The consequences not so, but the way he slapped it in from distance was amusing to say the least. Maybe because I was in shock at the time or I was so bemused by our performance in the game that it was easy to mistake Scholes stupidity for a light moment. Scholes or not, it was disappointing that he would EVEN think of doing that, it was clearly intentional and not a reflex thing. That was disgraceful. I'm shocked and hurt that such a blatant disregard for fair play came from a player wearing a Manchester United shirt. I don't care how frustrated you get, you have to show composure and professionalism- especially, if you are a veteran player and a team leader. Embarrassing end to a truly embarrassing game. Who knows what would have happened if that ball had been left alone? We certainly could have used an extra man going forward in the last 6 minutes. Shame Scholesy. Shame.
