ failsworth devil, wise words mate. I agree with all your comments, JM CQ would be a fantastic pairing, I've always thought the only person with the gonads to take over from SAF is JM. I know a great many of our fellow supporters hate his guts, but I beleive only in the way that they see some of SAF in him. Seige mentality like that of SAF, no better motivator of players, he WILL not take any bollocks of anyone. There are a great many of his countrymen playing for us. I think we should have GN, RG and Ole on the coaching staff, but lets face it I really dont think they would be able to step into SAF boots, not even MH, SB and Keano. JM and CQ or JM and an assistant who has been with the club for years could start a second twenty odd year reign, do we want to be chasing the title for 19 years like YSB, I know I fucking dont, been there and watched that mate for too many years.
We must take emotion out of this and think of building a new dynasty IMO.

i totally agree with you on that failsworth....any move away from united is a step down...and the united challenge is the biggest any manager can face....but where you've got me wrong is ''newer'' not ''bigger''...he strikes me as the type who would one day just pack up and decide that managing a national team is the next step in his career .
anyway , thats just my opinion , and , yeah , i am biased...i hate that cunt from his days at chelski...really used to push the limits at times .

well , luckily...that is not our main concern at the moment ...and hopefully it wont be anytime in the foreseeable future

at least we all agree on one thing - AIG(alex is god)...and whoever takes over will have the toughest act in football management to follow!(pray its not another busby-mcguiness syndrome)

I'm convinced that Mourinho's going to be our next manager, and there are enough good reasons previously stated as to why he'd be a good choice... in three years or so, over half our team will be Portuguese speaking (the Da Silvas, Anderson, Nani, Ronnie, Possebon), while our English contingent (Roo, Rio and Carrick) have all spoken highly of him... I couldn't give a toss what the RBs think about this - let them carry on trying to be like United or Barca... And I don't buy into all this 'having an ex-player as manager' bollox... I read a stat a couple of weeks ago that implied only Sparky had a half-decent record against United - I just think they'd all be living in Fergie's shadow, which is the mistake that was made after Busby left...

Anant, you go on about new challenges etc etc.... but there is no bigger challange than United...

The only time a manager would ever leave us, would be if they was pushed...

Like our players... u here them in interviews.. and they say if they ever left OT, they would be taking a step down..

I still stand by my prediction of CQ and JM, but if we was dead set on a British Manager... then the only option would be Martin O'Neil..

But i would prefer Jose Mourinho and Carlos Querioz coz of the reasons i stated above..

Hiddink is a good coach yes... but.... everywhere he goes, he seems to have all types of trouble with players... and we do not need anything like that happening during a transition period when GOD (SAF) finally hangs up the chewing gum for the last time.

Uhm anant. Just wanted to remind you that Rooney and Moyes can't stand each other! And I think that the only way Rooney could ever leave us is if we brought in Moyes as a manager.

Besides Moyes has never won anything. We need a manager wo knows how to win, a manager who knows the pressure of expectations well.

O'Neil coped well at Celtic. Did his job well, won a few things. Got them to the final of the UEFA cup. Plays a similar football to SAF.
I'd say that when SAF retires we should go for O'Neil.

everywhere he has gone so far he's not last more than a few seasons . the man thinks more about his personal career than his clubs . is that the man we would like succeeding sir alex?! he would probably walk out as soon as he wins a european cup with us , looking for a new challenge ! not for me . no .sorry.

also , my arguement is that our players would have got so accustomed sir alex's old school british type mentality that similar managers like o'neill and moyes would fit the bill perfectly . just look at what they have done with their average-ish clubs . everton especially . what were they 7 years ago - relegation candidates ? and he would get sir alex's vote too , being scottish .

hiddink - thats one name i thought i should have mentioned as soon as i posted previously . the guy is absolutely fucking genius!
