What Does Rooney Know?

Wayne Rooney is my favourite player at United. He embodies much of what I think the perfect footballer is. Great ability, bags of passion, dedication, commitment, and above all else, he loves playing the game.

As part of his latest Nike campaign, Rooney has given his opinion on a whole range of topics. He starts by talking about his early career, when he chose not to take on another trial at Liverpool when offered the chance to join his boyhood club Everton.

He talks of the importance of getting your first touch right and being able to hold the ball up in order to get the goal. He says when he goes out on the pitch he wants to enjoy his football and wants to play a game which expresses himself as a person.

He reflects on the volley he scored against Newcastle as well as recognising the areas of his game he is working on to improve - his left foot and his heading.

To me he is already a United legend, even if he retired today. Although an Everton fan, he represents United in many ways, most of all with his spirit.

spot on with rooney. its a shame hes not getting as much support from the terraces this season as ronnie. especially when u think of his passion and commitment to go with his obvious talent.
however, i dont think its because hes not as loved by the fans. i “hope” what i call proper fans appreciate rooney more so than ronaldo, i just think that ronnies two latest songs are so catchy theyve become seasonal anthems!
we need a new song for roo!

I agree he embodies the spirit of the club, never complains when played out of position eg Barca away.

Wankers give him a lot of stick because he swears and argues but the same arseholes are the ones who complain that their beloved England show no passion.

He is our match winner for Wednesday!!

If i am forced to sell one, i will sell ronaldo instead of rooney. Simply because i think ronaldo is not as down to earth as rooney. But i wonder when will he start scoring for fun again. Sigh
