First, well done to Robin and Wayne.

Second, Who the F*** puts together the World XI, a complete joke.

Third, who the hell even knew there was a Captain of the Palestinian Football Federation who is the only ballot to include Balotelli as the 3rd place nominee.

    JAYSUS WEPT

  2. FletchTHEMAN says:

Also, congrats to Roberto DiMatteo (former Chavs Boss and decent guy) and Sir Alex for coming in 5th and 6th respectively on the FIFA coach of the year poll.

Not bad for Sir Alex who didn’t win anything last year but still tops City in the poll by some margin! Ha!!

You can have a look yourself at the voting breakdown for all the awards.

  3. dMuzikManUnited says:

No doubt we’d be talking about a Ronaldo quadriple if he had stayed. Very sure he knows that too. RVP not in 11? Well maybe had to do with his former team.

  4. Costas says:

    Guardiola third. Lol. Joke awards.

  5. FletchTHEMAN says:

You find out the friends and fiends pretty quick when the votes are counted:

    via Rob Harris:
Messi didn’t vote for Ronaldo in Ballon D’Or – he went for Iniesta, Xavi, Aguero instead

Steven Gerrard’s Ballon D’Or voting: Messi, Ronaldo, Alonso

Who voted for Balotelli in Ballon D’Or? Captains of Austria, Laos & Palestine put him 3rd=3 points. 23rd in overall list with 0.07% of vote

Di Matteo 4th in FIFA coach of the year voting with 12.02%, Fergie got 5.82% despite trophyless 2012. Roberto Mancini 8th with 3.1%

@WayneRooney got 0.39% of Ballon d’Or voting – only English player in top 20

  6. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

LOL So Neymar is better than Rooney? Well that’s news to me.

  7. MJ says:

this is such a joke. how can guardiola, who only had half a season only, winning a national cup only, be ahaed of jürgen klopp, who worked the whole year, won the first double of his clubs history and topped a cl group containing madrid, ajax and the berties? fuck that fucking shit, who cares about that crap anyway? messi doesn’t give a flying fuck about winning that piece of shit 4 times in a fuking row.

  10. gaz says:

  11. kevin says:

these are the most unfair awards i have seen, what did messi win in 2012????? Ineista won EURO, Ronaldo won La liga. then Ronaldo was in man u but no video of his development was shown in his profile. from lisbon, the played Madrid yet this man u played a big role in his growth. A lot of discrimination from English football. there should be a problem with Platini, Blatter and the FA.

Note: Ashley Williams (Captain of Wales) is a sport. Votes Robin van Persie 3rd best player in the world after trying to kick his head off in the Swansea game.

    Good sport then? 8O

  15. FletchTHEMAN says:

To the surprise of no one, Howard Webb will referee United Liverpool.

He has overseen 16 matches this season issuing 59 yellows and 2 reds.

  16. ak47 says:

lol Fergie won fuck all last season yet still finished ahead of Mankini, it’s not just us that hates him, it’s the whole world!

  17. King Eric says:

Piss take of the highest order? Err there is football outside of Spain. Marcelo? Do me a fucking favour. Cole should be in there on his form last season. Fucking Pique and Alves? The former was injured for large parts and the latter is over rated to fuck. A fucking joke.

  18. TheCANTONA says:

imho messi deserves his award this time, his 91 goals surely not a “cheap” achivement.
that aside the FIFPRO list selection surely was a big joke. all players comes from la liga. Surely philipp lahm deserves a spot ahead of marcelo, pirlo ahead of alonso, chiellini ahead of pique.

  19. Dela says:

Ronaldo, come back to United, win the Champions League, win Ballon d’Or……….. but we all know it’ll never happen.

I would love a sneak peak to see where RvP comes for 2013 ;-) Messi and Ronaldo will still be #1 and #2 pretty much regardless of what happens though. Even if they won fuck all (impossible in that league for that to happen anyway…) and United won everything in front of them, they’d still occupy the top 2 spots.

Fergie’s positioning is fair considering last season’s repeated slip ups by United. First blowing the group stages, then crashing out of the Europa League, leaving the FA Cup in the 4th round, out of the league cup to Crystal Palace and letting an 8 point lead slip. A season worth forgetting except as a warning about complacency. Things looking better this season, lot of fight in our boys again and a lot of passion in Fergie out on the touchline! :-)

  20. Toms says:

Wow. Some … really weird ratings.

How Ramos is above pique “only god knows”.

  21. Costas says:

Another manager that got shafted big time was Conte. Won the Serie A title unbeaten. Pathetic La Liga wankfest.

  22. domunited says:

I’ve lurked on RoM for years and only recently started posting frequently. Over the last few weeks, I think I’ve gotten a handle on the temperaments of ye fellow United supporters. And you can be certain I’ll know a Gaz post when I see one, even without seeing the post author ;)

That said, I get why Messi won – his individual stats are insane and you’d be a liar twice over if you wouldn’t want him in your XI. I just think that the world’s best player should have been on a team that won something that year, that’s all.

  23. anderson08 says:

I don’t even know why we get worked up over these things, it’s fucking meaningless. Joke dare I say, but in all honesty, I would choose Ronaldo, he did great things with his club, and Iniesta as well, with club and country, Messi shouldn’t be nr. 1.

  24. tom c says:

Ronnie only lost because people voted for Ronaldo, Cristiano instead.

    BRING BACK FAIRNESS IN FOOTBALL

  25. tose says:

messi is the best ,christiano second ,andres third absolutly true ,the reality shows it ,no doubts at all

  26. WeAreUnited says:

“imho messi deserves his award this time, his 91 goals surely not a “cheap” achivement.
that aside the FIFPRO list selection surely was a big joke. all players comes from la liga. Surely philipp lahm deserves a spot ahead of marcelo, pirlo ahead of alonso, chiellini ahead of pique.”

@TheCantona exactly, I think this would have been reasonable, and also Rafael Alves had a bad season, so maybe someone else to the RB.

Skill wise, Messi is betetr than Ronaldo, not by much, but he is.
But stats wise, Messis only fair good achievement that isn’t a “little” one was the 91 goals. That gives him very many points.

  27. WeAreUnited says:

    In reality and stats wise.

    1. Iniesta won the EuropeanCup and was on of the best there, Casillas could have been there also.

2.Single handedly put Portugal threw into the semifinals

    3.Ronaldo won the league,

    3. Ronaldo won the Supercopa with his goals against Barca

    4. Ronaldo scored only 4 goals less than Messi in the League, 46 to 50

5.Ronaldo assisted 12 in the league. Messi 15.

    6. Finished the competition as the joint best scorer with three goals in Euro’s

    7. Messi scored 91 goals

    8. Messi won a spanish cup

    9. Messi Went out in the same manner as Ronaldo in the CL.

    10. Iniesta won a spanish cup

messi is the best, but this is the same as with Sneijder, he won the CL, won a treble in Italy and reached the finals of World cup. NOTHING.

Agains, Messi is the best, but achievement wise, WRONG decisions.

  28. WeAreUnited says:

    2. Ronaldo Single handedly put Portugal threw into the semifinals

  29. King Eric says:

    Ha. Gaz and “fagfa” Quality.

Deal. Hello mate. Oh absolutely Fergie and United losing the league last season has SERIOUSLY put the fire back in Fergie’s belly. Haven’t seen him this passionate for 2 or 3 seasons.

  30. fergie is the boss says:

lets be honest about shitty’s title win, it was never convincing, and always wobbly, united this season have looked far more confident, and before united’s collapse last season, they still looke more convincing than shitty, and if we do win the title, we will have beaten them on points. Shitty won the league last season, but they still could not beat united on points. Shitty were one of the most unconvincing champions I have seen since blackburn 95, and chelsea 2010

  31. fergie is the boss says:

so its no surprise seeing mankini voted so low, even though some of the contenders are a complete joke

  32. TheCANTONA says:

    @WeAreUnited:
yes, unlike in 2010, this time messi deserves it. his 91 goals guarrantee his award.
what with this “rafael alves” my friend? are u talking about our young rafael or just miss typed daniel alves? if u talking about our little rafael, imho he doesnt deserves a spot regarding his last season form (hell, none of our players deserves it). regarding dani alves yes it’s strange one. i dont know why people couldnt see how blatantly blatter and platini wank over la liga. how about philipp lahm on the right, and ashley cole being replacement for marcelo on the left?

  33. fergie is the boss says:

rooney deserves to be there, 42 goals in 2012 a very good return for a striker, obvious not the leagues over the boring duo that I am sick of, but still Rooney had a very good 2012

  34. TheCANTONA says:

    @FITB:
not really sure about rooney considering RvP and Falcao’s performance last season (won the europa league and tore athletic bilbao side who defeated us)

  35. zigoo says:

    the big question is

who da fuck voted for busquets as the best player in the world???
and lol at the guy who voted for rooney…
i love wazza and all but to put him ahead of messi n ronnie is just crazy!

  36. fergie is the boss says:

TheCANTONA – messi won has much as rooney last year, yet he has won it, and I know he scored 91 goals, but if we are judging on trophy’s won, CR7 should have won it, considering the type of side barca are hyped up to be, he helped Madrid win the spanish league

  37. TheCANTONA says:

    @FITB:
well im not really judging on trophy. if i do so how on earth i questioning alves, marcelo, pique spot on here?? because some of them won the league, some of them won european cup.
mate, messi won copa del rey last season, i know its a joke trophy but neverthless he won more trophy than rooney last season…

  38. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

LOOK a lot of us are getting this wrong. The world player of the year is an award given to the BEST and MOST VALUABLE PLAYER over a footballing year/season. Messi is without a doubt the best football player of the last 40 years in my mind. Nobody comes remotely close. He is just that good. BUT did he have the best footballing season in the 2011/2012 season? NO, he did not. Just a few of the people who had better years and who should be considered for the trophy.
    1. Didier Drogba – F.A. Cup, Champions League.
    2. Petr Cech- read drogba.
    3. Ashley Cole- Same thing as drogba.
    4. Iker Casillas- La Liga, Euros.
    5. Andres Iniesta- Del Rey, Euros.
    6. Cristiano Ronaldo-La Liga.

They all had more successful years than Messi did trophy wise. I can remember in 2007 when the race btwn Kaka and Ronaldo was close and many questioned why Ronaldo did not win any of the two awards, the answer that was given was because Kaka won more trophies (the Lge and European Cup double), Ronaldo only won one ( the lge.) So now when it comes to Ronaldo and Messi, the same rule should be applied.

But I knew Messi would win cuz looking at facts is no longer a part of football decision making anymore. It is whoever is the flavour of the moment that is picked. For example, how on earth is Xabi Alonso picked over Pirlo in team of the year even though Pirlo finished 7th OVERALL in Voting? Makes no damn sense. And there is NO WAY anyone can tell me that ANY of the defenders deserved to be in the World XI for their performances in 2011/2012.

  39. thekaizer says:

I have no doubt that if roles were reversed and it was messi that won la liga but scored 60 goals and. Was ronAldo that scored 72 goall but no cup, messi would still win. Just have a look at cassillas votes. A fucking joke. This shit is a popularity contest. Gutted for Ronnie, there’s nothing he can do to win it.

  40. King Eric says:

    Thekaizer. Spot on.

Good to see egg head cunt Graham Hunter with his tongue perennially up all things Barca. Even Sky are wanking over the fact the 11 is all La Liga based. The thick cunts can’t comprehend the team is a fucking joke.

  41. TheCANTONA says:

now if messi able to keep his performance this season, there’s very a big chance messi will win it again next year. how boring that would be, eh?

  42. TheCANTONA says:

hope we can win treble this season so we can erase this la liga wankfest next year….

  43. NBI Red Onion says:

It’s best player not most trophy competition/ best player to win a trophy.

No question, Messi is best. Ronnie, Xavi and Inesta for me are a tie at second. Third Falcao & RVP. Drogba and then Rooney/Tevez/Aguero.

It is a shame it is almost always a striker who wins, they should have best defender and best goal keeper as well, they never get a look in and putting them in the squad’s a bit lame.

FIFA team – joke squared. Wonder how much they got for that. Agree with above – Marcelo? Ashley Cole followed by Evra are the best LB’s in the world.

    Wingers?

Alonso better than Yaya Toure or Mata? Who would you pick?

Pique better than Vidic, Terry or Rio? He has been nothing great last 2 seasons.

Busquet better than a piece of shit? This is not a diving competition. Even then the shit would win.

  44. thekaizer says:

    @king Eric
Don’t even get me started on the fifpro11. How a defender that spent much of the year second fiddle to Javier the fucking dwarf macsherano is beyond me. I can name 100 defenders better than Marcelo and dani alves. And the only thing I remember Ramos for last year was sending a ball into fucking orbit. F now round it off with xabi Alonso is frankly laughable. These FIFA lot are a complete joke. No dobut Il be hearing from my Spanish mates at uni tomorrow of how great la liga is. Can’t wait till they go bankrupt.

  45. AlphaRS says:

Anyone know why United are looking for a new keeper?
Because £60 million +David De Gea are going to Real Madrid in exchange for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Remember you heard it here first…! Ha.

  46. WeAreUnited says:

    TheCantona

didn’t even get it :D I miss typed it badly, I guess it’s from my subconscious :D

yeah I meant Dani Alves! That was a strange one in that first 11. Alot of them are strange one. Maybe there’s Pique and Ramos and Xabi cause they won the european cup.

Some one said, it’s more of a popularity contest or politics, no more than the Eurovisu.

I completely agree with @dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT

And I will add my own, Messi is by no doubt the best player of the world, yes. But when you’re fair, ROnaldo is pretty close, so how do you separate these two lads?

With trophies! Look, 91 goals are amazing, just astonishing my any mean, and Messi is just a little above Ronaldo. But when you want to separate sometimes you need to check who won the most on that season.

    Stats wise

Messi: 50 goalss 15 assists -> 1 spanish cup -> in total Barca and Argentina 91 goals
Ronaldo: 46 goals 12 assists -> The League, Copa, Euro semifinals, joint top-scorer in Euro’s -> more than 70 goals.

20 more goals for Messi againts 2 trophies and the joint scorer in Euro’s.
This should separate them this year.

not worrying about it, cause Messi is 1 class above Ronaldo, but it’s unfair.

    Politics!

  47. Costas says:

Call me crazy but I doubt Messi would have had such a productive season if he was a Real Madrid player. That place is a nuthouse and it’s amazing Ronaldo has scored as much as he has.

    thekaizer summed it up best.

  48. fergie is the boss says:

Costas – I think ronaldo deserved it, it was a fantastic achievement seeing ronaldo help drive Madrid on past the so called greatest side ever, I find it hilarious how many think iniesta should win it, which would be an insult towards ronaldo, that if messi does not win it, hey just give it to the next great barcelona player. Many forget, its allot easier for guys like messi and iniesta, playing in a stable invirement like barca, different animal at madrid. I really hope united resign ronaldo, because clearly he is not wanted in Spain, and ronaldo can sense this unwanted attitude from spain and la liga

  49. WeAreUnited says:

    @fitb

my friend, I have to agree with you like in many things:P

we’ll see what happens when there’s an issue when we don’t agree haha

    peace

  50. WeAreUnited says:

    btw

    now we’re after muslera.

what a joke, it’s like pundits the media doesn’t follow us. crazy

  51. fergie is the boss says:

well we will disagree when i comes to nani and kagwa etc

  52. fergie is the boss says:

on that subject, I have no idea why united are linked with inferior keepers, reina LOL, serious media, they think reina is a better keeper than DDG LOL. Heck I think DDG is better than casillas reina cech and hart combined

  53. WeAreUnited says:

yeah I also think DDG is better than those, the only one who is maybe a bit betetr is Casillas, but that comes for his experience and achievements, which DDG will reach here and when he starts playing regularly for Spain.

Nani I guess with many people, but Kagawa? how so? and I am about to go to sleep but briefly.

My opinion is, he’s in his first season, he started well, got bullied and got injured. He came back very strong and has bulked up, his game against west-ham was not thay good, but the whole team was a bit asleep.
For example Silva struggled at his first season and now look at him. Kagawa is at the same page, and will flourish once he gets more playing time and partnering RVP and ROoney AND Nani :)

peace mate. of course sometimes we have t o agree to disagree, because it wouldn’t be fun anymore and thank God everyone has their own opinions, which I always respect, no matter how I “fight” them back, it doesn’t mean I am not agreeing, just that I see it differently.

Opinions can be changed :) it has happened to me.

  54. Bishopville Red says:

Never gave a shit about individual awards in a team sport.

    Still don’t.

    SB

  55. Boonma says:

Please please please. Why would all of you care so much about this. Every club in the world knows unless you are in Spain then only you will get to win it. Politics and rubbing sholders are part and parcel of this awards. This bodies are never in good terms with other bodies especially England and they are so many questions asked to how they fairly rate one player. God knows. How competitive is the spain league and how many goal messi can score against Real Madrid except scoring against 18 poor teams. Do we think Messi can score that much goals playing in England and will he get to win the awards ? GOd Knows.

  56. Segun says:

    Where was Ibramovic placed

  57. Wakey says:

Personally I think Messi is overhyped. Yes he has bags of skill but he is playing in what despite its plaudits is an awful league which allows him to score ridicioulous amounts of goals especially if you lay for Real or Barca. I mean Manucho who couldn’t even make it at United (and couldn’t even impress on loan at Hull) has only scored 1 less than Rooney, Berbatov and Tevez this season who are players he couldn’t dislodge (and has scored more than Welbeck and Kiko who are players he couldn’t beat to a place on the bench).

Ronaldo atleast has done it in another league that’s more physical and generally has more depth making it tougher to score such numbers. So personally until Messi grows some balls and plays in a league where he wouldn’t be able to score 90 goals a season even if he hacked his left leg off the. Ronaldo gets the edge.

Oh and as for the team. Some of the decisions are ridiculous made even worse by the Spanish bias. Ts as if they have forgotten to adjust their thinking based the quality and depth of the league when players in England, Germany and other nations had to work much harder to achieve what they did than most of the Spanish based players.

  58. Ash says:

I am a Ronaldo fan more than messi deep down I am happy that he didn’t win. Atleast now he should realise that he is wasting his time at real Madrid. The ultimate Insult for him would be when we knock Madrid out. Gone are those days where Real Madrid are best. They are just another top club thats it.

  59. shakshamboo says:

Its a voting process hence a person’s bias plays a big part. LOL Look at these,

Captain Wales Ashley Williams ****** Messi Lionel Xavi van Persie Robin
FFS, No Ronaldo! How biased can you get.
Media Wales Paul Abbandonato ****** Messi Lionel Cristiano Ronaldo Piqué Gerard
Gerard Piqué third best? what a joke.

Captain Georgia Kankava Jaba ****** Rooney Wayne Messi Lionel Xavi
Rooney Before Messi and Ronaldo. LOL.

  60. TobiasMUfc says:

The only such a biggest scum of politics against football ive ever seen in my life is FIfa, Plattini and that fucking Blatter, they are the worst scum in football ive ever seen.

  61. lordrt says:

we have to take note that rvp was with arsenal when he did his feats and now he has just started doing them with utd, and also that we need to win trophies to put our players and manager higher in the list next time
ronaldo however seems cursed after leaving utd, he did not get any ballon d’or since leaving and i think it is time he returns home to get another one soon after :)
how about those rumours concerning lampard to utd…?

  62. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

Can’t understand why anyone would vote for Ballotelli.
Apart from being a tit what has he done on a football pitch apart from a few goals here and there.
One of the most overrated players I’ve seen.
As for the awards I’d say they got it right. Ronaldo deserves it but Messi just that little bit more.

  63. gaz says:

    @King Eric

Glad you liked it mate. Fuck em bunch of corrupt pricks cant wait to dick those overrated Madrid Cunts, soon. RvP will pull ramos knob off and show it to him and cassilas whilst hes at it. stupid cunt hasnt had a proper haircut for 15 years.

  64. FletchTHEMAN says:

Morning Reds. Liverpool at the weekend ! Ah yes!

    Some stats to savor.

    Howard Webb STATS:
LFC will figure its their turn as Webb has overseen 2 United wins at OT since 2010, including the including the FACup loss where Gerrard got sent off in 2011.
Also, LFC have only picked up 1 point in the 3 matches Webb has overseen for them this season. 1 point in 9 then! They must be sick of the sight of him. HA!

We have never lost to Liverpool at OT when Howard Webb had the whistle
… that said, old Webby always seems to favor the home side as we lost 2 fixtures at Anfield under his eye.

Have only gone back to 2005. Might have missed something.

  65. FletchTHEMAN says:

PS We have only seen Webb once this season. He had the whistle in our 3-0 win over Newcastle.

  66. Pratyush says:

FletchTHEMAN is the new Costats =P

  67. #07 says:

Just seen this. How did Casillas finish 6th? Honestly. He’s a good goalie but he’s not had a stellar year and his ability on aerial balls is questionable. This actually goes to show that lobbying campaigns do work. All that early work Madrid did on their pro-Casillas campaign clearly did swing votes.

  68. AlphaRS says:

The simple thing is Messi is more of a likeable character and team player. Without Xavi and Iniesta playing with him he wouldn’t be quite so effective as we have seen when he plays for Argentina.
Ronaldo is has more of a petulant attitude and plays for himself and individual awards. He also has a team of individuals playing around him and tries to do things all on his own.
This all counts and is why Messi won The Ballon D’Or. Because he went to Spain he will always be compared to Messi. In 6 years at United he won x3 Premier League, x1 FA Cup, x2 League Cup, x1 FA Community Shield, x1 Champions League, x1 FIFA World Club Cup, along with many personal accolades. In comparison to x1 La Liga, x1 Copa Del Rey, x1 Supercopa de Espana.
Ronaldo should never have left United and his time at Madrid hasn’t been quite as successful as he had hoped. Had he stayed at United then we would have possibly been able to win more Champions Leagues. It’s a shame how it’s worked out for him but I can’t see him being able to make Real Madrid a more superior team to Barcelona.

  69. Marq says:

Kanoute, Forlan, Rossi & Manucho are just some examples of players who have made it big in Spain, but failed in England. How many players have come over from Spain & scored buckets of goals? Morientes was the only one who was close to a top scorer in Spain and look at how he fared? Torres was the odd one out, but now you begin to wonder if he was really that good or he had a prolonged purple patch.

Bottomline is, its easier to score in Spain, and that is a fact. So if Messi won purely based on his 91 goals, its flawed. It looks more like a personality contest.

  70. kk says:

@Gaz, you are one funny guy hehehehe. I am holding my laughter in the office. You even noticed Casillas hair cut hehehe and RVP to pull Ramos’ knob hehehehe

  71. Goat Peticoat says:

Feel vindicated for my ratting on Wayne Rooney and saying that he is a piece of garbage as a person, a shite passer in the last third and doesnt control the ball very well.
Only 0.09% of coaches thought he was the best player in the world
less than Busquets I might add.
Coaches know what they are talking about.

No doubt straight back in the team when fit, not that we need him – look at the results.

  72. Marq says:

Not the best player in the world doesn’t mean not a good player. Coaches know best? You might want to take a look at past records of the funny players who got votes before you take those puny percentages seriously

  73. Sparkz says:

@Goat Petticoat – his poor Euro 2012 and injury hit second half of the year had something to do with that.

But guess what? In last year’s awards, he came FIFTH……and he was named in the World XI

Not bad for a shite passer in the final third..

  74. FletchTHEMAN says:

#07 — The reason that Ronaldo was talking about not being happy, and maybe why he looked really steamed at the awards ceremony, is that Real Madrid president came out months ago saying the club supported Casillas for the Ballon d’Or. Obviously such statements are going to sway many voters and the result, while never in doubt, might have been much closer if a large percentage of Casillas votes were translated into Ronaldo votes.. The story of Reals corporate “lack of support” for Ronny has been brewing for months and is fueling alot of the Ronaldo move stories.

While the club came out later and backed Ronaldo, it is rumored that the “Spanish Camp” in the RM dressing room all backed Casillas > CR7.

  75. mara says:

For me, that award is a joke…

  76. samuel - united WE stand says:

Goat – it is a personal thing with you and rooney, don’t deny it.

  77. fergie is the boss says:

Wakey – any player who does what messi does is not over-hyped, if messi was at united, he would still score the same amount of goals. Messi is like ronaldo, not great at international football, put him in club football sides, he will rip sides apart. Do not forget, barca had a poor season last year, and he still was tearing sides apart, xavi iniesta and cesc had below par seasons, in and out of form. Also his performances against us, proved he is a special player

  78. WeAreUnited says:

    Messi overhyped???? what a joke.

For me the best thing to choose the best player of the world would be.

    1. Firstly pick only 10 players.
    2. After those players reduce it to 3-5 players, by a voting method or by trophies? just a suggesting.
    3. After that, Vote those 3-5 players
4.Instead of voting 23 players and being bias
    5. You are voting only 3-5 players.
    6. DIlemma solved.

People have voted for freaking Gerard pique, who’s not a bad player, but best in the world? never.

So instead of voting 23 players , captains coaches and the media votes only 3-5 players. therefore nobody would vote their favourite or friend.

We would really find out the best player. Instead of a friend voting for a friend or a fellow italian.

As for the best 11. I HAVE NO IDEA.

  79. WeAreUnited says:

@FITB my friend, I have to agree again hahah on the Messi issue.

btw. you never anwered to my question about Kagawa :)

    but nevermind.

  80. Robbie says:

After looking at who voted for who with the tactical voting and the blatant bias toward Spain/la liga/Real Madrid/Barcelona it’s obvious how meaningless this trophy is. Messi had a great year and scored a shitload of goals yeah great, it’s also about when you score them, and football is a team sport, all he won is the Copa Del Rey with the most talented team the world has ever seen, and failed to produce in the important matches at the end of last season (Champions league semi finals and the home match against Real Madrid where they lost 2-1). Ronaldo at points carried his team to the la liga which they won with a record amount of points and goals. I bet he’s pretty frustrated. Same with the manager award, Del Bosque has one of the best international sides ever seen to work with and other then Germany (who always flatter to decieve) no real decent teams to challenge them. Conte, Klopp and Di Matteo deserve it more in my opinion, considering what they have to work with and the level of competition they faced. The fifa team of the year was a joke as well, No Juventus, Chelsea or Dortmund Players? A strong argument could be made for Van Persie to be in it as well.

  81. King Eric says:

Wakey – I know mate. I watched Barca dismantle Sociedad or whoever it was on Sunday . Four nil up after 20 minutes and frankly the defending made United look like AC Milan of years gone by. It was diabolical. Shit joke of a league.

  82. King Eric says:

Call me heartless but summat is seriously afoot at Barca. Players and manager getting tumours and cancer and shit yet miraculously cured WEEKS later. I am glad they are well but fuck me they should pioneer medicine at that club. Never any injuries. Messi gets stretchered off in a game yet TWO DAYS later is banging goals in. When the whole Lance Armstrong scandal broke there were quotes that he had part of the same medical team. It will come out in years the Catalan cunts are all on drugs.

  83. King Eric says:

I have witnessed Messi in the flesh twice now and that night at Wembley he was fucking ridiculous but I do know where Wakey is coming from.

  84. Marq says:

Somehow my post didnt appear earlier. Here is the breakdown

    http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/ballond'or/playeroftheyear(men)/01/98/07/84/fboawardmenplayer2012-bycountry.pdf

Just to give some perspective to who are the voters. Its a no brainer if they voted for Messi or Ronaldo, and maybe to a lesser extend, Pirlo, Rvp and Inesta, all deserved some kind of recognition. Those who voted for anyone else is just taking a piss at the award. And for people trying to take the figures to play down certain player’s contribution just because some nut case put in a crazy vote for some totally undeserved player, that guy who compared just drank the piss

Come on, Ibahimovic, Drogba, Buffon, Busquets, Casillas, Benzema better than Messi or Ronaldo?

  85. WeAreUnited says:

    @Marq

they are not better, but to have 23 player to vote for me is ridiculous.

It should be 5 best players or 10 and to vote them.

Look at my post. Some put Manuel Neuer second and Özil third, how crazy is that, no matetr the country.

At least 5 players to vote. But how to reduce from 10 players to 5 or 3 would be the question.
I think with my example it wouldn’t be that bias, even though Messi had alot of votes.

    And won it.

  86. fergie is the boss says:

this is where I will stick up for la liga, look at how united were outclassed last year in the uefa cup, so its not all bad. Many should hold their hands up and say, barca are a damn fine side. If la liga was such a joke league, look at madrid’s performances in la liga, sides are able to exploit madrid. So I say its more to do with the standards barca have set, more so than poor sides. I think most sides in spain can give united a hard time, heck west ham have given united a hard game.

And PS, no way is messi overrated, not the type of performences he is giving, sometimes we got to just applaud and say, we are seeing the modern day best pele and maradona

WeAreUnited – sorry, sometimes I can be busy and disapear from ROM for a few days, what was the question

  87. WeAreUnited says:

    @FITB

exactly mate, people talkin like EPL is a one tough cookie, but Barca has exploited chelski, liverpool, arsenal and us TWICE in the Finals, so what’s the point of saying they are poor.

Look at them in the europa league, they shine there, that tells it all. Also we were exploited with westham. Football is football.

Barca just has set a standard that it’s hard to compete, you have t odefend your ass off against them and counter-attack and wich they are not in form. Don’t talk like spanish league is weak, their top teams i ngeneral ain’t bad.

SPL: Barca, R Madrid, AMadrid,Malaga, Valencia , Sevilla. Bilbao, They are good sides.
EPL: ManUtd, ManCity, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, , Everton. Liverpool.

Barca vs United -> barca has the edge 2-1

RealMadrid vs City -> Madrid has the edge

AMAdrid vs Chelski -> Falcao and Madrid has the edge

    THESE are facts

Malaga vs Arsenal -> who would win? at this moment, I would say Malaga. A tough call.

Valencia vs Tottenham -> Tottenham was second after Lazio in the stage of EL and Valencia plays in the CL and went through. -> who would win -> I would say Valencia .

Sevilla vs Everton -> Who would win -> I would say Everton
Bilbao vs Liverpool -> who would win -> Liverpool won their division in the EL and Bilbao went down -> I would say Liverpool

So one could argue and say, yes arsenal won barca, and chelski also. well chelski did it, but arsenal didn’t go through.

And in the CL, from 2007 or 2008 every team that has won besides Barca has had to win against them in the semifinals. Check it if you want.

  88. WeAreUnited says:

I meant look at them spanish teams shine in the Europa League :)

  89. King Eric says:

United didn’t give a flying fuck about the Europa League last season, that’s why we were outclassed by Bilbao. Christ have they even won a game since then? Nobody IS saying Barca are shit, they are a fantastic side.

  90. King Eric says:

Yes but since 2005 an English side has just about always been in a final or semi. 2005 Dippers. 2006. Arsenal. 2007 . Dippers. 2008. United Chelsea. 2009. United. 2010 No Spanish OR English side. 2011. United. 2012 . Chelsea.

  91. WeAreUnited says:

    @kingeric

why you taking it so personally mate.
and who talked about last season? I only mentioned this season mate.

Take a look at those comparisons, Barca has the edge, madrid has the edge, AtleticoMadrid has the edge. and the rest were only speculations and my opinions. I comoared the best of english againts the spanish. The spanish have the edge.

3 out of 8 mate, not bad. United 1, Milan 1, pool 1, inter 1. I understand what you mean.
From 2007 and on barca and United have been the mist oustanting sides in the CL. Unuted 3 times in the final and Barca won it 3 times ou of 8, which is alot.

And I made a mistake it was from 2008 and on so that you have to beat Barca to win it. And we know how hard is to win it twice in a row.

    2005 Pool
    2006 Barca
    2007 Milan
    2008 United -> Semi-final Barca
    2009 Barca / United
    2010 Inter -> Semi-final Barca
    2011 Barca / United
    2012 Chelski -> Semi-final Barca

    It tells you all.

  92. WeAreUnited says:

“United didn’t give a flying fuck about the Europa League last season, that’s why we were outclassed by Bilbao. ”

And this is just crazy claims. I t was more that we were outplayed in that game and we thought a team like Bilbao would be a walkthrough. How wrong were we. United didn’t want to win? cmon, you know it better than that mate.
You’re a true supporter, and know those claims are bias and not real.
United always goes for the win. SAf stood in the dressing room and said, let’s not win it, it’s not important. Well the money is important for business, and United is a business.
That’s why we brought RVP and Kagawa, so that doesn’t happen again! We’re no Arsenal!
Why did you even bring this up.

Like I said, I compared this season teams.

    peace.

  93. King Eric says:

We are United. Ha. I haven’t taken anything personally pal. Trust me Fergie was embarrassed being in that joke league hence his team selection. He wanted to be out of it soon as. I have watched Bilbao a lot since then and NEVER seen them perform like that since. Fergie said he wanted to win it, he has to say that. In truth he will have seen it as a total hindrance.

  94. WilliamAR says:

Got to say that world 11 is a complete joke. basically the top 2 teams making it look easy in a dog shit league. If you put RVP in the Barca or real side playing against the shit opposition they play week in week out i’m sure he’d score a fuck load of goals too, same with chicarito and many of the other top strikers in the premier league.

  95. WeAreUnited says:

    @kingeric

okey it could be. but I still don’t buy the thing losing in purpose, no matetr what. agree to disagree on this.

But you brought last year up, when I compared teams in this year and also in their previous battles for some teams, and you suddenly started talking about Bilbao.

That’s why I wondered your response. at the moment, and this is only my view of things, i’ll show it again, and everyone can do their own judgement, you just brought a strange thing up that it wasn’t related in this year:

THIS year, and I took Bilbao and Liverpool out.

SPL: Barca, R Madrid, AMadrid,Malaga, Valencia , Sevilla..
EPL: ManUtd, ManCity, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, , Everton.

-> who would win -> I would say ->Valencia . A tough call.

Sevilla vs Everton -> Who would win -> Secilla is struggling but they always pick themselves up -> I would say Everton

For me : SPL vs EPL 5-1 for me.

  96. King Eric says:

They are not facts mate. Its opinions!! I wasn’t actually just directing my post at you but Marq and fitb!!

  97. WeAreUnited says:

    @aa ok @king eric

    actually

these three I meant are facts, cause they have played against each other this year, only Barca-United, but 2 CL finals and one semi-final in the past future are good enough proof and facts for me.

    facts:

Barca vs United -> Barca has the edge 2-1
RealMadrid vs City -> Madrid has the edge
AMAdrid vs Chelski -> Falcao and Madrid has the edge

    and the others are OPINIONS.

Maybe I put the order wrongly. but now you know what I mean

  98. WeAreUnited says:

Sep 18 FT Real Madrid 3-2 Manchester City , CL 2012
Nov 21 FT Manchester City 1-1 Real Madrid , CL 2012

Aug 31 FT Chelsea 1-4 Atletico Madrid 14,312 UEFA Super Cup (2012)

and The Barca – United scores unfortunately we know.

Others were opinions, like these. You have seen my explanations, if you have read them due respect, like I read your opinions.

    Malaga vs Arsenal -> Malaga
    Valencia vs Tottenham -> Valencia
    Sevilla vs Everton -> Everton

  99. fergie is the boss says:

King Eric – I do not think we would steamole sides in spain, when we find it had to sop sides in england, I doubtt eading everton etc could do well in la liga, maybe just above average. Like I say, barca are just a step above the rest, and that is why they destroy sides. Because their dominating midfield, and ruthless aggression in attack, makes them that damn good. Until united get over the likes of scholes and giggs, we are going to be in dodgy waters at times.

  100. fergie is the boss says:

King Eric – let me resay this. I do not think we would steamrole sides in spain, when we find it had to stop sides in england who I find poor at best, I doubtt reading everton etc could do well in la liga, maybe just above average. Like I say, barca are just a step above the rest, and that is why they destroy sides. Because their dominating midfield, and ruthless aggression in attack, makes them that damn good. Until united get over the likes of scholes and giggs, we are going to be in dodgy waters at times, as I still do not think they have the legs to start games anymore

  101. Marq says:

Well, I don’t think its fair to say the La Liga is poorer, they have good sides. Just an opinion that goals are easier to come by over there, hence the crazy scoring stats of Messi & Ronaldo. And don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean they are bad, it just mean they are more attack minded. A simple look at the Clubs World Championship, and you will see that however ridiculously poor the South American teams’ defence that we make them out to be, they are still a force to be reckoned with

  102. fergie is the boss says:

Marq – the club world championship still saw chelsea fail to win it, heck they did not even score in the final

  103. matrixvampire says:

Fifa Team – Joke. Agree to everyone.
