hi-res-ad65ac4853f372ff74482b3f05cef9c7_crop_northWith a month until the transfer window closes, reports from Spain claim that Barcelona’s Gamper Trophy Match on August 5th will be Pedro’s last game for his boyhood club.

Luis Enrique is still not happy about the transfer going through, particularly not before the Super Cup final on August 11th, but that the transfer will happen regardless. The finer details still need to be worked out though, so Sport, the Spanish paper based in Barcelona, claim that Ed Woodward is flying out next week. A figure of £22m has been agreed already but they now need to hash out how the fee will be divided. United want to pay a lump sum with variables based on trophies won, while Barcelona are keen for the extras to be dependant on the number of matches played. Sport claims this won’t cause too many problems though and will be easy to resolve, as both parties are keen to push through the transfer.

Personal terms have been agreed between United and Pedro already, with him being offered a five year contract that pays better than his current salary with Barcelona.

Further confirmation of the deal has come from Jaime Lorenzo, president of San Isidro, who were Pedro’s first club, who reveals he was in contact with Pedro’s mother.

The other day, Pedro’s mother told us he was leaving for England. I think it would be a good challenge for him and he will have more playing time. We will send him a gift!
