It has been confirmed this afternoon that Sergio Aguero has been charged with violent conduct. He elbowed Winston Reid in Manchester City’s last game. Referee Andre Marriner failed to spot the incident which has allowed the FA to take retrospective action after reviewing television footage.
Aguero has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond although it stands to reason that he will miss the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The FA have over a 99% conviction rate after taking the decision to charge a player.
