I was watching something on Channel Four the other day when this Derren Brown advert came on. I didn’t think a lot of it other than it was pretty random. It was on the second viewing that I noticed a web address in the background which spelt Manchester United backwards. Again, that’s pretty random.
Clearly, I have too much time on my hands so I typed the web address, RetsehcnamDetinu.com in to the browser to see what happened and you get directed to a backwards page. Here it is turned the right way around
Any ideas what this is all about?

I think they are just using the branding of the biggest english club to promote Derren Browns new show
Even one of the lines on the page reads “claims that reverse football website is just a front for getting people to go to Derren Brown The event Website”
Although i did enjoy reading on a forum the hatred towards him after we lost to burnley. Coincidence…….er no.
There are a million-and-one conspiracy theories going on with Derren Brown’s latest shows, named ‘The Events’.
Among the best conspiracies were:
1) Derren had a hand in the Michael Owen deal
2) Derren, by his own admission, says one of his stunts ‘could mean the end of my career’ (his words) and involves him putting Prime Minster Gordon Brown in a trance and getting him to call a general election.
3) That 43MILLION quid jewellery heist? It’s all a con – the papers and police are all in on it…

not sure what this means, but having seen him live, i’d recommend him to anyone. Top act and i’m looking forward to this and if he’s a United fan, then he’s even better than i first thought.

Look who we are facing after these Champions League game. After the 2nd game we face Liverpool away and after the 3rd game we face Chelsea away.

honestly, it’s a tough draw. i would have liked to avoid wolfsburg, it’ll be difficult playing against them. plus we have to travel a lot. oh well, at least we weren’t drawn with bayern and the likes.

Darren Brown uses misdirection, unconscious priming and techniques in neuro-linguistic programming to influence people into thinking and behaving in a certain way in order to create a psychological illusion. I believe, but I may be wrong, that the advert is not only simply advertising the show, but it is also conditioning the viewers into a certain way to thinking.
After analysing his speech, I think that Darren himself is the misdirection. He is mostly babbling on about magic and what you can expect to see in his show. What is going on around him is much more important. Below I will point out out a few features of the ad that I think are significant factors in the conditioning that is going on. However, what they actually relate to and how they are meant to make a viewer act and/or think will only really become apparent during the show as the suggestions are placed into a practical context:
Firstly on the bus shelter there is an advert with a picture of a pizza but the text does not really relate to this picture. The text reads “Stuck to my sofa.” To make this message less obvious the letter ‘S’ is very slightly obscured so that the first word may be read as “Tuck”, a word that may have more of an affiliation to pizzas. I.e, “I tuck into my pizza.” This is to ensure that the massage “Stuck to my sofa” is picked up by unconscious thought without entering conscious awareness.
Secondly, in the centre of the road, Darren stops to look at a girl holding a balloon. The balloon has an eagle emblem on it. This maybe significant.
There is a lamp-post with some coloured stickers on it. Each sticker has a number printed on it: 52-Blue, 25-Blue, 0-Green, 6-Red and 47-Red.
A man wearing a suit runs across the road calling for a taxi. What is unusual is that a large letter ‘O’ is printed on the back of his jacket.
A bus goes across the far side of the road and in the bus’s advertisement panel is a sign reading “It will be you.”
There are a few other strange things in the ad:
Some people and cars going backwards even when the TV footage is played in reverse. However this is not really consciously noticed.
Some of the text on the bill boards is back to front and even though at first this does not look out of place in a back to front ad, thinking about it logically, if I video taped a word and the reversed the footage, the lettering would not have changed orientation.
Finally, one effect that I felt the ad had on me. After viewing this advert and then writing up notes so I could write this script, it felt unnatural for letters to be the correct way round. The advert gives a good degree of adaptation to mirrored lettering.

What does the advert mean? After viewing this ad on tv, i can’t help thinking that there is a hidden meaning- knowing Derren, this is the kind of thing he would do. After visiting Stucktomysofa.com and manunited.com backwards, it taks you to the same website- Derren Brown on channel 4 wanting you to enter his competition.
i want to find out what the numbers mean on the lamp post and the lettering on the mans jacket- there is definatly a hidden meaning to all of this, i have entered the competiton but still want to find out, if anyone has any ideas i would be really greatful for hearing from you- my email address is x_xeeshadolie123x_x@hotmail.com

There is some talk on his official blog about a website with score predictions. Apparently Derren predicted – and predicted correctly – the score for the game Man U vs. Arsenal last week.

I wonder what all this football-stuff will have to to with the new show…
can’t believe how he predicted the score of the last Man U game – that was unbelievable. If he does more predictions I’ll definately be betting on the result!!!
