Zabaleta: Tevez Wanted To Stay At United

Pablo Zabaleta has today reiterated the fact that Carlos Tevez didn’t want to leave Manchester United before penning a contract at local rivals City, which would see him earn over £50,000 more a week.

He also believes that our reaction to our former player during derby day, which upset Tevez, vindicates the decision to join City, because of course City fans wouldn’t boo a player who left them for us…

“I know Carlos very well. We were friends last year, even though he was at United and I was at City, so I know what his situation was,” said Zabaleta . “The United fans blame Carlos but they should not because he was happy there. He wanted to stay and it was difficult for him to leave. He helped them be successful. To be treated as he was at Old Trafford made him understand he made the right choice when he came to City. Now, Carlos knows the fans weren’t genuine. He felt it was not his fault he left the club.”

That’s right. City fans don’t jeer ex-players who left them for local rivals. They prefer to boo the players who are still playing for them.

The only one who wasn’t being genuine was Tevez himself. If you look at all of his interviews 2-3 months before he left us you’ll see clearly how paradox they were. One minute he was saying all the right things, the next everyone was disrespecting him. I sometime got the feeling he was psychotic by reading all that crap…

I strictly remember a statement released by the club when Man Utd and Tevez decided to part ways. Then the club said they had offered Tevez a deal and were in the end willing to fork out the 25 mills to his pimp. But Tevez and his pimp wanted more than 10 days to think about the offer which United didn’t grant them (why did he need more than 10 days, he had been saying he wanted to stay all along) and he left. He had decided to leave long before that, that’s for sure, and he just wants to cover up the fact he left for more money.

    Ah pity party for Tevez.

It does not matter how much money you have.
You can only sleep in one bed at a time.
You can only eat one breakfast at a time.

You do not get a second chance to play for the Best club in the World.

Enjoy your money Tevez I am sure you felt like a rich man when you watched Michael Owen being adored by 75000 in the Theatre of Dreams.
Michael Owen felt like the richest man in the world though.

    hello everyone

better not to talk about tevez. i feel he wanted to stay but someone made him change his mind.maybe his agent or even maradonna. We dont know but something happened in April that made tevez change his mind. anyways i am more than happy with owen and berba and rooney. we dont need tevez.still hasnt scored in the league.sad to see that all this happened with tevez.i really liked him before he made a fool of himself and showed that he is a greedy cunt

  7. bigphil2003 says:

The thing that really pisses me off is that the general public and media seem to think we’re just annoyed because he joined City. They completely gloss over the fact the he shit all over the one man who is responsible for all our recent success. Who are we gonna side with? A man who came for two years, had a good first season then basically gave up when there was some competition for his spot and then cried about not being loved enough – or Sir Alex? Tough choice….

  11. Drabik says:

The coin hit Garrido didn’t it? Who really cares what this nobody is saying about an over-rated player who no longer plays for the best team in the world? Let’s just forget about it, it seems its the same article about Tevez over and over again. No offence Scott, I read every last one of your articles (although I rarely comment) and I think that these sort of articles aren’t needed any more. I personally couldn’t care less what person x has to say about Tevez. He could be the most generous person in the world, supporting all the animal, children and poor charities, but he is still a twat, nothing can change that, and almost all united fans know this. Sorry, I don’t like to rant…but you get the point I’m sure.

  12. Gotta hate tiny tevez says:

    Drabik
its not that the post is about zabaleta talking about how amazing tevez is
its him talking about tevez and manchester united
which is manchester united related news
and thats what scotts blog is about
bringing you news updates and points that are bounching around about manchester united and a city player sauying another city player wants to play for united is funny news
Imagine how a city fan feels reading that tevez wants to stay at united
it must be whats its like to be a dipper fan everytime someone asks Carragher About the best Manager in the league

  13. Costas says:

    Morning everyone.

Wah wah wah. As Nicky Butt once famously said regarding Paul Ince’s transfer to Liverpool, “If Carlos ever feels disappointed about the reception he got, he can always look at his bank account and that will cheer him up”.

It’s funny how we are branded as being not genuine. It was Tevez who refused the offer we had agreed upon wasn’t it? What’s the point anyway? The twat is where he belongs now. Fat, out of shape, goaless and with a blue shirt.

  14. Xyth says:

Tevez is more deluded than one can possibly imagine. He has left now and should shut the fuck up and leave United alone (or maybe deep down he is really regretting the day he made his foolish decision and sold his soul for money).

As far as we are concerned, he is history.

  19. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Hi.right there.he can always look to his bank account.Tevez has become obnoxiously fat but i always felt he was overweight.he needs to shed atleast 5-6 kgs and he has not scored in the league yet.that further justifies fergie’s decision. Only a matter of time when adebawhore comes and tevez will be left to warm the benches and the moaning will start

  39. Bob Koh says:

Tevez is a cuntyprick. We’ll go to wasteland and do the double & shut up this cuntyprick. All Singapore ManU fans think the same way, I’ve spoken with many & even the ‘milder’ ones, and they go ‘he’s saying things contrary to what he said and is depending on the media to muddle up the facts so he appears as an angel! The fact is, he’s a money grabbing cunt who whilst gleefully pocketing the money, try to make himself of as an angel. This is worst type of cuntyprick. What’s Evra doing with his arm on the cuntyprick’s shoulder after the match? Evra should just ignore him!

  40. willierednut says:

Ah just shut it tevbitch your getting boring. of topic paddy barclay has just ripped our team to bits on talksport, ando, nani and valencia wont make it at united according to him, giggs and scholesy cant go on 4eva wat our we going to do we are in decline ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This is the same Barclay that has said the REntboys will piss it! He seems very bitter after their defeat at mighty Wigan. What else did the horrible bastard say?

  44. Stephen says:

Alright boys, what is that Talkshite in having a pop at United yet again? I fucking hate that radio station, Fatty Quinn, Ginger knob Durham, that Hawksbee twat, Jason Cunty spend their lives praying for our demise, but as usual they are always wrong, bring on numero 19!

  46. Sketch says:

I am sick and tired of hearing about Tevez. I dont care that he left us, i truthfully never rated him. Yes he tried hard and ‘loved’ the fans but thats not enough to make it at the highest level. He is a hypocrite and what i hate most about him is the way he acts as though he is better than anyone else. One thing that was essential for him to understand was the fact no one is irreplaceable at united and that its a teams game. He is a whiny little bitch who keeps talking trash about us. I learnt to ignore his comment and i hope the rest of the United fans can just pretened that this argie little cunt never existed.

  47. willierednut says:

    @King eric
He said the rentboys had an of day then he laid in to us, he must be closet chelsea fan. the debate on talksport now is, who’s better rooney or torres diffo wazza for me yes i am biased.

  51. King Eric says:

willierednut – Yeah I heard a bit of the Tranny/Rooney debate. Durham is as anti United as you can get but he said he rates Wazza more. Can’t believe the amount of bitter people calling in saying Rooney is “over rated”.

Stephen – Alright mate. Don’t forget the worst one of the lot Collybore. Despise the bastard with a passion. He actually makes me feel sick. Then there is Houghton.

  52. King Eric says:

The Real AB – Yeah I know, I spoke too soon!

  56. King Eric says:

Regarding this little cunt I have just been reading a bit of a report on the bitters v hammers game. By all accounts the Citeh fans were chanting “Fergie Fergie sign him up” after he scored his sitter. They do actually think that United fans are pissed off that we didn’t sign him!

  57. Xyth says:

Why Mark fucking Hughes is not complaining now that ref just disallowed a perfectly good West Ham Goal?

  58. King Eric says:

  59. Mahesh says:

Can we not talk about Carlos Tevez please. We dislike him, no doubt, but we might be better off not going on how we are – because when the fucker does score (as he has done against West Ham) it actually hurts!

  60. King Eric says:

    Mahesh – I agree.

  61. Drew Vader says:

    Haha thats unlucky King Eric

  62. Tony Starks says:

  63. manutdchampions2008 says:

    Tony Starks
tevez is this kind of headache that just wont go away, its like killing a cockroach but it keeps appearing, I got a better one carloss tevez is like the brittish weather its just so annoying. the worry is he is level on berbatov goals wise.

  64. shebangsthedrums says:

Why are tevez and shitty STILL talking about Man Utd? I never rated him anyway, I’d rather have Berba any day. Tevez is a poor mans Rooney, and even that’s being kind.

  65. CROoney says:

Oi Scott – why don’t you make that stats comparing tevez and berbatov now ?lol

  66. CROoney says:

    Tony Starks – overhere mate

  67. CROoney says:

btw – did anyone see his blistering pace last night – he’s starting to show his true colours at city again( ability wise )…i can’t believe we let him go – cracking player

  68. keeno1966 says:

“Citeh wanted him more” YOU DAFT CUNT Citeh have done nothing for thirty plus years through decades of bad management and a poorly run board, countless numbers of SHIT managers and a plethora of incredibly average players either, has beens or never beens.

And for all their hard work do they go bust? nope they become the wealthiest club in the world. Carlos you PRICK you are the TROPHY such is Citehs pathetic obsession with all things utd you were bought for your contribution but also for the marketing/media/propeganda war you new club new believes it is entitled to join after all they cant exactly promote the teams own success now can they, so thats why they need a “statement” what would have gone on that billboard if you hadnt signed? Uwe Rosler or a picture of the fucking floodlights. To them you are a major coup to us you were a squad player who had been apple bobbing in chipfat.

Tevez to city is their first trophy of the season nothing more i thinks its worth putting things in perspective their double is beating us twice in a year ours is winning prem and champs league.

    NOW FUCKOFF

  69. BlueAnt says:

Another Tezev story… shows AGAIN the bitterness of the author….

  70. aig alex is god says:

    @Blueant

it is you player who is talking about it.Its related to united and thats why Scott has posted it.No one has told you to gibe your opinion.if you are not comfortable with it please dont visit the site. Its Scott’s blog so he can post bwhatever he wants

  71. CROoney says:

aig – tbh mate – scott hates tevez to guts and always dcides to talk about him…almost twice per week

  72. ash says:

    @crooney
if scott hates tevez to guts u love tevez very much. i have always read ur post and tbh u always critisise majority of united players.i aint saying u arent a united fan but u r very negative. tevez is gone not because he played badly for us but because of his attitude.if u think his attitude towards fegie was good then u are really dumb.

  73. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney.

Yesterday was a slow news day and so Scott posted what news he could get.not many of us like Tevez. However whatever is Man Utd news has to be posted and that is exactly what Scott is doing especially as yesterday was a slow news day.

  74. CROoney says:

ash – tevez wasn’t right when he spoke against ferguson – of course it was a bad choice
but no few stupid words against the manager (and if you remember when veron left he also mentioned how he barely speaks to players and how he lets assistants guide the training )can change all the memories and emotions he gave us…i can’t just erase that – he showed no disrespect to me (us – the fans ) –

btw , people seem to forget that SAF in all his greatness and geniosity isn’t excactly the simplest person to form a relationship with and isn’t excatly what man united is all about ( just look what yorke said, then it’s RVN case who also said that he was a bastard and that he couldn’t see him on the telly, then we all know what he did to Becks, to Stam, – Keano didn’t even allow him to do the speech at his testemonial match )

i wouldn’t want to sound like i don’t like him, that’s not true at all, but all i’m saying is that sometimes he is a bit difficult person and isn’t bigger than the club although if anyone should be given that right then it would have to be him of all managers of all clubs in the world considering that we had been in the wilderness nowhere before he came to OT…so my point is that i like tevez as a player , i like the fact that he’s always involved and that he suited rooney great…
but do i think he made a mistake ? i do ! do i think he behaved any worse than those fans who booed SAF and now boo him ? no way ! booing SAF is excactly what Tevez did in his own way so he isn’t any different than them…

also i would like to point out that i criticise players that are overrated or that deserve to be criticised – for instance when someone says Brown is a classy CB, i instantly go mad – he’s so unreliable there- he’s great RB but a lousy CB – i mean just look at how he reacted prior to da silva’s red the other day – HE fucked it up in the first place and people still named him MOTM .or when someone says berabtov is immense – i mean wtf ??? he’s ok , not immense by any means – that’s an insult to rooney, giggsy and other players who are 3 times players he is and who actually are immense
or when someone say that gibson has “loads of potential” or crap like that – no he doesn’t – at all ! he’s a squad player – everton material squad player !
or that ben foster is our future n0.1 – no way ! he would be a great back up GK but never a first choice unless he improves dramatically on the crosses – somehow i think if he hasn’t learned by no ( he’s 26 ), i doubt he ever will
i just say the things as they or as i see it

i dont’ like to talk about our advantages that much considering that we all knw them, but i like to talk about the things we need to cut out…or the problems that need to be solved…that’s why it makes me sound so negative

AIG – i’m not talking about yesterday only mate – just look at his articles in the last month or so – constantly speaking about tevez – he left – get over it, you know…

  75. King Eric says:

CROoney – “Blistering pace”. Don’t make me laugh. He should have had fucking five mate.

  76. King Eric says:

CROoney – Yeah your negativity actually annoys me at times as well although you are entitled to your opinion. If you can’t see the potential in Gibson then I have to wonder.

Tevez is no longer a United player, fuck him.

  77. ash says:

    crooney
agree with u about fergie but as a manager fergie knows whats best for the club.even i liked tevez as a player and i still like him as a player but i wont say we have lost that much by not signing tevez.
yeah berba isnt a rooney or giggs hell there are hardly few players in the primiership who are like rooney or giggs.but berba isnt that bad.he had 15 odd assists last season and this season also he is playing a decent football.
its just that people like u think tevez was gone because of berbatov.tevez also got his chances last season but he was hardly good.
and i completely disagree u saying that gibson doesnt have potential.man u are really crazzy.maybe foster should not be our no 1 keeper but how could u say a 20 year old lad who has just played 15 odd games A mediocre(sry for the wrong spelling) player.if he was just a average player fergie wont waste his time he would have been sold or sent to loan.

  78. aig alex is god says:

    king eric.

hi mate.agree there.it hasnt affected us so far.berba and owen have scored and rooney is enjoying himself.infact we are playing so much better compared to last season.we are actually dominating games and controlling the mid in every game. Berba maynot be quickest but his ability to hold the ball is good.we should not just look at the number of goals scored or distance covered but there are many other aspects

  79. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

if thats the case why cant shitty stop talking or tevez stop talking about his man utd days.hes till keeps talking about Fergie and keeps moaning.

    Gibson dosent have potential???

what are you talking.bet you said the same about fletcher 3-4 years back.

  80. CROoney says:

Don’t make me laugh. He should have had fucking five mate. – what does that have to do with pace ?

btw – berba should have had a hattrick against city , and biasness went that far even for some of the fans to say that he was fantastic ? how excactly does missing 3 sitters make you fantastic

btw – regarding gibson – all he has over fletcher in his age is a good shot – but the problem is that fletcher liked to run and get stuck in – the thing with gibson is that he never imposses himself, can’t beat players, can’t excactly pass anything special, can’t tackle and is rather slow…he’s not that young anymore either – you want under 22 players with potential ? here – Agüero ,Anderson, Balotelli , Banega , Bendtner, Diego Capel ,Di Maria , Jovetić ,Bojan Krkic ,Kroos, Papastathopoulos , Pato , Pjanić Rakitić , Ramsey ,Renato Augusto , Richards , Sanchez (Udinese, Čile), Sulejmani, Vela,Walcott ,Nani
he’s nowhere near that list mate – he’s an ordinary player–he’s not that special to lift the team in everton’s or tottenham league – he’d be only an option there, not an improvement

ASH gibwon is not 10 year old – if it was then yes he’d have a potenital – he’s almost 22 -that’s a big difference in football nowadays -well see what the future holds for him but i suppose you’ll apologize for calling me crazy once he gets transffered to sunderland in a couple of years time…as for tevez’s last season – i wonder how would berbatov behaved if he was benched for no reason in order to accomodate player wh0′s just arrived – tevez was used seperately, was pushed into horrendeus state of mind ( ffs rooney can’t even stand being subbed and tevez was an unused sub against chelsea, inter at san siro and many other matches ) and once you go off form and mentally shaky it’s difficult to drag yourself back – but he managed to do it,scored some importnatn goals and fergie decided to reward it with the new contract , he decided to accept on his demands a – but now tevez said – “the hell you will -what took you so long – i won’t do it now and turned his back on him”

imagine if roo was benched for no reason and if he got treated the same way tevez was at the beginning of the last season -i think it wouldn’t go long untill he started behaving immature – him and tev are very much a like whether you like to accept it or not – they are similar in styles and tehy share the same passion for the game – they do not want to be benched -

rooney’s improved in the last season and a half and tevez has stagnated a bit but i see him back up there in a couple of seasons time – sadly not with us
i still think there was no need to do it to him – people think that he should have fought for his place , and he did – but what was the point – today he scores the double against fulham in the Cup and the next week he’s benched for a player that spends most of the minutes invisible – then he scores a late goal against porto for example only to be put on the bench the next week – he was always gonna be the third pick no matter what he did – there was no point staying here – i know berbatov wouldn’t and most likely nor would rooney

btw – Tevez was on the pitch for 1,591 minutes compared with Rooney’s 1,875 and Berbatov’s 2,183. Tevez’s grievance is he was overlooked in so many key fixtures. In the Champions League, played 325 minutes compared with Rooney’s 708 and Berbatov’s 442. – now don’t tell me that he had more chances to shine

and to all of you saying that he wasn’t productive etc just look at this article

    http://www.footsmoke.com/tag/goals-per-minute-played/

  81. CROoney says:

what bothers me is that most of the times it’s enough for a young player to play in the CC for man united to be branded as loads of potential…like richardson – loads of potential my ass…

as for gibson – fletcher comparision – they’re totally different players, gibson is poor mans’ carrick and fletcher wasn’t loaded with potential of an attacking midfielder for example – you could see he was trying, sou could see he was eager to impose himslef but you couldn’t say he was loaded with potential – the thing with gibson is that he’s a laid back cmf who passes to the nearest man – nothing spectacular

one fletcher happens once in 50 years mate – scholes was loaded with potential, ronaldo, even nani is- not darren gibson

  82. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

That was a good essay.i nearly dozed off reading it.

i will answer certain points that you are talking about.

1.Tevez got starts in the major games.

    Liverpool both games
Arsenal home where he did nothing
Champions League semis first leg where he missed a few sitters.
Hehad 455 mins which was more than what Tevez had in the CL final.

    2. Berbatov was brilliant against Porto away when he was made to play in midfield.he scored against chelsea and set up Tevez’s goal at Anfield.he did not get too many chances because he was played too deep most of teh times.

    3. ou are talking so much about Gibson.how many times have you seen him actually.he hasnt got too many chances.

    4. Every player is not a genius at 21-22 years of age.some of them peak late so we should give some more time.andersona nd nani are not even fulfilling 5% of their talent.they are just wasting it.there are some like fletcher and gibson who are not the most talented but give more than 100% which is what i want rather than someone like nani who doesnt know how to cross the ball after 3 years and 80 odd games at United. and anderson who needs 75 games to get a goal.

out of all the names you have mentioned only aguero and pato play in big competitive leagues.the german league is not the most difficult and some like kroos have aldready disapperaed and suljemani who plays for ajax?? is that a joke comparting the dutch league to the premier league.Bojan is still young and his 900 odd goals for the youth team mean nothing.walcott is another overhyped player adn most of the others are too as they still paly for average clubs and not big clubs.

which richards are you talking about?micah Richards whose ass was kicked out of the park by 35 year old giggs.

so yopu are saying sell berbatov.we shou;ld have kept tevez,he would have scored 30 goals this season and maybe we should sell foster adn buy ribery buffon aguero and who else?? go on.

  83. aig alex is god says:

    CROOney

    apologies for the spelling erors.

  84. willierednut says:

Stay of the red bulls CROoney for fcuksake. Your points about keane, becks, veron and yorke are bullshit mate, they all had a problem wiv saf will boo fcuking hoo. The greatest manager of all time wasn’t running a popalarity contest, he was trying to run a club, if these players weren’t wiv the programe, then he was rite to ship them out. You do ave a point about stam, but didn’t saf say he made a mistake their, he’s a allowed a few mistakes now and again. ps lets wait till gibson has a run of games in the first team before we judge him

  85. CROoney says:

your first point – tevez got starts in SOME important matches – true – he scored against liverpool and provided another in the reverse leg at OT (he set up park with brilliant play ) – against arsenal in the CL (home) he was one of our most dangerous men – the difference between him missing that sitter(s) and berba doing it against city was that you could actually say that tevez was very good in that match and berba was mediocre not to say poor against city – tevez was opening them up and was involved in most of the things we did – he tormented their right hand side in the first half

your second point – berba was brilliant against porto ? are you friggin kidding me ‘? what the hell did he do ? did he have an assist ? did he score ? did he have ANY influence on the goal ? all he did was keeping possesion .i can’t even remember his display and tbh if he was brilliant-how do you call ronaldo then ? – berba was awful at San siro too

your third point – a perfect opportunity to prove to you why gibson doesn’t have the potential – he’s almost nani’s age and nani’s a few performances away of being branded as a flop by many fans(are you one of them ) – and the fact is – he’s played more, scored more, assisted more and overall has been much more successful than gibson who is, and i say it again, almost the same age as nani ..at least we can say for certain that nani’s had more influence in our play since he arrived -why is that if darrens’ soooo full of potential ?how come a player who’s scored 1 league and 1 cc goal can be full of potenital and the future of the club and the player who scored 4-5 goals in his first seaon and had 14-15 assists is branded a flop – i’d call it a double standard mate

4 – the thing with nani and anderson is that they actually have the talent

.”Bojan is still young and his 900 odd goals for the youth team mean nothing.walcott is another overhyped player adn most of the others are too as they still paly for average clubs and not big clubs.” –
are you serious – how many “odd goals” has gibson scored? – how many national teams has he demolished (aka walcott), or how many great champions league performances did he have (aka walcott – i still can’t believe how he demolished the institution of world’s football (maldini – the same maldini who played for THAT milan side that destroyed us )…you haven’t heard of di maria ?one of the best performers on the olympics for argentina ? anderson is no better than gibson ?you don’t know about diego capel ? pjanic is one of the best players for lyon

but it seems to me you want to focus on EPL player . how do you ignore walcott and bendtner then ?
you can like or dislike bendtner but his record says that he actually has potential – and darren’s record doesn’t – if anything it says he has no potential whatsoever – bendtner and walcott have had more influence on arsenal’s display in some importnat matches than darren’s had in crappy CC matches

and the thing with richards is that he actually had the opportunity to play against giggs in the most important match of the season so far – he’s been having that opportunity season in season out – and it isn’t rear that he performs brilliantly against the best strikers in the world .you know why ? you know why he’s been a consistant defender for so many years in EPL and young international ? because he has the potential- while gibson won’t be able to face essien in years -because he doesn’t have it – fergie’s usage of darren (or lack of it ) and his playing time suggest that he doesn’t have it – it’s only blind and biassed fans saying that he does

btw – essien was alongisde lampard also kicked out of park by giggs last season – does that mean he’s crap like “richards is” – can we judge a player by a single match – i know i’m not doing it – are you ?

those players I stated were nominated for the golden boy award – something darren wasn’t even considered about

you said that you love players giving 100 % – but can you actually say letargic and slow gibson does it ? and btw – what does it mean in today’s football

  86. CROoney says:

    @willierednut

to me, lack of those “run of games” in his age suggest that he doesn’t have the potential mate – why else wouldn’t he be given – we’re known for giving the chance to young players

  87. willierednut says:

Thats my point CROoney, untill he gets a run of games ill be reserving my judgement, if saf doesn’t think he’s up to it that will do me, i ave trust in the manager as shud all united fans. ps dont forget there is ando, fletch and scholesy ahead of him at the moment

  88. King Eric says:

CROoney – Gibson isn’t that young? He is 21 . He can pass and he does get stuck in.

Richards and Walcott? That says it all pal.

Finally please do not compare the Judas with Rooney. There is absolutely no contest. In case it escaped your attention Rooney did actually get benched last season.

  89. CROoney says:

king Eric – gibson is 22 – and Nani at 21 was more involved ! he can pass, yes – to the man next to him – he can’t get stuck it, nor he will be able to do it against the likes of essien and co….nani actually played against chelsea and arsenal – and had good performances against world class opponents

you mentionig richards and walcott with a question mark at the end of it doesn’t prove anything mate ? give me some stats that say they don’t have the potential – espcially walcott – i dunno how you english can not rate that player (if youzr’e english that is ), …but it’s ok – most of you dont’ rate lampard too..

rooney was benched and can be benched – but he’ll always be guaranteed the place in the team – he’s england’s prodigy ffs

  90. CROoney says:

    sorry for spelling

  91. CROoney says:

btw -yeah buying buffon wouldn’t be an illogical solution – considering that we hadn’t had a proper GK before VDS was bought –

we do not want another barthez or caroll now do we ?

  92. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

you yourself are answering most questions.how many chaces has gibson got?? surely not enough for us to start judging him.berba ws brought in against porto because of the way we played in the first leg.in the first game we coulnt even keep the ball. berba played behind so that ronaldo could play up front and would not have to defend. Berba too created many chances last year .just our wasteful finishing that always let us down so dont point out one chance tevez created.his sublime control allowed tevez to score against shitty.

fair to conclude then that after making 80 appearences anderson and nani are not united class.sell them because at 23 ronaldo was banging them in for fun.and anderson needs 80 games to get a goal.gibbo scored in his 4th.so get rid of both of them, shouldnt we??

  93. ash says:

    @crooney
bla bla bla.u r a big fan of stats but mate stats doesnt tell u everything.see u r one of the football supporter who just see who scores the goal but dont even bother to know who assisted.
tbh u are the first person who is saying bendtner is a good striker.go to arsenal blog they themselves dont rate that player.bendtner has got so many chances and still he hardly scores if macheda ,welbeck got that much chances they would have scored double the amount of goals what bendtner scores.
how could u compare tevez with rooney .if tevez is that great he should have scored more goal than rooney this season.
u name many youngster di maria, pjanjic, banega, pato, nani, agureo etc etc etc.even they must be 22 yaer old if they are that great they should have been so famous.only aguero, pato are real talent from that list.

u cant judge a playes until he has played 25-30 games for A club.maybe next u would say y dont we buy veron.

  94. ash says:

i find very much illogical and frustrating when people tend to compare every player with ronaldo or rooney.we need to understand everyone cant be a ronaldo , rooney or a messi.

  95. CROoney says:

aig – are you friggin serious ? do i have to draw it to you mate ?

picture this – anderson , nani, ginson are in the same team right ? the first 2 get picked week in week out for United for about 2 years – and the second one gets picked for shitty mickey mouse matches —why ? why didn’t he have run of games over them ? surely it says something ?

as your ando and nani comparision to ronaldo – wtf was that for ? my comparision of gibson to anderson and nani is that i’m comparing players who are about the same age and are considered to have talent ? the thing with anderson is that he’s awful at shooting but he’s involved , has a great defending ability, has an ability to pass all over the field, left, right diagonally- and that’s the complete opposite to gibson who has a great shot on him but can’t get involved – completely opposite to ando – completely – plus he’s younger

ash – mate i’m saying the things as they are – ade was never rated too – look what happened with him – bendtner has overall a bad charisma around him but were where those fans when he’s scoring…he’s already scored more than berbatov and tevez this season – he’s their ole, only they don’t see it

i don’t care who other fans rate or don’t – THE FACT is that all those players i stated were in line for the reward for the hottest talent in the world – were was gibson ? playing in our reserves -that’s where

“u name many youngster di maria, pjanjic, banega, pato, nani, agureo etc etc etc.even they must be 22 yaer old if they are that great they should have been so famous.only aguero, pato are real talent from that list.
” – again mate – I’M NOT NAMING THEM – they WERE named/nominated – and if only those 2 are talented and others not what does that say about gibson when he’sn nowhere near that list -
“if they are that great they should have been so famous” – i never said that they’re great ffs – i said that they have the potential – this is about potential not finished footballers – btw- they’re more famous than gibson

  96. CROoney says:

ash – yeah ….me too —THAT’S WHY I DIDN’T COMPARE GIBSON TO RONALDO FOR FUCK SAKE !

JESUS – YOU GUYS SHOULD LEARN TO READ

  97. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

why dont you get it?? how many chacnes has gibson got?????????? let him get 6-8 premier league games under his belt.we will see then. you are comparing gibson with ando and nani.ando was brought to replace scholes and nani giggs.they were hyped so much.gibbo has never been hyped at all.ando adn nani are not veen 0.000001% of those 2.and that too after 2 seasons.why are you so impatient;cant we give gibson time.if he dosent perform then we will move on?? cant these decisions be left to SAF.if he would have felt what you are saying he would have got rid of him.do you think you can judge players better than SAF?

  98. willierednut says:

From that list id say aguero and pato ave the potential to become world class, the rest ave question marks over them.

  99. Tony Starks says:

Hehe interesting debate here… regarding Gibson, personally I think he’s way overrated by our fans. At this age if he was any good he would be playing more games – he can’t even get on the bench for the league games..

I will eat my words if he makes it here but I’m telling you guys he won’t, and I am pretty sure the manager knows this too..

  100. King Eric says:

Tony Starks – I usually agree with you but not on this. Lets not forget Fergie gave him a 3 year contract last month so he obviously DOES think he will make it. The reason Gibbo doesn’t start league games is because it is very difficult to drop Fletch and Scholes at present. Anderson and Nani cost a hell of a lot more so are probably going to start more. I really like Gibson He gets stuck in, great passer, great shot and his positional sense is first class. A couple of occasions last week when Nev and Pat bombed forward and straight away he dropped back to cover. CROoney you cannot compare him to Nani, two very different players mate and yes I am English. Finally alongside Fletch and O’Shea Gibson is supposedly the fittest man at United.

  101. King Eric says:

Fucking hell CROoney banging on about Greedybayour now. Lets see how he has done next may and not after 4 starts. You seem to really like the CIteh players for some reason. Horrible fucking cunts.

  102. King Eric says:

Bendtner is their Ole? That is a fucking insult pal to 2OLegend. Not in the same league as Ole.

  103. manutdchampions2008 says:

    King Eric
tevez I am sick to death with on here with and in general. many of us go on about ronaldo but this tevez debate is becoming a joke. he was never the right fit for united and we wasted all of summer 2007 gettin this guy when someone like torres or villa would have been far better bets. and suited rooney more.

  104. King Eric says:

    manutdchampions2008

Evening pal. Torres never wanted to come though, he always preferred the dippers. (who appear to be struggling in Italy at the minute).

  105. manutdchampions2008 says:

    King Eric
I was never convinced by that statement. liverpool are this overhyped machine yet united are always underestimated.

  106. CROoney says:

willierednut – but the thing is mate – gibson was never even considered to be put on that list – so much of his potential

aig – Oh my god mate ? are you fuckin’ serious ? there i was trying to explain how the fact that he hasn’t had chances to play that much must mean that ferguson doesn’t trust him (why should i ), and yet you’re saying that i should base my opinion when he gets chances

lack of chances and confidence is why i’m basing my opinion on

let me put it this way – if he had “loads of potantial” don’t you think it would be smart giving him a chance for that potential to develope – like he did with nani and anderson—anderson was brought to replace scholes, true, but i thought gibson is a cmf too

    jesus—

now please don’t writte another “how can you base your opinion when he hasn’t had run of games ” bull…please mate

my only answer to that question would be “why ?” – why he hasn’t had run of games

MAYBE BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHERS , EVEN YOUNGER (OR A FEW MONTHS OLDER) THAN HIM WHO ACTUALLY HAVE POTENTIAL

  107. CROoney says:

King Eric – “Anderson and Nani cost a hell of a lot more so are probably going to start more.”

funny – when i said that was the reason why berbatov was preffered up front no one seemed to agree

btw – if gibson was so talented, why do you think we bought nani and ando for “hell of a lot more “…

richardson also had a contract extension…so did campbell if i’m not mistaken

“Finally alongside Fletch and O’Shea Gibson is supposedly the fittest man at United.” -wtf ? what does it mean fittest ? is sheasy more fit than evra or ronney, or vida ? don’t think so —tbh nani’s fit as hell if you want

i’m comparing nani’s potential with gibson – while nanai actually plays a part in our league and CL campaign because he has the talent, gibson is not taken seriously because he doesn’t have it imo..i’m not comparing them as player but as future potential

btw – i respect adebayor’s talent – he’s an excellent player …btw would you say that to rio ( that he likes city’s players ) because rio said that the most difficult player to watch was ade…btw – this is only a game – a player doesn’t have to be a cunt simply for wearing another shirt – it’s ridiculous – yes , he’s a mercenary, yes he’s egoistic, but he’s a class act – how else would his ratio be so good in EPL…if you want cunt – there’s steven gerrard – a perfect example – you can’t say that for torres though

one more thing – i said that bendtner is their version of a golden sub – something similar what ole was for us – there is only one ole – that kinda player and person is born once in a century

manutdchampions2008 – you actually saw torres and villa playing alongside rooney.?.. how could you say such a bullshit then ?and did you happen to oversleep the season before last when tevez and rooney formed a partnership what some thought that had the potential to become one of the best EPL partbnerships ever

  108. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

Anderson and nani were bought for amassive amount of money so fergie has to play them and give them chances.gibson may be an average player but maybe because we have so many good players he is finding it hard to break through.and why hasnt fergie sold him till now? because he can contribute something to the team.so lets give him a chance.if he cant make the cut then he will be sold but why start writing him off rather than giving hima chance.nani and anderson arent doing a great job so we can give gibson a chacne at some stage.anyways i would like to be patient on whether a player can make it or not rather can coming to a quick conclusion.

    Anyways i respect your opinion.

  109. aig alex is god says:

    CROoney

please dont talk about bendtner.he isnt even 1% of what ole was.he is an average player .let him do something of note and then mwe will talk about him.maybe a winner in a CL final or 4 goals in 13 mins after coming on as a sub.

tevez and rooney partnership faded badly towards the end of 2007-08 season.fergie thought berba would bring a different dimension to our game.tevez should have been patient .had he stayed on he would have got many chances this season.not as if he didnt get many last year.the best partnership at United was Rooney and Ronaldo.

  110. CROoney says:

first of all – i agree about ron-roo partnership – they were great

but the fact is that there was a great trio tev-roo-ron which clicked perfectly – and in almost every big match that we produced results they both played – liverpool away, arsenal away, chelsea home ( away roo was benched i think ), barca and chelsea in the CL – they created many chances with their pace, unpredictabilty, strenght and places interchange…they never faded excactly – in fact they found their feet back towards the end of last saeson too ( just rememebr that great understanding and roo’s backheel for tevez porto goal )..
as for bendtner – how old was ole when he scored that winner ?

so let’s suppose that this season bendtner scores a CL winner ( although given the strenght of their team i highly doubt it they will make it that far ) – will he be branded as the great player -can a single goal actually do that i never said he was as good, i said he was similar – he was their 2nd top scorer last season ffs – and the boy’s what 21 ?

as for gibson – i agree that he’s average – but how can that be full of potential – come on mean – even i would be average in such a team – he’s a mid table material

  111. CROoney says:

    *come on man

  112. CROoney says:

btw -all of you slagging nani- he has 2 goals and 2 assists to his name – joint 2nd in both

he’s had the best first season that any of our young player ever – in terms of goals he made
