Who Wants To Liveblog For RoM?

This season our aim is to have a liveblog running for every single game. Whilst I will be running some of these, attending games and other commitments mean I can’t do all of them.

Ideally I want to have a team of people who can take it turns to give the commentary for the games. I’m open to people from all around the world getting involved in this, as long as they are able to watch the game live.

If you are interested, get in touch using the contact form with the following information:

- Full name
- Twitter name
- Age
- Country of residence
- Any games you wouldn’t be able to liveblog (mid-week, early weekend, 3pm GMT on Saturday etc.)
- Links to any writing you’ve done before (A must if you don’t have a Twitter account)

Mats Daehli is for me one for the future, good vision, touch and playmaking.

Glad to see, that our future is secured.

    Gary Neville says:

“When I grew up watching Manchester United in the Eighties, sitting with my dad in the ‘K-stand’, where some of the most passionate fans would be, there were times when we left the ground and it was a battle zone outside. I vividly remember my dad having to shield me past fighting fans to get me away safely. But once we were in the car, it was never mentioned: it was all about the game. That was how football was and we accepted it. It existed in a ghetto, where behaviour that would seem totally out of place in normal society was tolerated.”

  9. YorYor says:

It’s a good idea for those who can’t pry themselves away from their PCs or phones during games… someone with iPhone and Siri might do well though, since they might be able to just speak into the phone and it gets posted, or something like that?

  10. TonyBee says:

if you have a decent ‘puter with fast enough broadband you can stream any Utd game…and have ROM on screen at same time for comments…..or if you have SKY ( i haven’t) or other means of watching UTD live

Scott, the obvious choice would be Giles Oakley.

  11. Ash says:

    WeAreUnited

Yeah we have some good youngsters in our academy and reserves but they have to get chance if they are to develop as a top players. Guys like Tunniclifffe,Petrucci,Brady,Lingard,Cole,MaCHeda etc should be loaned out so that they get playing time. I still cannot understand why is kiko not on loan. Same with tunni. Tunni is one for the future for us. No point if he bides his time with reserves. We need to start sending these youngsters on loan.

  12. DreadedRed says:

    Happy match day Reds!

Lets show the scousers just how wide the gulf in class between our teams and clubs really is.

    Come on United!

  13. Mike says:

Is today going to be that World War One Christmas moment when the guns stopped firing and a game of football broke out? Of course the truce was temporary but for a short time there was a mutual understanding and respect.

  14. DreadedRed says:

Sir Alex on LFC’s top-four chances:
“It’s hard [to break into the top four]. Liverpool – it’s a new regime and it might take time. The only place you can be now is that top four and this season you do expect Chelsea to be better than last year, Arsenal are better than last year, there’s no doubt about that and they’ve started the season very well and we are where we were last year with City. So I think those four will be the top four. Everton, of course, could do it – and they want to do it. Tottenham could – and they want to do it.”

Sir Alex on the rebuilding job facing 39-year-old Rodgers:
“I don’t know how they do it over there [Liverpool] but it’s very hard at any club. You have to have your own philosophy, your own beliefs. To go to a big club at a young age is difficult, it’s a hard job.”

Sir Alex on his treatment by the Anfield crowd:
“When I’ve been to Liverpool over the past few years to watch games they’ve been brilliant to me, the fans. They are joking and that kind of thing. I don’t get a bit of abuse. Different from when I go to Leeds!”

  15. DreadedRed says:

    ex huffingtonpost

‘Sky Sports will have reporters carrying electrical devices amongst Liverpool and Manchester United supporters in a bid to audibly record either set of fans airing unsavoury chants at Sunday’s Premier League encounter.’

  16. Diego says:

4 games in, no wins. Man utd coming to town, the cup final is here. They’ll raise their game as per usual and we will most likely be our unrecognizable selves (again). Our players just don’t like playing at anfield anymore.

  17. Hans says:

Our last few performances at Anfield have been utterly rubbish. First and foremost I hope our lads show up today. With good attitude and determination we’ll win this match!!!! We know they are always up for the match that represents the highlight of their season.

If there is a need for motivation, than we need Fergie to motivate players today more than ever. We are long overdue a win at Anfield.

  18. goatinaunitedshirt says:

The big day has come, will the crowd or wont they. Will Suarez shake Evras hand or will Evra keep his hand low. Will Fergie even pick Evra. Will Buttner shake Suarez hand or will the gypo try and sell him lucky heather.
Oh yeah the game, forgot about that. yeah come on United

  19. TonyBee says:

    Morning Goat….

  24. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    croweyp
You could do or you could be in with some long term United fans on here. Im not saying that fans from far and wide are any less United fans than those from Salford but here is the only place Ive been where they are included, a better mix of United fan.
Fuck Sky and fuck that australian cunt Murdoch. The ruiners of british sport.

  25. parryheid says:

I have a good idea of the team the Liverpool fans are praying we face them with,I hope not to see it.

  26. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

for the sake of the whole occasion I would just advice Evra to shake the man’s hand and get this over with once and for all. Please Evra don’t stretch this even longer. It’s gone on longer than it should have just shake the man’s hand. If he doesn’t want to shake you then stretch out your hand at least. Show that you wanted to set things right. COME ONNN BOYS!!!! We’ve got to win this one today.

  27. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    parryheid
Keep it to yourself then mate then we will all be non the wiser.

  28. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT
If Iwas Evra I wouldnt want to shake his hand. I would fully except Evras stance however it would probably mean the end of his United career should he fail to do so. The media furor over this behaving like christian soldiers and being oh so holier than thou means whoever makes the first ever so slightly inflamatory gesture (no matter how deserving) means the fans will ignite and the two clubs fucked inside out for something that has really been blown out of catastrophic proportions and echoed by quite a few bean flicker worshipping fans.
    In my opinion.
Evra – I wouldnt play him, not because of the Suarez issue but because he played midweek and Id like a rotation with Buttner. United often through youngsters into the furnace and it would be nice to see if he carries on from next week.
If he does play then like I said, Suarez is a racist and I think racism and the issues mean more to alot of people more than a football match or a football team. Its almost stupid that the Premier League believe they are bigger than the issue at hand.
Singing – So a commision says they are innocent of wrong doing and for the first time in our lives we are going to obey the findings of a commision and act accordingly. This really is a sad state of affairs.

  29. WeAreUnited says:

For me it’s the same to do a liveblog or not,

IF a liveblog accures here, then fine, but all in all it’s the same. It would make definately the blog better, but same for me.

  30. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

@goat There is no doubting the fact that Suarez did racially abuse Evra that day but considering the fact that ANY LITTLE THING we do to day that is even the slightest hint of anti-Liverpool even though it has absolutely NOTHING to do with Hillsborough will be taken out of context. I totally get what you mean when you speak about the singing and chanting. Just because a commission finds them innocent of something does not mean that we can’t hate them but we should respect those people who died at least and for the sake of those dead people and in the general feel of the moment. I’d just like if Evra could offer his hand to Luis one last time. For the record we know suarez is a nasty cunt and is the more likely to cause controversy cuz he has NO BRAIN but I don’t want any controversy from United players today. We should just go there, play our game and get out. NOTHING ELSE. We shouldn’t be making the headlines tomorrow for something other than actual football.

  31. WeAreUnited says:

Today the main word is respect for the dead, and as for taunting Suarez -> who cares :?

  32. fergie is the boss says:

I have heard there is no vidic

  33. parryheid says:

    goatinaunitedshirt.

I intend to but if you see the words fuck right off then youll know their prayers have been answered.

  34. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Liverpool choose the same team as they did against Sunderland;

    Reina, Kelly,Squirtle,Agger,Glen Johnson,Shelby,Allen, Stevie GBH, Borini,Sterling,Suarez

There is no Nemanja Vidic in the Manchester United defence – Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand are at centre-back. Anders Lindegaard replaces David de Gea in goal, Ryan Giggs is recalled and Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa are also in their starting XI.

  35. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

WOW. Our line-up looks um really weird and I don’t think I like the line-up. No de gea, No Vidic, No cleverley, Giggs is starting. We have only ONE recognized central midfielder in the team. Lord help us.

  36. Costas says:

Carrick and Giggs the duo in midfield. If we don’t need a new midfielder, why is a 39 year old starting today instead of Ando and Tom?

  37. TonyBee says:

dont worry Goat …all the plastics will be here in their fucking droves with their inane drivel ….had some of their fucking shit through the week regarding the dippers crying over spilt milk…..as if any real UTD would feel anything but contempt for them dipper bastards……

  38. utd_fc says:

    Lineup:
Lindy, Rafa, Rio, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, Van Persie

Where the fuck are degea and Vidic?!? I thought our captain was supposed to kick things off in the ceremony?!? Bullshit

  39. WeAreUnited says:

NO VIDA? wow, let’s hope our CB’s are in form :) no doubt

  40. lordrt says:

Why not go to soccernet instead, they have a gamecast feature with live commentary as well for everyone to enjoy free (for many games being played in the top leagues)

  41. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Fergie has lost his noodles….looks like the occasion got to him first

Kidding, what a terrible line up matches Liverpool’s pound for pound for crapness.

  42. T4M says:

WTF is giggs playing?!Fergie what the actual fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!! We’ve lost already. The old man never learns. This is fucking irritating!!!!Argh!!!!!!!!

  43. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    lordrt
Are you a wind up merchant

  44. fergie is the boss says:

T4M – why dont you actually wait until what happens, instead of bashing the boss, I would have had cleverly in for giggs, but shut the fuck up seriously

  45. Ash says:

Wow this line up is surprising. Now Where the fuck has Vidic gone. Now don’t say he is injured or he needs rest coz this is not the game where he should take rest. And the thing that I didn’t want happens , Giggs starting. Really I love Giggsy but he is starting ahead of Cleverley and anderson is not a good sign for those two youngsters especialy tom. Fuck cleverley is supposed to be our future and here we have a 39 year old winger playing in midfield. I still know we will win today but this is not the line up that makes me excited. I really hope we get 3 points and not lose this game.

  46. fergie is the boss says:

Clint-Iamyourpapii – good sarcasm, and I do not think ferdinand evans evra carick valencia nani kagwa van persie giggs are what you call crapness

  47. utd_fc says:

I have a terrible feeling something’s happened to Vidic. He’s not even on the bench. This is fucking ridiculous

  48. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

What happened to Vidic? Travesty I’m going mad jere

  49. Ash says:

It is nice to see the boss is showing faith in Rafael. Kid has come a long way. He needs games like this. Also happy NAni is starting. Lindegaard keeping is not a bad thing. We don;t want any kind of mistakes. Lets beat the scouse

  50. utd_fc says:

Giggs and Scholes do not need to be starting games FFS. This honestly is very frustrating. I’m already tense as fuck, no vidic is hardly making things better.

  51. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I didn’t mean crapness, I meant this line up is no better than Liverpool’s crapness.

    Evans-Rio vs Agger Skrtel

    Carrick-Giggs-Kagawa vs Gerrard-Allen-Shelvey

    Nani vs Borini

    RVP vs Suarez

    Lindy vs Reina

We’re pretty much matching them even though we have better players on the bench available.

  52. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I didn’t mean crapness, I meant this line up is no better than Liverpool’s crapness.

    TonyBee
I have no idea why we are hushing down because of a commissions finding. The last one was at a complete tangent to this ones findings. So now as observant citizens we are supposed to just forget everything before and take the word of some suit as gospel.
BOLOX The fans died, yes it was a terrible tragedi. Yes the police shouldnt have opened the gates, yes the grounds had been a worry for many a year previous BUT in no fucking way are the scousers blameless. It wasnt police horses crushing their own fans. It wasnt a box of unused seats that got up transformer style and crushed the scousers. It wasnt the chief exec of the FA with his belly full of Prawns and champagne who got up Godzilla style who crushed those fans. It was other scousers.
Yes I feel sorry for the fans that had legit tickets and arrived on time without a belly full of ale but they have had their funeral. They have been remembered with respect. The fans that are left, the fans that can get hurt by the songs and chants ARE THE FUCKING MURDEERDS. And we are supposed to wash under the carpet and make them feel better about themselves because of the decisions of a prawn munching champagne drinking suit. Bullshit. The scousers arent the NAZIS, 6 million people and forgiven after 15 minutes.

  54. WeAreUnited says:

yeah the game hasn’t yet played so let’s be patient.

But I am indeed with the same opionions that Cleverley should get the nod now, he been a England 11 a starter and when he comes here, he finds himself subbed.

Anyway let’s hope Giggsy has a great match!!!

  55. goatinaunitedshirt says:

Sorry the big text in the middle should read
    MURDERERS
^p.s wasnt spelt wrong to begin with so I could write MURDERERS again, honest
    ;)

  56. dazbomber says:

I think I must be old school but I want to beat Liverpool more than any other team. They will try there bollocks off today it will be hard to win but we a due a win and i think we will get it.

  57. Red Robin says:

Can someone shut that Fowler cunt mouth? How can he insisted that Hillsborough chant should be banned? Which chant was he trying to refer to Hillsborough? There was none as far as I’m concerned.

  58. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    As for the team
Lindegaard over DeGea is spot on
Worry about Vidic but he has a habit of red cards in this match but I doubt thats the reason why. Any news on an injury?
Half surprised Evra was picked. I suppose we’ll get to see pretty early on how the crowd and the game will pan out. My guess, they will shake hands but the mancs will shout racist and then it all kicks off.
    Im happy with the team

  59. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Vidic is rested….I don’t question fergie but LOL

  60. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Clint-Iamyourpapii
Are you a retard – with the greatest respect of course.
    you say
    Evans-Rio vs Agger Skrtel
    Carrick-Giggs-Kagawa vs Gerrard-Allen-Shelvey
    Nani vs Borini
    RVP vs Suarez
    Lindy vs Reina
I meant this line up is no better than Liverpool’s crapness

    Un-fucking-believable
Evans is a quality CB who has passing issues but has shown fantastic strides including snuffing out Spain playing for NI. Rio is the best organising CD of his day.
Agger is a slogger, possitional sense is woeful and is no better than Hypia before him. Skyrtel is a twat, a clueless red neck twat, shaved head and tats and hes good. omg
Suarez has a bit of class but by no means is he a finnisher.
Gerrard is a struting prick who has a fantastic PR team that has got him work when really hes shit. Shelvey is a donkey. Borini is a joke and isnt a player for the top half of the table. Carrick is the best zonal DM in the world. Kagawa is a fantastic link man and Reina gets distracted by baloons.
Your ideas about football took a nose dive with that comment.

  61. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Clint-Iamyourpapii
Its probably because of his two red cards against them and the fact its difficult to match Suarez for pace. You have to send a message to your players that if they get needless red cards then when the same important career fullfilling games such as this one is played then you will be dropped. Maybe we will have difficulty without him but for the long term and how the players are taught to behave and conduct themselves this will be remembered for years. He is the captain afterall. I applaud the decision.

  62. Red in Taipei says:

Tense over here – but confident! United! 19

  63. The Devil in Me says:

Had that sinking feelin giggs would start….i just prayin it works out(somehow i doubt it)

  64. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Are you fucking cunt?

  65. parryheid says:

Fuck right off with that team, turned out even better than their prayers we have opened that big fucking hole down our lleft hand side again for what Political correctness.Fuck it.

  66. Keyser Soze says:

    Jonjo Shelvey…what a cunt

  67. belfast red. says:

Happy fucking days lads. :) what a gr8 day. The bitterz getting beat would top it off.

  68. ji sung says:
