    the lucky fella.

  4. aig alex is god says:

wayne rooney man of the match.which match were the people who made this decision watching

even wazza admitted it was one of his worst performances ever for the club

  5. Micky says:

Berbatov has by FAR been our best player preseason

Wish he’d do the same for my Football Manager team though, he’s close to being dropped!! haha

    wtf

on leave till 17th.thats one heck of a holiday.enjoy mate.

  7. Sadique says:

    VALENCIA played the best…

  8. Micky says:

    @AIG

Haha, but on the 17th Aug I’m back to doing 5am – midnight days!

  9. Micky says:

    @Sadique

No offence, but you’re off your tits

Valencia did nowt except one run that was lucky enough to squirm in, and one or two decent runs.

People are just jumping on the bandwagon before he’s even had a chance to show what he can do.

you have to agree with sadique, valencia played the best in that match.wasnt afraid to take the defenders on and the whole team was poor in the 2nd half.

of course, this was just a friendly but the signs are promising.we have a good winger who is not afraid to take on defenders and has great pace a nd a ferocious shot.

as for berba, high time he starts proving himself.i m sure he will

  11. Micky says:

    @AIG

Maybe I’m too hard to please because I was the same with Tevez and Berba, but I’m never impressed with a few good runs in one game. He needs to do it week in and week out.

I didn’t think he was the best player at all, he looked sharp at times admittedly, but never THAT great.

  12. aig alex is god says:

    @micky

he was playing after a long time so some amount of rustiness is bound to be there and has played just one game and sme time against bayern so we will have to give him time

he will be first choice on the wings along wid nani.nani is looking good and has shown some improvement.

  13. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

Wayne Rooney is the best player in the world in my opinion

  14. aig alex is god says:

    ghtt

    good morning mate.

i wud disagree wid u there.he has bags of potential but frustrates me sometimes to see a player who can score wonder goals missing one on ones and sitters.

he has to score consistently rather than scoring 6 in 6 games and then disappearing for next few games.also he does not score enough in big games.

  15. Oooodz says:

Hahaha I’m such a gimp! I said Michael Rensing ^_^

  16. bigphil2003 says:

    Well done Scott Bennett!

Off topic: Yahoo have a poll up on who is United’s greatest ever player – Ronaldo is currently winning :|
What’s even more surprising is that Giggs is the only player from the 99 squad even nominated! No Keane, no Schmeichel, no Scholes!

  17. Anon says:

no Schmeichel? wtf?! screw that poll then@

If we had a poll at RoM as to who our best player ever was/is, i guess the list would go something like this (This is of course excluding the Babes)

    50% Charlton
    30% Cantona
    15% Best
    2% Giggs
    1% Keane
    1% Schmeichel
    0.9% Becks/Scholes/Neville
    0.1% Ronaldo

  18. King Eric says:

Ronaldo winning? He aint even close. Anon you may be closer but what about Robbo and big Norm?

  19. theboogeyman says:

Wouldn’t you put Law in that list as well,Anon?
Also,I think that is a list of our favourite players, not our best.

  20. mancaroon says:

@ anon, no robbo? no law? no hughes? no irwin?

Scott, hows about running a poll on best united players whilst the news is slow…….keep people occupied.

  21. Micky says:

Duncan Edwards was on his way… he’d be top of any list if he’d had his full career :(

  22. MUFC the Religion says:

Giggs is United’s greatest ever player.

I’d put Keane higher up in that list. Apart from Giggsy and Cantona, Keano is the Premierships best ever player.

  23. Marley says:

    rooney was fucking horrendous!!!

  24. Manutd forever says:

Why the fuck does hughes have to talk out of his arse every now and then . The Tevez virus is spreading and fast . Can’t believe one of our legends has to come out with this rubbish every now and then.

  25. Debrabs says:

Hughes might have been a top player, he might think he’s right in saying other managers use mind games because they never were top players.. one thing Hughes will never be though is a top manager

  26. HuSsAiN says:

    well done scott. congrats.

  27. jespermoses says:

I would have Bryan Robson in the ‘best player’ ever.

    He was my boyhood hero.

But I think Giggsy has to be up there for all the things he’s won.

  28. jespermoses says:

Gary Birtles and Ralph Milne have got to be in there too.

  29. King Eric says:

JesperMoses – Birtles and Milne!! Fucking hell. Joking aside though mate, Robbo was my boyhood idol as well. A proper box to box midfielder who always gave his all and got fucking stuck in even if it resulted in injury after injury. Back in the day I actually liked watching Ingerlund and was absolutely gutted when he had to come home from Mexico 86 AND Italia 90!

Also how good was it to see him score against France in 82 in 27 seconds!

  30. King Eric says:

Jesper – Furthermore I liked him that much that I always got my old dears to buy me not Nike, Adidas or Puma boots but New Balance.

  31. bchilds says:

    Congratulations!

  32. Bishopville Red says:

    Thanks all!

My top United players would be

    Best
    Charlton
    Cantona.

But Robbo is my all time favourite, followed by Keano.

    SB

  33. Tom F says:

    I went for Riquelme!
