As if getting battered by Liverpool wasn’t enough, Real Madrid got absolutely thumped by Barca in El Clasico today, with former red, Gerard Pique, scoring their sixth goal. A lovely finish!
This is the club Ronaldo dreams of eh?

I can’t blame him.
We may go through a shit patch in the future. would that mean we would expect people from britain to stop dreaming of playing for us? no of course we wouldn’t.
We also got humiliated 4-1 at home to the dippers.
God tells him that he is the ‘one’ that can take Madrid back to the top. I personally hope he sees sense after watching them get battered by Liverpool and Barca and thinks “they arent really the team they once were” but his ego is big enough to make him believe that he could make that team great once again… Its really if he wants a project or to win things
Difference is, against Liverpool we had to play our best team 2 days before the game and then come straight against Liverpool with a very tired team, Madrid had plenty of preparation for the game against Barce and still got thumped. Liverpool had the luck of fixtures when they came against us, don’t see Madrid being in for 5/6 trophies all season either, career suicide going there, really is.
Kind of besides the point if Ronaldo really does see Real Madrid as a team of his dreams – We could have said the same about Real last season (they were probably even worse then) and that didn’t stop him wanting to leave. I don’t know Ronaldo, but as an individual he has no obligation to see Man United as the team of his dreams. As long as he’s here he needs to give a 100%, that all we should expect of him. By this argument all fans should be glory hunters, and less successful teams should have no fans whatsoever.
Spencer, the difference is that at Real Madrid results like that and seasons like the one they are having result in draaaastic changes, changes in manager, club personnel, players, playing style, etc. United have been a beacon of stability for almost 30 years now.
Very funny though, Barcelona wiped the floor with them, they were pathetic. Watching that though, I hope Chelsea get a result Wednesday. Then again, it would be exciting to see how United would stack up against Barca.
And it might end up being ‘career suicide’ but its his career. And again, the question really is whether he really sees Real as the team of his dreams, or wants the move for money, a fashionable city, women etc etc…If its the former I would respect him even more if he goes to a woeful Real Madrid team than to a perennially successful one…If its the latter, then I would lose all respect for him. Its as simple as that…
God is planning to start him against Arsenal. It is obvious, since He rested him today.
I don’t think this result will change his mind on Real Madrid being his dream club. We all grow up with a certain club in our hearts, and in his case it just happens to be Real. But I do hope that this thumping illustrates to Ronaldo that staying in Manchester is the best thing he can do for his career.
btw I enjoyed watching Real ripped apart by Barcelona. But we could potentially meet that same team in Rome..
Lets not starting thinking about the final just now lads – we will cross that bridge on Tuesday – personally, no matter how good Barca are I would want to meet them in the finals. First, its going to make for a much better spectacle, and second if things go wrong in the final (assuming we make it) I could not take watching that cunt Terry lifting the trophy with our lads watching…So us vs. Barca in the final for me!
This is what Ronaldo has said recently:
“I’m no longer thinking of Madrid. That dream is dead. The only thing I dream about now is Manchester United and winning the Champions League again in Rome.”
As far as the final is concerned, i want Barca.I won’t feel bad about losing to them.
ronnie probably grew up idolizing real madrid, since Spain is really only the next country over. there is nothing wrong with him wanting to finish his career there, just like tevez wishes to return to argentina. ronnie has never sulked or refuse to play because of his desire to be in madrid (unlike berbatov at his final days with tottenham). big players as ronnie will always make headlines for statements he said or he didn’t say and there will always be speculations about him so long as the newspapers keep selling.
The really interesting thing about the game, well besides some of the sexy football Barcelona played, was how badly both teams defended particularly from crosses and set pieces. Real Madrid should never have been allowed to score the goals they did get and for their part Madrid’s defence was so slow and sloppy that you could’ve run a bus through it. It speaks volumes to me that Pique, who IMHO is about the same level as Johnny Evans, was clearly the best defender on the pitch. With such poor marking from set pieces and crosses will Barcelong be able to stop Chelsea, powerful set piece specialists, from scoring? Having watched the match I’m pretty confident it’ll be Man Utd vs Chelsea in the final.
Trophies vs no trophies… which will he choose?
Ron should realize Real are shite.they could have lost by 10 goals if not for Casillas. btw, Pique was the best defender out there yesterday.still sad we sold him.
I WOULD RATHER BARCA WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE THAN CHELSEA JUST INCASE WE DONT
Tiny tears will not have revenge on us if things turn out that way. Its us vs Barca on Rome for me too! But first, lets do Arsenal at the Emirates to shut up the ‘spitter’ whom Anderson shitted on!
Another day, another Ronaldo post… Are’nt there any other Manchester United players to talk about???
Sully – Do you not find that its always our best players that fans like to talk about?
In a way i wanted real to win to have an open league because i like them (except ours of course lol) But now i remembered ronaldo wants to go there…so his dream should be closed now.Barcelona are unstoppable in the league im sure they opened Ronaldo’s eyes.
United4Eva: “It speaks volumes to me that Pique, who IMHO is about the same level as Johnny Evans, was clearly the best defender on the pitch.”
Great point. But I don’t think that SAF rated them equally. He had to choose between them and went for Jonny Evans. Barcelona got a deal in only paying about seven million quid/euros (? – just about the same amount nowadays !) for Pique – he even plays for the Spanish national team. I thought that he was given back to Barca for about one-half of his real value which makes me wonder if there were hidden elements to the deal.
Pique was born and raised in that area I think, so his heart was to play for barca.
He was “stolen” from Barca’s youth academy when he was 16 – just like Fabregas and Fran Merida were stolen by TheArse. But that’s no reason why he should have been sold back to Barca at a discounted price.
I think Pique’s family were one of the founders of Barcelona? or something like that
I dont hold any grudges on selling him, he’s a great player but Johnny Evans is just as good
