With his two goals against Sunderland today, Wayne Rooney has become the first player in Premier League history to score at least 10 goals a season for 11 years running. He’s currently on 10 goals from 23 appearances, putting him the joint 8th (with Van Persie) highest scorer in the league, which isn’t bad going when you consider he’s spent more of the season in midfield.
