BBC: Arsenal blew the Premier League title race wide open as leaders Manchester United were deservedly beaten at the Emirates Stadium. Aaron Ramsey’s winner early in the second half condemned United to defeat and leaves them only three points ahead of Chelsea with identical goal difference – and a meeting between the two to come at Old Trafford next Sunday.

The Guardian: Arsenal have overcome Manchester United at last, just when it seemed that the reliability of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side was beyond dispute. They had not been beaten by the Gunners in a span of seven games, spread over two-and-a-half years in all competitions. United have now faltered just when a great deal is at stake. The lead over Chelsea in the Premier League is down to three points because of Aaron Ramsey’s goal.

The Telegraph: Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. A distress signal lit up Manchester United’s efforts to inch towards the finishing line of the great Premier League race on Sunday. The leaders deservedly lost to Arsenal, giving Chelsea the chance of overtaking them when the top two meet at Old Trafford next weekend. Call it Summit Sunday. For all the cloud that followed United back north, they rightly remain favourites. Chelsea must win, giving them the edge on goal difference, and must then match United’s results in the remaining two games.

The Independent: Arsenal blew the Barclays Premier League title race wide open after finally finding the character of champions to beat leaders Manchester United 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Aaron Ramsey’s second-half goal – his first in the Premier League since January 2010 – saw United’s lead remain at just three points from Chelsea, whom they face next week at Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail: At one stage during their game at Stamford Bridge on March 1, Manchester United were effectively 18 points clear of Chelsea, albeit having played an extra game. Carlo Ancelotti highlighted as much to his players during the interval that day, no doubt fearful they might slip out of the Champions League places, never mind the title race. Now, however, a win at Old Trafford this Sunday would see Chelsea move to the top of the Barclays Premier League on goal difference. Thanks to a fully deserved victory for Arsenal at the Emirates against a United side who were a poor imitation of the one which so impressed in Gelsenkirchen five days earlier, that same title race is very much alive. It is an astonishing turnaround.
