VfL Wolfsburg vs Manchester United
Date: Tuesday 8th November, 2015
Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg
Manchester United head to Germany on Tuesday likely needing a win to progress to the knockout stage of this season’s Champions League.
Victory for the Premier League side would see them win the group but anything less would see them eliminated into the Europa League should PSV Eindhoven beat CSKA Moscow at the Philips Stadium.
A win is the only result that would guarantee the German Bundesliga side win the group though a draw would assure progression.
Louis van Gaal’s side won the meeting 2-1 at Old Trafford back in September but have only taken one point from their two away games in this group. Wolfsburg have won both of their home games to nil.
Target man Bas Dost is the Wolves’ top scorer but Max Kruse could be the key up front for the home side with the German forward in fine form of late. However, no Wolfsburg player has scored more than once in this season’s competition.
Andre Schurrle and Julian Draxler are two other attacking players United need to take care of.
Manchester United have been excellent defensively for more than a month now but going forward and creating opportunities has been a big problem for them this season.
This is a game United cannot play for the draw in but you can expect van Gaal to be cautious for at least the first half, not wanting to concede a goal.
Wolfsburg aren’t the team they were last season with Kevin De Bruyne and United have the quality to win this one. We’re not the only ones predicting a United win: http://bonuscodebets.co.uk/resources/champions-league-prediction/ – what do you think the result will be?

Centre-back Robin Knoche is out injured for the home side.
Luiz Gustavo is a doubt with a back problem for the German side but the former-Bayern Munich man could be recovered in time to protect his back four in this one.
Fellow countryman Dante is suspended for the weekend’s clash with Borussia Dortmund so will be well-rested ahead of this one.

The English side’s injuries mainly revolve around defence. Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones won’t be back in time for this whilst Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia are long-term injuries. Chris Smalling should be partnered by Daley Blind in the centre of defence for this one and Ashley Young could play at full-back again.
Ander Herrera is also out through injury, whilst Jesse Lingard and Wayne Rooney should both be fit for this one.
