Ashley Young has reflected on his move to Manchester United, following the 1-0 win against his former club Aston Villa at the weekend.
“They don’t come much bigger than Manchester United,” said Young. “I have always had confidence in my own ability and the club had enough confidence to sign me. I know quite a few players through England, so I settled in straight away.”
Young has been used on the left wing as well as behind the striker but he insists he is happy to play anywhere for United.
“I don’t have a favourite position. As long as I am in the team I am happy. The modern-day footballer has to be versatile.”

Man Utd News 24/7

I have the impression United are putting Ashley Young to speak for the club more often to enhance his self-belief, that he’s a Big Player , at a big club. He started the season so well before his injury but since his return has seemed more restrained and tentative and needs to have the confidence to run at defenders and cut loose. He was getting there at Villa, without ever quite finding his turbo-charged feet. With all the injuries he could be a key player over the next few weeks.
Sir Giles is in the house, cannot say much more…
Such an honor
Hope you’re keeping well old man
Except for City.
If (God forbid) something goes wrong tomorrow, at least Berbatov won’t get the blame…
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/06/dimitar-berbatov-manchester-united-basle?
Costas please dont start the whole Berba debate I cant be bothered today
@Costas
Bet your glad the smiley appeared after your comment!
But I suppose “Massive” is larger than “Bigger”?
Seriously though, it’s OK having confidence in your own ability but sometimes it’s having the realisation that something isn’t working and perhaps swapping positions with someone else for a while.
Giggs, Nani & Ronaldo used to do it quite often but not sure we do it as much these days, which may be under orders I suppose.
Might just be me looking for reasons to get back to our early season form!
Confident about the Basle game though, when the chips are down we always seem to get the job done.
I’m fine Cedar’s, young fella, thanks. Just had one of my regular blood tests, all stable and contained, so that’s a relief. .
As for Young v City,Costas, it has been little commented on but City targetted him for ‘treatment’ right from the start, with two wild tackles from Micah Richards (showing what a liability he’d be for England) and two more from other players, all in the first ten minutes or so. The ref should have cut it out but took little action , and Young faded from the game, mission accomplished by City. I suspect Ashley has that failure somewhere at the back of his mind.
Sir Giles
I am NOT that young! hahaha Just glad to hear that you are in good health, that is the important thing here
Excellent buy who will more than pay his way at United.
Centre shot, a legend and a warrior… Walking in front of a twunt.
One day the twunt will be crushed, like crisps under bison and the warrior will be in control and give the twunt a lesson in class and dignity that the twunt will never understand.
Great talk from Young Ashley though. He’ll be fine.
Oh and…
Breaking News!!!
Manchester City release new web browser that claims to be the safest in the world…….. having no history to delete at all.
@Giggs12
Me neither mate. And that’s the point of it. No Berba debates this week.
@Collyhust
Heh, a smiley was always going to follow a comment like that! They won’t be bigger any time soon. There’s a very long way for them ahead until they win 19 titles.
Could be a host of reasons why the team has dialed down its attacking play since the start of the season. One of them could be Cleverley’s absence, but the truth is that most of our attacking players haven’t been playing well in recent months. Imo it’s just a case of rediscovering our form. Hopefully it won’t be too long.
@Giles
Hi Sir. Nah, I was just joking about Young’s comment about no one being bigger than United. Even though Ashley is currently struggling to regain his early season form, I thought he did ok in the City game. Mind you I’ve blocked large portions of that game out of that mind, but Young’s performance seemed typical of someone playing a game of this magnitude for the first time. Not great, but not horrible either.
I wonder if AntiScouser will be on here to offer his ‘opinion’ on Young.
Massive game tomorrow we need to see the same team that tuned up at Villa, Looking forwward to seeing Roo and Danny boy lpaying alongside each other.
It’s one thing to talk-the-talk, it’s another to walk-the-walk. Ashley Young started out like a house-on-fire but injury and ??? has reduced his role/impact.
His performance in the match against his former club, Aston Villa, was dire – it wasn’t just for tactical reasons that he was subbed off.
I was sceptical of this signing – won over too easily at the start of the year. Now, I’m back to being sceptical – his one-footedness worries me. Right now, I’d prefer to see what Ravel Morrison can do in the left-wing/midfield role; and if that doesn’t work out then I’d give playing time in that position to DannyTheLad when Chicharito returns from his injury.
Currently – based on recent performances – neither Ashley Young nor Antonio Valencia should be starting ahead of the kids.
We musnt forget that young came from Villa, he is a good player who just needs to get used to playing for the champions coz there is definately more attention from opposition defenders. Everyone raises their game against us so Young is only finding out how tough it can be e.g against City.
@kanchelskis
I wonder if you will ever insert a “brain” in your skull.
Well at least we know it’s the real AntiScouser. Or a very good impostor. Last post was pretty much at his level of intellect.
Hmm… 22 man squad and Larnell Cole in it.
I expect to see him around the 75 min mark with United leading 2-0 / 3-0.
@kanchelskis
That level being the 99th GB population precentile. As I am the more intelligent of us two, I will refrain from further commenting your childish remarks.
Pick on someone your own brain size. Or, even better, don’t pick on anybody.
After the shambles of the Palace game, most fans would not remotely entertain Diouf or Macheda near the first team again for some time – if ever.
SAF has decided on a totally different approach and taken them in the squad to Basle.
If that doesn’t demonstrate him showing absolute faith in his players, well, don’t know what will.
Lets hope they repay his faith if called upon.
Denton Davey
Yeah if you want the arse to drop out of our game Sling in the some distance away from first team capabilities kids.That will put things to rights.
We should chose a RoM Ranter of the Year, and bobbycharlie1968 would be my worthy choice.
I’d also nominate Kings and King Eric in this category.
Also, a RoM Personality of the Year, to which I would nominate WillieRedNut and Fred, and
chose CedarsDevil as hands-down winner!
Finally, a RoM Sage of the Year. Many excellent experts to chose from. I would nominate
Paul Parker and StatesideAussie, and chose King Eric as United Luminary par Excellence!
ps No space for Giles and Scott, although we would do well to have a whip-round, and get a token of our appreciation for their hospitality. Who’s in?
John Motson talks about Socrates and that 1982 World Cup that was discussed the other day. Not sure if this is viewable outside the uk.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16052191.stm
Sir Giles, glad to hear about your latest check up. My dad has come through the same thing, also with flying colours. His Specialist always asks if he’s kept up the pumpkin seed intake. He swears by them.
@It’s in my blood
I must say that my faith in Diouf has been shaken, but Macheda is still a very promising striker imo. I thought some of the reactions after the game were quite knee jerk considering how much football Kiko has played this season. At least Sir Alex realized that.
@smartalex
Good idea, but you could refine it even further. Why don’t you organize a twelve-day-egomaniacle-self-absorbing-ROM “regulars”-festival where you would, among other things, hold conferences on the subject of how each and every one of you is fab to the bone, pray for your fantastic circle never to be broken and whisper benign things in each other’s ear.
Or you could just organize a huge orgy for “the regulars”. It would satisy everybody, especially kanchelskis.
I think you guys are being a tad harsh on anti-scouser…he has been posting on and off for some time. A lot of us liked bobbycharlie’s post, he didn’t, big deal between him and bobbycharlie…fuck it all, I say – can’t be arsed to be honest
And just as I said it, Anti-scouser, I do believe that was uncalled for…
@Costas
Hi mate, I suppose the same can be said of both of them regarding the lack of playing time.
If theres one thing certain, it’s that their confidence would probably be shattered forever, if ,
having put in abysmal performances and been slated by the press and fans, SAF also showed he’d lost faith.
I can’t see either starting the game but being taken in the squad must do some good.
Having said that, over the years the Great One has surprised us with his selection too many times for us to assume one or both won’t start.
Whoever gets the nod, pride in representing United is essential.
@kanchelskis
As I am the more intelligent of us two, I will refrain from further commenting your childish remarks.
_________________________________________________________________________
Haha. So intelligent you can’t insert a two-letter word like ‘on’ where it’s needed?
Fucking hell Einstein, don’t get bogged down here. You’ll be late for the Mensa olympiad!
@Jeet
I’m not asking for recognition. I just want to be able to voice an opinion without getting told off with silly remarks from people who, let me cite this, “would never attack a fellow United fan”.
I will repeat what I said earlier: It’s disturbing to see a group of adults (presumably) succumb to a type of primitive groupthink.
Google “groupthink” if you don’t know what it is.
@kanchelskis
Lapsus calami, google it.
Well said Ashley, now keep playing well and you’ll be piling up the medals in no time, hahaha!!
@AS
Latin for ‘slip of the pen’…
Hold on. You use a pen on your keyboard? No wonder you post so much spaff. You’re just supposed to use your fingers, silly!
Love your preffered last line of argument though… ‘Google it’. The hallmark of a true intellectual heavyweight. We are not worthy.
http://www.theunitedreligion.com/2011/12/are-all-of-these-injuries-more-than.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheUnitedReligion+%28The+United+Religion%29
This argument is getting more difficult to ignore by the day! Our players are a bit soft. You have to hold your breath if the likes of Rafael , Chicharito and I dare say Welback go into a sliding tackle. If the world class equipment isnt doing the trick they must supplement it with the good old hard graft on the pitch. Our lads need to toughen up. I cant imagine how I and all other reds would feel if in the next two games we so Rooney clutching a hamstring. A sight that is beoming too familiar in Utd games. We would be left with Diof and Macheda.
BayoRed
You beat me to it, i was just about to link it FAO Costas!
@kanchelskis
I don’t know what your mental age is, but the level of abstraction and mental flexibility you’re expressing is abysmal.
Perhaps Romans had a word for keyboard?
@AntiScouser
To put it in your language (except with correct grammar)…
Lapsus clavis. Google it.
@kanchelskis
Thanks. Didn’t know it.
AntiScouser
Thanks for turning my well-meant suggestion into your personal joke material. Nice.
@AntiScouser
No worries fella
Phil Jones, Always giving the impression he’s leading the pack
Jeet – I have also stuck my neck out for some of the wum that seem well-intentioned. They never fail to disappoint you, and usually your words aren’t cold before they’ve been shattered.
kanchelskis, yield! There stands a man against you, who’s intellect is inversely proportional to the scouse mentality. Genius no doubt, and expect him to throw stuff away.
@kanchelskis
Can we go on normally from here, now that you know I can be polite?
i just came to see if antiscouser was ever going to make any constructive comment about the club or team. Even Moses managed some fair points from time to time.
@AntiScouser
Sure… as long as I’m not forced to pick ‘sides’.
united players need to talk less and concentrate ore/perform on the pitch, it’s all good young blowing his own trumpet but he has dipped in form for a few games now, needs to step it up because i’m afraid, the jury is still out on him.
@james21
I might even consider that if people here stop insulting “nonregulars”.
AntiScouser
Your compelling anti-scouse sentiments make you an appealing and welcome warrior.
Puerile dissension in the ranks however, is rued with a steely riposte. Why not play nice?
@AntiScouser and @kanchelskis
Smile and wave boys,smile and wave. or in this case, hug and wave
antiscouser. Think u started it mate. U even managed to piss me off.
@smartalex
I said I thoght Ronaldo was a cheat 2003-2006. Next thing I know, @CedarsDevil calls me a “fake troll”.
I said I think Ashley Young is not a good player (remember, just an opinion). Next thing I know, @kanchelskis starts insulting me.
+ just because some people don’t post here regularly, it doesn’t mean they don’t follow the blog/love the club. Sometimes I just agree with most of what is said, and don’t type anything.
I love Manchester United, that is the bottom line.
My name is Paco Rabane! I smell of thee desert, and tiny cactus plants. I have wondered the plains and I’m part of the fugawhee tribe. One time I got lost, and shouted with all me heart, wherethefuckarewe!
That’s a great bottom line! It doubtless rules every emotion, right?
That doesn’t sit right, when paired with a comment that seems anti-United.
Perhaps a little care will bring you the responses that you seek, rather than those you list.
i think u said Ronaldo was a cheat. Someone else said 2003- 06. You don’t come across as the most friendly person. Just my view.
Paco Rabane has cut a great line on his bottom, that’s wherethefuckweare.
Not to be sneezed at!
@AntiScouser
(keeping it civil)… do you still think that about A Young? Admittedly he didn’t do much -vs- Villa to reverse that opinion if it was an ernestly held one, but I’d be interested to know whether it was a heat-of-the-moment thing post-Newcastle, or whether you genuinely don’t rate him.
@smartalex
I’m not seeking responses. I just want to voice an opinion without getting insulted.
Thanks for the good wishes Xol, and for the tip about pumpkin seeds. I’ll look into that although I may not be able to have them as I’m on a special low fibre diet (no seeds, pulses, nuts, grains, plus all sorts of fruits & vegs.) Needless to say I am delighted to hear your Dad’s doing well. I can tell from your knowledge of what his specialist has said that you’ve been giving him really good support, which I know will have meant a lot to him.
For those of you who have no idea what we’re talking about, I have been treated for advanced prostate cancer since May 2009. From time to time folk on RoM ask how I’m doing and send good wishes, which I really, really do appreciate. I mentioned it in the first place to advise all you young men to get yourself checked out if you have the least suspicion that all is not well ‘down there’, especially if you find yourself pissing a lot more than usual, particularly at night (which is what happened to me). There is a simple blood test (PSA) which will give a good basic indication if you have one of various prostate disorders. Further investigation is needed if the PSA level is higher than usual, such as biopsies and maybe scans etc, all of which I had, showing that I have a very aggressive form of cancer.
I have been very lucky in that I was invited by the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital to participate in a clinical trial of a new form of treatment, involving much heavier doses of radiation than the norm for radiotherapy. It has so far proved far more effective than expected and is being made available in hospitals elsewhere, still experimentally. I am also on long term hormone treatment which is very debilitating and exhausting, but very effective in keeping the cancer under control. There are all sorts of long term side effects with both treatments (hence the dreary diet) but my consultant is delighted with how well things are going at present. He cheerfully told me last year, ‘If this treatment hadn’t been effective so far, you would by now already be in very, very serious trouble!’ There’s basically no cure as yet, so it’s a matter of my prolonging life, and – vital this – getting me back playing football again. (You think I’m kidding?)
For those of you who feel uncomfortable with all this and wonder what it’s got to do with United (apart from the fact that Kiddo and Denis Law have both had the disease, and that the club has been supporting a prostate cancer charity that is) it’s because the earlier the disease is caught the better your prospects. Many men delay doing something out of squeamishness and embarassment so I’m using this platform to advise you all again:
If in doubt, check it out!!!
End of health warning, with thanks again for all those good wishes over the last couple of years.
Hi guys,been following ROM for a while.Last post I had was probably in response to the Israel thingy by Cedars Devil(greetings).Just wanted to holla tho,peace.
AntiScouser
That’s not true. Nearly everyone “voices an opinion without getting insulted”
The expressed opinion stands before the public; submitted. No delete or edit options.
I’m sure you agree that the same sentiments expressed without the inflammatory tone would invoke more constructive responses. Also, of course, they’d probably be ignored. You can’t have notoriety and be charmed.
You are in my prayers, esteemed Giles Oakley.
I will take your warning to heart.
@kanchelskis
In all honesty, yes. I’m not a neurotic and I don’t have full blown temper tantrums when it comes to football. I was a sceptic when we signed A.Young (unlike De Gea who I think will turn out good) and I remain a sceptic. His shooting accuracy is very good, but he lacks tactical awerness of a 26-yearold playing his 4-5 season in the PL. He slouches, is relatively slow for a winger (statistics, not me), needs acres of space to shoot or cross and is a defensive liabilty. More injury prone, too. But he is English and I think that was a pivotal factor when we signed him.
I hope you uderstand why I was hostile.
To be fair to anti scouser he is wright in what he says he should be able to voice his opinion. If he thinks Young is not good enough then so be it. Its posters ilke Berbaflop and CarBANGrick that are are a joke as their whole exicstance is based on a mission to dislike one player.
I love it when a player turns it around like Nani, Evans etc as they have had their divided opinions.
I had to justify for a week why i thought Anderson was gash and i put that mildy I think he is fucking terrible in fact.
This is a blog that should stoke up the appetites, I know Paul Parker would completely disagree with my above assessment but we agree to disagree we dont start calling each other names, and to be honest with you even if I was called a cunt i am not a sensitive poster and will just argue my point.
Just because we love United doesnt mean we have to agree with everything just like me and my old mate Cedars on the Fergie apology etc
Wow I hope that the rumours about us wanting martinez are true.
Would be the perfect player for us.
@AntiScouser
I suppose if there’s one thing we can agree on it’s the hope that you’ll be proved wrong by the end of the season.
I see some of your points – especially the need for space to get stuff done and maybe the tactical awareness too.
I don’t think he’s all that slow though… remember him toasting the WBA left-back to save our first game of the season? And I don’t think he’s a defensive liability either – he may not be the best tackler but he tracks back a lot.
From his time as Villa, I seem to remember him being one of those players – like Rooney – where the wavelength of their form fluctuations is very high. Long barren periods, followed by a few roaring games. I hoped that being at Utd would help to balance this out to a plain of higher form, and maybe it hasn’t quite happened yet.
BUT Young was superb at the start of the season, and in the context of his injury, his being at a new club (a big one) AND – crucially – the added onus on him creatively, given the lack of invention through the middle, he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
AntiScouser – So, i say something nice about a couple of regulars, and make a suggestion.
You ridicule my suggestion, and turn it into a rude joke at the expense of the very people I’m thanking for their contribution to our lives.
Now you demand that you be allowed to attack United scathingly, without rebuke.
You’re a right cunt, aren’t you? Are you a cunt? It seems so, but you will prove it either way.
You’re a hypocrite. You needlessly attack my gentle comment, and moan about your slander of people we love causing upset. Hypocrite.
@smartalex
I don’t demand anything. Whatever you write is fine by me. I don’t mind you using terms of endearment for internet friends, but I just don’t think it’s fair when somebody (who doesn’t post here regularly) makes a comment, only to be subdued by comments like “Who do you support, you cunt?”, “Only regulars make sense here” etc. Classic groupthink, with no need for it really.
@kanchelskis
I respect your opinion, hope you’re right.
@smartalex
“People we love “? You’re having a laugh, right?
A couple of the early season goals conceded could be attributed to Young’s inexperience in the role he plays at United. It is natural that adapting to a team as proficient and different as United will take time. Young has hardly skipped a beat. Although we’d all love the scintillating football from early doors to return, it is not on Ashley’s shoulders that we have had a mediocre run result wise.
AntiScouser
You ridiculed my comment, yet repeatedly complain that people are rude to you.
Shut the fuck up already!
@smartalex
Now imagine me saying: “smartalex you daft cunt, you make no sense. Glad to see some regulars here. What are you? A City fan?”
@smartalex
I give up. Enjoy your wisdom.
AntiScouser
Why did you bring me in to your argument when you attacked my very first comment even though it has nothing do do with you and we have never spoken? You destroyed what I had said to further your silly squabble.
What squabble? Oh, you don’t like people responding rudely to your comments.
Fucking hypocrite cunt!
Apologise unreservedly and recognise your shame. Then, shut the fuck up already!
Talk about United.
He’s got a great big fucking canoe in his eye and he’s searching for trace carbon in others.
@It’s in my blood, bayoRED
Hi guys. I actually read that article by United Religion earlier today and it definitely raised some interesting points. I know I have a reputation for signling out the medical team, but the root of the problem starts elsewhere. Bad luck has nothing to do with it anymore. It’s happened too many times for that to be the case.
You people need to quit throwing handbags at each other. I’ve said several times that none of us on this board are robots, we’ll never agree with each other but that’s what makes football the greatest sport.
You don’t have to agree with people but you can respect their views because at the end of the day, we all congregate here for the good of united and maybe we all express it differently.
Now you ladies, kiss and make up. P.S – weeping is not allowed.
@Antiscouser: I’ve posted on this blog a few times, rarely though, I’m completely a non regular, but no one has ever insulted me or asked me who I support. In fact they’ve been rather nice whenever I’ve posted.
When Costas first started banging on about the Medical team, it would annoy me even though I had no substantive argument, and I couldn’t respond. Since then, our injuries have become more and more frequent, such that I too now wonder what can be changed to end this malaise. Costas was and is right, something is amiss.
antiscouser. Read your own comments mate. You insult everybody who even dares comment to u even if its a little joke. U insulted me over on the other thread when i was trying to be diplomatic. Keep your extinc latin and think of greenhouses and throwing stones. Not going to question who u support infact I don’t care. Still not 1 constructive comment. Snide Insult after snide insult.
Parryheid @ 14:18: “Sling in the some distance away from first team capabilities kids”
Without sarcasm, I disagree with that assessment of Ravel Morrison. To be sure, I have seen a lot of this kid but when I have seen him – in his first team cameos and in his full-game efforts in last year’s two-legged U18 championship – he’s greatly impressed me. He’s thin but seems tough; there’s no doubt that he’s two-footed, slippery, inventive and has “magic in his boots”. He reminds me a lot of the Young Ricky Kaka when he first broke into ACMilan’s first-team around 2005. AND, I think that Ravel Morrison is one of those guys who will get better when playing with better players and against better players – he’s the most talented youngster UTD have had since CR7/TheWayneBoy and I really can’t see any argument against giving him first-team playing time except that it might be better to “blood” him slowly. And even that argument doesn’t stand up to examination – when they’re good enough then they’re old enough. That was the case with Duncan Edwards and Bobby Charlton sixty years ago; that was the case fifty years ago with George Best; that was the case less than ten years ago with CR7 and TheWayneBoy and I think it’s the case with Ravel Morrison now.
I also assume that when you were discussing ” the some distance away from first team capabilities kids” that you didn’t mean DannyTheLad who has shown himself to be ready-for-prime time, just like Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.
Suck my balls & Call me Willie …..that Suarez is is still on the run. Lock him up!
I hear Terry’s case has been handed over to the police for him to do community service instead of any on pitch punishment or reputation being tarnished.
The FA is doing well to protect their cheating,unloyal,racist,unpatriotic cunt of a captain. His mother robs tesco, his dad sells drugs in a pub & his brother cheated on his teamate who later commited suicide.
Disgusting bloodline, deserves erasing, feel sorry for his kids, an embarrasement they don’t deserve.

Glad you’re keeping your head above water – but get yourself down to The Trafford Macmillan Care Centre if you live in Trafford – lots of support, advice,and humour there for when you’re sinking a little, or would like other strategies to improve your well being. There’s even a keyworker who’s a fervent utd fan to have a chinwag with.
Good luck mate, and thanks for encouraging us all to keep an eye on our ‘bits’!
… and TomSawyerCleverley.
It’s in the grounds of Trafford Gen hosp
^ added to denton davey’s list of ready-for-prime time lads.
I don’t accept the medical team theory. The only thing, that makes some sort of sense to me, is the way we’re training. On Hernandez? It’s his first major injury. I don’t remember him being injured too many times last season. I’m not having Owen either. He’s been injury prone, at all his clubs. The rigours of the English game don’t help. Maybe a winter break, could solve some of the problems. With our winters in the UK, when do you have the break? Firm pitches, flimsy boots, do attribute to foot injuries. Could be the CQ factor as well. How games did our back 4 miss in the 07/08 season? Wouldn’t think, too many.
antiscouser-
Por que tan serio ? Que loco hermano ?
ANti scouser…… Smartalex might well be a cunt….but he is our cunt and we like his fuck you attitude….
Denial is the first phase, WillieRedNut. It’s hard to gambol on crutches though.
Wears you down.
Willie –
Chico has been injured and looked off since A.Hole smashed his ankle in the Chelshite game. England desperatly needs a winter break, SAF has conplained since 2001. I do agree with Owen Harjreaves….El equipo medico es estupido. No wonder why Cristiano underperformed at United.
To antiscouser(he won’t get it though)
“You come at the king antiscouser…………you best not miss”
WillieRedNut
Hey Willie, yes, it’s got to be something in the training.
Whilst we almost always outlast the opposition in terms of finishing games looking stronger / being fitter,
it seems as if we do pay a price for it.
The two teams who pass the ball most in the Premier league are us and Arse, the two teams with most injuries as well.
What does this mean?
No idea.
Wonder if Costas can come up with any stats for injuries in teams who play like the Wimbledon of old, i.e., hoof it up and chase?
Yeah! Fuck you!
Eh? What? just a sec…
papii – That’s a bad challenge though. Like Davies on TC.
Denton Dadey’
These lads you are talking about,there is no arguement about the quality they possess and will show in the first team at some time in the future.It’s just that I disagree their time is now,You think differently and have put your view and good on you it’s all about opinions held.
Agony AuntieScouser, I need your help. What a dilemma!
There’s a sado-masochistic cot-wobbler with regressed suicidal tendencies afoot
How do we un-regress that regression, so to speak?
It’s in my blood – Can Costas come up with stats? Like you wouldn’t believe!
awww come on missed the fight. come on fellas ding ding round 2.
Oakley- Thank you very much for the advice i hope your treatments continue to break new ground. Fingers crossed we’ll see you on a pitch someday. I’m going to have the test done. Never thought of it before and some of the stats are frightening Thanks again
Ding ding! Smartalex vs Antipreacher! Not the son of a preacher man! Oh Dusty!
Costas- i’m with you fella, bad luck gone to far, way to far. Thing is whats being done about it or is it even recognized as an issue
Ah, the spring fields shall bring their reward, as every stadium falls to United.
WillieRedNut
Yeah, silly question really!
I wonder – keeping with the silly questions – if it’s some kind of repetitive strain injury thing, combined with the training?
You know, tap tap tap, pass pass pass, three times as much as the opposition week in week out?
But i suppose by that reckoning Barca should be crocked too.
The injuries are getting ridiculous though.
@WRN
Haha. That’s some Season 1 shit right there. Surely the most enduring quote of all 5 seasons though…
Completely off topic guys, but can’t help sharing this:
I can see the comments from Liverpool and fans of Suarez coming now……
1. The middle finger means “thank you” in Uruguay. He’s been mis-understood…….again!
2. Suarez was impeccable
3. It isn’t diving. In Uruguay NOBODY dives. Rolling around the ground is just part of Suarez’s warm up.
4. Gus Poyet will come out again and say that he knows Suarez suffers from cramp in his hands which make his middle finger extend and the others fold back at the same time. It’s a common complaint in Uruguay too
Wow, I was nominated for a RoM award! Thank you for the compliment, smartalex.
Rotegzy
Ha ha, class!
Hello all that are RED!!!!!
@Giles Thanks for filling us in. Bless you and yours. Sounds like your fighting the good fight. Keep it up.
PSA! PSA! PSA! PSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it done. If your afraid of the finger, Berbafiles have the doc wear a Berba mask. Look for a female DR. with small hands. Take a deep breath, and go to your happy place.
Fred – We didn’t win it, though.
That sneaky CedarsDevil pipped us both.
RoM ROCK’S!!!!!!!!!!!
Willie, I’m honoured just to have been nominated in such esteemed company.
It’s in my blood – That’s why i mentioned CQ mate. A change in the training regime………sounds a reasonable explanation. Only one plausible outcome………bring him back!
#Wille and Fred.It was an honor just to be nominated, is a bunch of crap. Its all about silverware.
Congrats Cedar you fucking nice guy!
new rumours gathering that pogba rejected the deal and is close to joining AC Milan.
If it’s for the money I’m glad he’s gone.
Phil Jones was flanking Fergie at the press conference , that says something eh? remember when Ronny was taking on that role
@Giles Oakley
I send my very best wishes to you. And thank you for the advice.
Willie
‘That sneaky Cedars Devil pipped us both.
Where is the sneaky Devil?
Pogba might see Jones as CM and thinks with Tunni as well he might have to leave?
Breaking Gus Poyet interview:
Bell bhat I banna shay ish that bhat dat Alesh Fergoosun know abou Fooball? In Sphain be know dhat bhat you call jou not play sexy football jou know?
Anna Luish is a bhat jou call good boy you English make him bad boy you no idea that black bashturd is a black bashturd and chelshea is besht team in Engerland no?
Zibbie – I think it’s clearly his agent in his ear.
Zibbie – Jello my nutty comrade!
@It’s in my blood : you raise an interesting point about us and the arse having the most injuries. Makes you think harder about Barca and the drug rumors, doesnt it? or do they have such godly technique that they keep doing the ticky tacky without ending up at the wrong end of a cruncher? Or are their defenders wimps (i dont buy that)? Or is their diving a natural defence mechanism?
@Smartalex: I know…talk of erring on the side of leniency! It’s just that my big, jovial, peaceout hippy instincts always tends to win over the baser asshole ones
By the way, you seem to be winning our debate re: Carrick, and I for one, am absolutely delighted!
@Anti-scouser: You confuse me. You seem to be an otherwise OK lad, but you did launch into unprovoked attacks on posters here….seems to me that you got mad at being called things, and then just transferred the rage onto a broad perceived collective…happens all the time to the best of us, if that’s the case just admit it and move on…if not, just say so, I’m probaly off to bed and won’t /may not be bothered to respond either way…
Zelh – interesting if true. What is your source?
James – My first guess would be, he’s plotting someones downfall.
A N T I something?
Well I’m glad the battle lines got drawn and anti United got found out
I’ll gladly sit this one out and leave you fine people to battle
Just let me know when you need me
Thanks James for the earlier comment previous blog
Thanks Giles for the update – well important to appreciate and learn things when not in the know

The container of Lebanese Black that mysteriously arrived brought clarity to my senses.
I’m a NUTTER!
19
LOL Smartalex…..
Wolfie what a pack member!
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, but I am not capable enough to dig up with stats like that.
There’s a site called physioroom.com that keeps up with injuries, but even they aren’t accurate enough. They just paint a picture in general.
As for the medical team, it’s obvious that I don’t blame them for players getting injured. I’ve stressed that before. It just annoys me that when a player gets injured they don’t seem to deal wit accordingly or in the timeframe that Fergie said they would. Tom’s injury is a prime example.
But when I look at the amount of injuries and the innocuous fashion in which they happen, then I can’t help but feel that the team hasn’t been physically prepared like it should have. It’s a worrying sign when players start getting injured on their own and we end up losing them for weeks or even months. Fergie shouldn’t have to build a squad of 30 players just to deal with this.
Jeet – I had a word with him, and he graciously agreed to up-tempo for your benefit.
Lovely chap!
Fred – Friend of mine has Sky Italy and the guy on it named Gianluca Di Marzio said it. He says that guy is pretty reliable.
It still can be shit, but it’s clearly about his agent. I mean we offered 15k for an 18yo reserve player!
willie
Probably right there. He had a play earlier.
Cedars requested prostrate exams daily from his nurse. As he dreams of her pudding shaking as she walks away.
@Smartalex: jeez, you don’t say? And ohh, does it smell of lebanese cedars?
I had my manali, and listening to the stones right now….all I can say is “paint it RED”!!!
@MG
Didn’t know you were fluent in Uruguayan.
Costas – The bulk of our defenders played loads of games in the double winning season. Do you think CQ was the main reason for this? Or, is it just a coincidence, that since he’s left, we’ve picked up more injuries? What say ye?
Hot muffins BBL.
Costash
Bell bhat I banna say ish dhat…
Just for Costas
Need to get very good at my job lol
Hot muffins.
And the buns?
Cedars’s nurse: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnwu6bRgIc1qjrn55o1_500.jpg
The training, conditioning, health, diet and other factors all work together.
I’m told that alcohol,narcotics and snacks can delay your return from injury, and my knees are testament to that.
Okay to show how ignorant i was about PSA, i had no idea it required a little back doer entry, Thanks Zibbie you only made it more dread.
Speaking of dread i don’t see 4 English teams in the knock out phase. Interesting couple 48hrs or so of football ahead
Zelh says:
new rumours gathering that pogba rejected the deal and is close to joining AC Milan.
If it’s for the money I’m glad he’s gone.
How about if its NOT for the money?
@Fred: LMAO
@Smartalex: and I got a stiff thigh before a football match tomorrow, and hoping that what I had just would help
I’m looking forward to tonight’s Champions League action!
Here are my predictions:
Chelsea 2-2 Valencia
Genk 0-3 Leverkusen
Olympiacos 1-1 Arsenal
Dortmund 3-1 Marseille
Porto 3-0 Zenith
APOEL 1-0 Shakhtar
Barcelona 4-0 BATE
Plzen 0-3 Milan
Maybe he fancies some Italian? He’s a crazy, for the pasta!
Jeet – you got stiff looking at that nurse?
Jeet, it will help, but take advantage of your soothed state and mentally relax each and every part of your body, with special focus on every fibre in your thigh.
Its true Utd haven’t been exactly the same since Quiroez left. Maybe its because Ronnie left aswell but our football has definitely changed.
Bringing Pep Guardiola as assistant to SAF should fix it !
Goodness Fred. Thats not real is it?
LOL listen to Eileen Drury here!
slim – well dunno about you, but I wouldn’t change to an italian club which isn’t really known for bringing youth through the ranks. same with citeh who are after him.
Papii – what most people forget is that Manucho left that summer too. Certainly no coincidence that we’ve been on the slide ever since.
Slim – and the competition in midfield is even higher.
Jeet
Hi mate, long time no speak!
Just a long shot re the ticky tacky, but, a combination of that and heavier pitches here, who knows?
What i am convinced about is that it has to be addressed.
I can’t see us ever admitting anything publicly, but i’m equally sure that questions will have been asked at OT.
Zelh – much prefer that he goes to Milan rather than a domestic rival, but what a dickhead.
@Willie
Not sure about that. I remember the team struggling with injuries in 05-06 and 06-07 (where it all came to a head at Milan). It’s just that injuries weren’t as frequent during those years. You’re right about 07-08 though. It was probably our best season in that regard in a long time. Even Hargo was fit for half the season.
Sir Giles – Thanks once again or thanks for the thanks as they graciously say on here, It sounds like it won’t be long before you’re tearing down the wing like never before. Don’t be picking up soft yellows for shirt twirling celebrations. Speaking of pissing;
MG – Pant-pissingly funny Gus Poyet interview.
I’m off to make love to @Nigella_Lawson before tonight’s games kick off. See you later tweeps. #oooof!
If you get down and quarrel everyday
You’re arguing about the devils, I say
Why not help one another on the way?
Make it much easier
Say you just can’t live that negative way
You know what I mean
Make way for the positive day
Cause it’s a new day
New time, new feeling yeah!
Say it’s a new sign
Oh what a new day
Faith in vibration yeah! Positive
I and I vibration yeah! Positive
I a man iration yeah! Irie ites
Vibes, got to have a good vibe
Zelh
Honestly i don’t know either. But its a strange one and got me thinking about all parties involved . Then again it just could be as simple as money like you said. Just dreary news to be doing the rounds without us not having any conviction about the matter. whether he’ staying or going. Not long, we’ll figure out what happens in a little bit
@Fred: No, but I was thinking that you recalled her from our talk of hot muffins and buns

@Smartalex: Thanks, will try – sounds sort of like meditation
@ Its in my blood: yeah, mate, how’ve you been? Not posting for last week I guess, but been reading everything – work, and been kinda boring on the footie front too, hasnt it?
…and now, I must really be off…way past my bedtime and I hate to wake up with insufficient sleep after a nice j:)
Kisses you red bastards…. and sympathy for you devils
slim – like I said I won’t judge him before we know to 100% what’s happening. I’m just glad if he’s after money and to me it looks like the hype got into him and his agent of course.
Hi Everyone!!!!!!!
Young is one of the best LF forever and will be better than Ronado anyone Agree that Chelsea will lose in the CL tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Manchester Utd are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Manchester City will lose 2moro
Fat Frank dropped.
Antiblouser will be back, with a son of a preacher woman.
papii – No Pepto! He too Barca!
Fat Frank dropped. I felt the treamour here.
@Booch. No I don’t think Young will be better than Ronaldo. Ronaldo is one of the best Utd Players I’ve ever seen grace Old Trafford. (Never saw Best play)
I’m off to have a sandwich before the CL matches start, anyone agree?
Anti Scouser
Here is the thing, you may or may not be a United fan that we will never know, one thing that you certainly are and that is a WUM….. All you do is come on here and post sly digs at other posters, nothing constructive whatsoever and then you complain about being attacked by the so called regulars… You must suffer from sort of an identity crisis, probably one of those people that never feels accepted.
Fred
Loved that photo, mind you mine was much hotter! hahaha
smartalex
I feel humbled and honored by your award my friend
Evening all
No JC. Just had Toad in the hole. I feel fatter than Frank.
AVB stamping his authority on fat Frank!
Slycloakanddaggerscouser.
Evening Cedars.
IF the Pogba story IS true then fuck off you cunt. How greedy are you? You aint even done fuck all yet. Anyway as I keep saying it wont be long before Tunni is bossing our midfield. Once again he came on at halftime and changed the game and smashed the crossbar. Look at the size of him now. He is a fucking beast. Cannot wait to see him, Cleverley, Morrison and Jones in the middle of the park. Regarding Jonesy , who I love , I wondered about his passing ability in midfield,. From what I have seen he can pass well. Sure not the raking balls like Scholes or Carrick but his short game is good. My man crush is now firmly on Jones. A REAL man!!
Willie
Evening pal, the local FA here have cancelled the proposed trip to NI, sighting lack of sufficient funds! I feel gutted, the corrupt bastards probably just bagged the money instead….
James21
Nice one! Evening my good friend
smartalex – Thanks alot for the mention my friend. Sadly I think I have been outranted by BobbyCharlie1968 who does some belting rants.
King Eric – Tunni developed really well under Fergie Jr. Absolute powerhouse and can go forward to.
@King Eric, Get the fuck outta here! You lay your hands off my man and go back to that baby-faced striker of yours.
Cedars – Really? Ah well, it will have to be another time mate. On Antiscouser? It wouldn’t surprise me if used to post under a different name. He does seem overly negative.
King Eric
Make your mind up pal, cannot have them all for fucks sake! How will Little Pea feel now?
Off to watch Chelsea grapple with the Spanish. Laters!
United site reports its pretty cold out there in Basel. Big game in the offing, can’t wait
Fred –
Perhaps Manucho will return someday, SAF would love it, the fans would welcome him back and he himself has already said
“In the future? Only Zeus knows, but you know anything impossible is nothing”
Man U – Cho = He will never die = He has found the Philisophers stone
Pepsi Guedioura would be a fanta-asstic choice as Assistant to Ole !
——————————————–
Cedars’ Nurse is no longer with us
I hit it soo hard, her ass popped and she just flew off like a untied balloon, such a shame, would rather have deflated her, she wasn;t so wrinkly, would have brought out several broken Irons which is not very impressive is it?
@FRED!!!! LOL!!!!!
Slim my bad!!!!! PSA is just a blood test the finger is just a finger on prostate exam, PLEASE GET THE PSA!!
Papii
You never fail to put a smile on my face! Cheers
Zibbie
How are you buddy?
Gary Neville on the Chelsea game. Fantastic. Loving it
Papii – Hahaha!:D
Booch – Hello your Boochness. I like your Champions League predictions. Your prediction about Ashley Young gave me a good chuckle too.
Slim – I would never knowingly post Photoshopped booty. I’ll find the bird’s name and study her other pictures to get to the bottom of the mystery.
As expected no RVP for Arsenal tonight, my evening is ruined, completely ruined! hahahaha
Don’t worry about the Drog’s goal, there’s a long way to go yet.
Arsenal are keeping RVP fresh for City showdown. He will blow the title race wide open next weekend, mark my words.
Cedars I’m great, I have been healthy enough to take on a big project. I will be very busy over the next 5 to 6 months. From like 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM with barley a chance to surf RoM. I will check in around 12 noon from here on out. Fred might show us Shakerias ass ????? Shaking her pudding!!!!
DECEMBER 6, 2011 AT 19:25
King Eric, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a traitor this Juan Mata is. He could have been making the difference for Valencia tonight. We’ll see who’s laughing at full-time anyway…
Cedars glad I’m here with you between naps.
Pudding is served: http://betteruserexperience.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/shakira.gif?w=600
Zibbie
I am always here in spirit at least! hahaha Glad to know you’re doing well buddy and good luck with your project
Thanks Fred! My Flintsone!
Im starting to come to the opinion that every match should be reviewed on tape by an official and flagrant acts of faking an injury/diving should be held up to some sort of punishment. That display from Miereles was embarassing, the hand didnt even come within inches of his face and he went down as if slugged in the jaw by Tyson.
Ah FFS. Chelsea 2 goals to the good now.
Fred
You just touched my err heart in the right place! hahaha brilliant stuff
By the way its nice to know ‘I belong here’ and the so called regulars accept me! hahahaha
Thanks Cedars, After reading Sir Giles post. Made me think after last years brush with death I had with Staff infection, was in the hospital for 20+ days and recouping at home for 6 more weeks is when I started posting in a regular manor. RoM so therapeutic. RoM Rehab? Rehab from RoM.
This is gonna be a long one, absolutely no movement off of the ball with Valencia right now and Chelshit are just gonna pack in the backline.
Why are some so desperate for Chelsea to lose? They are not our enemies my any means, they are mere rent boys
Zibbie
RoM is by all means a rehab my friend….. Just ask me!!!
Got a new line from Gary “There’s something statistics doesn’t tell you, that’s body language” Talking about Drogba.
Hmmmm
I’ve just seen a whole news story to Cheryl Coles shoe range
I bet Watson would be waiting to investigate her missing Lingerie range.
Hmmm, a win tonight would put Chelsea’s tails up ahead of Monday night’s clash of the nouveau riche.
Hmmm
Chelsea winning would be a good incentive for next weeks clash against mancelona
Nice going Arse.
http://s1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee465/james21e/?action=view¤t=MissVanPersie.jpg
Cedars your date awaits.
If Chelsea win and top the group, that will increase our chances of getting Barcelona or Real in the last 16. If we get by Basel of course…
James
Cedars will be turning very very green…
James
Bugger off, that just put me off! hahahaha
King Eric,
my vote for RoM Ranter went to bobbycharlie1968. You I voted RoM Sage of the Year!
CedarsDevil gets the Velvet Glove, Ladies man and big club wielder, 2011
Costas makes a very good point.
;D Don’t be like that she’s come all the way up from London just for you.
Cheers lads.
Zehl. Oh no question tunni is a real powerhouse who is a real box to boxer. Strong as an ox, times his tackles to perfection and can pop up with goals. In the jones mould that he is a leader. Or will be.
As someone stated in a way the rentboys winning is a good thing. Full of confidence for Monday.
Regards the last sixrteen fuck it. Assuming we get through we get who we get. Fuck all we can do about it. Anyway nobody knows what form will be like come feb march time. We could be on fire. Messi may have broke his leg or tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. Xavi could be injured. Ronnie could be. No point in worrying who we get. Bring em on. As I say the last sixteen is a long time away yet.
what i want to know is how any of the men in the sky studios could concentrate on the game with that bombshell across the room,
Cheers Smartalex, much obliged pal, there I was thinking I was randomly ranting.
hahaha @ Fugawee Tribe!
@ Fred, does ole Eckhart Tolle support United then?
Giles mate, hope you have that kick about soon. Cheers for the Health Tip.
Eckhart Tolle.
It was two days ago that I mentioned him.
Slim, if in doubt, have the PSA test. It’s just a blood sample initially, unless it’s high in Prostate Specific Antigens which may indicate cancer. At that point you might get rectal examinations, although it’s really not too bad. I’ve been lucky, beautiful women doing it with tender loving care! All of these things are better than dying, I’d suggest. That’s basically the choice, not to be too blunt about it.
Giles
The things we take for granted.Thanks for the advise.Take care.
@ Giles Oakley
All the best mate.
Love reading your R.O.M stories. They are fantastic.
Thank you.
Cheers Gents, Giles makes a good point re prostate cancer. Every lad over 50 should get a baseline blood test for PSA and then every 2-4 years or so. They say that every man in his 70s has prostate cancer. Luckily it is mostly in a very benign form. The PSA test is just a way to keep your head in the game and make sure you are there for United and your kids. I give this advice to any United fan for free. If you support Cittay you can get it somewhere else
