Dimitar Berbatov scored a brilliant goal to make it 3-1 to United in this afternoon’s Community Shield against Chelsea, however downplayed Sir Alex Ferguson’s claim that it proved his ‘genius’.

“It’s my first goal in the Community Shield, so it’s a good day for me,” said Berbatov. “It’s always good to score against a good side like Chelsea. But a goal is a goal, it doesn’t matter how you score it. If the ball is in the net, that’s what counts. We have a great team spirit. Everyone is like a big family. That goal relaxed everyone and we won.”
