Watched programme about Ole's first years at OT on MUTV. Even at that early stage he already had class written all over him. At one time Spurs were showing interest in him. This after he lost his place due to injury and the arrival of Dwight Yorke. Yet, he decided to stay because he wanted to prove a point. And, oh boy, didn't he do just that. As time goes by Barcellona 99 gets sweeter and sweeter. Thank you Ole. Wherever you go you'll still be my sunshine.

This could be good. If he can get some valuable experience and guide Molde into Europe, then who knows in 2-3 years time, he could be in the running to take over the boss. This could be the perfect molding (pun intended!) for Ole!

The term 'legend' is so easily spouted about these days, I mean ffs sake John Terry is even labelled as such, what a joke albeit by his own fans who have no clue what a true legend is all about...

They do not come any bigger than Ole as far as I am concerned, he ranks up there with the likes of Best, Charlton, Law, Robson, Giggsy, Scholes and co...... Legends are rare but at United we have been lucky over the years to have a vast share of them.... Bloody loved the guy and still do, the absolute definition of loyalty... What a player, what a human being what a man.... By no doubt the best natural finishers the game has ever seen.

Chichartito - look at Ole for inspiration and as a role model. Him with Giggs, Scholes & Neville are the last of the 'loyal' kind.

I wish you nothing but good luck for your future, Ole. Take care.

With Ole it wasn't all about goals. He is a legend for stuff like this too:

@Callum

Yeah, same for me. He wasn't the best player I've seen at United, but he is my personal favourite too. He could pick out any square in the net with the ball. He was that good.

Do you seriously think Rooney can be this good? I doubt so.

We are missing this deadly finishing, composure and the impact of his late introduction into the game so dearly.

You will always be sunshine. You have my consent to go there, but come back later as our manager please.

Wonderful video thanks Scott. Its strange that things always turn out the best for Manchester United in the end. Had we have signed Shearer then Ole maybe wouldn't have come to OT and personally I feel Ole is the better player for OT. Ole is a pipo Inzaghi, theres a willingness never to stop playing, can use either feet and draws the ball to his feet in scrappy play so he can bury the bastard thing. He runs all day and understands what it is to be in a squad.
As for if he'd be a United manager of the future, i believe he could well be. Hes not ready yet and i think even he admits that but who could start off with better credentials. Played under the great man Sir Alex, was around when all the greats and success was going on. Cult status for never giving up and burying the crouts in Barcelona. He'd have the respect of any young player coming through at United for what hes done, not only acchievements on the field but for his temperament whilst waiting for his chance. Hes also not so big an ego that he would need to impose at the detriment of the United way, his own ideas ala Roy Keane or Mourinho. Hes also had managers for Norway that have given him a good perspective of the other end of football and his job within the reserves and youth system at OT. He needs to get out there and manage and maybe we can hope Sir Alex can last another 10 years untill Ole is ready.

My favorite piece of play form the Legend that is OLE isnt the goals (although the winner in 99 was fucking amazing), for me it was when we played Newcastle and I cant remember who it was that broke for them but there was no one close to them except Ole and he chased them down, took them clean out, stood up and walked before the red was even shown and he left to a standing ovation!! That was how much playing for Utd meant to him, he deserves a statue outside OT just for the love he showed our great club!!

Very sad to see him go, but he was always going to leave at some point. He was never going to spend his whole career with the reserves, nor was he going to be given a coaching/assistant role with the first team without previous first hand experience. Hopefully he has a very successful time at Molde, and return to OT someday.. thanks for all the memories, Ole. Legend in every sense of the word.

@Lovin' United sorry i didnt mean to. What i really mean is, Rooney is the best striker we got now. So does our best striker, or any other striker even in the league have the potential to be that good? Solskjaer's touches made Berbatov's touches look plain.

I think it's time for us to let Ole go

Because one day there will be a time to come back

No one can doubt though that as players come and go - he was Manchester United through and through

Rather have a Solskjaer than a Rooney any day of the week

Shame he isn't 10 years younger...

To be honest, I missed seeing the early Ole, but he was one of my favourites. Him and Ruud were two of the biggest reasons why I fell in love with Utd (Giggsy was probably the biggest). This video opens my eyes to how great he really was...simply amazing! All the best, Ole. Thank you, and godbless.

His movement off the ball to get into the most dangerous position was fabulous, coupled with the power and precision in his finishing made him so dangerous. looking at the goals, you wonder how often the goalie was left with a chance when he shot?

pity there aren't a few more like him at present.

His coach says he is a bit like Xavi, and a bit like Messi...big words for a 15 yr old? Anybody knows anything about him?

Off-topic, Nani and Giggs both likely to appear tomorrow? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/8118527/Manchester-United-manager-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-wheels-out-the-big-guns-for-derby.html
