Manchester United’s line-up is a bit of a worrying one today: Kuszczak, Neville, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Rooney, Berbatov, Obertan.

Bench: Michael Owen, Chicharito, Fabio da Silva, Jonny Evans, Darron Gibbson, Bebe, Ben Amos.

Let’s not forget that West Brom took a well deserved point from us at Old Trafford this season and are no mugs. It was a Nani freekick which lead to the first goal and Nani who scored our second. They play nice football and will want to terrorise our right flank and expose the weakness that GNev provides. Hopefully with the industrious Fletch on this wing, he will be able to counter-balance this threat.

Edwin Van der Sar, who misses the game with flu, was at fault for the first costly error in a few years when he dropped a simple cross in to his goal.

As the players warm up on the pitch, Bebe skies the ball well over on three occasions. More promisingly, Rooney hits the top corner of the net twice. He will be desperate to contribute to the goals today and hopefully that will help us win the game. After giving us more lies yesterday, he really does continue to go down in my estimation, but I’ll celebrate a winning goal from him the same I would any other player!

There were rumours before the game that Smalling was going to start in place of Rio, but it looks like the England captain’s back can withstand 3 games in 6 days. Fingers crossed.

This could be a difficult game today but if we get an early goal or two, hopefully their heads will go down and our lads will be up for it and go for the kill.

Come on reds!
