I know he wasn’t in the Prem but the biggest diver of all time must surely be Franny Lee at Maine Road in the 60s (and before that at Bolton)? He dived so often he had permanent skid marks down the front of his blue shirt. Maybe that’s why he became a toilet paper merchant after he retired.

Hi everyone. Aren’t those results a thing of beauty? I am comfused about Klinsmann though. I thought he only dived as part of his celebration and otherwise was a clean player. So if you take him out of the equation, the biggest diver is our beloved Stevie Me. What a great servant he has been to the sport of diving.
I know you guys are not too familiar but the buggest divers i have ever seen are 2 Greek players. Karagkounis and Stelios(from Bolton). Fucking disgraces.

To be honest GHTT i didn’t know the background story to Klinsmann’s celebration. I was also naive back then and i didn’t recognise when diving took place. As far as Ronaldo is concerned, he went to ground taking advantage of the slightest contact. But did he ever 100% dive without anyone touching him? I can’t recall that. How about Torres? Mourinho once called him a diver.
Stevie Me is a fucking cunt and his wife’s a dirty slag. While he’s diving for Liverpool two gangsters are muff diving his missus.
I am a beleiver that players are trained to win free kicks. In my view winning a free kick in certain circumstances they end up diving to a degree.
It pisses me off when i see the replays and the attacker is already going down before the contact is made but it is part of the game.
Rooney won a Pen against Arsenal on Saturday and i do remember him wining another Against Arsenal a good few years ago where there was contact with Sol Campbell.
The ones that leave a bad taste in my mouth are obvious 100% no contact dives, or when a player is diving they are kicking out with their leg looking for the other player to show there was contact!
For me Referees have the main job of stamping this out.
1 – Spot the obvious Candidates!
2 – Where a player is fouled and stays on his feet. If that player gets off a shot or a pass which the contact effected then give a free kick or pen!… Play advantage and say .. He would have got his shot away cleaner if he wasnt bundled down!
Example of Number 2! Rooney time and time again struggled to stay on his feet, On one occasion the defender was all over him and he stayed and flicked a shot wide and fell from the defenders interfeerance!!… If the defender was challanging legaly he would have blasted home! – What did the ref do?? Nothing .. No pen because he managed to get the shot away.. What would have happened if he had fell and not shot? 100% pen!

The only one i would argue rooneys case for would be the Blackburn one, his foot was taken. It stoped him from getting to the ball. Yes he could have stayed on his feet, but the ref would not have been smart enough to say – You impeeded him, Its a foul…. What rooney did was, Look i have had contact, Its stopped me getting to the ball. I have to fall on the ground to help you out as your blind!
I am a complete united fan, and some of these rooney has dived for!… The majority of players do it! Every team has 2-3 players who dive.
I think rooney has matured more now and in gerneral does not do it. But i am 100% sure if he gets any contact at all he will go down.. And for me! Quite rightly so!

Apart from the odd stevie starfish dive…I also dislike the way that the guy feels that he has the right to tell referees when its ok for them to send someone off. Commentators and the press in general are opposed to (foreign) players who wave an imaginary yellow card. Yet St Steve is ‘just having a captains word’ in their eyes when he reminds the referee of many yellow cards someone has had.
On Saturday for example, he shoved Lucas out of the way to tell the official of what he thought of the tackle that ended up with Davis getting sent off, as if his protest carried more weight than those of that useless cunt Lucas. Davis only clipped his heel it wasn’t a dangerous tackle so what else could he have been saying to the ref other than send him off – I’ve seen him do it time and time again and no one on the TV or in the press ever seems to mention it. He’s not the only one who does it but its still not a sporting way to behave – just like he thinks he can tell bar staff what music can be played in their bar, he also like to tell referees how to do their job!
