After learning that Park Ji-Sung was turning down the opportunity to represent South Korea in order to be available to play for Manchester United, Darren Fletcher has added himself to the club > country ranks.

Scotland boss, George Burley, has organised for his squad to begin training on Thursday in preparation for their crucial World Cup qualifier against Norway next week. Darren Fletcher has turned down his international coach’s pleas though, preferring to stay with the United squad ahead of this weekend Community Shield match against Chelsea.

It is understood that Fletcher did not want to jeopardise his place in the pecking order at Old Trafford, so will join up with the rest of the Scottish squad on Monday.
